Yue wandered into the lab without looking up, focusing on keeping the blood samples in her hands in some discernable order.

"Ohhh~ Soooo many devices...Oh this is new..Oh and look at all the books!!" Meko said as ran around the lab.

"MEKO SIT DOWN FOR YOUR CHECK UP!!" Maniko demanded.

"Eep! Don't touch that, please!" Yue's eyes widened.

Meko's hands raised up into the air. "Sorry!"

"Please have a seat so we can get this over with," one of the male workers said seeming worn out.

"The twins have an appointment today?" Yue blinked. "I thought all we had was that pick-up for Weapons Development in," she glanced at her watch again, "THREE MINUTES!? Here, take these. Betty already labeled them." She handed the samples over to the other worker and ran to the blood fridge to remove the vials of her own blood.

"They're using your blood for weapons again?" The man asked as Meko sat down.

"Of course." Yue chirped. "I don't take all those samples because I like needles~" She set down the plasic box of slots filled with vials and counted the vials, replacing the lid once she was done. "Whoever it is this time should be here any minute, now..."

"*Sigh* They could have cloned you more then thirty times now, with all the blood you give them." The man replied as the door opened.

"It's no big deal. I'm a natural resource~" Yue chimed before turning to the door. "Are you here from Weapons Development?"

"Yep..just need the blood samples." A young red headed man said, he was wearing a lab coat that looked a little to long on him and had head-phones on.

"Alright~" Yue said, sealing the box. Then she noticed the head-phones. "Oh. Is the music on too loud?"

"Huh?! Oh no, just listening to my own music." The boy replied as he flipped a switch on the head-phones and pulled them down around his neck. "Thank you." He added taking the blood samples.

"You're welcome~ When do you think the next delivery will have to be?" Yue chirped.

"Hmm hard to say, we have alot of new weapon ideas....I'll say a month, for now." The boy replied.

"Right then. Good luck~" Yue chirped.

"Thanks!" The young man replied as he left.

"Here's the blood samples, Yue...Meko sit back down!" Yue's co-worker said handing over the blood samples.

"Thank you~" Yue chirped before turning to the twins. "Why do you two come down here every month, anyways? Most people prefer to have Betty take the samples."

Meko looked at her left arm. "Well it's because...My left arm is all robotic...so I have to get my check up here or the weapons lab...usally someone come to my room for the check up." She explained.

"Oh. Well people do tend to barge into Betty's clinic, I suppose." Yue chimed.

"Your the fourth person to find out." Meko said as Yue's co-worker pulled a pen looking thing out and pressed diffrent areas on Meko's arm intell what looked like skin raised up revealing the robotics.

"...Actually, it's in the classified section of your file." Yue chuckled nervously. "I just never really thought about it until now..."

Meko got a look of shock that then turned to a "I've been filated." look. "Th...that was..my personal file.."

"Yep~" Yue chirped as she began warming up machines, not looking back at Meko. "I'm not an intern, you know. My security clearance is at the same level as Betty's." She paused before turning back to Meko and blinking at her. "No, actually, that's wrong. Betty only has limited access to Weapons Development records and isn't liscensed to run these machines..." Yue had a thoughtful look on her face. "...She does have higher clearance than me with the security office and more access to criminal and psychological records, though. So, yeah. I was right the first time." She grinned. "Same level, different sectors~"

"Wow...hehe Guess you really cant hide anything from the government, huh?" Meko said looking at her robotic arm.

"Not when you're in it, at least~" Yue chuckled.

"Haha yeah....GAh!! Is it supposed to do that?!!" Meko asked as a fairly thick metal covered her arm.

"Oooops it locked me out...I'll have it back open in a sec." Soron replied.

Yue laughed nervously before turning to Maniko. "Do you need your blood drawn, too? Or have you already had it taken for the month?"

"Already..taken." Maniko replied as she looked at her sister's arm nervously.

"Ok, then~" Yue chirped. "Would you like a seat while you wait? It might take a while... Soron always does a very thorough job when it comes to the tech."

