Trolls are huge and resemble stone. Their skin is reputed to be as hard as stone, in the daylight they turn to stone.

They have elephant-like skin which explains its resemplance to stone. They also have bone plates under their skin, similar to that of the giant land sloth. Their turning into stone durring the day is a myth, they are nocturnal and sunbathe all day long asleep, often never moving and barely breathing.
