X-Men Dance Floor

The dance floor consists of a smooth white floor with multicolored spotlights and blinding strobe lights flashing around the area, creating shapes and patterns along the floor and walls. Some of the most popular music is blasting loudly, making it nearly impossible to hear anyone speak, from the giant speakers stationed beside the DJ's stand, which, strangely, is empty, being monitored from across the room by Jean Grey.

Monday, October 31st

Shade walked away from the party tables, carrying Light in his arms bridal style, and made his way to the much louder and brighter dance floor area. Each time a bright light hit the boy's shadowy cloak, a small fragment of it disintegrated only to form back again when in the dark. Moving away from the main speakers, the boy found that by standing next to them as opposed to on the dance floor itself, the loudness of the music was considerably lessened. Lovingly, he set down Light, pulling her close and keeping his hand on her back as he grinned. "See? Didn't even have to walk."

Light held the two glasses of punch, hers and Shade's, as steady in her hands as she could while Shade carried her across the dance floor, careful not to spill any on her white dress and risk an ugly stain for the rest of the night. She held the cups away from her as the boy stopped behind the speaker and set her legs down, allowing her feet to touch the floor again. Still being held close to him, Light gave him a smile and a "Thank you, my dear Count," before leaning in and pressing her lips to the side of his neck, pulling back a second later and grinning at the lip-shaped smudge of red gloss now temporarily tattooed on his skin for the night. Taking a sip from her own glass of punch, she held Shade's out for him to take, looking at him past her cup with an almost seductive gaze. Then, pulling the punch away from her face, she took a quick look around at the dark corner they'd settled in, smirking as she commented, "You're making it hard to wait till after the party, Shade, bringing me to a dark, deserted place like this."

"My pleasure, lovely bride." replied Shade trying to fake a slight Transylvanian accent with his usual whisperlike voice, what came out seemed to be a suave version of Korvka and Vlad's accent. As Light leaned forward to kiss the side of his neck, the boy tilted his head almost imperceptibly as he closed his eyes, feeling the girl's sweet scent close to him and her breathing on his skin before the small, warm electric touch of her lips. Keeping himself from letting out a sigh, Shade looked down at Light's emerald eyes and grinned along with her, not aware that he'd just been marked. "I know love, that might have been my intent." said the boy absent mindedly, looking to the sides as if checking how alone they were once Light asked. Slowly, the boy took a sip of his punch and a step forward, placing one of his hands lightly on the girl's hip, the boy's cape brushed the front of her dress as he pushed her back a bit. "I can take you to places much darker, love..." grinned the boy mischievously as he took another step, trying to push Light until her back was to the wall, with the stage behind him. "I usually do that..." he said once he'd gotten the girl as far as she could go, like some sort of slow motion tango, leaning down until his breath hit her lips each time he spoke, but did not kiss her yet, simply stopping and adding; "Before I feed."

Light had to laugh a little at Shade's accent, the likeness to her Russian friend's almost comical, considering how much he loved to tease Korvka. Pulling away from his neck, the girl put her hand up on his shoulder after he'd taken his punch from her and gazed up into his eyes, the flashing lights occasionally causing her eyes to squint. While Shade spoke, the girl took another sip of her punch, following his gaze around the secluded area of the room. At the same time that Shade stepped forward, Light was pushed backwards and forced to take a step back as well, a smirk appearing on her face once more. Each time he moved forward, Light stepped back, putting one foot behind the other, slowly so that she wouldn't trip. Finally, her back was pushed against the wall, and she simply stood there, rather helplessly, looking up at Shade as his face closed in. "By the look in your eye, I'd say you were about to eat something delicious," said the girl, her hand now trailing down from his shoulder, slowly across his chest, and to his side. "Careful, though, your prey might bite back," she added before turning her face just slightly to the side to take another sip of punch, as if mocking Shade and showing that she wasn't afraid of her 'predator'.

"The most delicious meal ever.. love. My personal favorite, might I add." replied the boy as soon as Light pointed out the look in his eyes. By the time Light's hand got to his side, Shade had already leaned in to the point his lips were almost touching hers, but was surprised by her turning away to take a sip of her drink. "Ohu? Well.. this particular prey seems to be awfully catty." said the young man, taking yet another step forward so his chest was almost touching Light's while he placed a small kiss on her lower jaw, almost getting to her ear. "I've been known to get bitten and scratched while hunting it." he added with a grin. Then, without a word, Shade moved one of his hands away from Light's waist and lifted the other to wrap his cloak around the both of them. With a malicious smile, the boy stuck his hand into the darkness of the shadowy fabric and pulled a small bottle of Vodka, the kind miniature you might find in a fancy hotel minibar. "In my experience I've found that some of this can help make my prey a bit... more agreeable." whispered Shade as he took the cap off the bottle and held it up to the girl before asking, "You think it will work?"

Shade's comment about his favorite meal did get a small smile out of Light, though she kept her head to the side, pretending not to be all too interested, but when he called her catty, she cut her eyes toward him and lifted her eyebrows, feigning slight annoyance at his words. However, feeling the boy's lips on her jaw caused her to close her eyes and sigh, nearly melting under his touch, leaving her wanting more when he pulled his lips away from her skin. Her hand barely tugged on the boy's side, trying to pull him even closer to her so that their bodies were against each other, and with a tiny smug grin, she finally turned her face to look at him again, but said nothing in reply. Light watched curiously as the boy wrapped him shadow-cloak around them and reached his hand into it, her eyes lighting up when she saw the small bottle of Vodka. "You've got my attention now," she said excitedly, speaking as if he'd not had her completely mesmerized before. Then, with a devious smirk, she held her plastic cup of red punch up close to her lips, replying, "Oh, I'm not sure. You could always try it out."