"Okay...He's hacking my sister..." Maniko said watching as Soron got a big grin and his hands blured.

"Mhm." Yue hummed as she started placing samples in one of the machines. "He does that. Don't worry, he'll put everything back to normal once he's done~"

"Oww~ This won't do at all...to out-dated..I'll just pull it outt." Soron said with a smile as he removed a wire from Meko's arm. "There! the nasty little thing is gone..and I'll put this beauty in it's place."

Yue blinked. "...Or not." She turned to Maniko with a smile. "But he knows what he's doing."

"I know..it always makes me nervous though." Maniko replied.

Yue blinked. "Why?"

"She my sister!..W..what if her arm exsploids!!" Maniko said.

"Noise, noise!" Soron said annoyed as Maniko quited down.

"Like I said. Soron knows what he's doing. Your sister will be fine." Yue chirped with a smile before turning back to the machine. "Besides, he would let anything blow up down here. It's where he keeps all his gadgets~"

"Okay~"Maniko replied.

"I'll be fine...OH MY GOD MY ARM FALL OFF!!" Meko yelled(even though her arm was still attached).

"WHAT THE H***?!!...Wait you just FINE!" Maniko replied angerly.

Yue chuckled softly. "Everything alright over there, Soron?"

Soron's eye twitched. "I'm fine, besides the bleeding eardrums." He replied turning to give the twins a death glare.

"Hm~" Yue started talking to Maniko again while labeling and arranging samples. "Did you notice the influx of recruits? So many long-lost relatives, lately."

"Yeah...and rare species...I wonder if we should start worrying." Maniko replied.

"I don't think so." Yue chirped. "After all, plenty of them seem to be on our side~"

"Yeah...but how many..aren't?" Maniko replied.

Yue blinked. "No clue. But the more we find out about them, the less of a surprise they should be~"

"Your right...and besides we how many hybreds and demon could there be? We are really lucky to have both!!" Meko stated happily.

Yue tapped her chin in thought. "Actually, while hybreds may be rare, from what I understand, there may be entire dimensions populated by angels and demons, respectively, so there's probably a lot more of those out there, just not neccessarily here."

"Hmmm true....I wish I was a hybred...instead of a lump of metal, skin, and bones." Meko replied.

Yue blinked. "But that's exactly what you are. A hybred is a combination. While the newcomers are a genetic fusion of vampire, werewolf, and demon, you are a seamless blend of human, alien, and robotics. Both are potent and effective in design~"

Meko blinked. "I guess your right..."

"See you already are awsome!" Maniko stated.

Yue tilted her head to the side when the song on the radio changed, not taking her eyes off of her work. "Maniko, would you mind changing the station? I can't stand slow songs like that. They always seem so depressing..."

"Okay...Hmm I didn't think you'd like this music." Maniko said changing the station.

Yue turned and blinked at Maniko. "What do you mean?"

"I thought...I dont know I geuss, that you'd listen to calm soft music." Maniko replied.

"Of course not! It's already too quiet down here." Yue chirped. "After all, Soron isn't exactly one for conversation~"

"And you aren't one for peace and quiet." Soron shot back with a smirk.

"Of course not~" Yue chimed with a grin. "Music is a universal language~ Every species and region on both this planet and my ancestors' used music and rhythm to express ideas and transcend cultural barriers!" She turned to Soron and stuck her tongue out playfully. "You're just too walled up to hear it, is all~"

"Yeah, yeah whatever." Soron replied as he added another wire to Meko's arm.

"...When you're done with that, the mass spectrometry machine burned out, again. I think we need a new one~" Yue mused.

"No I'll fix it!" Soron said excitedly.

Yue shrugged. "If you want. I'll need it by tomorrow, though."

"Holiday tomorrow...you don't work, but I'll have it done." Soron replied.

"...I don't?" Yue blinked.

"Check the little booklet thing." Soron replied closing Meko's arm.

"What holiday is it?" Yue asked as she reached for the schedule booklet.

"Christmas?" Soron replied unsure.

