Alright, here's the situation: Nevaeh and Theo meet rather hectically and end up in a serious situation. Basically she's uncovered something serious and ends up dragging Theo along for the ride... accidentally of course. I may or may not drag this out^^;;

Theo is drawn to this rather mousy appearing girl. Ever since he got to this city his psychic abilities have continued to grow. Theo was still unable to properly utilize them, especially since he really didn't understand what they were. But what he did know, was that the harder he tried, the faster he could move, and stronger he could get. When he concentrated he could hear things, and feel things, deeper than before. And as he learned to trust his instincts more, and go with a feeling or an idea, his precognition grew. Unlike the more prophetic precognitives, Theo's abilities concentrated much more under the surface. Instead of a flood of events rushing through his mind pictures and people appearing before he could ever have seen them, instead they drifted slipping into his thoughts. In his language classes, he aced his examinations, he thought he was just trusting in his instincts; while that is certainly true, really he was looking at the page and picturing the answer, and he was able to glimpse the future and know what to place based on what he saw. As he wandered downtown, he felt like he new which way to go, despite never having been there. He had a sense of Déjà vu being led into a short brown haired girl. Immediately he felt tense being around her, he could feel conflict all around her, but he was confused because she herself didn't seem in strife. Curiosity over weighing his feelings of foreboding in her regards, he approached her some more, wondering who would make the first move.

She stood glancing this way and that, her odd-colored eyes taking in the roadways and alleys calculatingly. It had taken her three days to figure everything out, and even now as she was outwardly calm, her emotions roiled within her. She'd lead them to the streets, but what now? Nevaeh alone, even with her abilities, wouldn't be able to take all of them out, not before being injured herself. The people were as gray shapes to her in her heightened sense of concentration, they blurred to her senses as they continued with their daily lives. Heavy footfalls sounded somewhere distantly, probably one of the back alleys. Nevaeh let the thought hang, "No, not the alleys." She spoke aloud as her gaze pivoted towards the sky. Two men on the rooftop, they already had taken careful aim.

Her pupils dilated as she looked up at one, sweat beaded on her forehead, she had him in her control. He struggled though as she quashed his consciousness and aimed towards his companion. The other man tightened his finger on the trigger, though fell seconds later as the first fired a silenced round into his head before turning the gun on himself. Nevaeh stumbled, the contact lost before she could finish the deed. He turned the weapon on her now and she turned to dash out of range. What she met, however, was solid flesh and she landed in a heap on the ground, startled. Forgetting, for the moment, the man on the rooftop.

Theo toppled over, as the women slammed into him. He lost his focus after hearing the first gunshot and seeing a man fall from a roof. Noticing the next one, instantly he knew what was to happen next. He put his arms around the girl, adrenaline and psyche flaring and pushing off the ground, sent them both toppling into the wall, a shot just barely missing them, embedded into the asphalt they had been on. He could see the man reloading, if they didn't move, it would go right into her chest, and if they ran it would go right into his back. "Shit, what do we do!?" he said in English, frustrated over their position.

*(I would say because of language differences to italicize or bold English ;)

"Ah, this is a predicament, eh?" She responded automatically, "This way, then." He had saved her life and inadvertently gotten himself involved in the issue she currently face. Nevaeh grabbed his hand and dragged him into an alley, not seeing what was ahead as twisted through familiar pathways. He would follow without a doubt, wanting her dead or at least maimed very soon. What to do now? She pondered that thought as she continued to move.

"You speak english!?" Theo said, surprised. But wait, if we run they are going to shoot us! Then again, they still will if they don't. Dammit, she doesn't know! Theo shoves themselves apart as a shot rips through the air they previously occupied. That trick wouldn't work again, he turned them from 1 target to two, and he knew the shooter wouldn't compensate fast enough. Theo grabbed her and started pulling her again. When he thought about it, he knew if he tried it he would aim for her. "I,...we have 10 seconds before he shoots again, if we don't find cover or something, one of us is going to get shot, I can see it, please believe me." He didn't know if she would listen or just keep running, but it wouldn't matter if they couldn't find cover anyway.

She stopped for a moment, uncertain, then turned, catching her breath. Her gaze met with the shooter for the second time, "Stay quiet for a moment... Keep an eye out for others." Her tone was calm as her pupils dilated once more and the man froze. Sweat beaded on her forehead, he wasn't as susceptible the second time around, he fought harder against her control, and for one frightening moment she thought he would break it and leave her open to attack. And then, without a word, the man stepped off of the rooftop and tumbled to the asphalt below.

Nevaeh came back to herself in time to note that there were now four sets of feet pounding down the alley behind them, "No time..." She glanced over at him, her gaze taking in his features, "There are others... Is there some place we can hide or not?"

The future changed. Now bullets were flying through them from the men on the ground, but they had more time. He could see themselves climbing through an open window on the other side of this building. "This way!" He grabbed her arm, and pulled her along with him. As they rounded the corner he could see the window. It was high up with a fire escape on it. If they were to climb it, they wouldn't make it in time. There was a big garbage bin on the opposite wall. "We need to make it up to that window, please trust me..." He wondered what he would do if someone told him that. Well, it was life or death, so maybe he would listen. "Hold on!" He grabbed her and swept her up damsel in distress style. Charged at the garbage can, propelled himself from the front of the open lid, continued his momentum three steps up the brick wall, and summoning up more strength then he had ever had before, propelled them off the wall, and straight at the fire escape. They overshot the fire escape, and he shifted, and slammed into the wall on the other side next to the window, his back taking the brunt of the force.

"This is quite the predicament..." She managed to drag herself up against the window and turned to face him, "Are you okay? That was an interesting maneuver you pulled there, what's your name?" Nevaeh brushed strands of hair free from her face, "I am Nevaeh."

"Your tellin' me honey, why are they shooting at you!" Theo said, as he moved up against her, reaching around her with his arms, and grabbed the window, shoved it open; wood splintering as the lock busted on the inside. Theo then shifted, his hand on her back to brace her, the other pointing at the open pathway. "Theo's the name, and if you don't mind, ladies first.Ask questions later, like, how the hell did you just pull that off? and why did that guy just jump off the building when she looked at him? That's right, save the curiosity for this girl, this could be a means to an end.

