A week had passed since the arivel of the new student body. Classes had been under way for the last five days and students where looking forward to the weekend.
The entire school had been informed of recent events. The Danger Room was slowly being rebuilt. Sessions where currently held outside under the watchful eyes of Logan and Laura.
Everyone waited impatiently for the hatching of Kari and Jayn's egg which was believed to happen in about two more weeks. However an early hatching was possible.
Emma and Scott had had some sort of argument and where not talking directly to one another. Students and faculty rushed for cover whenever one of them would enter a room.
Kurt boasted about the school as proud as a shadow covered peacock while his pregnante wife Delaney began coping with her adjusting senses. Only a week pregnant and she was having issued with her senses.
All in all the school was normal as usual.
Mort sat on the bottom stairs, staring around at this new place he called home. It was strange to sleep in doors, if he thought to sleep at all. He suposed he didn't need it, sleep was a body thing but he enjoyed it all the same. He still woke early though, force habit of the streets. Wake early or get take the chance of getting caught by the police.
Amy walked down from the dorm hall. Her suit was more fashionable and appealing then the original one. Thankfully, Hank designed a new one. "Good morning." she said, noticing Mort.
Mort looked up at Amy and seemed to grin wider "Morning Amy, you're up early." He got up, his back cracking into place "Wonder if they've got the danger room up and running yet."
"Already? Not sure....It's too early to be running around anyways."
Amy replied.
Mort tapped his foot impatiently "I thought these were the greatest mutant minds in the world."
"What's the matter, Mortimer?"
Amy asked, placing a hand on his shoulder.
Mort shrugged gently "I dunno... I guess I just want to see what I can really do. I never really USED my powers before. I mean normal lessons are ok but I want to see what I can do for real." He let out a little laugh "I guess Im just excited."
Amy took off her glove and rubbed the top of his skull, "Don't you worry." She loved the smooth feeling it left on her hands.
Mort let out a small laugh "Heh.. you like my head don't you?" He didn't know why she kept smoothing his dome but it was kind of amusing.
Amy smiled, "I had an old boyfriend who had a shaved head, I always liked to rub it. But yours is much smoother..."
Mort glanced at her, he knew better than to ask what happened to him "I'm a literal chrome dome."
"Guess so."
Amy said, looking down at him as he sat on the stairs. She leaned in from behind him and gave his skull a little peck.
David walked down the stairs coming from his room. Wearing a baggy white t-shirt with some jeans and his usual hat & shoes, he looked as if he had just woken up - and indeed he had. "Hey, man," he said to Mort, sounding tired as he wrapped an arm around Amy's shoulders, leaning on her a little and smiling at her.
mort waved at David, hadn't felt the kiss. That was the problem with being surprisingly cute with a skeleton, he could never feel it. He was slightly nervous about David leaning on Amy, she was still dangerous.
Amy smiled and laughed a little, "Just get up?"
"Oh, yeah,"
David replied with a grin. "I had the greatest night's sleep. Dreamt about you," he gave her a wink and then smiled satisfactorall
y at Mort, mainly to get him in on the joke but also because he seemed a little antsy.
"I bet you were..." Amy rolled her eyes, smiling. "That's the best kind."
Mort's for ever stuck face was impassive as he looked at David, but if it had been there it would have looked scarier than Mort did now. Kill him he thought in his own private jealous world Kill him and steal his skin for yourself, then you could could be with Amy
David was sensing a little hostility so he grimaced slightly and looked at Amy's face as if searching it for a way to lift the bad vibes. He ended up saying "So, how are you liking the new suit? It's quite sassy, if I say so myself."
Amy nodded, "Yea...skin tight. Well, I suppose one should have skin then--well you know what I mean. But yea, I like it. Dr. Hank fixed it up a bit from the first prototype. I couldn't sit out the entire year out in the yard, now could I?" she smiled.
"Beats being buck naked, anyway," David smiled and squeezed her a little in his arm before letting her go. He went down a couple more steps and sat down next to Mort, putting his elbows up on the step behind him and stretching his legs out. "You're not a morning person, are you, Bonesy?"
"Not a person, technnically" Mort said "But no, I dont like mornings. Morning was a time for people like me to run and not enjoy themselves." He stared at the floor. He was in his own made hoody and baggy trousers today, he liked making them.
"I thought you weren't a person," David grinned, and then lightly tapped Mort on the side of his arm with the back of his hand to let him know he was teasing.
"People LIKE me, meaning people who aren't people" mort said, not feeling the tap. People REALLY needed to figure out he couldn't get the subtle hints unless he saw them.
David held up a hand as if to tell Mort it wasn't so big a deal to argue about it, and gave him a non-threatening smile. "So, what are you two lovebirds up to today?"
Mort caught the hand and turned to look at David so he could keep track of what he was doing. Lovebirds? he thought as he looked up at Amy "I dunno, what do you want to do?"
"Well normally I would go get something to eat, but as of a month ago...I don't eat." Amy admitted. She turned to David, "You hungry?"
"Starving," David responded. "I haven't eaten yet, I was on my way when I saw you guys. Do you want to come watch me eat or..." he shrugged. "If you guys just want to hang out alone or something I'm sure I can manage to chew by myself." He addressed the first half of this to Amy and the second half to Mort, who he was pretty sure didn't like him.
Mort didn't mind David but he had violent thoughts about anyone who hit on Amy. Admittedly that wasn't many people but he would feel the same way for anyone. "I cant watch people eat" he said, trying to grimace at the thought "It makes me jealous."
"Oh come on, Mortimer...don't be such a bum." Amy grinned before walking in front of them on the stairs. She grabbed David's wrist and pulled him up. "I'll accompany you, David." she told him. Amy knew that if she wanted to go, he would follow. It was just her way of making Mort socialize more.
David smirked as he was pulled up. "Thank you, m'lady," he said, and turned to Mort waiting to see if he was going to join them.
Mort sighed and got up, his body bending unnaturally as he did. He shifted his hoody back into place "Alright, I guess I have to some time."
"Good." Amy winked before grabbing his arm bone. She led the two into the main dining hall
After lying in bed for an hour, staring at the ceiling and lingering on her dreams, Joselyn walked slowly down the stairs into the main entrance hall. Sounds made their way from her stomach into the air around her and she rolled her eyes. "Calm down you demanding stomach, I'm on my way to feed you right now," she said, stretching as she reached the foot of the stairs. After scratching the back of her neck she made her way into the main dining hall, noticing Daine as she came in from the grounds and nodding her head.