"Can't be..." Yue murmured to herself. "Christmas songs stopped playing a few months ago..." She flipped open the booklet.

"I have no clue....is it spring?" Soron asked.

"Really.....how can you not know?" Maniko asked.

"Well, it doesn't really get any colder or warmer down here." Yue turned to Maniko, temporarily forgetting the booklet in her hand. "And the computers always use a time stamp on our records, so we never really need to know the date for anything...'

"Yeah..but you guys forget holidays, and what about birthdays or days-off?" Maniko replied motioning to the booklet.

"Uh... Hm." Yue exchanged glances with Soron. "When is your birthday? ...Come to think of it, might need to ask Betty how old I am..."

Soron got up and went over to the spectrometry machine. "Umm September 14...I think."

"Oh! That would mean it's in pistachio season! You could ask Edda to make you a pistachio cake next time~" Yue chirped happily.

"Oh I love pistachios..I'll have to ask her." Soron replied as he took a panel off the machine.

Yue noticed the twins were still there. "Oh! Did you two need anything else?"

"Oh sorry no...We should probably get back to work now, bye!" Meko before adding. "Oh and thanks, the arm feels great!"

"Bye~" Yue waved to the twins before noticing the booklet in her hand. She turned to Soron. "What was I checking the schedule for, again?"

Soron slapped a hand to his forhead."What holiday tomorrow is...and if you're off." He replied before going back to repairing machine.

"Oh! Right..." Yue flipped open the booklet to read the week's events.

"What's the holiday?" Soron asked.

"...Easter. Isn't that one of the ones with candy and children running around?" Yue twisted her ring around her finger.

"Yeah and painted eggs...that rabbits are supposed to bring...but why rabbits?" Soron replied.

Yue shrugged. "It's not like they laid the eggs. My mom always said this planet can be really confusing..."

"I guess it's because rabbits are cuter than chickens." Soron said pressing his lips together in thought.

"But don't they have little baby chicks, too?" Yue tapped her chin in thought. "Where do you suppose the mother chickens go?"

"To the butcher of course!" Soron replied with a smile.

Yue chuckled. "How morbid of you~"

"Actully I think the Rabbit and the eggs are supposted to symbolize Fertilty." Soron chuckled.

"Oh! Like 'breeding like rabbits'!" Yue chirped. "Not quite appropriate for a children's holiday, but I suppose they don't need to know~"

"Well it was tied to the bible....The bible isn't really appropriate for kids either." Soron replied.

"Oh." Yue turned to Soron and blinked. "You're done, already? What was wrong with it?"

Soron held up a wire that was broken. "Just needed this replaced...but I have no clue how this broke."

"That's strange..." Yue furrowed her eyebrows.

"Yeah....I should have noticed it last time...if it was a accident." Soron stated looking at the wire.

"It couldn't be anything else!" Yue chirped. "It's not like anyone else comes down here, and we don't have rodents running around."

"You're right...and one of us would've noticed if someone came in." Soron replied.

"Of course we would." Yue confirmed with a nod.

"Cake! Okay anything else needing fixed?" Soron asked.

"...The centrifuge seems a little slow, today?" Yue removed the vials from said device.

"I'll go take a look." Soron said heading over to it.

Yue sighed. "Some of this equipment is so old it falls apart whenever someone opens the door."

"Why don't we get good things?...Maybe we should file a complaint?" Soron said as he started looking it over.

"I think funds are too low for it to do anything..." Yue started recording sugar and white blood cell levels. "Most money goes to the farms and Weapons Development."

"Yeah, you're right...and with what happened to the other facility..." Soron added.

"What happened?" Yue blinked at Soron.

"You didn't hear?...The East facility was blown up, there aren't that many areas still intact." Soron replied.

"Oh. Are they going to rebuild it? Or is everyone just going to be transferred?" Yue asked.

"Rebuild in a diffrent location I think." Soron replied.

"Between the rebuilding and getting rid of any compromised information in the wreckage things will be busy..." Yue sighed.