Seeing the blood red cup of punch draw closer to Light's glossy lips made it hard for Shade to resist kissing the girl right then and there. Still, the boy did his best to keep his cool, knowing this too, was part of the game. "And knowing I have your attention, I don't think I have a choice but to try it out, my love." replied the boy as he carefully unscrewed the top of the bottle, holding it on his palm and using thumb and and index finger to get the cap off rather masterfully. Though he wanted to press his body against Light's, hold her and kiss her, he knew he had to step back a bit to pour some vodka into their drinks. As a gesture of goodwill, the boy poured some into his drink first and then took a sip, almost as if trying to convince a small doe something was safe to eat by having a tiny bite first. Looking at her hungrily, the boy then gently hooked his wrist, the one holding his cup, with hers and pulled Light's cup away from her lips. Then, still grinning mischievously, he poured some vodka into the girl's punch. As he did so, the boy leaned in, lowering both cups with the motion of his wrist so they wouldn't be in the way, and putting his nose under Light's for a split second, he lifted his face so she'd look up at him before pressing his lips against hers. As a tingle of electricity and warmth, ran down the boy's spine, complimented by the sweetness of fruit from Light's lips, he poured some more Vodka into her cup, hoping the fact he'd given her more alcohol than he was having would go unnoticed through their kiss.

Light kept her eyes fixed on Shade's as he both spoke and opened the bottle of Vodka, and seeing and feeling him take a step back, she had to keep herself from moving forward to press her body against his. She continued to silently watch him as he poured the alcohol into his own drink and took a sip, a tiny smirk sticking to her face as she resisted the urge to push the cups of punch and bottle of Vodka out of the way and simply jump onto him and kiss him. Playing it cool, she crossed her free arm over her stomach and rested her hand under her other arm, still holding the punch up, that is until Shade' hooked his wrist around hers and pulled it towards him. Her attention finally moved to her cup as he began pouring some of the Vodka into the punch, and she watched curiously as he moved both of their cups out of the way. Then, feeling Shade's face press close to hers, Light looked up into his eyes for a split second before closing them, nuzzling her nose lightly against his just before he kissed her. The living dead girl immediately became completely immersed in the kiss, her attention completely pulled away from her cup and focused only on Shade as her hand moved up to her nack, pulling him a bit closer while she pushed deeper into the kiss.

Shade poured for a little bit more, almost forgetting about the vodka, the punch, the party and everything as be became lost in the feeling of Light's lips against his. Soon, however, the boy felt the bottle getting lighter in his hand and stopped, quickly moving it away and tossing it into the permanent darkness that was his cloak to pretend he had put it away several minutes ago. His right wrist still hooked with Light's, the boy let his now free left hand move up to the girl's face, his fingertips resting lightly on the back of her neck while his palm touched her jaw and his finger caressed the girl's cheek. A few seconds later, Shade pulled his lips away from Light's but held his face close to hers, looking into her emerald eyes, his forehead almost pressed against hers as he grinned, revealing his fangs. For a few seconds, he simply seemed to be admiring her face, letting his gaze wander down the young woman's nose, following the alluring curvature of her lips and the shape of her jaw as his fingers traveled down, the pads of his index and ring fingers stroking down her throat, right over her jugular until they reached the spot between her collarbones, as if hypnotized by that spot, much like a true vampire. "Now..." whispered the boy lifting his cup and pulling away a bit more before asking; "Shall we toast?"

Light totally melted into the kiss, completely oblivious to everything else around her and Shade, even as he nearly filled her cup to the brim with liquor. With her hand still on his neck, she barely pushed her fingers into his hair before going lax under the touch of his fingers against her own neck and face, the cup of now spiked punch almost slipping from her hands. Finally, Shade pulled away from the kiss, much to Light's chagrin, of course, bringing her back to reality as she opened her eyes and looked up at him, returning Shade's toothy grin with one of her own. As she watched his gaze travel down her face, she let her thumb run lightly over the boy's neck, just under his jaw while she whispered, "You're starting to convince me to ditch the party and take you back to my room." Then, as he proposed a toast, she began to lift her own glass as well with a smirk, but movement past his shoulder caught her eye for a moment, and noticing that a few of the students seemed to be heading over to the dance floor, Light sighed and replied to Shade, "Make it a good one. Looks like we'll be having company."

"All in due time, love." replied the boy when Light mentioned skipping on the party and just going up to the room, as much as he wanted to do the same, he was enjoying their little game of cat and mouse. "I'm personally enjoying my little hunt..." he said as Light seemed to look at something far away. "Ah, I figured we couldn't get this spot all to ourselves for long." replied Shade when his 'bride' pointed out others were coming. So he held up his cup until the rim touched the rim of Light's cup and smiled. "I could toast to us.. but that would be corny." whispered the boy using the last few minutes of alone time the two had at that point. "Why don't I just toast for our little hunt, then? and it's inevitable conclusion?" he added before he took a sip of the vodka laden punch with burned pleasantly on its way down his throat. "We can always go into a corner and I can push you even more up against the wall." he grinned, offering a solution to their current problem.