Daine smiled and waved her hand at Joselyn before jogging up to her room to grab a jacket; the air outside was a bit chillier than she'd expected.
Joselyn walked out of the main dining hall slowly, hoping David would get the hint and join her.
David popped out of the dining room after taking care of his dishes, and walked over to Jos with his hands in his pockets. "It's way too early to be awake," he said, still looking quite tired.
Joselyn grinned at David and shook her head. "Not get enough sleep?" she asked, starting to walk up the stairs and avoided bouncing up them gleefully just this once for the tired David. "You could always take a nap. I'm not sure if Java is up yet, but I know that when she does wake up, we're all hanging out."
"I don't take naps," David responded. "I had a bad nap experience once." He stretched his arms above his head and them brought them down on top of his hat, following Joselyn up the stairs. "Do you have the day all planned or something?"
"Too bad," Joselyn said, for she rather enjoyed taking naps. She reached the top of the stairs and head for her room.
David followed her, a bit confused by her response.
A while later, Amy walked in and sat on the railing of the stairs. She wondered about Mortimer and what he was thinking right now.
A loud ringing came from the Rec Room, it sounded like metal on concrete. A mumble of "Stupid stupid" came from it.
Amy looked towards the sounds and went back from were she came.
David hastened down to the stairs towards the recreation room, going to figure out what was making so much noise.
No more than a minute later, David returned and wait for Amy to join him.
"Something wrong?" Amy asked in a concerned tone.
David furrowed his brow a bit, confused. "I was going to ask you the same thing," he said. "I heard all that noise, and you were crying... I just..." he pulled up his hat a little bit so he could see her as clearly as possible. "I just wanted to make sure he hadn't hit you or anything like that. Did he?" he looked genuinely concerned.
"Oh! No no no....Nothing like that at all. He would never do that." Amy smiled, reassuring him. "Mortimer had a little breakdown is all. He said some things about himself that just really made me sad."
David crossed one arm over his chest and pulled on his lip a bit with the other hand as he listened to her, before uncrossing both arms and smiled a bit. "OK, I'm sorry I thought that - I just wanted to be sure you were OK," he said. "If anything ever happens, though - I mean, anything with Mort hurting himself, stuff like that, you don't have to go through it alone, OK?" He reached out and touched her arm, just to let her know he was her friend. "If my Oma taught me anything it's how to listen." He smirked, pocketing his hands.
"Thanks a lot, David." Amy grinned, meaning every word of it. "That really means a lot to me." She leaned in and gave him a friendly hug.
David squat a bit as he hugged her, careful not to get burned. Afterward he smiled at her a bit. "So, do you have everything handled in there, or do you want someone with you?" he asked, pointing to the recreation room.
"I will be fine. I don't think he really wants a lot of people to know about this sort of thing, you know? Mortimer has enough crap that he has to deal with being....well....being the way that he is." Amy explained.
"Yeah, I know how that is," David responded. "I'll just leave you two alone, then. I won't tell anyone, either, so don't worry about it getting around or anything. Tell Mort I hope he's feeling better soon," he said, taking a step back so she could go to Mort.
"I'll see you later ok? Maybe we could all hang out or something?" Amy called back to him and she walked back into the rec room, waving.
David held up an affirmative hand and smiled. He turned to go back up to Jos' room.
Not long afterwards, David returned, moving quickly down the stairs, looking over his shoulder to make sure Jos was following. He went out toward the school grounds.
Joselyn wasn't too far behind David, having paused to lock her bedroom door as she always did when leaving. She followed David out to the school grounds, curious as to what he was leading her to.
Daine came down the steps to the main entrance hall at a slow pace, taking her time as she walked.
"Hey." Casey donned an old, weathered leather jacket as she jogged easily to Daine's side. The blood mercury followed her, forming a sort of coat and cloak behind her. She smiled, and though it used to be quite a common thing to see, it looked misplaced on her face now.
"Morning, Casey," Daine said, greeting her friend with a smile. "How's the first week been for you? Sorry I've been busy and I didn't much of a chance to do anything by say 'hello' in passing; I've been busy this first week." She paused, glancing at the door to the main dining hall. "Have you eaten anything yet?"
"No, I haven't," Casey took her up on her offer. "And it's fine, you're a teacher now, you've got students and homework and class agendas and syllabi to attend to now." She winked mischeiviously.
"Yes, innocent minds to corrupt," Daine said, grinning and heading for the main dining hall for some breakfast.
Joselyn jogged through the entrance hall, waving briefly at Daine and Casey before she took the stairs two at a time.
"Shall we go in my car?" Daine asked Casey as they walked out of the dining hall. "How were you planning on getting into town?"
Casey shrugged and held up a hand, forming a little model car with her blood mercury. "Run there, I guess," She grinned at her old friend. "I wouldn't mind going in your car, though."
"Sounds like a plan," Daine said, checking her pockets for her keys, which she also had. "Normally I'd be game for running, but not after eating chocolate chip pancakes. Come on, my car's parked in the garage." She twirled her key ring around on her finger as they went to retrieve her car.
((OOC: So...shall our destination be Just Outside of the X-Mansion or something else?))
Halfway to the kitchen, Joselyn decided she'd bake a pie later since she really wasn't in the mood any longer and piddled about instead.
David came into the main entrance hall and stopped dead when he saw her. "Jos," he said. "I have brought Amy who is going to translate your crazy female thoughts into universal human thoughts so I can figure out what the hell just went down," he said.
Amy looked dumbfounded at where she was, "H-hi." she held up a hand.
"Hey all," Joselyn said, taking a seat on the stairs. "I can't promise you that anyone can translate for you, David." She smiled slightly and propped her head on her hands.
"What's going on?" David asked, standing where he was and looking com-plete-ly lost.
"Oh, you know," Joselyn said, trying to keep her cool, and seemingly just coming off as insane. "Competing."
"What? Competing with who?" David asked, and now looked even more confused than before she'd answered his question. He held his hands out, palms facing the floor, as if now ready to get down to business. "Can we not beat around the bush and you just tell me what's happening?"
Amy was speechless, ohshit, ohshit, ohshit, ohshit She HAD to say something, "It's...it's a figure of speech."
"Okay, so I was wrong," Joselyn said, flashing a grin at Amy. "She could totally translate for you. I'm not sure she'd give it to you verbatim, though." She smiled at the both of them and leaned back on the steps, crossing her legs and watching.
"Amy, what's she talking about?" David asked, looking at Amy pleadingly. He really wanted to know why everyone was acting so strangely.