"Not to mention all the injured." Soron added.

Yue spun around to face Soron, wide-eyed. "People were in there?!"

"Uhh it's a government facility...Of course there were people...Anabell's cousin had to come here from what I've heared." Soron replied.

"...At least he has family to make the transition easier." Yue smiled softly but her voice seemed dulled down from her usual chirp.

"What's wrong?" Soron asked.

"Nothing~" Yue lied with a chirp. "...I don't like this song." She crossed the room to change the station to something louder.

"Hmmm Okay." Soron replied, but gave her a uncertain look.

"That's better~" Yue said once the station was on something slightly techno sounding. "We've few demons and angels, now. We've never had those before..." She grinned at Soron. "Should be a challenge~ New blood in the most literal sense~"

"Hmm I wander how much different their blood is...Like how many white blood cells they have or if their blood can be made into anything like yours." Soron said returning the look.

"My guess? Given the general legends and concepts of their species..." Yue tapped a finger to her chin. "Angels would have higher blood cell counts to prevent illness and promote adaptability and demons may or may not have some toxicity levels. Or at least could develop some." She shrugged. "But that's just a guess~ We'll have to run the tests to tell for sure~"

"Yue, I have the blood work for the blood samples you brought back." Charles said as he walked into the room with a stack of papers.

"Thank you~" Yue grinned as she took the papers and sat down to look over them for any similarities or irregularities and write out reports for Betty.

"You're welcome." Charles said with a large yawn.

"Hahaha fixed it!" Soron nearly song."Oh Charles when did you came in?"

"Just a few seconds ago... You don't pay attention do you?" Charles said giving Soron a look.

"I was fixing something..sorry." Soron replied quietly.

"Oh, that's alright then." Charles said with a tired nod.

Yue chuckled. "And Betty says I work too hard~ She'd probably throw a party if you two ever went above-ground for anything other than food~"

"Why would I want to go up there?" Charles asked giving Yue a look like she was crazy for even suggesting it.

Yue shrugged. "No clue~ But Betty's always bugging me to get out more so if--" She stopped abruptly.

Charles looked at her with a raised brow, "What's wrong?"

"...Would you mind getting something for me? File cabinet 23, top drawer, seventh file~" Yue chirped.

"Hey, Yue...what is this 'food' that you were talking about?" Soron joked as he started working something that looked kinda like like a robotic arm.

"In terms you'd understand, the fuel to generate electrical impulses." Yue quipped back.

"Oh that, okay." Soron chuckled.

"Here you go." Charles said holding the file Yue requested out to her.

"Thank you, Charlie~" Yue chirped as she flipped open the file to reveal his full name, picture and government identification number on the first page.

"Why are you looking at my file?" Charlie asked as he looked over her shoulder.

Yue turned to the genetic chart in his file. "Do you have a son?"

The colored seem to drain from Charlie's face, "Wh-Why do you ask?"

"A demon arrived today. I don't think he mentioned being part human, but the paternal DNA seems to match yours..." Yue hummed thoughtfully. "Maybe demon DNA occasionally synchronizes with human DNA? I don't really know much about demons... But what are the chances, right?" She turned to give Charles a grin.

Charlie sighed and ran his hand through his hair, "Can't be... Can it?" He said more to himself than anyone else.

Yue blinked. "What can't be?"

"When I was seventeen I fell in love with an ice demon, when I found out what she was and that she was pregnant I panicked and out of fear of her having cast a spell on me I pushed her back into a gate to hell... I regretted it immediately and ever since." Charlie said with a sigh as he sat in a chair.

"Oh. Now that you mention it," Yue blinked in thought, "he did mention something about his mother saying humans were 'evil and backstabbing'? I suppose that would explain it..."

Charlie groaned, "I was a scared kid, I didn't mean to hurt her so badly."

"So was my mom." Yue looked back at Charles. "A scared kid, I mean. New planet and all. And dad died about six years after they got here, too..." She turned her chair around to look at him. "But she had those six years. That's six years of making friends to help out and getting over the culture shock. Zane just got to this world for the first time yesterday, and he came alone." Yue smiled at Charles before turning back to her work. "He seems to be taking it well, though~"

"Alone, why didn't his mother come with him?" Charlie asked curiously.