With a sigh, Light rolled her eyes at Shade's refusal to go back to her room, letting out a "fiiine" and trying to hide a grin as she crossed her arm over her abdomen again. She simply looked at him with the most serious face she could muster as her spoke, but as he raised his glass and shot down his own suggestion for a toast, a small smile finally broke through. She put her glass to his as well, a smirk growing over her face as he made his second suggestion. "To fucking all night, then," she said before taking a small sip of her own punch. Pulling the glass away from her lips, she gave the punch a funny look then looked up at Shade once more as he spoke again. "That does sound delightful," she smirked, taking a step forward, away from the wall, so that her chest was barely pressing against his, "but maybe we should actually go out there and have some fun. We'll have our alone time later." The girl put the glass to her mouth again, this time taking a bigger gulp of the drink and swallowing the liquid quickly. As the punch and alcohol went down her throat, the girl made a face and couldn't keep herself from coughing once or twice, asking, "Fuck, Shade, how much did you put in there?"

"To fucking all night." replied simply Shade, tapping the side of Light's cup with his own before taking another sip of a vodka & punch. Then lowering his cup to look at her as she drunk as well, grinning mischievously, as someone who's done something bad would. "We should... I did see some game tables, love. If you don't feel like dancing, we could head that way." said the boy with a smile as Light took another gulp of the vodka and called him out on the sheer amount of alcohol on hers. "Uhm? I like it a bit strong.. I thought you did too." smiled Shade innocently as he took another gulp of his punch, pretending it was as strong as Light's but at the same time finishing it up so she couldn't check. "Just gulp it down and we'll go have our fun, my 'bride'" he added in a vampire-like hiss, now getting back into his character.

Entering the loud and brightly colored dance floor, Vlad saw Light and Shade were the only other people present, and that they were drinking punch instead of dancing. He grinned at Light, but decided to leave her and her man alone since he could tell that they had all interrupted a private moment. Besides, he had other things to tend to. With Addy sitting on his curved arm, he looked rather like a monstrous babysitter, his little ducks following him in a row as he held the small injured one like a child on his hip. "All right," he said, dropping to a knee again so that he could let Addy down. He handed her crutches back to her and only stood once they were back in her hands. Seeing that Teena and Laurel were indeed present and accounted for, Frankenstein stood up and started to listen to the music that was playing instead of letting it fall into the white noise of the background. The song was modern, something with rap in it, and Vlad smirked as he started to feel the beat. Stepping to the side, Vlad slid his other foot to join, his arms raised to snap his fingers. Spinning around once on the heels of his black sneakers, Vlad faced the girls again with a grin on his face as he continued to dance, something he thoroughly enjoyed doing. "See? Piece off cake," he said, giving an encouraging smile to the girls.

Addy took her crutches and stood, watching Vlad. He seemed to be enjoying himself. She wanted to try to dance, but this was going to be awkward at best.

Laurel bounced in behind Vlad looking around the dance floor, her gaze skimming over Light and Shade, uninterested in them. She bounced somewhat to the beat as Vlad set Addy down. She watched the large Russian do some boy band move, that involved spinning and being on beat, two things Laurel could do without causing at least minimal damage, she hoped. She tried the move only to find her self backward. Giggling, she turned around, deciding to just sway and shake her hips to the beat still somewhat off.

Teena jumped on the dance floor and didn't pay any attention to Light and Shade. She looked at Vlad with an amused expression. She then tried to start dancing, but after a few moments her movements just became loose karate moves and movement series that she did rhythmically. Luckily, martial arts and dancing had more in common than one would think, and the thing that stood out most was Teena's stiff posture.

After recovering from the unexpected shock of the stronger than normal drink, though she was more than capable of handling it, albeit a little roughly, Light cleared her throat and fixed her eyes on Shade, narrowing her eyes in slight suspicion as he blamed the strength of the drink on his own preference, then urged her to drink the whole thing quickly. "We can stick around on the dance floor for a while," she answered to his suggestion to move to the games, shooting a smirk back at Vlad in response to his grin. "Those games look like kiddie stuff," she added, then as if to emphasize that she wasn't a 'kid', the girl put the plastic cup to her lips, and tilting her head back slowly, she turned the glass up, gulping down the strong drink with tightly squinted eyes, all in one go. After just a few seconds of rapidly gulping down her drink, Light finally pulled the cup away from her lips, now empty, and let out a strained breath, her face contorted with a little bit of pain cause by the burn of the Vodka. Then, reaching up with her free hand, she grabbed Shade's chin firmly and pulled his face down to hers, closing her eyes and pressing her lips against his in a short, passionate kiss. Pulling away, her face now back to normal, the girl held her cup in front of her face, saying with a grin, "I could use some more punch."

"Addy, maybe just von crutch vood be better?" Vlad asked in mid-boogie as he looked down and noticed the girl standing awkwardly. "That vay you could lean on it and still move around a bit," he explained further, just in case anyone thought he had delivered an injured girl to the dance floor and then tried to take her crutches. Around Addy, it seemed that Teena and Laurel were both busting a move, however off beat and silly said dances may have looked to the casual observer. The emerald painted man smiled and then laughed good-naturedly at Teena's kung-fu and the simple back-and-forth of Laurel's hips, while never ceasing the movement of his feet and arms. Standing to the side, he pointed at Addy and then snapped his head forward and did the running man, the tremors from his heavier steps mixing in with the overpowering thump of bass. "You'll be a running man again in no time. Ven does doc McCoy say you're free off it?" he asked, lifting his arms to his shoulders and stepping side to side to the beat.

