Tournament Battle 5
Team Swiftlash vs The Whitelocks!!
Referee Nickademus walks into the Arena in his heavy armor, he paces around as he mumbles, the crowd is getting impacient and the time is almost over, the warriors better hurry.
Oda entered the arena, quite surprised that he was the first here. He drew his blade and waited for Celest and his opponents to arrive.
Sh'nik and
Mela arrive and await the entrance of their second opponent.
Sh'nik puts on his bamboo hat in place of the leather helmet.
Celest walked in the arena her tail twitching slightly. She took her place next to Oda and drew her staff. She made a test swing and then waited for the last fighter to arrive
Oda threw sh’nick a disgusted look. Although he had entered the tournament with a lynx partner, Oda had a distinct hatred for all the catfolk clans. He readied himself to attack, eager to slay the foul lynx that stood opposite.
Nickademus walked to the center of the Arena and, looking at the contenders, he yelled. "Begin!"
Combat has started!
The turns are as following - Oda, Mela, Sh'nik, Celest!
Oda's turn! -
Oda set off with a sprint towards Sh'nik, hoping his speed might give him an edge. When he reached striking range he lashed out with his Epee, flicking his wrist at the last possible moment to place a thrust at the lynx's torso.
Sh'nik steps sideways and blocks with his bow.
Sh'nik's block didn't do much to help him, luckily for him, Oda miscalculated the blow and Sh'nik was able to escape unhurt!
Mela's turn! -
Seeing that Sh'nik was ok ,
Mela jumped in the air and attacked Celest with her Katana.
Celest quickly leaped out of the way so Mela's Katana would hit the arena floor harmlessly.
Though Celest jumped out of the way at the right time, the Katana was a bit faster than her and scratched her right leg dealing 1 damage!
Sh'nik's Turn! -
Hoping Mela's attack on Celest sufficiently distracted her and had her off balance,
Sh'nik immediately looses an arrow at his fellow Lynx, Celest, aiming for the torso, the largest obvious target.
Celest used the downward momentum of her leap to duck down quicker then she would be able to otherwise.
Celest ducked just in time and avoided the arrow, which passed by so close she could almost feel the wind it displaced.
Celest's Turn! -
Celest swung her staff upwards
towards Mela, also thrusting up from her crouching position using her legs to add power into the swing.
Seeing that Celest is going to attack her ,
Mela put her Katana in defence and waited for the attack.
With the side of her Katana, Mela was easily able to deflect the blund edge of
Celest's staff!
Oda's Turn! -
Seeing Sh'nick preoccupied with his teammate,
Oda tried to take the lynx by surprise. With his raised epee he aimed at Sh'nick's throat.
Sh'nik saw the incoming blow and quickly ducked.
Luck was on Sh'nik's side this time as he ducked fast enough to avoid most of the blow and take only 1 damage and a cut on the cheek.
Mela's turn! -
Mela swung at Celest with her katana.She aimed to her hand.
Celest avoided the blade by once again jumping away, also pulling her hands away from where the katana was coming down.
Celest was able to pull away from the slash by jumping and balancing herself with her tail.
Sh'nik's turn! -
Hoping to catch Celest off balance,
Sh'nik quickly fired an arrow, aiming at her gut.
Celest jerked away realizing another arrow had been fired at her, stumbling sideways.
This time, Celest was not fast enough, the arrow struck her in the chest as a hammer and threw her backwards, rendering her unconcious while dealing 15 damage!
Oda's Turn! -
Seeing his partner fall but not really paying much mind to it,
Oda tried to use it as an diversion to take out his opponant. Taking his blade he thrust it at Sh'nick's torso.
Sh'nik, seeing the power thrust, leaps backward away from the blade.
Oda manages to stick his blade into Sh'nik's side before he can leap away, dealing 6 damage but missing any vital organs!
Mela's turn! -
Seeing Sh'nik in pain ,
Mela hurried herself and swinged her katana towards Oda´s torzo.
Oda tried to dodge the blow, jumping backwards to avoid the slash.
With astounding speed, Oda manages to avoid Mela's slash by leaping safely out of the way.
Sh'nik's turn! -
Hoping to catch Oda distracted by his leap,
Sh'nik fires an arrow at his stomach.
Oda tried to keep himself aware of the two opponants while he attempted to duck and roll away from the arrow, trying to put himself between Sh'nik and Mela.