Yue shrugged. "Aside from what she said about humans, Zane didn't really mention her. Since he's eighteen I didn't see any reason to ask."

"Has it already been eighteen years?" Charlie said with a chuckle.

"According to him." Yue chirped with a grin as she continued going through the papers.

"So he's all grown up... And I missed it all." Charlie said with a sigh.

Yue hummed. "Not really, if you think about it..."

"And even if you missed the past eighteen years..dosen't mean you have to miss the next eighteen." Soron added with a slight smile.

"My mom always said that it felt like she was learning things alongside me as I grew up because the world was new to her." Yue remarked. "Since Zane's new here, too, in a way he still needs guidance."

"Well Betty should be happy I suppose..." Charlie said.

"Betty's always happy to see a new face~" Yue chirped.

Soron twitched. "Beware of her grand kids...."

"I'm only interested in my work... I don't have time for dating." Charlie said.

Yue burst out into a chirping, bubbly, laughing fit.

"Huh? What's so funny?" Charlie asked curiously.

"When-heehee- When was the last time you visited Betty?" Yue said between chuckles.

Charlie thought for a moment, "I can't remember actually..."

"There's your answer...See that suit over there, yeah she got me it so I could go to a nice restaurant... Which her granddaughter was waiting for me at!" Soron said as he pointed at a black suit hanging by the door.

"Did you go and have a nice time?" Charlie asked.

"I did...but I don't think she did.." Soron replied.

"Why not?" Yue blinked.

"She asked what all I did at work.... I don't remember when she got up and left though." Soron replied.

"Well, why did she do that?" Yue sounded confused. "If she wasn't interested, she shouldn't have asked."

"I don't know... It was only the second hour of our date too." Soron replied as he picked up some metal and compared it to the metal he was using on the arm.

"Well that's odd." Charlie said thinking.

"Cabinet 20, third drawer, files 4 and 5, please~" Yue chirped from where she was examining papers.

Charlie nodded and got the requested files for her, "Here you go."

Yue opened the relatively thin files to show Raven and Will's names, then flipped to their genetic charts. "Hm..."

"So that's one of the Hybrids?" Charlie asked looking over her shoulder at Will's file.

"Yep~ And apparently, so is this boy that Debbie brought in. But they aren't directly related. It seems that Ciel is a descendant of the purebred sister..." Yue remarked as she wrote her findings down for Betty's review.

Soron came over to look too. "Hmm we're getting a lot of families....Oh hehe look at those muscles! I could use them for a great proto-type!!"

Yue looked up from the files and blinked. "...We are." A worried look crossed her features as she pulled out a notebook of blank paper and started writing down a reminder to herself before she could lose her train of thought.

"What is it Yue?" Charlie asked.

"Genetics. More specifically, dominant genetics." Yue turned to face Charles. "In all species, genetic variation exists for the sake of adaption and survival. The genetic trait that gives more of an advantage is more likely to be passed down because the people that bear it are more likely to live long enough to reproduce. Lately, the people we have been finding are not only related, but a number of them are related via some very potent and advantageous genetics. While this is a good thing for us, I can't help but wonder about the implications..." She turned back to the files and reports in front of her and twisted her ring around her finger. "If all those strong families are coming here, does it mean the world out there is suddenly becoming to harsh for them? Or perhaps the reason why so many are related is that the people without those strong genetics are being wiped out... Either way, things seem to only be getting worse out there."

"Ah, I guess that is a possibility." Charlie said with a nod.

"You're right...we have been getting less humans....I overheard that the government is planning on pulling out on a lot of the small towns.." Soron stated uneasily.

"Those smaller towns won't stand a chance..." Yue said under her breath as she twisted her ring.

"They'll be dead in no time." Charlie said looking uneasy.

"Ma..maybe some soldiers will help move them to one of the cities." Soron stated but he didn't seem to think that would actully happen.