Taking Vlad's suggestion, Addy set one crutch aside, using the other to keep her balance. She found that moving was much easier, and she could keep her balance using her tail. Her movements were more coordinated than Teena's and Laurel's, using more of her hips since she couldn't really move one of her legs. "The doctor says two more weeks at the most." She grinned up at Vlad. "Then I'll be free to break things once more."

"I never took you for the dancing type." replied Shade when Light mentioned sticking to the dance floor, his eyes trained on the undead girl, not caring what was going on behind him on the actual dance floor. "Not vertically, at least." he then added with a whisper, accompanying it with a mischievous grin. Light bringing up the fact she wasn't a 'kid' almost made Shade chuckle, since it reminded him of when the two had just met, when he looked for any way to get a rise out of her much like he did with Korvka. However, Light's reaction had been far more interesting and alluring than Korvka's, and her looks were miles ahead of the Russian girl's, so ultimately things had turned out rather different. Suddenly, the boy was snapped out of his musings by Light holding onto his chin and pulling him towards her, taken completely by surprise, he couldn't help but close his eyes and even shudder a little bit, feeling Light's warm lips on his own. The boy melted into the kiss, stepping a bit forward until his chest was almost pressed against Light's and placing both his hands, one holding the empty cup on her hips and pulled her towards him, wanting to feel Light's body against his. Once the kiss was over, however, he grinned and replied "You sure know how to turn the tables on a man." noting how a few seconds earlier, he was leading the charge and the little hunt. "As you command, my bride." he then added, taking her cup gently and giving her another small kiss before reluctantly parting away from her and heading to the X-Men Party Hall.

Laurel giggled watching Teena dance, though she couldn't really because her dancing was just as bad. "You're a really good dancer Addy!" She exclaimed, surprised by the fact she could dance much better then herself and Teena, even in a cast. She wondered how good her blue friend would be without it. She guessed she would be very good. Laurel couldn't help giggling as the green giant did a running man, something she could never accomplish doing without tripping over her own two feet. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Shade leave Light along as he disappeared. Laurel saw that the girl had died her hair a black, and she had to admit it looked good on her, even though they didn't really get along very well. She just kept dancing, her converse occasionally causing a disco ball effect on some of the floor and people around her.

Endelyn came onto the floor with Justin and looked at how everyone was dancing, and confusion came back in full blow. "Well, this dancing I do not know that well..." she said more to herself. She was used to the more formal type dancing, something you would do at a ball. She saw Vlad doing the running man and couldn't help but giggle. To her, it looked silly.

Actually taking his eyes off the only person he even even vaguely knew, which was part of the reason he was staying around her, Justin looked around to see that most people where generally club dancing. "Well there's no real rules for how to dance honestly. I'm used to just rocking and fist pumping myself." He mentioned before actually stepping onto the floor. "Whatever you're comfortable with."

"Hey, Endelyn!" said Teena when she spotted her come close. She hadn't heard what she said since the music was loud. "Try this! I don't know how to dance but apparently it's not a problem!" She tried to imitate both Laurel and Vlad, but Laurel's movement didn't really fit with whatever she was doing and Vlad's movement was so mystic she couldn't figure it out.

Vlad, feeling truly liberated and comfortable, decided to to let out his silliness He spun around in a circle and then stopped as he faced the girls, waiting a split second for the beat of the new song. When the beat struck, he pointed his finger and then thrust it into the air from his hip, the most generic disco move known to man. He was beaming in the fun of it all, unable to keep from having a good time. He noticed Shade take off and looked the now-solitary Bride, offering her a smile and a minute tilt of his head to ask if she wanted to join them. He figured that she wouldn't, but it was simply not in his nature to ignore a beautiful woman alone on the dance floor. "You've got it now," he encouraged as Addy set her crutch aside. Then, he nudge it with his toe to send it skating towards the speakers, well out of Light's way, to rest where it would not be in the way. "I'll pick it up, I promise," he said, realizing he'd just kicked the girl's crutch away from her. With Teena seemingly trying to learn the step, Vlad grinned at her attempt and then stopped to offer, "I can try and teach you, its really simple. You'll haff it in no time!"

Addy watched her crutch go skidding across the floor, breathing a sigh of relief when Vlad said he would retrieve it again. She giggled a little at the dance moves, spinning a circle on her good foot and landing in the same spot, using her arms and legs in modern-ish dance movements she had seen online, and used while in private in her room. It would have been better had she both good feet, but as it was, Addy's natural abilities with balance and movement made her a damn good dancer.

"Certainly!" said Teena to Vlad. She then watched Addy and smiled. "Wow, you're very good!"

Light closed her eyes briefly for the quick kiss Shade gave her, reluctantly letting the boy walk away afterwards. Still, the girl smiled at the thought of how sweet he had been all night, as sweet as Shade could get, anyways, especially after their little spat earlier that day, as well as their interrupted alone time soon after. Crossing her arms, as if she were cold or uncomfortable from the lack of touch now, the girl took a step back and leaned up against the wall behind her, watching Vlad and the younger students make fools of themselves several feet away. She returned Vlad's offer with merely a smirk, staying put where she was and waiting for Shade to come back. Light was never one to go out of her way or make herself look silly just for attention - though she did enjoy the looks she normally got - and she especially was not a fan of something as ridiculous as dancing, not the kind these kids were doing, anyways. Still, she figured, maybe if Shade asked her... and maybe with a drink or two more... or maybe three, she might just agree to one little dance. Maybe.

