The Rules of Star Wars: Revolution
This are the official rules for this specific roleplay that includes some general house rules as well as typical ones found in most roleplays. I'm sorry if you dont agree with them, but these are FINAL, so please dont complain. If you really have a problem with something, message [
dragon_master_25], [
LunaSoleil] or [
kerry555]. Anyhow, please pay attention, because you will be notified if you happen to break a rule (not like you'll be "punished" or anything, but if you happen to keep breaking rules without even trying to abide, you will be kicked out, though not without being warned.)
Unfortunately, we are not perfect and do not always get all the rules the first time, so please be patient as the rules will sometimes change or be added on to. That is why it is a good thing to sometimes check back to these pages just in case they have changed or to simiply watch them.
The Rules
--------------
--------------------------------------------------------------
1) NO MODING
Moding is when one character tries to force an action on another character. Never assume your opponents next move. Basically if you force a character to do something that will go against their character, goes against their permission, or causes harm to them... DO NOT do it unless you ask first (not the character, obviously, but whomever plays them).
If you were to fight another character, for example, say that you do something at them, then give him the option of allowing the action or not. A good roleplayer will not make their character invincible and will allow some harm to come to them once in a while. Invincible characters are another thing that is against the rules.
Make sure, if you are planning to do serious harm, or even try to shoot/try to cut the other people - like if my character wanted to slap someone, she could, because it doesn't mean they'd die. But if she were planning to take a knife and kill someone, she'd have to ask the certain player.
2) In and Out of Character
Please only use the wiki page for roleplaying unless it is important to post out of character in that place. All out of character things should be said in the comment boxes. If an out of character comment is needed in the wiki page, please post similar to this:
((Dont go anywhere until I tell you to, or something bad will happen. I'll be back later to explain - [kerry555]))
3) Yelling and Grammar
Do not yell unless it is meant to be used in a yelling manner. This also goes for the comment boxes. The following is considered yelling:
HELLO EVERYONE, HOW ARE YOU?
Also please use the most correct grammer and spelling that you can. I know we have some members who speak another language other than English, and we're understanding of the difficulties, but please do your best. Also, pleast dont throw a fit if we happen to fix your errors. Also, absolutely NO netspeak. The below is an example of netspeak:
wut^ ppl how r u
This is to ensure that everyone will be clearly able to understand you. Plus it just looks nice
4) Posting
Whenever you speak or do any kind of action, ALWAYS put your character's name in bold. (To put your characters name in bold, put <b > without spaces in front of the name, and then after it, put </ b>) This makes it easier to find who is speaking. Please keep the cursing down to a minimal level. No one-liners. A roleplay is like writing a story with different authors writing things for each character to become a collaborative effort: make the story interesting! :) Also please only write in third person! An example of third person is:
Whomever goes and does whatever, doing something with someone else, blah blah blah.
(if this confuses you, just message me: [dragon_master_25],[kerry555] or [LunaSoleil])
5) Entrances and Exits
It is very important that you always make an appropriate entrance and exit every time that you come into and leave a room of the mansion. Neither have to be very elaborate, but they are somewhat crucial to understanding where you are coming from and going to. When you exit, please ALWAYS leave a link to the next page you will be on, or will be walking through. A good example of how to do all three is below:
Padmé walks through the front doorway of the Confederation Building and looks around. Deciding that she wishes to see the Star Wars Awesome front page, she goes to Star Wars: Revolution. (although, you will sue a direct link to the room/place you are going to enter. To do so, put [ name of wiki place @ wiki] without spaces.
6) Don't be an Asshole
This may be Elftown's #1 rule, but we hope that you already know not to be one. We've already had a lot of complaining about rules and such, and that is partially my fault for not better defining what each race can do and what characters cannot do as far as actually roleplaying. I expect all new players to be fully aware of the rules and abide by them. Please treat everyone with respect, especially your Administrators, who spend a lot of time and effort to make this roleplay work. If you dont like how we run things, you are free to leave.
As for time... when roleplaying in this format, time goes very slowly. Basically, however much time it takes to read whatever is on the page and do whatever is done, is how much time has passed. That's one of the reasons we really dont allow posts like (so and so does this and two hours later, goes to this place). If you're going to be in a place that long, you need to type something long enough that it would be convincing that you've been there that long.
I'm sorry there is so much to read, but if I dont write every single thing down, someone could use the excuse that they didnt know what they've done was against the rules because it wasnt written down somewhere. Every new member is required to read all of this. We are very strict about the rules and will kick people out who dont obey them. Purposefully screw up something on one of our pages, and we'll call in the Elftown Guards.
Some other things: Everyone is allowed only 2 characters, One Jedi Knight and One Padawan. your knight can be upgraded to Master, but ONLY the Moderators can tell you when he/she is ready - you do not decide. Also along with that, only the Moderators characters can start out on the Jedi Council. This gives us the right to help decide who can be upgraded.
Sorry if we sound harsh, but we'd like to run this as smoothly as possible, without people doing whatever they want.
