The Triquetra (Tri- KET-ra) which is one of the many symbols of the wiccan religion(in so many words) it is adapted from the christian faith although no one is for certain where its origin came from. The symbol has appeared within the tv series "Charmed" to be associated with the wiccan practices.


What the symbol signifies is the power of three...as the number 3 is a very important numer to a lot of faiths and religions. The symbol also signifies life, death and rebirth and the three forces of nature;earth air and water. The inner three circles represent the female element and fertility.


The symbol is also known as the triple goddess.the maiden, mother and crone represent the life stages of every women and man. born to innocence, inspired to create, then embodied with wisdom.


The symbol is a source of protection also as it represents safety for a witch while she is wearing it or showing respect for the wiccan religion.