Amy wished she could be so coy, but it was impossible. This was all happening so fast. "Well...uhheh." she hiccuped.
David was starting to get pretty annoyed and was ready to give up on the both of them in a minute, but he just looked over at Jos as if trying to find an answer in her face. "Did I do something?" he asked, finally.
Joselyn sighed, raising her eyes to David and then looking at Amy. "I want the girl with the boyfriend to explain for you, David," she said. "I want her to verbalize what's been on her mind. Maybe then she won't deny it so quickly."
Amy gulped and swallowed hard. If she has skin, she would be sweating. "Well....we aren't really um...dating." she hesitated.
"You're certainly leading him around on a long and tangled leash then, aren't you?" Joselyn said, raising an accusing eyebrow at the younger girl. "Earlier you seemed quite content to be considered an item."
David at this point was just standing there quietly. Things were starting to come together for him and he was beginning to understand the scope of the situation. "I would like everyone in this room to know I was joking when I said I was a man-beast," he announced.
Amy focused on what Jos has said, "Well yea...but I don't know. I'm so confused about everything right now...."
"You knew where I stood earlier," Joselyn said, sitting up and leaning forward. "Isn't one boy enough?"
"I don't know what you mean." Amy said, acting stupid.
"Oh come off it, Amy," Joselyn said, not raising her voice, but a smile twitching at the corner of her mouth. In fact, her voice was quite calm. "You know what you're doing. You know what I mean. I know you're not daft."
"Well of course not." Amy snapped back. Joselyn's pushing and pushing was really bothering her. "I just don't think anything is needed to be official or said just yet."
"Does Mort know, Amy?" David asked, after deciding he'd gotten all the information he'd needed to join the conversation again.
Joselyn shut her mouth and sat there, watching. You're overreacting she told herself calmly, watching David and Amy. Things had spiraled out of her control earlier when she'd let jealousy dictate silly actions. And it led to this fight. It led to you bringing down Amy. Everyone has their problems. She held in a deep sigh.
Amy got a sick feeling in her gut. He was a sweet guy...Mort didn't deserve any of this. She looked down at the floor and shook her head very slightly.
"Mort hangs on you, Amy," David told her. "He's pretty much obsessed... If I come within ten feet of you he's prepared to slit my throat. If you don't like him or... If you're scared of him... He should at least know."
"He said he comes on strong because he hasn't experienced anything like me before, I guess..." Amy began, "It's just a little too sudden, you know?"
"I know, but that doesn't mean you have to like someone else," David said. "Honestly, I've just always thought of you as Mort's girl."
Joselyn opened her mouth to speak but then sat back, closing her mouth and biting her lower lip. Amy probably didn't want any advice from the girl that had just beaten her down with bitchiness.
"I know that...I do." Amy stopped and thought about what David had just told her. She took his words as pure rejection without reason. She closed her eyes and breathed deep for a moment.
"Can I do anything?" David offered, feeling bad about the whole situation, but still felt like he had to talk to Jos alone.
Amy reopened her eyes, just barely. She had just gotten rejected by her crush and lost her boyfriend. Not only that but she knew that if she walked away, Joselyn would talk badly about her even more. Thoughts about how David will look at her know was apparent as well. Already he was treating her like a stranger. "No..." she whispered before heading up the stairs, passing Jos without a word or the sign of tears.
Joselyn stared past Amy as she walked by her and covered her face in her hands. You mean horrible person you she thought before standing up. "Amy, wait, it's heart to heart time for you and I," she said, chasing after her, praying to whoever governed the world that Amy wouldn't melt her for being such a bitch. "Apologies from me among other things. In private."
And David was ditched by both parties and just looked as if he couldn't believe what was happening, walking over and sitting on the stairs. Maybe Jos would come back.
The two headed up to Amy Clark's room.
As Joselyn walked down the stairs quietly, she tried not to bite her lip; it was already bleeding and she didn't want to egg it on. She licked away the blood before she sat down on the steps next to David. "Hey," she said quietly, glancing at him before looking out across the floor.
David was leaned forward onto his elbows, he looked up at Jos. First, he said "Did I mention it's too early for drama?" and second he note a tiny bead of blood emerge from her lip and her pain fled her body.
A sigh escaped her lips when he took away her pain and she looked at him sideways. "It's not like I can't handle my own pain, David," she said quietly. "I didn't mean for all of this to come crashing down. Not like this. Never like this."
David let his hands fall between his legs, his elbows stretched straight. He had something to say about her handling pain but opted out of offending her for now. He scratched the inside corner of his eye and then let his hand drop again. For the first time maybe in his whole life he had nothing he truly wanted to say to anyone, and ended up simply smiling at her, it was maybe a bit tired, the smile, but it was meant to let her know all was forgiven.
"In my head," Joselyn said with a silly smile on her face, "I would have found some witty way to admit to liking you. Some way that wasn't spurred on by a need to..." She paused, trying to find a good word and then gave up and settled for, "claim you as the boy I'd like to...ya know. Pursue." She made a funny face and put her hand on the back of her neck, taking all of her concentration to keep calm and keep from blushing.
David looked down at the floor and smirked when she was finished. "If it makes you feel better the last time a girl told me she liked me she did it by burping the letters of the alphabet to spell 'I dig David' loudly in the middle of the mall food court. Someone threw up."
Joselyn almost laughed, but settled with a big grin instead. "That probably would have been more appropriate than this," she said. "I tried to prevent it. Kind of. I guess I should have put it bluntly to her rather than beat around the bush." She let out a breath she'd been holding and put her head in her hands, closing her eyes.
"She'll be OK," David said, looking over at Jos. "You know, a bunch of mutant teens in the same building for a week, hormones are bound to fly around the place."
"I hope so," Joselyn said, head still in hands. She leaned back up and crossed her ankles, placing her hands on the step she was sitting on. "Sorry I sort of lunged at you. It was a moment of weakness on my part." She paused, not wanting him to get the wrong idea and then added, "I normally wouldn't do that among so many people. I'd do it in private."
David laughed at her. "My Vortex of Sexiness is too much for you," he said. "There's no stopping it."
Joselyn laughed and nodded her head. "So, let's pretend this never happened. And, you know, not tell Harold," she said, relaxing a little bit.
"Of course not," David said. He had kind of wanted to let Jos know he liked her as well, but now felt as if he had missed his opportunity. "I'm not going to pay alimony." He grinned at her, sitting back as well and echoing her ability to relax now, but he did continue to have a little bit of a shyness to him that wasn't there before.