Nevaeh slipped through the window and turned to help him in as well, "That's a long story really. But to make it short, I figured them out and was going to turn them into the authorities... Things just didn't quite work out how I'd intended." She shrugged and looked around, the room itself was covered in layers of dust, showing that nobody had even been in there for quite sometime. Should be safe for the moment... She thought to herself.

"Interesting...well sweet, now I have no idea whether or not they know me, and if I need to be put under whatever witness protection program they have in Japan. Well, can we like...call those authorities now, tell them our location, and I dunno, get some help? Theo said all this while shutting the window they had just come through, as he took the other windows into account, and the door to this room. He wondered where it went, if they could escape through it. He wondered if she was telling the truth, or if she was actually a fugitive of the nation or something crazy like that. But of course, that would give him the exit he needed, he would simply explain that he was not an accomplice, and he would be free of harassment. But, by aiding her, he already was an accomplice, plus, somehow he didn't think she was lying. She was probably telling the truth, which would mean he is stuck in this situation with her. But at least, he has the satisfaction of being with the good guys, or girl for that matter.

"You have a phone?" Nevaeh asked, pulling hers out. Apparently it had been hit when they'd been dodging bullets, "Mine has no use anymore..." She made an irritated face.

Nevaeh glanced cautiously out the window, so far they were definitely still in the clear. Several heavily armed men ran down the alley and she ducked out of sight. "If not we're going to be here for a while."

"Lucky for us, I keep it in my front pocket, not my back." He pulled out his cell it was black with orange buttons, slid up to open, and had a rainbow colored background that lit up as he handed it to her. He ducked as she did, and leaned against the wall, under the window. "I don't know the emergency numbers here actually, I dunno what 911 is in Japan,...I suppose I ought too."

"I don't need the police just yet." Nevaeh responded, thinking quickly, her fingers slid over the keys and she put the phone to her ear, "Come on, Ein... Pick up." She muttered under her breath in Japanese, "Future reference, for the police it is 110 here." She told him.

"What!? This better be important Neveah, you got me kicked out of class." A harsh whisper roared over the line when Ein finally answered. Sighing annoyedly as he walked down the hall towards the exit, he slid a slender hand into his pocket, pulling out a pack of cigarettes. "Well? Speak up."

Wondering who Ein was, he looked inquisitively at her. He decided to use this time to scout out. Theo closed his eyes and began to relax. He could see the men wandering around some more, there was a probability that they will start to search the buildings, but he saw them splitting up to do that. "We have time I think,...it's looking good."

"Sorry, sorry." Nevaeh sighed and glanced at the ceiling, "I've gotten myself and another into an interesting predicament is all... We're hiding out right now, though I don't know how long that'll work-" The door slammed open and a shot sounded, Nevaeh dropped the phone in surprise as it was hit, "Back out the window, Theo!" Nevaeh ducked another shot and turned to the man, he froze in place, "Hurry!" She'd done it too often, her hold on the man was slipping already. She didn't know how much time she could buy for them to escape as she ducked out the window and grasped the fire escape, quickly she scrambled up onto the rooftop.

"Nevaeh!" Ein went silent when the ringing gunfire sounded through the phone, his lips curling into a snarl immediately. That damn girl is going to be the death of me... Grumbling and growling as he quickened his pace, the young male disappeared through the ground below the moment he stepped out of the building...

I was wrong? Confused Theo opened the window, and jumped out, waiting for Nevaeh to get out before running to the top of the building with her. Theo started to look around, for an escape from the building...he could jump from building to building, but could he do it with her? Rather not...Is there another way? He wondered. They might have to defend themselves, but how?

"Come on, the buildings are closer together on the north side! We can't stop moving now." Nevaeh moved quickly across the roof, she coiled her legs and sprang, tumbling onto the next building.

"Heh, Nice." Theo jumped to the next building with ease; and hopped to catch up with her.

"Don't worry, we won't have to run much longer." Nevaeh sounded more confident than she felt.

"Nevaeh!" Her name sounded out, one of the assailants chasing them seemingly 'falling' through the rooftop. Flipping to the surface came a mess of raven hair, and jet black clothing, the contorted body landing on his feet with his back turned to the pair. "Now what have you gotten yourself into this time..." He sighed out, brushing the ebony tresses from his face, and turning towards them, sunglasses covering his eyes, and a lit cigarette hanging from his mouth.

"Is this the friend you called?!" Astonished at this mans appearance. He moved through the building. Not around it, he was not there before, that's for sure,...he moved through it! The man acted as though this was an everyday occurrence as well. So nonchalant he was about it all. Come to think of it, she was as well when she called him up. Apologizing for once again asking for assistance, so they must go back and forth like this often enough. Theo recovered from his near slack jawed impression, and tightened up; awaiting for either the next assailant or some other awe inspiring revelation.

"Ein, I didn't do any of it intentionally." Nevaeh muttered, "They just happened to react in more force than I expected them to is all. I'm glad you came though. Was having a bit of trouble keeping them at bay." She glanced over at Theo, noting that he seemed to be taking things in step, which was good. He was an interesting man, and she had no doubt that he was gifted, she brought her suspicions to the surface with her next question, "How's the future looking?"

Theo replied with a grin "Good,...it's looking good. Several more men are gathering on the surrounding rooftops, and in about a minute will start shooting at us. What we will do, escapes me, but I see us afterward and we are still living, so that is a good sign. We might want to start escaping or attacking around now though.

"Keep moving, I'll keep them at bay." Ein frowned a bit, turning away from the pair. In mid turn, his eyes widened, his cigarette exploding into a flurry of tobacco and embers as a bullet passed through it. Face contorted with anger once more, the psychic turned towards the one that shot at him, a twisted grin on his face. "Go home Nevaeh...take your little friend with you. You'll be safe there..."

