Poem's Title: Blind
Poem:
She was almost blind
She kept trying to see straight
But she was shutting her eyes to him
She was blinded by her hate
Then finally she said goodnight
She turned out the light
And her eyes stung in the darkness
Feeling her release come way too late
After that she tossed and turned
At how rage controls her life
And how hatred discerns
She got up to get some water and left the glass by the bed
She found a blanket on the couch
She just got tired
And slept there instead.
She kept waking like someone was burning her skin
She kept crying with the feeling that the end must begin
And she never saw him sleeping
She only heard him wake
And the hatred she was blinded by
Only let her see someone fake
Now when she touches him she swears
She used to love him
But he burnt deep
And hatred burns deep within
She's darkened by her tired, angry sight
And she wants to sleep
But she can't find the light
Or the glass for her water
While being blinded from within
A blanketed couch is no place for her to find
A comfort from the love
That has left her blind,
So blind.

Poem's Title: Hey, God?
Poem:
I walked through graves today.
The cemetery's cold.
The graves…well so are they.
But here are stories told.
This woman, Lord, she died.
She died to save her girl.
She starved herself to death, my Lord,
So there'd be food for Pearl.
This man, my Lord, he died.
You see, he found it fit,
To jump before that speeding van.
The boy he shoved's not hit.
But Lord, I've got a question.
You see, that mother there…
She always wore a Star of David
Tied into her hair.
And Lord, that hero there,
The one hit by the van,
You see, he spent most every night,
Just reading the Quaran.
So Lord, I've got a question,
‘Cause pious people tell
That ‘cause they called you something else,
They're going straight to hell.
And Lord I just can't see,
Just how they died in vain,
And how these heroes gave their all
And yet still scream through flame.
So Lord I'll ask a favor.
A simple thing, for you…
If good and righteous heroes burn,
And never live anew,
And all because they changed your name…
Then Lord, please damn me too.

Poem's Title: Fey Knife
Poem:
I've done it before
There's nothing to wait
I'm still to the core,
Waiting for it to dissipate
The knife in my hand
So cold and so sharp
I can feel the demand
Plucks my heart like a harp
It trembles and quivers
Seeking my blood
My still body shivers
My thoughts thick as mud
The blade seems to go
Without my want or will
Without my yes or no
My breath seeping shrill
It connects, it finds
It presses deep in
The letting of blood binds
My head buzzing din
Again and once more
Until it's satisfied
Into my arm it bore
To my arm it is tied
I wrench it away
I gasp and I pant
The knife, it is fey
I rave and I rant
The knife sits there still
And will happily a wait
My life, my kill
To add to its plate

Poem's Title: Pain
Poem:
Sadness, depression
Deprived of expression.
Hiding from your fears.
Holding back the tears.
Someone you've lost,
Your happiness, the cost.
No one seems to hear.
No one seems to care.
The grief is strong,
And not before long
You will see.
When it consumes me.
The pains of the past
The horrors will last
The pains of the present
The gloom, a resident.
Sitting on the pier.
Letting all the tears.
To the sea, all my regrets,
I will try to forget.

Poem's Title: Break and Run
Poem:
Look on sweetheart 'cause nothing's what you thought,
Your worlds falling under everything you've fought,
You took it all in stride but never learned what they taught,
So look on sweetheart, by tomorrow they'll have forgot.
Finish up here darling 'cause we're gonna miss our train,
Bring your umbrella cause this storm's about to rain,
I never meant to hurt you, she only meant to cause you pain,
She's kept you bound and now its time to break her chains
Take my hand now honey 'cause we're gonna run away,
Cause you can take it, but I can't face another day
On what was once clean cut the edges begin to fray,
Just don't say that, please don't beg for me to stay.
Look on sweetheart 'cause we've got nothing here,
Leave it all behind now, all your anger and your fear,
I'll hold your hand and I'll kiss away your tears,
Hold on just a little longer, the coast is almost clear.