Joselyn was silent for a little bit, having moved far enough back to be lying on the stairs and staring at the ceiling before she finally said anything. "Because it's going to bother me if I don't know, even though it didn't happen and all," she started and paused before continuing. "Do you feel even remotely what I might feel toward you, toward me?"
In the silence, David had joined her in staring at the ceiling even though he'd opted out of lying down, it seemed uncomfortable. His lip pushed up and he didn't answer directly, wondering how to word what he'd meant to say before. He didn't want to say something stupid and miss a chance again. "I think I might feel what you might feel toward me, toward you," he said and smiled to himself.
Joselyn couldn't help but smile, and she tried not to. "Thanks," she said. "For telling me."
David looked over his shoulder at her and then finally laid down next to her. "Okay," he said. "You could cure every single kind of cancer in the world but in order to get the cure you have to beat a bear cub to death with a wooden bat. Do you do it?"
"Is it a really cute bear cub?" Joselyn asked, turning her head to look at David as she thought about the question.
"It's so cute it looks just like a huge puppy dog," David said, looking back at her with a small smile.
"Why would I have to club it in order to cure all cancer?" Joselyn asked, raising a curious eyebrow.
"I don't know, I don't make the cancer-curing rules," David said, looking at her as if her question was stupid before grinning.
"I don't know," Joselyn said, frowning. "Bear cubs are totally adorable."
"I know, they are," David agreed seriously, watching her curiously as she made her decision. "But you'd cure cancer. All those lives..."
Slowly, faintly, a high-pitched sound came into hearing. As it got louder, it became more obvious that it was screaming. Suddenly, Java came pummeling through the roof, curled up in a ball, and bounced violently against the floor and walls for a few desperate moments before coming to a screeching halt a few feet from the door. She uncurled weakly, panting hard.
"Holy shit," David shot up, forgetting all about the bear question. When he realised what had happened, Joselyn's lip received it's pain again and as David ran over to Java whatever pain she was having lifted, and David winced and stumbled but managed to regain his balance as he got to her.
Joselyn was right behind David, oblivious the the pain in her lip when it returned. "Java!" she yelled, sliding on the floor as she came to a stop on her knees beside her friend, her face pale and worried.
Java had that odd and incredibly rare experience where she felt all of her symptoms but the pain. Her head was woozy and her leg refused to move, but nothing she did felt bad. "I, uh," She spoke faintly, and tried to sit up. "Think I fowled...the landing..a little."
"Holy shit, did you break your leg?" David said through gritted teeth, he had fallen again and was rocking slightly, trying not to hold on to his shin because he knew he had no actual injury.
"David, sit down," Joselyn said, almost demanded. "Java, I'm going to carry you down to the infirmary, okay? Don't move." With that said she slowly and carefully picked up Java, cradling her in her arms, cautious of her possibly broken leg. She then made her way toward the infirmary, telling Java how excited Harold was going to be that he would get to see the infirmary now. The entire time she was also worried about David. She didn't know how much pain he could handle or how long he could hold it. She wanted to be able to care for both of them but knew Java was the immediate concern and cradled her almost like a mother would a child, frightened for her.
"Jos!" David actually ended up standing and grabbing onto Java's hand as Jos carried her. He wouldn't be able to keep hold of her pain if she went far from him - and he knew that even if he walked on it the pain on his leg wouldn't get worse, since it wasn't his own. Keeping hold of Java's hand as it made it easier for him to relieve her he tried to keep up with Jos, as he knew she wanted to get Java to the infirmary as fast as possible, but the entire time he muttered inappropriate curses under his breath. He had a surging headache and some minor aches and pains, but mainly it was the broken leg bothering him.
Mort walked in, seemingly happy as he was arm in arm with Amy. He took a deep breath, which faltered half way since he didn't actually need to breath. He looked around at the rubble on the floor from Java falling threw the roof. Looking up at the hole he said carefully "WAnt to go to the infirmary? They might need some help.."
Amy shrugged, "No."
Mort frowned slightly "Amy" he said "There's a hole in the ceiling and no one's here." He looked around and down at the floor "I think I see blood."
"Must we?" Amy moaned.
"Blood, a hole in the ceiling and the fact I think Java did all this cause I didn't see her when I went into the forest." Mort said, glaring slightly at Amy.
"Java?" Amy asked, biting her lip. Java was still her friend and avoiding Jos and David would be immature. She took a breath and looked at Mort, "It if was Java....let's go."
frickin' woman, abandoning people Mort thought as he started to walk down towards the infirmary.
Getting some bad vibes, Amy ignored it and followed.
From deep within the mansion Mort's muffled yell of "SHE'S HUMAN AGAIN!" could be heard.
Joss entered the hall, looking arouhd trying to find the origin of Mort's voice. "Amy's room...no wait, now Mortimer Jace's room."
"Should we go see?" Morgan asked.
Joselyn walked into the main entrance hall with David after leaving the lower level infirmary. "I think Harold was last in my room," she said, heading for the stairs. "If he's not there, though, he'll be in Java's room." So they headed for Joselyn Lea Coeur's Room.
Just then the security alarm sounded threw the entire school. A telepathic mesasge from Emma followed All teachers report to the The War Room Immediatly Scott's voice sounded over the intercom "All students report to the recreation room and wait for instruction."
Tom looked up at once and almost seemed to take off from his seat. It was a knee jerk responce, alarms were always a bad thing.
Mort snuck into the entrance hall from the rec room. He couldn't die so he was going to help as best he could, or that's what he'd convinced himself atleast.
Tom ran threw the hall up the stairs, not seeing Mort because he was too wrapped in slight panic right now. Anyway, his powers couldn't see Mort. He ran back a few seconds later, heading outside.
Delaney, Kari and Kurt came threw the hall on their way to the rec toom. She spotted Mort and took his shoulder leading him back to the Rec Room.
"I CAN HELP!" Mort cried, his feet making deep scrapping noises as he tried to dig the bones into the floor "NOTHING CAN STOP ME!"
"I've done a pretty good job though." delaney said "Haven't I?" She pushed him into the rec room.
Daine walked hurriedly through the entrance hall to the door; she'd taken what time they'd had left to change into her x-suit, since it allowed her a little bit more freedom with her powers, what with slits being cut on the back so she could uses her wings as needed. As she reached the door, she saw through the window as Nimrod appeared. "Well, oh my," she muttered, walking over to the window and looking out.
Logan, Laura, Lyra, Father Wagner, Beast, Emma and the rest of the adults at the school who were without the ability of ranged attacks waited in the hall, hoping those on the grounds could subdue Nimrod.