The future seemed to split. A flash of two futures, they stay and blood and gore, or they go...and at least they aren't there when it happens. Theo tugged on Nevaeh's arm to go, agreeing that they should flee.

"Ein, I'm not leaving you to clean up my mess, I called for back-up." Nevaeh clarified, she stepped away from both of them, "Don't let your temper get the better of you because they shot your cigarette. Think of it as them doing you a favor." She laughed without amusement.

Theo looked from one to the other. "Whatever we do, we need to do now, they are going to shoot again, this time at you Nevaeh. Ten seconds and a bullet is coming for your head if you stay there. From the eastern building." Theo said rather matter of factly,...wanting to distance emotions from their decisions.

"Pinpoint it." Ein muttered, a swirlling mass of energy slowly beginning to form in his palm. Debris around them, nails, rocks, anything loose around the three of them began to float into the air, one of which darting off with blinding speed, peircing strait through the skull of the assailant that had already shot at him. "Where?"

"Dead." Nevaeh replied, her voice almost hypnotic. Screams came from the street, she'd located and effectively taken care of him directly after Theo had commented. "He's not an issue anymore. The others?"

The western adjacent building, and the northern building, across the street. The northern will fire at me in thirteen seconds, the western will throw tear gas in ten, but the bullet will hit me first. The tear gas will disrupt us, but won't provide significant cover. The western will then shoot at Neveah, and Northern at Ein. They are communicating. We now have five seconds for the gas and eight for the bullet." Theo said his eyes closed, reviewing the future scheme of events. His head began to hurt from over using his long term precognition. He is used to only using it intuitively, not forcing it. At the same time, it's strength is growing by continued use, as well has Theo's experience with it.

Keep it open, if you can see them, I can hit them. Ein's words filtered through Theo's mind rather quickly. With his own eyes closed to concentrate, a pulse of energy shot from him as the orb in his palm exploded, sending the debris he'd collected firing off in all directions, skimming by and barely missing both Theo and Nevaeh. Opening his eyes with a frown on his face, His gaze shot to both of his comrades. "Off the roof, now." Without another word, he darted towards the next building. Jumping off the ledge, his feet seemingly made contact with the very air, yet the only thing visible as he ran was a faint blue pulse with each footstep.

"Hey Ein, promise me you won't tell Hyde about this!" Nevaeh called as she followed him quickly. Jumping was getting easier as she landed on her feet this time and whipped around, "Theo, quickly!"

Theo dashed off the building jumping up over a bullet that chipped off a piece of the ledge, tucked his arms and legs in tight, spiraling down to make himself a harder target, and fall faster. He unfurled himself as he landed, hitting the ground fluidly, and bouncing like a spring to release energy. "Where too now?"

"Nowhere, fight or die kid." Ein replied, somewhat sarcastically. Stopping completely on the ledge of the building, he brought up his palm, lashing down at the stone quickly, energy cutting a deep gash in it. Doing the same thing once more, he broke off the piece of concrete, it crumbling under the sheer force of his blows. Bringing the rubble up swirling around him, he compacted it into a shield of sorts, before turning towards the others. "IF you have any offensive skills...they would be much appreciated kid..."

Hyde nii-san is so going to kill me... Nevaeh thought, If I get anybody killed here... So looks like I'm gonna have to go all out after all... She closed her eyes and opened her senses. Seven, there were seven coming at them and two snipers on some different rooftop. It was strange how much effort they were going through to silence her, which made her think that perhaps what she'd stumbled upon was bigger than she could have thought possible.

"Abilities, what is this? Okay, I have been all Kosher about this, but seriously, what the hell is going on! I don't know hot to do this stuff! Ugh,..." Theo saw a bullet flying towards his head from a sniper, in 3 seconds. He jumped at the second story of the building opposite the sniper, and then launched himself off of the building at the scaffolding. He flipped up as the sniper had turned away to re-load. He took the gun from the startled man, and punched him in the head. He went flying, and landed sprawled on the ground, unconscious. Impressed with himself thus far, he tried his hand at the gun, putting it under his knee facing outward, and bent the gun into a v shape.

"WHy the hell did you do that?! YOu could have used the damn thing." Ein shouted, fuming once more, a bullet colliding with the sheild he'd made. Damnit...we can't keep this up much longer...I'll have to stop holding back... "Nevaeh, follow him and get as far away as you can..." His hair whisped around, slowly floating up as he closed his eyes, the wall he'd created crumbling to dust as well.

"Not a chance, Ein." She spoke in a low voice, she'd sent her consciousness out now, "There are six still... I have them in my control... but only for a moment. Get them now, while you've still got a chance..."

"Gotcha..." Ein closed his eyes, tapping into Nevaeh's and thus, there assailants consciousness. The weapons in there grasps snatched away from them, the barrels turning towards each of them. "Bang" Ein chuckled out, the ringing of gunfire sounding off all around them.

Theo frowned. Concentrated for a moment, and chucked the rifle at the remaining sniper on the other building. "I still did,...but I am not killing anyone today. He jumped to the side as a pistol fired off a series of bullets. Dodging them easily.

"Nng..." Nevaeh's concentration broke as Ein slew most of the remaining men and she slumped to her knees, exhausted, "I-I've never done that before." She murmured softly to herself.

"Train more with it then..." Ein muttered blandly, turning his attention to Theo afterwards. "Anymore that you can see?" He asked, closing his eyes once more, his own mind scanning through the area.

"No,..." Theo shouted over to him, as he dodged the remaining bullets, marveling at the ease. He knew this man was a bad shot, but he just had to wait till he ran out of his clip. Theo jumped to him, grabbed the gun, tossed it away, and punched him in the gut so hard he keeled over.
"Now,...can I get some answers? What is all this, who were these guys, who are you two, and...who am I?" Theo said all this halfway exasperated, trailing off his sentence in the end. But these people had answers, and Theo knew he deserved them. For his part in this alone, let alone there apparent connection.