"...The only thing we can do for them is what we've always done." Yue said blankly as she slipped a note from her notebook into a file before handing the small stack of files that she'd set up to Charles. "Would you mind taking these to Betty?"

"Sure, she'll be happy to see me." Charlie said chuckling.

"Seeing how long it's been, she'll probably be cheek-pinching happy~" Yue warned with a chirp.

"Then I should protect my cheeks." Charlie said as he left.

"BRAHAHAHA!! RUN DAVID!!" Soron said with evil laughter as he typed away at a computer.

"Oh. You finally got around to linking up that training course with your computer program?" Yue chirped, looking over Soron's shoulder.

"Yep...Hey what do you want me to use on him?" Soron asked laughing at the human dummy.

"Well, he's too far from the perimeter for the saws hidden in the trees..." Yue's brow crinkled in thought. "Maybe those mulch blades? The ones with the automated arms?"

Soron's eyes sparkled. "Great idea!" He said as he quickly typed away.

Yue chuckled. "Did you even get this approved with the trainer that had this built, or does he think that it's still all automatic?"

"Hehe..they may be surprised.." Soron replied.

"Oh." Yue grinned. "But at least it's much safer now~ Before any random person who accidently walked on the course risked getting their foot chopped off...or worse."

"Yes....Oh look at him struggle!" Soron snickered.

"His trainer sure did a good job of making sure he was prepared for such situations, huh?" Yue blinked at the screen. "I think he's blindfolded!"

"Yep....And yes he is blindfolded...hmmm OH~ I know lets rock his world too!" Soron said as he started typing.

Yue chuckled. "I didn't know you were one for puns~"

"Ahh. Once in a while." Soron replied as he used his free hand to pull a chair over for Yue.

"Oh! Now I remember~" Yue chirped as she sat down. "That's the human I had breakfast with this morning. That explains the worried-looking catgirl, that's his sister~"

"Hmmm I wonder if he likes his training...." Soron replied.

"From what I understand, he idolizes his trainer..." Yue turned back to the screen. "But he doesn't seem to be enjoying the training itself, right now~"

"Hmmm *sigh* If only the kitten was training too...then we could see his reaction when we pretend to go after her!" Soron said with a evil smile.

Yue smiled. "You're really enjoying this, aren't you?"

"Yes..Yes I am." Soron replied with a proud smile.