Endelyn gave an aknowledging wave to Teena and watched what the others were doing. All of it just looked so wierd, and wasn't like the formal dancing she was so used to. She walked onto the floor with Justin and listened closely to what he was saying, though it was hard to hear him. She heard something about moving back and forth, so she swayed slightly, looking akward.

Laurel kept dancing, her head snapping up when Endelyn came on the dance floor with Justin. "Hey, Hey!" She wiggled her fingers at them happily, still bopping to the off beat. She doubled over giggling at Vlad's disco moves. She twirled and shimmied her hips a permanent smile plastered on her freckled face. She bopped Teena's hip lightly giggling, she and her friends had always gone to clubs, the under 21 ones of course, and danced so she would have fun dancing with others.

A few minutes after he'd left, Shade walked in from the X-Men Party Hall, he noticed the dance floor had gotten quite crowded, but Light was still waiting for him in the corner of the room. With a grin, the boy moved towards her holding a cup of punch on each hand and using a shadow tendril from his cloak to carry a plate of candy and other assorted sweets. Hugging the wall so as to avoid the bright lights of the dance floor, the boy made his way to Light and finally leaned back on the wall, right next to her, offering her one of the cups of punch with a grin. "Did I make you wait too long?" he asked, almost teasing as he sought her green eyes with his own gaze.

Justin was somehow able to notice that Luarel had motioned to them. He smiled and started to wave a bit as he rocked back and forth pivoting on his left foot a bit to seem to move around a bit as he took another inch towards Endelyn in case she wanted to say something. "Just do whatever, no one will judge you. Most of us can't dance either!" He managed to half shout at her.

Light continued to watch everyone dancing with an uninterested expression, unmoving and silently criticizing all the ridiculous dance moves they had to offer. Finally, Light spotted Shade moving along the edge of the dance floor, next to the wall, toward her, and she couldn't keep herself from letting a small smile through as he approached, her posture relaxing a bit, feeling more comfortable around the boy. "Way too long," she replied, returning his gaze as she took her glass of punch from his hand, immediately putting the cup to her lips and taking a swig. Turning to look at the dance floor again, Light motioned toward the horribly dancing students with her cup of punch, stating, "I'm almost embarrassed for them. Poor things can't carry a beat. And they're a bit lacking in motor function." Without really noticing or intending to, as the girl continued to watch the other kids, she leaned over just slightly, resting her arm against Shade's while she took another drink of her punch. From afar, she spotted Mihir doing some sort of nonsensical dance move that he seemed to pull out of his ass, and letting her draw drop a bit, she let out an exasperated sigh and rolled her eyes, muttering a little, "Pathetic."

"Great!" Vlad said as Teena accepted his offer to try and teach her, and stopped his silly disco boogie-ing to align himself next to her a foot or two away. "All right, now lift your left knee," he instructed, doing so himself so that one knee lifted into the air before him at about hip height. For one so large, his balance was quite good, and he only wavered a little bit as he remembered to warn the group, "Oh, since its slower, I'll probably shake the ground a bit more." Looking down to Teena again, he continued. "And then as you bring it down, hop back a little bit vith your other foot," he demonstrated, the move looking smooth and simple while the ground trembled underfoot moreso than before. "Vith your floaty powers, I should think this move vood be a snap," he encouraged, watching her to make sure she was executing it correctly. He noticed Shade return, as well as Justin and Endelyn, and gave the latter two a smile.

"Oh, I don't need my powers to do everything!" said Teena happily and tried to recreate Vlad's move, not noticing the others who came in since she concentrated on learning. She executed the move quickly and sharply, like a karateka would, and managed to not trip on her dress.

"Painful, ain't it?" replied Shade with a grin as Light took the cup of punch and brought it to her lips, his own gaze fixed on the the girl's throat, a small bump appearing on it and traveling down along her long, seductive neck as she drank. "Almost like watching the special olympics." he finally added, edging a bit closer to her until his shoulder touched the girl's, almost as if he was playing the little game of seduction all over again. Drinking a bit of his own punch, the boy passed the plate of sweets from the shadow tendril extending from his cloak to his own hand, offering it to the girl. "I take it then..." he said as if measuring his words and trying to lock his icy grey eyes with Light's emeralds. "I couldn't interest you in a dance?..." he finally asked with a tiny, mischievous smile. "A real close one?"

"Excruciating," Light replied to Shade quietly, almost absent-mindedly, the cup of punch still pressed to her lips as she took another sip, unaware that Shade was watching her. "I'd pick the special olympics over this any day," she said as she leaned a bit more into Shade's arm, this time lightly resting her head against his shoulder without thinking. Seeing the plate held out in front of her, Light perked up a bit, reaching out to take something off the plate, which turned out to be a small pumpkin-shaped sugar cookie. Just as she brought it to her lips to take a small nibble, Shade began speaking and she looked up at him from her resting spot on his arm. Hearing his offer to dance, although she was a bit surprised, a smirk spread on her lips, and after swallowing the tiny bite of cookie, she replied, "As long as it involves no clothes, I'm in." Taking another drink of her punch, she kept her eyes fixed on Shade's, and after a few seconds, she added, "But if you insist on wearing clothes.. and maybe after a few more drinks... I might say yes."

More and more as she danced, or more or less wiggled, Endelyn was feeling more and more akward. This wasn't working out as well for her. "I can't say this is much fun for me... I feel like an idiot." she said aloud, not knowing if anyone could even hear her. She looked at Justin when he yelled to her. "This isn't exactly my idea of dancing!"