Nevaeh stood slowly, wavering slightly, "Those men were part of the Japanese Mafia, though I think that with the way they reacted... They're bigger in some manner- perhaps terrorists... I've been tracking them only a few days, thought I could handle the situation but didn't have all the facts. Hence what occurred just now.

"Anyway, surely you understand that you're gifted with more than just foresight, right?" She cocked her head to the side, "Ein and I are also gifted. We've honed ours quite a bit, but am I right in thinking that you've really not done much since you don't really understand it?"

"He's got quite a few skills lurking within the depths of his mind...he just doesn't know how to awaken them..." Ein muttered in a monotone voice, his mind obviously elsewhere. "Follow us...if you want to learn what you truly are that is..." He smiled, dilated gaze clearing up as he turned away.

"Well, I was just jumping a couple stories at a time. So, precognition is what it is, huh? Well, I..." Theo replied with mild sarcasm to Neveah. He looked at Ein, distrustful. He wasn't quite sure what was wrong, if it was the way he dispatched all those people. Neveah did her share of killing, but Theo wasn't quite sure why but it felt different for her, from his perspective. They were bad men too, and it was also self-defense. He didn't really feel guilty, but this was a very strange situation. Look who's talking? Just because they know what they are doing, doesn't mean they are any stranger than you, we are all...different...you are just more ignorant of it. You don't know anything about this Ein guy, either, so don't go assuming it. You need them, if you want to know yourself. Ugh,...whatever. "Okay,...sure. Lets see where this goes. I just need to use a phone whenever we get to, wherever we go." His face displaying reluctance, and anticipation looked from Ein, and Lingered on Neveah. Waiting for someone to take a lead.

"Eh, we can go back to Hyde nii-san's place." Nevaeh responded, "Not a word about what happened though, okay?" She fixed him with a hard stare, "He's not the most accepting of my extracurricular activities as it is."

"I'm not either..." Ein muttered in passing, a slender hand slapping against the back of the girls head as he passed. Pulling out another cigarette and lighting it, the oldest of the group turned his attention to Theo, a grin on his face. And you're right, you don't want to assume the wrong thing about people... And with that last, silent comment, Ein stepped off the side of the building, grabbing hold to the scaffolding and disappearing through a window several stories down.

Theo blinked back for a moment, as Ein jumped down. Did he hear something or not? He shrugged it off for the moment, Turning to Neveah "I don't know what your talking about. You were walking through downtown today, and you happened to see poor ole' me. Desperately grappling to control my abilities, you felt the need to take me home with you, and help me out, lest some tragedy bestow us all!" Theo gestured dramatically as his story unfolded, switching from a face of pleading fear, to one displaying elated gratitude. As he finished he grinned,..."Oy vey. All right, today aside...can you give me some sort of tutorial or Faq sheet on all this? Or do I have to figure this out the hard way?" Falling out of his melodramatic excuse into concerned conversation.

"It's more of a... figure it out as you go kind of thing. If I knew how to help control your abilities I'd have a better handle on my own and wouldn't have had to call Ein for help. He's actually a good friend of my brother's... I'm hoping though that we can definitely help you out."

"Well what are they? Where do they come from? How do they work? You named one of them, can you name more?" So many questions came bursting from Theo's mouth. His confusion and irritation at the entire situation was bubbling up into one frustrated torrent of inquiries. As he talked he started walking in the direction of the road, assuming they were to use that avenue to direct themselves.

"Whoa, whoa, one question at a time!" Nevaeh exclaimed, throwing her arms in the air defensively, "I'm exhausted. Give me time to think and I'll be able to give you a hand but until then, calm down."

"Okay, Okay...I just have so many things that I want to know." Theo proclaimed as they walked towards Neveah's house.

"Here we are!" Nevaeh led him into the front of a small house and called out quietly in Japanese, "Nii-san?"

"Nevaeh?" An older male's voice came from the kitchen.

Theo remained quiet and deferential as he waited for her friend to come out so he could introduce himself.

"Inside." Ein's voice filtered through, his slender hand pressing into the small of Theo's back as he pushed him through towards the kitchen. He let the back pack drop from his grasp as he passed the couch, before continuing towards the others with Theo directly in front of him, leaving no way for him to escape. "Look who Nevaeh found..." he sounded out cheerily as his eyes met with his dear friends, a sideways glance to the girl just before.

"Nii-san, this is Theo." She nodded her head towards the doorway as Ein prodded Theo inside.

"I was worried, you know." Hyde frowned as he took in the stranger, "I haven't seen you in almost two days, Nevaeh."

"I was working on something..." She defended, "Besides, I'm here now, aren't I?"

Theo at first resisted in confusion the pressure on his back, but as he heard Ein, he walked forward as naturally as he could manage. "Hello Nii-Sama. I am Theo, pleased to meet you." Theo bowed to Hyde, and then held out his hand to shake as well. Theo enjoyed utilizing both Japanese and American greetings; respecting one and retaining the other. He also figured, if his friend had used san, he should go the next level of honorific up, despite that it might seem a little excessive, yet he was at this persons house, so he didn't think it would be too much.

"You've been hulled up in your room for the last two days anyway Hyde-san. How would you even know if she'd have come home?" Ein quirked his brow, giving a deceptive grin as he pushed past, and moved straight for the refrigerator. "But anyway, the kid she brought home is an adept..."

"The name's Hyderichson," Hyde held a hand out to Theo, "Though usually everyone calls me Hyde. Nevaeh here is my rascally younger sister. Don't let her words fool you, she gets into more trouble than one would think."

"Nii-san..." Nevaeh sighed, then, "Anyway, what's for dinner?"

"I thought I'd let Ein cook since he's in the refrigerator already." Hyde chuckled.

"What?" Ein asked, his head popping up from the refrigerator and into view. "I was just thirsty." He mumbled, closing the appliance door with a bottle of water and a piece of fruit in his grasp. "I'm goin' up to my room....let me know when the foods done!"