Emma spoke to Kurt telepathicaly. Kurt, I am remaining in telepathic link with Forge and Reed Richards. They where close to cracking the secret to destroying Nimrod. If something happens to me it is up to you to link to them.
The door began to buckle and glow red with laser fire from outside. After a few moments they exploded inward.
Logan had been standing point, figureing something like this would happen. He ejected his claws and split the door headding for the group. the two pieces fell saftley to ether side of the teachers. "Smoke em if ya got em." He said grimly
Nimrod approached the group, taking a moment to scan the inhabitants of the hallway. His electoric voice echoed their names and designations. "MUTANT LOGAN DESIGNATION WOLVERIENE, LAURA KENNY LOGAN DESIGNATION X-23, DESIGNATION TALON, LYRA ELCAN RELMAN DESIGNATION NIGHTSHADE, KURT WAGNER DESIGNATION NIGHTCRAWLER, HANK McCOY DESINGATION BEAST, EMMA FROST DESIGNATION THE WHITE QUEEN. DESTRUCTION OF SAID MUTANTS IN 3... RECOMPUTING... DESTRUCTION OF MUTANTS IN 4 MINUETS 29 SECONDS."
"That's Father Wagner." Nightcrawler corrected.
"Doctor McCoy for me if you will." Beast requested.
"Um me too." Lyra pipped up.
Casey rose, a black, silent spectre behind Nimrod. Her 'body' widened and sharpened itself, rolling tracelessly like mercury onto Nimrod's surface, forming needles sharpened to a surgical point and boring into the seams in his metal exterior without a sound.
Kurt spoke telepathically in response to Emma's message, Not a problem Emma, I'm ready to link if the worst happens. Good luck.
Having apparently failed to distract Nimrod earlier, Daine flew right past his head and then up into his immediate visual range. Bright lights began to circle around her, blinking brightly.
Nimrod raised his arm and began drawing the energy that governed Daine's lights. He sucked it into his banks the same way he did Williams powers when he killed him
Diane felt her energy being drained and the lights disappeared in a matter of moments, blinking out of existence. She swooped down to the ground, landing gently.
Nimrod remained concentrated on Diane while continuing to drain her energy.
Casey finally punctured Nimrod's armor and the blood mercury flooded into his inner structure. As much as half of it made it in before Nimrod's shields closed the holes, and she jumped off the behemoth, landing on long, black spikes for legs.
"FOREIGN MATERIAL FOUND WITHIN STRUCTURE." Nimrod said "REDIRECT, PURGE OBJECT." Nimrod spun around and aimed his blaster at Casey. The blood mercury she had released withing him shot out of his blaster at rapid speed
As nimrod was distracted Logan stole the moment to attack. Laura followed his lead and they both bounded into the air. Landing on Nimrod’s back. They sank their claws in and began ripping and tearing as his armor. Nimrod rounded on the two of them and grabbed them by their necks. he transferred the energy he was drawing from Diane into kinetic energy and begin dispersing it into their bodies. they didn’t even have a chance to scream as their vocal cords where burned from the inside out. Their flesh began to turn black and red embers danced as the wind from outside brought the ashes swirling into the hall. their eyes melted in their sockets as flakes of burned skin slowly fell to the floor as the two mutants stopped struggling. By the time Nimrod was finish all that remained where their Adamantium skeletons shimmering among the ashes. The kinetic heat from the attack burned away every last cell, preventing their regeneration.
“Mein Gott...” Father Wagner whispered as the horrible tragedy unfolded before him. He could not offer much help in a battle against such a creature so he began to teleport randomly about the hall in hopes of distracting the pastel pink colored beast.
Seeing Logan and Laura fall to nimrod triggered Hanks inherent beastly rage. he descended upon Nimrod from the ceiling and began trying to bash his way into his circuitry.
Lyra took the distraction and melded her feet into the steel plates strapped along her soles. It amplified her strength level and she began to pound away at the monstrosity. nimrod released an energy blast from William's absorbed energy upon Hank. His agility thwarted the robot for only minuets as pieces of the staircase where scattered about by the blast. Once his aim struck true the scent of singed fur joined that of the smell of burning flesh. Beast roared in pain before crumpling limp and lifeless on the floor.
Lyra was more agile than Hank . But as she spun around Nimrods form, flipping and rolling threw the air phasing threw him and pulling at random circuits. Nimrods circuitry repaired it’s self almost instantly to thwart Lyra’s attempts. However Father Wagner struck her in mid teleport. The two crashed towards the ground and found themselves incinerated by the same blast of energy that had befallen Hank.
Emma stood transfixed by the scene as it unfolded before her. She transformed into her diamond form. It was the only thing that could possibly protect her from Nimrod. Nimrod surveyed the scene. Emma stood alone, fur and ashes fluttering the ground at her feet. He searched his data banks as he repaired himself. Once he found the virbrainum frequency he was searching for he unleashed the sonic blast onto Emma. Virbranium was the only thing that could pierce her diamond form. As the blast struck her, her knees buckled. She tried resisting the piercing noise. But as she fell to her knees her diamond form began to crack and splinter. Blood oozed from every splinter along her body. Her screams mixed with the sonic vibration that Nimrod released until finally Emma exploded, leaving pile of glittering diamonds in a pool of blood.
Casey dodged the rapid fire, screaming in pain regardless as the blood mercury hissed from the heat of the cannon. What did hit her was simply absorbed into her blood mercury shield. The other blood mercury formed together and trailed after her as she moved. She watched in horror as the other x-men were pulverized and decided that if a mutant whose power consisted entirely of bouncing back couldn't bounce back after being attacked by Nimrod, neither could she. Thick limbs of blood mercury shot out and threw pieces of rubble at Nimrod as she ran, retreating further into the mansion and pulling down pillars and obstacles behind her.
Daine was feeling weaker and weaker as Nimrob drained energy through her mutation even though she tried to fight it as she slumped to the ground against the wall. As she grew weaker her wings wilted like petals and disappeared into her back.
Long, black tentacles wrapped around Daine, lifting her effortlessly off the ground onto the back of a tentacle-maned dog-like black construct. It bounded off on blood mercury legs after its master, Casey. She paused behind a pillar, setting Daine down briefly. "Daine! Are you still with me?"
What seemed to be an attempt at a grin appeared on Daine's lips as she leaned her head back against the pillar. "Aye, matey," she said quietly.