Yue chuckled as she sat back to watch the show.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~***~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Huh?!..that isn't right...I didn't even press anything!" Soron said looking at the screen.
"...I take it that isn't supposed to happen?" Yue asked worriedly.
"It's supposed to give them a head start.." Soron typing away. "Maybe....Okay I've overrode some of the stuff it's trying to do...but." The screen went black all of a sudden along with the lights in the lab. "Don't we have a back up?"
"We used to..." Yue twisted her ring. "But it was dismantled for parts a couple of years ago. I think people just forgot to make another generator after that..."
"Great....I can't see a thing...I think we've got candles around here some..Ouch!" Soron stopped thumbling around. "I think it would be safe to just stay still until the power comes back on."
"Yeah, that might be best." Yue chirped.
"I can't even play with any of my toys..." Soron pouted.
"Yeah...and reading or listening to the radio is out of the question..." Yue started twisting her ring again.
"Hmmm do you want to talk?" Soron asked.
"Ok, what do you want to talk about? :D" Yue chirped.
"Hmmm If you couldn't work in this lab, where would you want to work instead?" Soron asked.
"Um... Hm..." Yue tapped her chin. "Well, this is really all I'm good at. Without my geneticist work and the blood and forensics lab, I'm pretty much just a natural resource for the acid ice bullets~ What about you?"
"I like working down here because there are less people and older stuff....but if I had too...I guess I'd make machines for training." Soron replied.
"Like that trap thing you were controlling earlier? That's really neat!" Yue chirped.
"Yeah even though I didn't make it, I'm really proud of the training circle...Although..it probably won't be used any more now." Soron disappointed.
"Don't say that!" Yue protested. "It was used for years beforehand, once they fix it, why would they retire it?"
"Some higher ups were already trying to get rid of it....Now that has messed up so badly while someone was training...hmm I don't know if we can keep it running." Soron replied.
"What about the trainer that had it built?" Yue asked.
"He might have us make something simlar...hopefully he can get them to let us keep our current trap circle." Soron said as the lights came back on.
"Oh! Our electricity started up again~" Yue cheered.
"YAY!!" Soron called before turning to the computer. "Oh...a tech's already there."
"Great! Then they'll probably find out what went wrong in no time~" Yue chirped.
"Hop...hey..who's that?" Soron pointing out a green haired guy walking into the tree line.
"...I don't recognize him. Do you think the security guys noticed, or should we call it in?" Yue asked.
"Le..He's gone?" Soron was reaching for his phone when he noticed the guy disappear.
"That's weird. Call it in. If he can do that, the risk just went up." Yue started twisting her ring around her finger anxiously.
Soron picked up the phone and dialed. "Yes I'm Soron Mackenzie and I'm calling to report a intruder.......on the training grounds.....he had short green hair purple eyes and was able to disappear I saw him about two minutes ago though....wait..he was by the trap circle....Yes of course...Oh..okay.." He put the phone down. "They said they didn't see anything on their screens."
"Does our screen record?" Yue asked, her eyes narrowing at said screen.
Soron pulled up when they saw him but he wasn't on the video now.
"But that's extremely illogical! What could show up on a live screen but not record on video?"
"There's no...science behind it....We both saw it...and now..it's gone." Soron said blinking and replaying the video.
"No science behind it?! No, that--that can't be right~" Yue leaned closer to the screen and squinted at it.
Soron covered her eyes and gentily pulled her back before uncovering her eyes. "If you get that close you'll damage your eyes."
"B-But...H-he just..." Yue was not sure what she was trying to say, let alone how to phrase it.
"Disappeared?" Soron offered.
"Yeah, but how?" Yue furrowed her eyebrows.
"*sigh* No clue...it's giving me a headache." Soron said as his eye twitched a bit.
"...So what do we do? We can't ignore it. What if he's why the training trap thing broke?" Yue asked.
"We have to check it out ourselves." Soron replied as he put on a jacket and tossed her one.
"Oh. Ok, then." Yue blinked at Soron as she slipped on her jacket.
"I haven't been outside for a while..." Soron muttered to himself as he opened the door for Yue.
"And Betty's going to kill me if she finds out I'm going to the training grounds..." Yue chuckled as she walked out the door.
"I did some training there...I'll knock anything that flies at you outta they way." Soron said. "And I intend to get you something before going on the training ground."
"Thank you~" Yue chirped with a grin.
"Ahhh Lab, sweet lab!" Soron said as he came in and hugged one of his "toys".
Yue chuckled as she walked in. "And Betty says we need to get out more..."