Well it would be awkward to just let her walk away feeling embarrassed and i sure as hell dont want to strike up a convo with anymore people because something bad will just happen to them to. Justin tried to think of something to say to ease the situation and didnt realize the words that came out of his mouth until after they were shouted. "Well show me what you are use to." He even saw his own hand being offered to let her lead.

As soon as Light rested her head on Shade's shoulder, the boy slowly lifted up the arm with which he was holding his punch cup and put it around the girl, pulling her a bit closer. Looking down, he watched her delicately take a small sugar cookie and nibble it lightly, thinking for a second that not only was Light beautiful, but she was absolutely adorable sometimes. Soon enough, the boy caught himself thinking that and tried to snap out of it. 'Adorable' was surely not an adjective he'd ever used to describe any girl he'd been with, which made his current situation rather worrying. He had no time to dwell on it, however, the girl's response forced a grin out of him, as he nudged the side of her face with his nose and brushed his lips against the girl's cheek. "A few more drinks it is.. then." he whispered in a predatory tone into Light's ear before pulling away again. "Not like I'm fond of dancing but..." he began to say, watching her carefully, looking rather small in his arms, "... I wouldn't mind a chance to show off with the most beautiful girl in the mansion." He added as he watched Endelyn and Justin take to the dance floor without really doing much dancing yet.

As Valerie entered the dancing area from X-Men Party Hall, there was something that permeated her movement that indicated she was ready to dance. As she glanced back from the edge of the dance floor, back to the table where she'd just recently been sitting, there was a subtle but growing rhythmic motion to her body, even as she waited for Mihir, Korvka and whomever else decided to tag along. For her it was natural, and she didn't have the reservations of so many of the other students when it came to this celebratory ritual she so adoringly partook in.

Mihir walked onto the dance floor, following Val. His movements were obviously more tribal, because his dancing was a little bit less graceful than Val's. He gave her a smile as he stopped near her and listened to the song, bobbing in rhythm, until he thought he had the basic beat down.

Laurel, who had just let herself get lost in the music, finally looked up to see Mihir and Val now on the dance floor. She wiggled her fingers at them while she twisted her hips to the song.

Nathan walked onto the dance floor, turning to Val and Mihir, and smiled, walking over to them. It took him a brief moment to fall into rhythm with the song, but he eventually did sync up well with the music. The boy was certainly no professional dancer, but he did have some skill in dancing.

Feeling Shade's arm around her shoulder, Light automatically leaned into him even more, nearly snuggling up to the boy, and closed her eyes for just a split second, basking in the warmth and comfort of Shade's one-armed embrace. His nose and lips pushing against her cheek and his whisper into her ear sent a small chill up her spine, making her want to drag him off to her room right then. Instead, she stuffed half of the sugar cookie into her mouth and resisted any urges she had while she listened to him continue to speak. She paused for half a second, however, when Shade mentioned showing her off, as well as saying she was the most beautiful girl there. Unable to hide a small smile, Light finished chewing what she had left of the cookie in her mouth, then took a drink of her punch, her attention no longer on the dance floor, but completely focused on Shade. "You're being awfully sweet today," she said, looking up to him with a smirk after she'd swallowed her drink of punch. "Not hiding anything from me, are you?" she questioned, putting on a playful act of suspicion while popping the rest of her cookie into her mouth. Finally, the girl noticed that the dance floor was now getting very crowded, and she sighed and rolled her eyes, looking back up to Shade. "There goes our alone time," she said annoyedly, swirling the punch around a bit in its glass before taking another sip.

Walking with bored strides, Korvka entered the dance hall shortly behind Valerie and Mihir, making sure to stay closer to the former than the latter since he seemed to need thing spelled out pretty clearly. With her plump lips pursed, she loosely folded her arms over her chest and took a look around at the people currently having siezures to the god-awful music. It stood to reason that her eyes instantly gravitated towards Vlad, who was easily the most noticeable and the most ridiculous patron on the dance floor as of yet. The Russian's brooding brown eyes sharpened their gaze as she saw him teaching the floaty-broad how to perform some embarrassing danec move, her lip lifting just slightly into a sneer that she quickly had to remove as Valerie turned around to silently beckon her closer. Even if she was only interested in the party for the favors she had in store later, Korvka would at least try and have a good time with the few people she could consider 'friends.' "I vorn you, I can't dance," she said flatly, uncrossing her arms and flipping some of her chocolate brown spirals over her shoulder as she looked at Valerie's swaying body with marginal interest. "So...yeah..."

Vlad watched Teena as she mimicked him rather well, a smile crawling across his kindly face once she had sufficiently got it. "See? Like I said, no time!" he said, applauding, the size of his hands offering a much more boisterous clap than he'd intended. The moment Valerie stepped onto the dance floor, Vlad's attention was stolen from the gaggle of younger ladies that surrounded him as he noticed Mihir and Korvka following shortly behind the genie. He caught the glare his sister threw at him and paused as if he'd been hit in the face with a bucket full of cold water. He hoped that Valerie remembered what he asked of her, but then immediately pushed away all notions of having his answer tonight. Val would probably enjoy the party instead of trying to dig up dirt, and he gave her a grin and wave to invite Val, Mihir, and his pissed-off little brat of a sister over to where the real fun was taking place.

