In July of 2007, I met this little girl face-to-face. My only princess I've ever known.

I have said this of no one else, and I don't care if I ever do, I mean it with all my heart, She has been the greatest blessing in my life. She's just such an insperation. She's changed my life.

She was Diagosed at the age of 6 with Juvenile Huntington's Disease (JHD), a terminal, genetic illness which her sisters Jacey, whom is just one year younger than me, and Erica, whom is now happily married, both have JHD aswell. Their father has now past away from it.

Going back 3 years, in November or December of 2004, I saw this advertisment in a magazine during 9th grade art class. We were assigned to look up a person's face for a certain project, and I resolved I was going to do mine of a cute little girl. After a few day's picky searching, I saw this ad, and knew it was what I was looking for. I at the time had recently taken up writing fairy tales, and upon reading the ad, I felt compelled to write this little girl one of her own.

That was the begining of the most life-changing relationship I've ever had.

this is Karli at 7 years old, one year before she enter my life. Make a Wish Foundation sent her to Disney World, where she was venerated as Princess Karli, and spent the day with Snow White. She to this day insists on being refer to as Princess Karli Belle

Ever since the day I wrote the story, I've been connected to the family. No girl has ever touchted me so, no story has been so aw inspiring, no family has ever been so close, than this one. I feel truly blessed to ever have known them.

I've never met such a saintly soul in all my life. This little princess was such a selfless, caring girl. Her story is my greatest insperation. If only you knew, but saddly I just can't find the words to describe it yet. been searching for a few years now.

I am so so blessed to have ever been in this girl's life. You have no idea how much it has changed me.

I was very blessed aswell to have been able to make it to her funeral. In her memory as a dassling princess, they gave out stickers to the guests. Though Belle was incontestably Karli's favorite, I couldn't help but take a sticker of Prince Eric. I saved the Belle stickers for the rest of the guests.

I saw this photo at her service, and couldn't take my eyes off it. It just pierced me, and she really came to life. After the ceremony, the mother asked if there was anything they could do for me. I asked for this. It is now my most cherrished photo I ever held.


The gene on which the Disease lies has been found, which means a cure is right around the corner. On top of that, Neurologist have discorved a method of restoring the brain cells HD kills, thus not only is a cure fathomable but also the effects can be reversed. It's only a matter of time before we see the last of Huntington's Disease.

The days of HD are numbered.