Nimrod scanned the two remaining in the hall. His sensors told him that they posed no current threat. He turned and fired upon the recreation room doors. they exploded inward.
"Damn!" Casey swore at the huge robot as it passed by to the recreation room. "It's headn' fer th'treasury! Orders, Cap'n?" Black mercury rose Daine into the air and filled underneath her, forming a saddle on a cross between a komodo dragon and something big, ugly, and tough as nails. It rumbled beneath her, ready to take her where she needed to go.
"We must protect the booty, lass," Daine said, looking in the direction of the recreation room and narrowing her eyes. "No other buckaneer touches our treasure and gets away with it." She sat up straight on her mount, surveying the creature she sat upon. The tiny bit of blood mercury, Aly, that stayed with Daine slid into view on her shoulder. Daine turned her head and whispered to it, grinning, and moments later it slid up onto her face and formed an eye patch over her right eye, slightly raised so she could actually use her right eye. "Arg, that's better." She raised her hand and attempted to morph the slightest by growing fur. The color of her skin discolored slightly but then faded to her natural color. "My mutations are spent, matey. I'm not sure I can do much of anything, but we need to try."
"Aye, Cap'n," Was all Casey replied. The black mercury surrounding her enveloped her, transforming her into a great bladed thing. She sprinted to the recreation room, Daine's mount at her heels.
Arthur appeared with Kurt, being dragged out of Cerebra incase he had a mental brake down. He took one look around before he threw up over the floor and Locks clamped himself over Arthur's eyes. He stood there, shivering and holding himself close, afraid he might touch something.
A shadow portal opened up in the entrance hall. The students and remaining teachers apeared having been brought from Cerebra by Kurt via shadow teleporttion. The horror laid out infront of them. The entrance hall seemed so tiny, covered in fur, blood and the stench of incenerated meat.
del stood next to Kurt. Transfixed by what she saw. The stench of death asulted her sensitive sense of smell. The carnage that folowed her line of sight fell on pile of silver bones where eleven silver claws lay ontop, their owners having been deleted by the Machiene's rampage. She walked forward slowly, the sound of Emma's dimonds crunching beneth her feet. Her heart hardly beating, her lungs not daring to take in breath. They where gone. Logan and Laura, every last cell in their bodies scorched beyond recognition or function. The pile of bones now laid at her feet as she stared at them in disbeliefe. Suddenly a searing pain ripped threw her stomach. She doubeled over Oh no, the baby. She thought. The pain tore threw her again and she went down on one knee. "KURT!"
As soon as the others were clear of the shadow portal, Kurt closed it and ran to his wife. "Del? What is it?" He asked her as he stooped to help her to her feet
Arthur was standing in the middle of the carnage, hugging himself tight with Locks wrapped around his eyes to stop him from seeing.
"The baby!" Del groaned. She was now on both knees clutching her stomach. "Kurt... I can't... Kurt!" The pain was intense. She couldn't piece together a coherent sentence. She wanted Kurt to try to use his telepathy to sense the baby.
Casey had picked up Daine again, restoring the draconic mount she had been riding earlier. She made sure the blood mercury used to build the beast had stopped channelling electricity so her dear friend wouldn't get shocked. She watched Del stumble to the ground, clutching at her pregnant belly. Having no knowledge on the subject, she could do nothing but observe.
Kurt helped her to her feet, holding her close. He reached out with his mind, but couldn't sense anything at all. "Del, what's wrong???"
"THE BABY!" Del cried out doubeling over again "Something's wrong. Kurt..."
Kurt raised an eyebrow, lifting her head up to meet his gaze. "What about the baby?!?!" Then it hit him. He pressed his hand to her stomach and probed deeper with his mind. It has only been a week, he couldn't sense the baby's mind yet, it wasn't developed enough for that.
Morgan faltered a little from maneuvering through the mess. "What's going on?" she whispered.
"DO SOMETHING!" Del shouted.
"Mrs. Smith is pregnant." Joss said "Something must have happened when that thing threw her against the wall earlier."
"What am I supposed to do!?!?!" Kurt demanded of her through gritted teeth. He hadn't a freakin clue as to what he was supposed to do. The baby's mind wasn't even developed enough for him to be able to tell it was there
"Ohh...Did I-?" Morgan hesitated to ask, "I threw her against the wall...."
"Hospital." Del Groaned "The EMH... oh god."
Kurt wrapped them both in a shadow and ported directly to the lower level infirmary
"No." Joss hugged her close. "It wasn't your fault. You were protecting her. I would have done it if I'd been quick enough."
"But...b-but..." Morgan got a little teary. "I'm such an idiot! Damnit!! Damnit!!" she cussed and hit her fist on Joss's chest from what she had done.
"It's not your fault." Joss Soothed holding her cose to him.
"Of course it is! I'm the one who pushed her into the wall, wasn't I?!" Morgan said frantically. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." she shook her head, knowing it wasn't good enough.
A hand reached out of no where and grabbed Morgan's shoulder, it was Arthur. His eyes were still bound over by Locks but he had seemes to be able to make his way over to Joss and Morgan without stepping in anything. "it's not your fault" Arthur said gently to Morgan, his voice sounding hollow "You saved her life..."
Joss Contonued to hold her close. He was unsure of how to console her other thn telling her it wasn't her fault.
Daine was grateful when Casey's blood mercury once more formed into a mount and she gave her as much of a smile as she could manage. Quietly, she watched as Del panicked, hoping that Kurt would be able to help her in the infirmary. "Do you think she'll miscarry?" she asked Casey quietly, her eyes leaving the elevator and scanning the remaining mutants, trying to ignore the destruction.
"Here's hoping the kid is as indestructible as its mom is," Casey muttered back. "She took quite a beating back there." She folded her arms behind her back, the quiet blue electricity coursing through the tubes she made for it. She found it fascinating, but knew better than to let out her social ineptitude now by mentioning it in the face of such a crisis.
"Sure I saved her...but killed the infant!" Morgan shouted, "I think I'm gonna throw up..."
"We should probably usher the students to their rooms, away from all of the damage," Daine suggested to Casey quietly so that no one would over hear them; it wasn't hard for her to be quiet anyway, not in her state. "Everyone needs rest. And then I suppose checking on Kurt and Del would be advised..."
Kari had her babies in one arm and leaned down to Morgan, without a word, she healed her ankle and faltered a little, taking on a slight amount of the damage. She turned away and walked to a smashed window and sobbed to herself.