"I've had enough of 'outside' for today, thanks." Soron said patting some machines.
"Well we're probably going to have to go out tomorrow anyways to see what Isaac finds~" Yue chirped as she hung up her jacket. "...Actually, I'd have to spend the day out anyways. :/ Since I have the day off, Betty's probably going to be stalking me to make sure I don't just go back to work."
"Oh yeah tomorrows a holiday...I was the one who reminded you...man today has been busy." Soron said as he realized he still had his jacket on, and took it off.
"Do you suppose this is how the clerks and soldiers feel? That too much happens in one day to fit the hours?" Yue half-joked as she went about her nightly rounds of counting and categorizing samples and chemicals and shutting down machines for the night.
"It's wierd....I enjoy my job a lot...but earlier..when we where chasing down that ghost I felt...different." Soron said as he started shutting things down too.
"Different how?" Yue asked as she locked the fridge.
"It almost seemed...surreal." Soron answered.
Yue blinked, not sure what Soron meant. "Really?"
"Ehh nevermind I'm just being weird..hehe." Soron rubbing the back of his head a bit.
Yue smiled sweetly. "If you say so~ But you could be right; a lot of supposedly normal things go over my head, sometimes... If I couldn't catch on, that probably means it wasn't weird~"
"Hehehe This whole day has gone over my head! So many things I thought didn't exist...appeared before my eyes." Soron replied as he locked up his toys.
"Really? I thought it was just the one..." Yue paused in her counting. "Unless you count the two ghosts seperately..."
"I'm not sure yet...but it said there were more..." Soron said thinking back.
"Yeah...I wonder how many?"
"Hmm I don't know....but I don't want to see them." Soron stated as opened the door that lead to the bedrooms. "After you."
"Thank you~" Yue chirped as she walked into her room. "Good night!"
"Night." Soron replied as he went to his room.
Yue walked out of her bedroom about half an hour later than usual wearing a pale purple strapless dress an some pink bunny-ear hairties. "Betty says people wear colorful dresses on Easter. Do you think she'll approve?"
"Wow..you look...different, but nice, I think she'll approve." Soron replied as one of his rabbit ears fall covering his right eye.
Yue chuckled. "I think those ears are a little too floppy~ Aren't they supposed to have wire inserts?"
"I made this...they move on their own." Soron said happily as his ears shot up straight.
"And you're sure they won't be too distracting?" Yue chirped curiously.
Charlie came out of his room yawning.
"Yeah I'm sure...Hey Charlie." Soron replied as his ears twitched, and he smiled at Charles.
"Morning Charlie~" Yue chirped. "You know what to do while I'm gone, right?"
"Huh? What's with the ears?" Charlie asked looking at Soron.
Soron nodded with a smile."Yep! Oh..uhh I made them.."
"Oh... I forgot it was Easter." Charlie said looking over at Yue. "That's a pretty dress."
"Thank you~ I picked it myself~" Yue chirped. "I hope Betty doesn't mind... She's chosen half the stuff in my closet. :/ I think she likes dressing people up."
"I think she'll love it." Charlie said with a smile.
"Thank you~ =^_^= I better get going now. Page me if you need anything!" Yue chirped.
"Alright. See ya..And have fun!!"Soron said as he headed for his desk.
"Yeah, see ya." Charlie said with a wave.
"No,no,no! If that was real you'd be dead from lack of oxygen!"Soron yelled to his book before throwing onto the table with all the machines he had already finished.
"Sorry to interrupt your... Well... correction of a sci-fi book, but I have some information that might be of interest." Isaac said as he came in."
"Yeah, it's really exciting!" Cupid said smiling.
Charlie yawned as he came out of his room, "Oh... Hello Isaac... Uh... Ghost."
"Hello. Oh this is my Dear Cupid! <3" Isaac replied happily.
"Dear Cupid?" Charlie repeated curiously.
"Yep." Cupid said nuzzling Isaac's cheek.
Isaac kissed Cupid's cheek. "Hehehe Cupid is my wonderful little gift from grace! <3"
"You... Seem head over heels for her... e____e" Soron said getting up.
Cupid giggled and kissed Isaac's cheek in return.
"Yeah... Well glad you found someone... Even if she is a ghost." Charlie said rubbing the back of his head.
"Speaking of! I saw lil Charlie junior getting kidnapped by Hana as I left." Isaac snickered.
"Lil Charlie Junior? His name is Zane." Charlie said.
"Well then... Little Zane is being kidnapped by crazy kid lady... So what's papa bear to do?" Isaac asked as he headed towards the door where Soron was waiting.
Charlie sighed, "Well... I guess I should do something." He said leaving the lab.
Cupid giggled, "Papa bear?"
"Yes! I'm sure we'll find it fitting." Isaac said opening the door for everyone.
"O.O I-I'm going to the morgue.... Without Yue this time..." Soron realized suddenly seeming creeped out.
"Don't worry, you'll be ok." Cupid said smiling at Soron.
"Okay... Let's go then." Soron said not seeming to be relieved.
"OK!" Cupid said smiling as he floated out the door.
