Techniques
Solitary versus Coven
While some people may think of Witches as a part of a group, some of the better known Witches of the past, factual or ficticious, have been Solitaries. Solitary Witchcraft is actually much older than Coven. There is no reason why Solitary Witchcraft is any less true or harmonic than Coven. While most Witches seem to prefer a coven, there is no need for a Witch to be in a coven to work magic. While Solitary Witchcraft is usually more difficult, it is equally satisfying.
What a Witch is
Most people who actually know something about Witches know what they are. They are people who are adept in the uses of herbs, roots, barks, etcetera, and chooses her/himself whether to do good or bad with this knowledge, knowing fully the aftereffects of both. Witchcraft is more than a religion, a set of philosphies, or a strict code. It is a way of living in harmony with the Universe, and there are many ways to do this.
Religion
Witchcraft is a religion, with its main focus being worship of the old gods. This applies just as much to the Solitary Witch as to the Coven one. Therefore, if you want to work magic, yet do not believe in the deities, or the religion, then you do not need Witchcraft. However, if you are sure you are interested in Witchcraft as a religion and a way of life, then you must decide; Solitary or Coven? If you desire a Coven, you must search one out and persuade them into accepting you. If you desire Solitary, I can supply some of the knowledge you want.
DO NOT WORK EVIL MAGIC!
There are a few rules, which I have copied directly out of a book.
-Do not practice magic to annot, irritate, harm, hurt or to kill another person or creature.
-Do not practice magic that will bind, influence, manipulate ot control another person or creature.
-Do not practice magic to try to win the love of a person.
-Do not practce magic to try and win sexual favors from another person.
-Do not sell your magical spells
-Do not practice magic to satisfy your ego.
-Do not practice magic of any kind for another person, even if it is beneficial, without his or her consent.
Remember, all you do comes back to you, times three. If you help another person, someone will help you. Likewise if you hurt or manipulate another person, someone will do worse to you.
Techniques
Energy is used in magic, energy that comes from one source, although it has many manifestations
. The two types of energy used in natural magic are Personal and Earth power. Therefore, if you are sick, DO NOT PRACTICE MAGIC!
Energy will come up again later.
All magic must had a need behind it. Magic is not done simply for the fun of it. Only cast a spell if it is needed.
You must visualize the need and banish all images of the problem. You must use charging and 'The Magical Voice'. You must correctly prepare for each ritual, each spell.
