post assignments here;
Assignment 1 [
DawnAtMidnight]
I wanted to find a religion that actually spoke to me. And for a while I was looking into witchcraft but then I started researching wiccanism and I felt I could relate to it. I've always felt I had some kind of power and a deeper connection to the things around me and when I started learning about wiccanism, it clicked. I don't really know what I would do with the power I'd learn from you....I'd probably try to heal some people. Maybe even myself. I don't have alot of knowledge on wiccanism. Just tidbits I got off the internet...whi
ch might not be true (which is why I came to you) and from a book called Wicca For Beginners by Thea Sabin.
Assignment 2 [Squiver]
While I am farmiliar with some of the aspects of "The History of Wicca" mentioned there, much of it is new information to me. I had not known such specifics of Druidism, and I hadn't realized that magick tends to be split so specifically. I had always assumed that the "color coordinated" magic were inspecific and given for those completely unfamiliar with the metaphysical to more easily understand. I of course assume that you are either teaching white magic or green magic, but green magic seems more reserved to British Traditional Wiccans rather than the new-age perspective, so white magic is my assumption.
Assignment 1 [Squiver]
For a long time now I have been on a personal search to find a form of magick that I can adhere to. I am nearly obsessed with the profound and inexpressable desire to become a Healing Magician, but my medium is of yet unknown because I have been unable to find a practice (or combination thereof) that "clicks". I am at least acquainted with the practices of Shamanism (traditional and contemporary), Reiki, Pranic Healing, several forms of inhibitionary meditation and non-inhibitionary meditation, and even (by observation, not practice) some "Demonology". It's been difficult to find a source of clear, concise information on Wiccanism from which I can start my own journey and research into the practice, and this site seemed like an excellent place to begin my journey, even if I am only able to read the first few assignments.
Assignment Extra Credit [Squiver]
I believe the word "magick" originated from the writings of occultist Aleister Crowly, having no particular stated meaning but is assumed to visibly differentiate the term from the fairy-tale like perception of "magic" that had thus far existed in the public eye.
Assignment Extra Credit [HighElvenHobbit]
Why some people spell Magic with a 'k', an essay by Me.
The spelling of the word 'Magic' with a 'k', first originated I believe with Gerald Gardner, who wanted to distinguish between performers who do parlor tricks, and real magicians. I find the distinction a product of its time, and find no need to distinguish between the two. It might have also been written as such do to old English texts (personal opinion).
Magic, spelled without the 'k', is to me the correct spelling of the word. I see no reason to distinguish between the two terms.
Assignment 3 [HighElvenHobbit]
I believe that the techniques of witchcraft are varied and infinite. One coven does not have the exact same technique as a coven on the other side of the world, but they are still worshiping the God and Goddess, and even though they are not using the same techniques, they are still communing with them and nature as a whole.
just my thoughts...
Assignment 2 [HighElvenHobbit]
A very turbulent history to be sure. I knew most of it from earlier readings, but still, nice to have a refresher course =P... I believe you plan on teaching white magic, because you spend a lot of time repeating the three fold law.
Assignment 1 [HighElvenHobbit]
Wicca just seems... right to me. I can't describe it anymore then that. I plan on bettering the my life, which is pretty crappy right now, and hopefully others as well. I have read a few books on Wicca, such as Scott Cunningham's "Wicca: A guide for the solitary practitioner".
Extra Credit [Joey18]
Some people find it nessesary to spell magick with a k. I am one of these people. This is because they find it nessasary to seperate it from stage magic or fictional magic.
Then again there are those who spell it without a k. I believe they do it for two reason. One they do not find it nessasary. Two for simplicity. It doesn't really matter how you spell it as long as you're comfortable.
ASSIGNMENT 3 [Joey18]
I believe that the tequiniques of witchcraft vary from witch to witch. For Example one witch might choose meditation. As another witch might choose scrying. And yet another might choose to pray to the God and Goddess.
ASSIGNMENT 2 [Joey18]
I found it to be quite informitive. Although you said that the summer solstice is know as Laughanuss I thought it was Litha. Isn't 'Laughasnaud' a holiday between the summer Solcitice and the Fall Equinox. I think you will be informing us about all types of magick even black so that we know how to indentify it and protect ourselves from it.
ASSIGNMENT 1 [Joey18]
I am choosing Wicca because I want a path that is full of self-empowerment. I have currently been Studying Wicca for a year and have done a few magickal workings. I want to learn Wicca to improve the quality of my life and others around me.
ASSIGNMENT 1. MartinP
I want to learn wicca because I find it very interesting and I believed all the information that I hav read about it in books etc.
At the moment I do not know any wicca. If I were to learn wicca my main objectives and reasons would be to help other people with problems.
ASSIGNMENT 2. MartinP
I thought that the history of magic lesson was very informative and interesting. I think you are teaching white wicca because anybody who selflessy spends their time teaching people and recieving nothing back apart from the thrill of teaching people must be a very pure and sincere person.
ASSIGNMENT 3 (b). MartinP
I believe that the "techniques of witchcraft" are the different ways in which spells are cast. I think that they are the different forms of witchcraft. For example, I think that coven witchcraft uses different techniques to solitary witchcraft.
ASSIGNEMENT 1) [Atrocitas]
I have an unquenchable urge to learn and to have a sense of fulfillment. As a student of self-study, there's only so much I can learn from books. In nature I feel at peace and protected, and I believe Wicca is the ideal religion for a person like me. =) I've been studying and perfecting for two years now.
Assignement 1 - [Silver Phantoms]
I have heard about Wicca before, and I've always been somewhat interested in it. I have never studied it before and i would like to learn it because I love nature and feel completed when I am in nature.
Assignement 1-[Cruptedangel]
I would like to learn it because i have always been interested in this religion. Half of my Family is into wicca and witchcraft. I also think its really interesting to know about it.
Assignment 2- Ok i thought it was very interesting and i have taken the time before doing this assignment to look up other forms and get a more in depth understanding i would like to learn more about the black white and green magic and i think u would honestly prolly teach more of the white
Assignement 1 - [Kitro]
I would like to learn wiccanism because i am very interested in the idea of it and do not know a lot about it. I plan to use the things i learn to benefit everyone and this planet.
Assignment 1 - [AuroraLumos]
I have always seen myself as an Animist, that I know for sure, but I would like to learn more about Witchcraft and Wiccanism to help explain to others about my religious views (as it is a question I have been asked many times by my peers and my parents and I have currently left them without a real answer). Also I will use the knowledge I learn to benefit others more in need than myself.
Assignment 2 – [AuroraLumos]
I previously had a general knowledge of the History of Witchcraft but it was not half as detailed as what I have learned in this lesson and it has piqued my interest in the subject. I suppose you are teaching white magic though green magic is of great interest to me (given that I live in a rural area and have always felt that trees and plants all have their own personalities much as animals and people do)
Assignment 1 - [Rain_Ryu]
I would like to learn witchcraft because I come from an ancient line of witches and I would like to learn more about what I am and what I can do. With my knowledge of witchcraft, I will bring peace among my town and also within my family. I do not have any knowledge of witchcraft.