"Very nice to meet you Hyderichson, I...can imagine." Theo said, about to agree that Neveah certainly does seem to be a handful of trouble, but rescinded realizing that Hyde clearly isn't in favor of that. He did seem to remind Theo of Neveah, he could see the relation. This Ein character seems more relaxed, a bit more real. I wonder if that's because we are out of the field, or if he is uptight without them. "Uh, can I use someone's phone? I don't know how long I am going to be staying here, but I should probably give my parents a good call..."

"Phone's mounted on the wall behind you, kid." Ein commented, tapping the wall just beside it with his hand. "Why don't you come up with me while those two catch up...you can bring the phone with you."

"Oh, Okay,..." Theo picked up the portable phone and walked to follow Ein up the stairs. Awkward and a bit concerned at the seeming change, he simply needed more time to discern these people, he was expecting Ein to do something more like, fly off to his room alone.

Stopping once they were out of earshot, Ein turned to THeo, a frown on his face as he backed him up to the wall. "I suggest you worry about yourself a bit more, reading too far into me won't have a pleasant ending for you..." he whispered harshly.

"Um, Excuse me!? I don't know what your talking about, I didn't say anything to you at all! If you don't want me to worry about you, why you are giving me about a thousand reasons to do so?" Theo said, appalled, his voice raising.

Tapping his temple gently, Ein backed away, a devious grin. "Smart kid...but not even your thoughts are safe here, or anywhere for that matter." He turned away from Theo, motioning for him to follow once more You never know who's listening...

Theo slowly cautiously followed, suppressing the mental exasperation and exclamation at realizing that Ein had been reading his mind. He regarded him very warily, eyebrows furrowed, wondering what next.

"You may want to go ahead and make your call..." Ein muttered, stepping through the doorway to his room, waving his hand behind for Theo to continue on. "We're going to see just what all you can do..."

Theo stopped at the doorway, and then started dialing the phone. He had to dial it twice, as he still wasn't used to the new phone number, and began dialing his old American residency. "Hi, Mom? Hey, yeah...my phone is totally gone. Yeah, uh, no I dropped it and it fell in the river. Yeah, I am sorry, could you order a new one with the phone insurance? Thanks...so yeah I am really calling about how um, I am with some friends right now, and I think I am going to stay overnight. Yes mom,...Yes, I made friends, where have you been! Okay, yeah, I will be back tomorrow sometime to check in. Well, I don't have a job or anything so it's not like I am missing anything! Yeah, I don't know why Dad will be so pissed I am not there, it's not like we do anything when I am. I don't care,...alright Mom I gotta go, seeya tomorrow." Theo clicked the button, and stared at the deactivated phone, for lack of a better place to look. It was still obviously going to be awkward. He turned, "And what is that supposed to mean?"

"Close the door." Ein instructed, turning and opening his bedroom window, climbing out onto the ledge. "Lock it too." He added, reaching out for a nearby tree branch. "Then follow me."

"Uh, okay,..." Theo closed and locked the door as instructed, never taking his eyes off of Ein.

"If I decide to do anything, watching me isn't going to stop me, so you'd might as well relax." Ein muttered, holding his hand out, the branch he'd been reaching for bending towards him when he realized he just couldn't reach it.

"As opposed too? What, while your asking me to follow you, you'd prefer I watched my feet?

"Relax kid, I'm not going to kill you...yet." Ein smiled, before dropping off the ledge, the branches recoil being enough to halt his decent just before touching the ground.

"Right,..." Theo jumped out of the window, avoiding the branches, and dropped next to him.

"I wouldn't have snuck out, cept for Hyde is a real stickler for order...and he'd probably yell at me if he knew what I was about to do..." Ein smiled, releasing the branch from his grasp, the limb flying up with the recoil, barely missing the raven haired males delicate face with its lashing bristles.

"Ein's plotting something..." Nevaeh muttered to herself as she leaned against the table, "So what's it going to be, nii-san?"

"Nevaeh..." Hyde's tone was slightly exasperated, "When are you going to grow up?"

"Eh?" She blinked and straightened, "What're you talking about?"

"You're acting like you're a kid again... Always running off without saying anything, being gone for days on end... I just need you to calm down, ground yourself."

"Oh, because you're so calm?" Her eyes darkened, "Hyde nii-san, I can't stand when you do this." She swallowed hard, "Go get some sleep, I'll cook dinner. Maybe when you wake up you won't be in such a sour mood." She turned her back on him, arms crossed furiously.

He sighed and left her to herself, she only allowed herself to loosen her stiff muscles when she heard his door slam. "He always says such stupid things when he gets no sleep... I wonder just what he's working on in there." She slipped to the door of the refrigerator and propped it open, looking for something interesting to put together.

Outside. The whisper in the back of her mind froze her in her tracks, Nevaeh shook her head, trying to clear it as she made her way to the kitchen door and outside. She let out a startled exclamation and knew no more. (this just means I get to have a little bit of side-tracking fun)

"Okay, and what is it that you are about to do?" Theo said, flexing his legs. They felt strange, but no wonder, he was jumping all over the place.

"You're going to defend yourself." Ein muttered, having already thrown the first blow. His palm barely brushed against Theo's chest, but the kinetic energy he'd been building was enough to knock the larger male skidding across the ground. "Now, let's go." Small pebbles and stones, anything around Ein wafted into the air as he made his way towards Theo once more, a twisted grin on his face.

Immediately Theo curled his body into a ball reverse somersaulted with the inertia and sprang to his feet. "Your fucking crazy,..." Theo brought up his precognition and popped away from Ein, jump hopping to keep distance as the other psychic came at him. Swatting away at any debris that came at him.

"Just because you can see what will happen, doesn't mean you're skilled enough to do something about it, fight back if you don't want to die." Ein sank into the ground, reappearing a short distance ahead of Theo, sitting patiently on a window ledge. "You're going to have to do much better than that, show me what you're made of!" A cackle resonated from him, and with a swift hand guesture, the ground underneath them shook, before crumbling around Theo. "Combine your skills, use it to give you the advantage!"