"Oh? I can't be sweet to you without ulterior motives?" replied Shade as the girl at his arm asked him if he was hiding anything from her. Knowing the woman, her thoughts were still on him and Camille, alone in his room, and it was probably best to get them off that subject as soon as he could. Since he had whispering into her ear, Shade pulled away and gulped down the rest of his punch in one go, putting down the cup to leave his hand free. Slowly, he leaned in once more to touch Light's cheek gently with his lips and pull her face a bit towards him with his index finger on her chin. Slowly, he moved his lips towards hers and sought out her eyes when suddenly she seemed distracted by the arrival of Korvka, Valerie and Mihir. "There it goes indeed." he hissed, looking at the group. "Why must they all move at once like a line of ugly ducklings?" he added, annoyed at the fact that Laurel, Addy, Teena, Edelyn, Vlad, Valerie, Mihir, Korvka and two newcomers had ALL gone on the dance floor in the span of exactly two minutes. "It's unnatural." he added. He quickly decided to ignore the lot and their total lack of individuality OR originality and focus on the girl he had all to himself. "Don't mind them... " he grinned mischievously as he turned around a bit so his cloak partially hid him and Light from their sight. "... now, my love.. how can I convince you I'm entirely, and totally trustworthy? an angel, really?" added Shade, drawing his lips really close to Light's now and slipping his hand down from her shoulders to her waist to pull her even closer. At the same time, he shifted his cloak into a pair of ragged, bat-like wings, ironically enough, and wrapped them around himself and the girl. As much as he could considering the strobe lights coming from the dance floor, at least. Just close to her lips, however, he stopped, "You're the only one I want on my bed, you know that." he grinned, letting the girl decide whether to kiss him or not.

Valerie flashed an exultant smile to Mihir and Nathan as they made it to the dancing area, though her expression softened when Korvka made it over, as if to simultaneously thank her and acknowledge the fact that the Russian girl quite obviously didn't want to be there. As she gently shimmied closer, Val said over the loudness of the music, 'I won't make you dance,' though she had briefly entertained the idea of trying to yank her friend bodily onto the floor. The blonde couldn't force her to have fun, after all, and certainly didn't want to get on her schoolmate's bad side, considering the task that Vlad had charged her with earlier that day. To Laurel and the older, Frankensteined Russian, she gave one of her trademarked, perky smiles, but, for the moment, otherwise declined the offer to join the established group when she leaned back in to Korvka and again projected her voice over the blare of music, even though it was Mihir who had invited Val to dance, 'What do you want to do?' The entire time, Valerie's body moved smoothly in time to the pulse of the bass, as if her body and cognition were two separate entities.

"Thank you!" Teena repeated the move Vlad had taught her but not in rhythm. She only noticed after a while that she could actually do it to the beat of the music, after which her moving actually started to look like something resembling a dance. She then noticed that many others were coming in to dance. While she could've continued, she was also hungry. "I think I shall depart to have some more snacks, to free space for the ones who actually know how to dance," she said to Laurel and anyone else who was listening. "Toodles!" Teena then headed back to X-Men Party Hall.

Laurel let out a long breath as more people came onto the dance floor. It was getting to crowded even for her. Teena's departure made her realize, no one was holding her here, she can just leave if she was uncomfortable, so she did. "I think I'll head back with Teena. She's right." Laurel then turned and weaved through the thickening crowd on the floor to exit into the X-Men Party Hall.

As Teena and Laurel left, Addy realized quickly that she was the only one still dancing next to Vlad. Not for the first time she wished she was old enough for the big Russian. Pushing that thought aside, she watched her friends leave the dance floor, stilling for a moment. It wasn't awkward with Vlad, but Korvka, Mihir, and Valerie had just entered the dance floor, as well as her roommate, who Addy was sure knew of her crush, and one of her oldest friends and his new friend. Addy swallowed and looked up at Vlad. "You still want to dance?"

"Most men can't," replied Light to Shade's initial question, keeping her eyes fixed on the dance floor. The more she let herself think about the earlier events that transpired, or that she walked in on, in Shade's room, the more the girl became annoyed, slightly angry at both Shade and Camille, and even a little saddened, something out of the ordinary for her. Luckily, Light was rather exceptional at controlling and hiding her emotions, and when Shade spoke up about everyone moving to the dance floor at once, Light pushed her previous thoughts to the back of her mind and let herself only be irritated with the situation at hand, intrusion of her private time with Shade. "It's annoying," she said in response to his statement that the way the students moved was 'unnatural'. Then, with her view suddenly obstructed by Shade and his cloak, Light finally looked up at the boy, a tiny grin tugging at the corners of her lips. The girl raised her eyebrows at his question, looking amused with the idea of Shade being a trustworthy person as she answered with a smirk, "Didn't you once tell me you were not to be trusted? Ever?" She stepped forward as Shade pulled her closer, holding her punch out to the side so that she could press her body against his while his cape formed into wings and wrapped around them. "Oh, am I?" she questioned, smiling at the boy now and continuing, "Prove it." Light had no ideas in mind for Shade to actually prove she was all he wanted, but she thought it might be fun to see what he might do. Instead of kissing him, yet, at least, the girl turned her head to the side and put her cup to her lips, downing the punch just like Shade did before, then turning back to the boy, still wearing a smirk.

Being a little distracted by the music, Endelyn snapped out of her thoughts and looked at Justin with a smile. "My type of dancing is more formal, I will try to show you as best as I can." she said and took his extended hand. It was a lot less akward with her friends watching. Their type of dancing she didn't understand, nor could she do that well. The fact that Justin was willing to learn how she did her dancing, made her feel a lot more comfortable.