"That would probably be best," Casey agreed. Loudly to the rest of the group, she said, "You should all retire to your rooms. There is nothing more to do today, and we are all weary. There will be time to repair the damage and mourn the lost in the morning." She turned to Daine. "That counts for you, too. You should get some rest, Cap'n. You can keep the beastie for as long as you need him."
Daine smiled at Casey, propped up on her arms. "Thanks, matey, I owe ya one. Treasure seeking shall commence another day." Before she'd made it to the stairs, she heard what seemed to be Del and Kurt returning and turned around, returning to Casey's side to hear what might be said.
Arthur's grip tightened on Morgan's shoulder gently. "Atleast she still has a life to lead" he said hoarsly "M-many... people died here..."
Del emerged from the elevator, a sullen Kurt behind her. It was apparent that she had been crying but an anger and determination shown on her face as clear as day. She stopped in front of the remaining students. She angled herself so Kurt where on her right side and, Diane, Casey and Kari with the twins on her left. She was sure by the time she was finished talking the others would agree with the decision Kurt and she had made. With her hands on her hips she began “I refuse to accept this as a victory.” She said darkly. “We are all that are left. Everyone else is dead.” She paused for a moment as the words sank in to the students minds. “But if that... thing could come back in time what keeps us from going forward to stop it?” She paused again, waiting for an answer but none was given “I’ll tell you what... Nothing. Not a goddamned thing keeps us from preventing what’s happened... Forge can build a device that can send us into the future. If he built one in the future he can sure as hell build one now.... But you all have a choice. If we go to the future we stand remembering what’s happened. Those of you who stay won’t know. Time will most likely begin whenever we come back. If you want to stay behind we’ll understand.”
Kurt took her hand firmly and looked at the others. "We're only going to get this one chance. The chances are that if we don't travel tot he future while the timeline is still in flux from Nimrod's incursion, we won't get another chance." He looked at each remaining face before continuing. "The timeline will repair itself, and it won't take long for it to do that. If we allow it to do so, the future in which Forge created Nimrod, may never actually occur in direct contact with our own timeline, which means we won't be able to stop him from sending it back to our time."
Arthur nodded slowly, he understood it only so far and then his mind just seemed to stop. He didn't care though, anything to bring Crys back.
"Last chance to bck out and forget all this." Del said crossing her arms.
Kari wiped her tears and looked down at her twins in her arms. "Del-" she turned around and approached her, "I don't want to remember this....none of it. I can't live my life or raise my two sons without Jayn." Her eyelids were tinted red from all of the tears that she had shed.
Morgan managed to get her stomach back a little. She looked up at Joss, "Bat? What's your call on this?" A small review of what had happened ran through her head. She broke her ankle and killed a baby...not to mention Crys is dead. However, he had confessed his feelings to her and she really didn't want to not remember that.
"It's ok Kari." del said softly. "We understand if you want to stay behind. Even if we can't stop BNimrod from coming back we'll come back before the attack and we'll know how to hndel him this time."
Joss looked to Morgan "I don;t know about all this time travel fluxing stuff but if it means we save everyone by doing what Mis. Smith sys then I'll do it."
Morgan nodded and smiled, "Alright. Then...to the future?"
"I go where my captain goes," Casey said, turning to Daine. "Unless Cap'n would choose to stay behind, in which case I'd have to render myself in twain, I reckon."
Daine sat up on the blood mercury mount. "I'll help in anyway I can," she said.
Mort nodded as well, staring down at Amy "I'm up for it, are you?"
Amy nodded and crossed her arms for warmth. She was nude now, but no one really seemed to notice.
Mort made an "ack!" sound and picked her up suddenly, holding her in his arms as best he could "You're melting the floor."
"Oopsy-" Amy said, looking at the hole under her. "I wonder if any part of that mess is flux?" she asked, looking at the mess behind the students of the mangled robot.
"I doubt it" Mort said to her "But your stuff is still in my room."
" Go, hurry." Del ordered them "Cause we have to be quick about this."
Mort jumped and nodded frantically. He moved so fast his head floated a few feet infront of his body as he rushed upstairs to his room.
"Forge is still at the Baxter Building." Kurt told them. "I'll be taking us directly there." He looked at Kari, "If there's anything you need, the EMH will be able to help you for the most part, medical at least."
Kari nodded, "Thanks. Guess I'm going to have to witness my twin's birth once more." She smiled, "Good luck, you guys."
"We'll make sure that this time, their father gets to watch it as well." Kurt promised her, clasping her shoulder gently.
"Thank you." Kari said with a weak grin. Her eyes were watery and her heart was still broken. She was so glad that after they return...none of this would've happened.
Mort came back downstairs, carrying Amy and stopping at the base. He set her down, her flux suit protecting her from melting threw the floor again.
Del Grasped Kari's hand and kissed each of thw tins on the cheek. "This will work." She said "If I have to bounce back and forth threw time until I get it right it will work." She turned to Kurt seeing Mort and Amy coming down the stairs. "Let's skin this pig."
"Never heard that one before." Kurt said with an arched eyebrow. "Everyone ready? Stay close."
"Casey," Daine said, sitting up straight on the mount. "When you need your blood mercury, just warn me." She narrowed her eyes and prepared herself.
The students said nothing but it was parent they where ready. An ominious shadow enveloped them as Kurt teleported them to The Baxter Building
<b>A vortex of electrical activity ereupted in the center of the hall. Students and X-Men alike stood transfixed at what might hppen from the disturbance. When the activity cleared those who hd traveled into the future to repair Nimrod's dmge stood in the center of the room, smoking slightly from their trip.
Logan approached the group sniffing. "Time travel." He said simply as he appropached Kurt. "I don't wanna know... Where is Del?"
A moment later teh activity repeated, electricity sprking and crackeling in the hall. Del emerged once it stopped. She loked tired, haggared and 9 months pregnant. seeing Kurt she lunged on him with higgs and kises. "Kurt!" She exclaimed happily "IT worked! It worked!" She stood back and grasped Logan in a hug as well. She then turned to Kurt "You wouldn't believe it. I bounced around tiem for 9 mmonths! Finaly i jumped back to the school but ten yers ago. I got to see us when we'd first gotten together. They took me to see Forge nd he repaired my jumper." She held up the small gold box which appeared to be singed on one side.
Joss scooped Morgan into a tight hug when he realized everyone was fine and still live. "Morgan, we did it. WE helped save everyone." He said quitetly.
"Well that was eventful..." Mort said to amy, she could tell he being sarcastic.
Arthur looked around quickly "Crys?" he called out, his first words since they had left "Crys?"
