That day in March was a bright and sunny day. It had turned cold after the interjection of the moon over the sun.
   "You feel that?" Franky turned on her skiis to face Nate, "I think it just dropped ten degrees!"
   "That might have something to do with the eclipse." Nate muttered, irritated at the fact that one of his skiis had split in half a mile behind them.
   Franky giggled, "I see you're getting crabby in your old age. I fear the day I turn 27!" She turned to face Nate's muttering and swearing. She rolled her eyes, "Now if we were to die out here right now, is that how you want everyone to remember you? Nate Talbot: The young studly private investigator turned old, crabby geezer before his thirties."
   "Well aren't you just a fountain of affection there Franky. Franky?" Nate muttered, stabbing what was left of his ski into the snow. He stopped when he noticed Franky speeding down the hill away from him. "Would you wait up! What'dya think you're doing?" He sped after her, but stopped when he noticed her staring at some light object in the snow.
   "Is that a skull?" Franky said, motioning her head towards the object. "I think it is."
   Nate hobbled towards it, "It's a skull alright. Probably some coyote or something." He stopped suddenly and glared at the skull again, "No wait. That's not a coyote. Hell, I don't think that's an animal at all."
   "Well what else would it be?" Franky said, rolling her eyes and sped down the rest of the hill, "It can't be human. Can it?" She noticed Nate's intense glare as she mentioned the word human. "Oh come on, you can't be serious."
   "I'm going to call the station, report this in." Nate replied, pulling his cell phone from his pocket without looking away from the skull. "I have a bad feeling about this."
   "A bad feeling?" Franky replied, sighing at how Nate was taking this so seriously, "I don't mean to sound heartless, but its probably just some hiker that got lost in-my guess- a storm."
   "Right, and do lost hikers have seven fractures on their skull?" Nate said, showing Franky the cracks in the skull
   Franky leaned forward and stared at the cracks. "He could've pissed off a bear?"
   Nate looked back and shot a questioning look at Franky, "A bear? Yeah, and since when can bears pick up a hard object and beat a hiker over the head with it?"
   "Have you seen those paws?" Franky retorted, "They're huge! Could snap me in half!"
   "Right, well I'll send the location down to Cale and get someone from the department down to pick this up. Come on, we'd better get back into town." Nate said, taking one last glance at the skull and turned to go.
   Franky stared in disbelief as Nate balanced on one foot and sped down the hill, "Well so much for watching the eclipse. Alright, well it was nice chattin' with ya. We should do this again." She said, winking at the skull as she followed Nate down the hill.