With the same astounding speed as before, Oda dodges the projectile
Oda's turn! -
Oda grinned mockingly at the lynx as he lashed out at Sh'nik's neck.
Sh'nik ducks and rolls.
Shnick tried to roll away as he ducked but Oda was faster, slashing at him with his sword in the opposite direction, the sword struck Sh'nik's neck directly, sending his head backwards as his body tried to move forward and breaking his back. Finishing the slash, Oda severed his oponents head and dealt 20 damage!
Mela's turn! -
Mela jumps in the air and slashes at Oda with all her power trying to hit him in the neck while he is still unprepared for her blow.
Hoping that the powerful blow would lack accuracy,
Oda dodged to the side so he could prepare an efficient counterattack.
Once more, Oda was able to dodge the blow, but barely, as he could almost feel the passing of the Mela's blade displacing the nearby air.
Oda's turn! -
Taking his blade,
Oda again tried to decapitate his foe with a slash to her throat.
Mela held her Katana as strong as she could in defence.
Oda tried to slash Mela but she was able to stop the attack with the side of her blade!
Mela's turn! -
Mela tried not to make the same mistake as the last time , she slashed at Oda focusally and with all her power.
Being more aware of his opponent,
Oda tried to swiftly dodge the blow.
Once more, Oda was able to evade the blow by moving out of the way at the right time!
Oda's turn! -
Oda lost patience with Mela's strong defence and slashed at Mela in rage.
Hoping that Oda´s rage would have an effect on his blow
Mela tried to move Odas blow in other direction with her weapon.
Mela quickly raises her Katana and meets Oda's strike, his blind fury making it easy for her to redirect the blow to her side!
Mela's turn! -
Mela , seeing that Oda is starting to loose his patience and focus , turned around and tried to throw Oda´s weapon away .She tried to do it with elegance and focus as well as power , and not to repeat the same mistake she did a few moments ago.
Oda tried to spin away from the attack, hoping to use the momentum of the spin to knock Mela off guard with the hilt of his sword.
Oda succesfully moved out of the way, dodging the attack, but he was not able to touch Mela with his sword!
Oda's turn! -
Oda lashed back in hope to catch Mela off guard.
Seeing that her move didnt effect Oda at all ,
Mela moved from attack to defence mode. She tried to block the hit.
Oda, tired of the ongoing battle, decided to end it once and for all, spotting a hole in Mela's defense, he attacked the spot with full strength, cleaving through Mela's chest with his Estoc and dealing 14 damage!
Battle has ended!

Oda leveled up!
"Congratulatio
ns!" said Nickademus walking to Oda and handing him his money. "Now you get to choose one item from each of them!"
Oda wiped his blade across his robe leaving a bloody streak. "Well the lynx's head would make a nice prize but I'm guessing that’s out of the question." he grumbled, examining Sh'nick's head. "I'll take the bamboo hat" he finally decided
"And... from the other one?" asked Nickademus gently.
Oda also took Mela's bamboo hat, figuring they would fetch a decent price. He bowed then left the arena.
Nickademus sighed as he looked down at the mess Oda had made. He quickly re-attached Sh'nik's head to his body and cast raise dead on him, then went towards Mela and resurrected her too. "There, yer good to go."
Sh'nik rubbed his neck absently. "Thanks, I guess." He looked over at Mela. "Back to the drawing board." As he waited for Mela to get up, he looked down at Celest, who did not seemed to have been revived. "What's her story?"
"Dunno..." replied Nickademus "her sould appears to have departed from the Arena... so we can't revive her.." he shrugged as he waited for Mela to wake up.
"Interesting. How does that happen? And is she available for looting," asked Sh'nik.
"It just happens, the sould sometimes just wants to rest and leaves before the body can be reanimated, and no, she is not available for looting." replied Nickademus as he picked up Celest's body. "She, and all her posessions will be given a proper burial."
"How unfortunate. On both accounts," said Sh'nik.
"Yes" said Mela. She heard the conversation. "Shnik, shall we...?"
"Yes, let's go. We have things to do," said Sh'nik, as he pulled out his old leather helmet and put it on his head. He left for the Lemirian Colosseum.
"Bye , Nick..." said Mela and she left for the Lemirian Colosseum.