"Us? No-" Morgan corrected, enjoying his hug, "They did. We tagged along."
"Yea..." Amy rolled her eyes, "We weren't even mentioned in the jump."
It may have been the actual lack of posting in the future that prevented the mention of Mort and Amy but no one will never know. If people would stop bitching and post perhaps they could be included in jumps and storylines a bit more.
"Did you hear something?" Logan asked looking around the room.
"So....we done? I'm just boning to play my guitar." Morgan asked.
"Morgan, there's someone here to see you." Logan told her. "In Professor Xavier's office."
Morgan cocked her head back and groaned, "Gaahh....now what did I do?" She looked at Joss, "Wait for me, kay?" She headed into the office.
"Can I come?" Joss asked Logan.
"It's better if you stay out here." Logan told him and followed her into Xavier's office.
Arthur was just standing there now, in a dark corner of the entrance hall. He couldn't find Crys... she hadn't answered when he had called out. He'd failed to save her before and he'd failed to save her now.
Mort looked around at the word "boning", realised it wasn't for him and turned back to Amy "So... you want to go do something?"
"YES I DO-" Amy emphasized strongly. "Anything..."
"Ta-da" Mort said as he picked Amy up in his arms and moved towards the stairs "Sloppy make out time everyone. Dont come and watch, It'll only scare you." He headed up towards his room, carrying Amy.
"ew." JOss said quietly. He looked at Arthur seeing the doleful expression on his face. "Can you not find Crys? I can help."
arthur shook his head slowly "I... Im afraid... what'll happen if I do find her..." Locks slid down him slowly and embraced him close, stroking his arm as if Locks was a brother comforting him.
"It'll be ok." Joss said "She's probably emersed in one of her gamevideos. If everyone else is alright she should be too. Comeon, I'll check down here you check the doorms."
Locks forced Arthur to nod slowly and wrapped himself around his legs. He frog marched Arthur away and upstairs, heading towards Crys and Morgan's room.
After arriving back at the school, Daine smiled at Casey. "Well, lass, I'm off to sleep for a while," she said, exhaustion etched on her features. "If you need me, you know where to find me." With that, Daine made her way to her bedroom.
Morgan ran into the room and grabbed Joss by the arm and ran him quickly into Crys and Morgan's room
Kurt smiled and embraced Del fully, lifting her into the air and swinging her around a little bit.
Arthur came back down stairs slowly a little while later. He'd looked everywhere he could think and there was no Crys. He looked half murderous and half deeply depressed.
"Hey hey hey." Del said happily "No swinging the pregnant lady."
Kurt set her down gently and kissed her.
The students and the rest of the school melted away as kurt kissed del. It had been nine months after all.
"Aye, Cap'n, you do that," Casey grinned back at Daine and gave her a wave goodnight. Her mount would return to her when she had no further use for it. She smiled to herself, pleased that she could help her old friend out. The trip had gone almost completely without a hitch, and for this, she was grateful.
Morgan walked downstairs with her luggage and her guitar on her back. She look very saddened and yet extremely pissed off at the same time. Joss was right behind her
? Joss came downstairs with her. He was sullen to say the least.
Del noticed Joss and Morgan "What's wrong?"
When Morgan spoke it was very angry and mumbled all together in a stream, "My fat-ass of a father came back and is taking me away for him to use me again. No one seems to get it but me. It's ok because when I'm dead, my point will be proven."
"She's just..." Joss began "Upset."
"I'm sorry to see you go Morgan." del said considering that she'd be brought up to speed once Morgan and her father had left.
"Thanks." Morgan said, scowling not directly at her, but at the situation.
"You want I should take care of him for you?" Casey stepped forward, the blood mercury flowing around her like a torrent. There was no mistaking what she meant by that.
"Excuse me?!" Morgan snapped at Casey, "I don't think so, missy."
"Well, couldn't you just run if he tries anything, Morgan?" Kurt asked her curiously. Afterall she was extremely fast. There'd be no possible way for her father to catch her without enlisting mutant aid.
Just then Mr. Trice emerged from Xaviers office "THere you are kitten. Ready to go? I've got a car waiting."
Morgan glared at the fat man in the white jacket. Just the word 'kitten' made her want to stab him in the neck. "Sorry I can't continue this conversation. Maybe I'll someday be back to play for you again? Anyways....bye guys..." she gave Joss one last kiss on his lips quickly. Morgan held her suitcases tightly and scowled. She cocked her head up and walked out of the school without looking at her father.
Kurt sighed as Morgan waltz out. He doubted that he would ever be able to find someone who could play that solo in his song ever again. He glared at Mr. Trice and stuck a finger out at him. "If you ever hurt her, we'll know." He figured he'd channel a little bit of Logan and added, "Bub."
Casey just shrugged at Morgan. "Well, the offer still stands for whenever you want it. Just remember that," she told the girl before she left. She gave Mr. Trice a head-nod and a quick smile void of mirth. She turned around and sat down on the staircase steps, the blood mercury forming feathers drooping down her arms and back.
"I'd never dream of it." Mr. Trice sid following MOrgan out. He gave Joss a gentel nod, committing the boys face to memory.
Joss followed them to the door and closed it behind them.
Mort towed Amy down the stares, marching along as if he had a goal. He didn't, he just wanted to seem as if he had something important to do. He pulled Amy along the hall and out the door.
seeing that he wasn't of any aparent use Logan left the entrance hall for part unknown.
Joss ran outide only to return moments later even mroe sullen and wearing a frayed black bracelet. he quickly decided he didn't want to be particulrly scocial so he left for his room.
Sudenly Delaney had a thought. She gripped Kurt's hand tighter and said "Lets go home!" She exclaimed "We've saved our present, Logan can take my classes. Laura can aid, We can have Hank or Lyra check me out and be gone within the hour. Since we lost so much time together I want to savor the last weeks of this pregnancy. So much happened while I was jumping around in time. I want to tell you all about it."
"I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think you can tell me anything about your travelling through time without creating paradoxes. Not to mention the fact that whatever you've gotten into may have also create paradoxes with which we haven't got a clue what will happen with." Kurt explained to her, squeezing her hand softly. "But I understand. Let's get Hank and Lyre to check you out."
"No I bounced around in the past." Del said "I didn't screw anything up nd the times I ended up in where connected to my history. So I'm still here, with you everything is fine." She spoke as they headed to the elevator and down to hank's lab whatever tht wiki was.
Kurt shook his head lightly. "I'm still not sure it's a good idea for you to be sharing it with me though....you never know with the time stuff."