Shifting to create distance between himself and Ein before Ein even gained ground on him, as the ground crumpled, he back flipped in what appeared to be a pointless display of agility. As Ein was telling Theo what to do, he flexed back and threw the rock he had grasped from the disturbed soil straight at Ein's chest at 200 miles per hour. Seeing the future of his actions if he were to marvel at casually breaking the world record pitch in both speed and force, he instead jumped a series of hops away from Ein, taking in his surroundings until he thought he found what he was looking for.

"Better..." Ein mumbled, the stone merely passing strait through him, and crashing through the window just behind. "But you have to pay attention to your enemy as well." Before it even fell to the ground, the glass shards falling behind him stopped, before firing off with blinding speed one at a time towards Theo.

"Gah!" He let out a gasp as the 3rd shard barely missed his abdomen. He dodged several others until he had maneuvered himself into the position he needed, and the future looked about as clear as it was going to get. He jumped from one shard at the 2nd floor window, unable to avoid the next shard of glass while in the air he chopped at it's flat side, smashing it away from him. As several smaller shards stuck into his palm, he smashed through Hyde's bedroom window. If the first floors window didn't rouse you, hopefully your own will. Theo sighed, as he tumbled on the floor covered with scratches and glass embedded in them.

No, but you just lost this little match... Ein leapt in through his bedroom window, landing just beside Theo. Kneeling down beside him, he held out his hand, a smile on his face. "You'll learn eventually, but that was just a mismatch, I've had years to hone my abilities...you've had just a few hours of experience from what I'm guessing."

"What the hell happened in here?" Hyde peered around a steel door which appeared where the closet should be, glancing between the pair of them expectantly, "Well?"

"I was just testing out Nevaeh's little fri-" Ein froze, turning back towards his window. "Where is she?" An odd feeling just wafted over him, something was amiss, he just couldn't quite place it. "Pick the glass outta him would you?"

"Nevaeh should be in the kitchen, preparing dinner I'd assume..." Hyde frowned, "Yet she should have heard the window break and been here too..."

"She's far enough away I can't sense her at all..." Ein turned back towards Hyde with a frown. "And the fridge door is open...." His tone was just as dramatic as if he were telling them the girl was dead inside it.

Theo looked from one to the other, as he pushed himself off from the floor with his wrists and grunted, shaking the glass off his clothing. He had minor cuts in his left hand, and his face was bleeding pretty badly from a gash on his fore head. The cut was relatively small, but head wounds always bleed more than there worth. He pulled out the piece of glass embedded above his eyes, and applied pressure with his right hand; holding his left hand limp to keep from straining it.

"Why would she..." Hyde frowned and left the room, he padded down the stairs and into the kitchen. Sure enough the refrigerator was left open, as well as the back door. "Nevaeh?" He knew she wasn't there and a feeling of cold dread slid through him as he tentatively touched the knob of the back door. His body gave a jerk of shock and then was still as he took in the scene before him, his pupils dilated, though unseeing in reality.

"The bathroom is out the door and to the right...you should go clean up..." Eing spoke in a monotone voice, eyes fixated on the doorway as he left his room, making his way down the stairs.

"You guys are way, too, dramatic..." Theo said, as he walked to the bathroom, stripped off his shirt, scavenged through a variety of toiletry items till he found tweezers and band-aids. Picked out all the pieces of glass he could find and then stripped the rest of his clothing off and got in the shower. "I wonder where she is, does this mean danger or something?" Finished showering, and put back his semi-blood stained clothes.

"What did you see Hyde?" Ein asked, his friend being one of the few people he was still unable to invade. "Should I go after her?"

"She was lured out by someone with some serious abilities..." Hyde shook his head, perplexed and worried, "I can't see much else, the trail was well covered. Except for here..." He indicated a splotch of blood on the gravel.

"Keep an eye on Theo, he's got some pretty decent cuts." Ein rubbed at his temples annoyedly, how did that damned girl keep getting herself into trouble? He wondered to no avail, taking off back towards the city none the less.

Theo walked down the stairs, to find Hyde alone. "So, whats going on?"

"Something happened to Nevaeh." Hyde stated flatly, gazing out after Ein.

"Lets go? Can we find her? Is it the guys that were after her before?" Theo asked, looking at the open door he was staring out of, and the blood on the ground. "I wish I could get a vision, thing...that would show us, but I am not really good at making the long term ones, happen." Theo took a deep breath and put his right hand on the dried blood, only lightly.

"Guys that were after her before?" Hyde's form stiffened.

Waves could be heard smashing against the side of the building fiercely, water pooled on the warped floor beneath a single chair bolted in the middle of the room, the water itself blended with clouding crimson as a man crouched beneath the woman's bent face in front of the chair. "Come on, let me in." His voice was cold though convincing, "Then you won't feel anything anymore... Then your power will provide useful to our cause."

"No." Her voice was emotionless as she glanced up at him, pupils dilated, "But you'll let me in."

He jumped back and struck her in the jaw with a hard object at the same time and her concentration was lost. She slumped forward in the chair, her strain on the bindings fading. "I'd almost forgotten about that ability of yours..." He muttered, then glanced up sharply, "This is a private viewing!" He snarled, and the scene went dark.

"Holy fucking shit! There is this guy, and she is bleeding, and he is beating her. Fuck,..." Theo took a deep breath, and winced in pain as he realized that he reeled backwards and his hand flared with pinpricks of pain as he braced himself with it. "Okay, let me think. They are by water, like a large body of liquid, inside some building. The building is letting water in, she is sitting in a chair with water up to her ankles about. She is fastened to chair attached to the floor,...a strange warped kind of floor. This guy was talking about getting into her,...I think her mind. He asked her to let him in, and she refused. She tried to posses him, but he hit her really hard with some, blunt object when she tried. Then, even wierder, he looked at me, but its so strange, since the vision wasn't like in first person, I wasn't standing in any particular place, I could see it all, from different angles and everything, but when he looked up I felt like he looked at me. He was angry and told me it was private, and then it all ended. I think he ended my vision. She is in a lot more trouble than I thought! Do you know where this place is? Like the building was literally being hit by the waves and water, so it's not a normal establishment, no factory or anything would ever build themselves against the water unless that was their business or something, I dunno..."

