The tree ov ashes

Resting on the winding boughs
At the top of the great ash tree
Lie curling fields of green
On on those fields lie vicious battles
As far as the eyes could see

And on those plains I searched for all eternity
When I found the one eyed man
and he whispered these words to me:

Walk thou down that road
Though you know not where you go
Endless times of battle
and glorious fields of gold
But how you cross I cannot say
Until you fully know.

And as I started down that road
Seeking fields of green
I came across a field of flame
But saw not plains of green
But once I found the ill old man
he whispered these words to me:

Walk Thou Down that road
You know what you seek
But you cannot find those feilds of gold
Until you fully Know

Then I found the realm of men
Who stumbled amidst the trees
and once I found the white dressed man
he then said these words to me

Walk Thou down that road
But death is where you shall go
you cannot find what you seek
Until you fully know

And as I wandered across the realm
Seeking fields of green
I found a serpent speaking tounges
That were known to me

The serpent breathing fire
his claws tearing trees
I lifted up my sheild and sword
and tried to slay this mighty beast

Finally the dragon said, in a mighty flaming roar
Walk thou down that road
But you know not where you go
But know youll see the eight legged horse
and he will show you to where you
seek to go

And as I fell in battle, dropping to my knees
I saw the one eyed man again
Reciting these words to me

Walk thou down that road you go
To the end of the trees
and you will find a glorious hall
and a seat for you and me

A very norse mythology based look and the journey ov a mans life, we start life with the knowledge that we will die, and we spend all our lives seeking meaning and purpose, and a destination. Everything seems so crytpic until after we face the threat that kills us (the dragon namely, which can be a reference to old age, or disease, or even murder) and then we find out that everything is so simple
