Imagine. Someone grabs you. You struggle against him, but it's no use. You calm yourself and concentrate just enough for a slight Pull. He falls, letting go of your arms in his surprise. You look down at him, your green eyes calm as roots pull themselves from the ground and wrap themselves around him, restraining him.

Imagine. You are surrounded by battle and sea. The villains have thrown grappling hooks and are preparing to board. Your eyes shift sightly towards the bow of the ship, you can see the water. A Pull and a Push, and there is a wall of it, crashing onto the decks of the enemy ship, snapping the lines and washing away much of her crew.

Imagine. You are deep in a dark wood. Someone stalks you. Your eyes begin to blaze. This is the last mistake he will ever make. You turn. Flames trail after your fingers in an elegant fiery ribbon. You release the flame and it hurtles toward your adversary. He is engulfed. You stand and calmly watch as he is consumed.

Imagine. You are in a strange ruin. You Feel darkness, evil intent. An invisible attack is launched upon your very Spirit. If you do not react, you will be Crushed. You Push back, breaking its grasp. You launch your own attack, Pushing against the Spirit. Finally, something breaks and the dark Spirit is Crushed. You bow your head.

Earth, the most stable. Water, the most practical. Fire, the most violent. Spirit, the most uncommon. These are the Elements, the tools of the Kmiar. The Kmiar are great beings, taller than the tallest Humans, stronger than the strongest Dwarfs, more wise than the wisest of the Elves. They were marked by great beauty and grace, their hair was often long, flowing yellow-gold, silvery-white, or sometimes deep auburn down their backs. They were the descendants of the divine, and were revered by all the races. They stayed within their own kingdom, welcoming dignitaries of the other races who came to the great cities of Laslaundius for advice, but never going out into the other kingdoms of the land. But that was many ages ago.

Much has changed in the past few millennia. Laslaundius, the kingdom of the Kymar, is now unified only on the surface. In reality they are divided; cut into four segregated sub-kingdoms. These kingdoms have slowly developed into their own separate races of Kymar. The High Ones, Kymar of the great cities, still the philosophers and politicians that they have always been, have come to be know as the High Kymar.  They are the symbols of Laslaundius and all that the other races believe the Kymar to be, with thin elegant bodies and long silver-white hair. The Seafarers, Kymar of the port towns have always been seafarers and have come to be known as Sea Kymar. They are rugged, with their comparatively stocky, muscular bodies, wind-burned faces, and short sandy hair. The Forest Dwellers now keep to their woods, the long brown hair and green eyes of the Forest Kymar are rarely seen in this age. The last race of Kymar are the Dark Ones, outcasts, hiding together in covens deep within the darkest forests of Laslaundius. Dark Kymar, descendants of beings so evil they were cast out from Kymar society. These Kymar have grown taller and fairer than any of the others, but theirs is a dangerous beauty. They possess skin whiter than any other beings, hair blacker than the deepest tunnels of the Dwarfs, and eyes red as blood. Their builds are delicate, though they possess strength beyond what any would dream they could. It is a good thing then, that they are so few. Or so it was believed...