Hyde frowned, "I'm not sure..." He pulled his cell phone out of his pocket as he ran back into the house for a moment, he came back with a set of keys, "Let's go." His voice was firm. Pick up, Ein... he thought, whatever situation Nevaeh was in... Ein needed him there, at least for his ability to block the powers of others however temporarily... This man was much stronger than he could figure if he could block Nevaeh and Theo's powers like that.

"I know, and I'm on my way." Was all Ein said before hanging up the phone again. He had noticed a while ago he was being followed, by a fairly decent adept at that, but unwilling to bring attention to the situation just yet, he left everything vague, and continued on towards the docks.

"Do we know where we are going?" Theo asked as he ran to the car he assumed was Hydes. He was really anxious, as well as annoyed. He wondered how this just happened, while they were all there. I mean, he didn't have a vision but this guy seems to have the ability to influence that. It's probably because this guy is really that strong, but that only made Theo more worried. Plus, he knew when to strike, while he and Ein were sparring,...he grimaced in remembrance and the pain in his hand. So that neither of them would notice. "Oy."

"Near the ocean there are a few old buildings that are sinking into the water. I assume Nevaeh is there." Hyde threw his phone to the floor in disgust and floored the accelerator as they squealed down the road, "We've got to get there before Ein though, otherwise he doesn't stand a chance."

As he got closer and closer to his destination, this sinking feeling began to set in. Something didn't feel right, it was almost like he knew what was going to happen without knowing. He'd always trusted his instincts before, and he wasn't about to stop now, after all, its what's always kept him alive until now. Deciding to wait a bit, he turned around to the man following him, giving a wicked smile before waving him off. "Bye now." He taunted, before sinking into the ground, and disappearing from sight.

"Oh,...that bad huh? Awesome." Theo sat back in the car. "Is there anything you can tell me before we go off to fight some other psychic? I mean, I have known about all of this for approximately 6 hours or so now,...so yeah. If I could get a little bit more filled in, that would be great." Theo said, hoping that someone could tell him a little more about anything. He was off to presumably fight some sort of really strong psychic, strong enough to block all there powers and to strong for Ein, who frankly seems really strong so it seems ludicrous to fight someone stronger.

"There's no need. When I get there... I'll be able to block his powers for a few minutes at least." Hyde gritted his teeth, "If I can get there before Ein... He'll still be able to wield his and have the advantage."

"Darn,..." Theo said, gripping the door and the Oh-shit handle, as his mom calls it.

"Hold on." Hyde turned the wheel roughly to the left and they were now careening towards the water, he hit the brakes hard and swerved into a park, twisting the keys out and opening his door at the same time, "One of these buildings, we need to find her quickly." He said softly.

Stop, what are you two doing here!? Ein's voice echoed through there minds. He was nowhere to be seen, but he was definitely there, waiting for his chance to strike. I haven't found her yet...but I can sense her again...but just barely so I know she's here.

Your opponent is a powerful psychic, Ein. I'm going to disable him. Stay back until I find them or you'll be caught with it too... Hyde glanced around.

Theo got out of the car, looked at the five buildings, and couldn't determine from the scenery which one was the one he saw. But then a blast of pain came to him from the second to last building. Theo woke up a moment later, blinking away the pain, with the clear impression Neveah in his mind. "She is radiating pain, like nobodies business! She is in that building!" Theo got up and pointed at the building of choice, and began running towards it. The pain becoming more clear as he got closer. It was like a strange headache. Then it became almost clear, his face felt swollen and bruised, from the wound she had obtained. He felt weak from loss of blood. Yet at the same time, his body was still plugging through and running at good speed. It was such a strange dichotomy of experience.

Hyde caught up to him quickly, "Theo, you're going to feel mildly disoriented for a while." He huffed as he dragged himself ahead, "Don't get too close, I don't think I could guarantee your abilities if you're within ten feet of me. I'll go in first, knock out his powers, then you and Ein... wherever he is, can join, understand? It's too dangerous otherwise..."

"Oh, Okay,..." Theo stuttered for a moment, as a flash of stubborn anger flared through him. He was reminded of the man he saw in the vision, and it was clear that she was very angry and refusing to cave to whoever he was. At the same time, he could feel how much pain Neveah was in. He couldn't make out what he was doing to her anymore, the sense was shifting in awareness. But whatever was happening the man was trying to use pain to break her, like break her open. He could feel this man attacking her psyche, how he didn't know, but using everything to get at her. Her stubbornness filled him with resolve. "Okay, I will stay back, you go in, and I will follow after you give a signal of some sort."

"You'll know when to go in." Hyde replied grimly. Ein, you'd best stay back or you'll be hit to, got it? He paused, hand wrapped tightly about the knob of the door as he waited for Ein's response.

I know I know, just get it over with. He cut off afterwards, rising from the ground beside Theo with a frown. "You know, I could have handled it myself..."

"Good, so if it all goes to shit, you can handle it by yourself anyway." Theo said, gritting his teeth. Tired and stressed out, the emotional feedback was getting him, but he was too wrapped up in it all to try and counteract it. The brand new ability was feeding him a whole other sense, and it worked completely different than his other precognition. While they were both seemingly telepathic functions, their use was like the difference between driving a car and riding a motorcycle. Theo wasn't able to figure it out. "All I want to do is get Neveah and jet out of here. When we get the signal I am charging for her, she is in a chair that is bolted to the floor, and she has been badly hurt both mentally and physically. I will get her out of the chair, and we will go straight back to the car. You can have this psychic BASTARD! And make him hurt!" Theo shuddered, and continued to stare at the door Hyde was about to open.

Too close, Ein... If I can shorten the distance to ten feet you'll still get blasted. Hyde cautioned as he burst inside. A faint thrumming filled
the air, almost as that of a heartbeat. Go...

"Theo, come with me..." Ein whispered as quietly as he could, nudging the male beside him gently, before beginning his retreat. "We're too close...we'll be caught in his pulse if we don't move."

"oh, okay,..." Theo moves in the direction he was prodded into, in an almost daze. Never taking his eyes off of the door for when they could enter it.

The thrumming grew louder, more intense, until, with a loud 'pop', everything was silent. Hyde stumbled backwards out of the door, "Go," his
voice was hoarse.

"Let's move..." Ein grinned a bit, before darting forward quickly. Jumping towards the building, he just passed strait through the tinted window, hands pulled up to his chest. Landing, and simultaneously thrusting his hands out to his sides, everything in the immediate area shifted, tables chairs, people being flung in either direction. "Nevaeh!" He shouted, another pulse of energy blasting from him, splintering wood up from the floor and walls around.

Theo ran into the building through it's open door. He jumped as the last second as a chair almost cut his feet out from under him. He didn't know where she was, but he could feel her. He ran straight into another door, and kept going, Right through it. He kept going until he saw water running out of another door, and kicked it in.

Nevaeh was in the center of the room, alone now, the floor beneath her was bowing sharply. Wood splintered and the water rose. She glanced up briefly as she continued to jerk fiercely at her bindings and the room continued to groan- whether it was just age or the force she was using to try and free herself was unknown.

"Nevaeh..." Ein spoke almost in a whimper when he saw her pitiful figure fighting relentlessly still. "Hold on, I'm coming." A spark ignited within him, waves of energy just washing over as he walked through the room. Her bindings were severed by an unseen force, the floor beneath him creaking and splintering with the power he was resonating with.

Nevaeh smirked, "Bastard ran when he realized you were here." Her voice was hoarse, "Went that way..." She managed a jerk of her head towards another room further back, "Probably took a boat." When she realized that her bindings were gone she slumped back into the seat.

"A boat, huh?" Ein grinned once more, darting off. The door to the back room caved in as he grew near, being flung deeper into it. "Oh where are you?" He called out, his tone oddly care free.

Theo ran to Nevaeh and carefully lifted her from her seat. He held her in his arms, damsel in distress style once more and started to run back out of the building. "He looked at her lacerations, and couldn't think of anything to say. He already knew how she felt, he much it hurt. Besides, anything could wait anyway, he needed to get her outside, to the car and Hyde.

Hyde ran over to Theo as soon as he exited the building, "Nevaeh!" He gasped in relief, then sobered as he took in her various injuries.

"It's okay, Nii-san... Not as bad as it looks. We'll head home, get some rubbing alcohol and gauze and it'll all be fine." Nevaeh said slowly, she managed to keep her voice from quivering.

"Hey! Get back here!" Ein shouted, a concentrated blast firing from him, tearing clean through the boat skidding across the inlet. "Who said you could leave yet...?"

As Theo let her down, he turned back to see Ein destroying the skif. Relief spread through him, or was it her? He wasn't sure. He awkwardly opened the door to the car, maneuvering his hand around the handle while holding her. He then set Neveah down, paying no mind to any wet or blood stains she might make on Hyde's car. He pulled the lever to the side of the seat, adjusting it to allow her to lie back. It was slow and steady, but he realized only when his body stopped hurting from Neveah's wounds that whatever connections he had made had ceased, for the moment at any rate. He felt fairly tired, but as the days exertions weren't yet finished, and he was still way too keyed up from the whole experience that the adrenaline would keep him going well enough. He ran over to Ein's vantage point and watched as he yelled at the sinking skif.

The man vanished beneath the water.

Nevaeh leaned back in the seat, closing her eyes and drawing a sharp breath. She had quickly shored up her defenses, cutting herself off from Theo, she could see the suffering in his gaze from what she herself had been through.

"Nevaeh, you're not funny." Hyde said deadpan.

Even as his own empathy faded, it was abruptly cut. The last of the connection broken, he couldn't even feel Neveah anymore, and the power receded entirely, leaving him with a dull ache, all the emotion he was surrounded with gone. Almost a strange sort of wound, it was painful enough having the extra sense jar open his mind, as a steak would open one's heart, but now having the implement of mental and emotional impalement abruptly retracted, it left him with a gaping hole, from which to bleed. His mental energy sputtered, and wasted itself with empty waves, as though attempting to find another outlet for the blood to flow, the sand around him rippled outward at each step he took, moving back to the car from Ein's station at the water. He could pay no attention however, as it took all he had to make it to the drivers side rear door, and fall within. Consciousness receded, and his mental powers lay dormant once again.

"Huh, too new too the game to play it." Ein sputtered, watching Theo drudge through to the car, drained and seemingly void of life at all. Turning his attention to Nevaeh next, a vicious frown broke through his calm demeanor, hands balling at his sides when everything had time to just sink in. "You ever do something this stupid again, I'll kill you myself!" He barked, eyes shifting once more to the bubbling water where the tattered boat sank.

"This wasn't supposed to happen." Nevaeh replied flatly, "I wasn't expecting anyone in that neanderthal gang to be gifted. I made a minor mistake on my part with the assumption, but even so they should have never been able to find our home." She made a face, "Either way, can we get moving? I'd really like a hot bath and to crawl into my bed for a few hours... or days."

"You underestimated them...don't make that mistake again. Your brother and i might not be able to save you a second time..." Ein was much calmer this time, a soft, almost relieved sigh escaping the tense male before he turned, heading back to the car as well. "Might as well go I s'pose, the kids already out cold, and she's gonna follow if she isn't treated soon..."

"I already said I'd underestimated." Nevaeh growled, leaning back in her seat in agitation.

"Nevaeh, are you sure about the hospital?" Hyde slid into the driver's seat and glanced over at his sister uncertainly.

"I don't like hospitals. If I'm conscious and coherent I'd much rather just go home." Nevaeh responded tersely.

"Let's just go...I'm sure someone was bound to notice all the ruckus so it's not going to be safe here for much longer. Once we get home, then we can decide how to handle everything." The psychic was calm as he spoke, climbing into the car and pushing the unconscious male out of his way without another word.

"I know." Hyde pulled away and traversed the streets back to their home in silence.