Shade was a bit stunned by Light's answer, he wasn't used to being put on the spot like that, specially in a way where he didn't know how he could squirm his way back into a favorite position. For a second, the boy kept his mouth shut, contrasting with his usual skill for quick riposte. Still, he'd rather think about what he was going to say than stammer over his own words, instead, he took refuge in paradox. "And did you believe me when I said that?" grinned Shade, referring to his earlier statement about not being trustworthy. "I was clearly lying back then." he finally added as if it was the most obvious thing ever, holding back his overwhelming desire to push his lips against Light's and feel that soft, warm burst of electricity so characteristic of her kisses. Then, once more, Light threw a curve ball at him asking him to prove his commitment, opening his eyes a bit wide, the boy looked at her as if mesmerized by her cocky attitude, following her eyes as she finished her punch. The boy was almost as in disbelief, holding her close and feeling the fabric of Light's dress against him. On one hand, things were getting a bit too commitment-centric for Shade and he had, for a fleeting moment, the need to bolt. "Ok then." added the boy, pulling her close a bit more forcefully to the point where she could even drop her cup. Shade's face was completely serious, this was new to him, but he wanted Light. He wanted her so bad that he didn't care what promises he had to make... and keep. "How do I prove it?" he added, drawing his face close to hers so she could hear him in the loud dance area, trying to ignore the group behind them. Wrapping his arms around Light and looking straight into her eyes, the boy added, "Tell me what I need to do to prove it, I'll do it."

Mihir knew he was not a bad dancer. But everyone seemed so awkward. He shrugged and continued dancing, his movements showing that at least he could keep rhythm, even if his moves were unconventional. He watched Val try to get Korvka to lighten up. Like that was going to work. Mihir wished that Teena had at least stopped to say hi. She was one of the few people he liked around here. But she seemed pretty distracted by the food.

Nathan was briefly taken over by the music, he kept in rhythm with the sound, but that all came to a sudden halt. In his trance, Nathan managed to catch the toe of his shoe on the heel of his other, causing him to trip. The boy quickly fell into a heap on the floor, and rolled over, grabbing at his ankle. A slight line of cursing came from Nathan's mouth, barely under his breath. He was fairly certain that he had just re-sprained an old sports injury from High school.

When Endelyn took his hand Justin involuntarily stiffened a bit. What are you doing? what if something happens to her to? Why am i making friends?.... but i cant be a loner forever. He relaxed a bit and held her hand lightly as he politely let her position herself ad he waited to react. "Im sure i can catch on if you show me." He had honestly never formally danced besides his junior prom's slow dance.

"And I appreciate that, Val. I really do," Korvka replied in deadpan at her friend's obviously apologetic smile and promise not to physically force her to dance. But then, if she wasn't going to dance she may as well hit the road, and she'd rather jump in front of a train than give Shade the satisfaction of cockily assuming that her departure had anything to do with him. She looked sidelong to Valerie and then her gruffness disappeared through a deep exhale as the Russian girl cleared her mind of the dark places it wanted to go. If she was going to splash Daniela Morgan with a balloon filled with slop then she may as well have as much fun as she could beforehand. Wincing at her own lousy attitude, Korvka rubbed her temples for a moment and then lifted her head, wearing a much less disdainful expression. "Jesus, sorry," she apologized solely to Valerie as she tried to ignore the rapport her brother was currently sharing with Addy. "The shitty mood stops now," she announced, fluffing her curls as if they would add some volume to her smile. Looking to Mihir, who was still around, Korvka remembered that he had asked Valerie to dance and then stepped a bit to the side, gesturing towards her pink draped pal. "I believe you two are supposed to dance," she said, bumping Val with the roundness of her hip to urge her a few steps nearer to Mihir. Looking to Nathan, Korvka caught the tail end of his spectacular spill and immediately began to laugh, clamping a hand on her stomach as she watched him go sprawling. She stepped causally over to the boy with her hands on her hips as the laugh died. "Shit kid," she said, shaking her head as she heard him swearing in English. "Hey Addy," she hollered, her voice clear over the music. "are you healthy enough to port? Cinderella over here needs Hank."

"Vot?" Vlad asked rather disappointedly as Teena and Laurel both made haste away from the dance floor as fast as their little mutant feet would take them. With his arms still raised from showing Teena how to do the 'running man,' Vlad let them drop limply to his side, swinging like two green hammers by his thighs. "Okay then, bye girls!" he called, throwing on a cheerful face to wave goodbye. He then looked down at Addy as she asked her question and laughed it away. "Off course, ve can't lose steam now. I say ve go over and say hi though. Its no fun standing so far avay from friends," he said, offering his arm to her in case she wanted to lean on it. He held still so she could use his sturdy forearm and turned his head as he heard something behind him, where Val, Mihir, Nathan, and Korvka were all standing. Or rather, where everyone but Nathan was standing. Nathan, it seemed, had just wiped out quite completely. "Ouch," he said, standing up straighter as he heard his sister's rude laughter over the sound of the music. Walking over to Val and Mihir, Vlad nodded towards Nathan and asked, "vot happened?"

Addy had taken Vlad's arm to help her over to where the others were dancing. She didn't like Mihir, but Val and Korvka were okay. She saw Nathan fall and winced. When Korvka asked if she was healthy enough to 'port, she looked up again and nodded. No point in telling everyone that she was having strange pains when 'porting. It would go away soon enough. And besides, Nathan looked as if he was in enough pain. "Yeah, I can take him to see Hank." She let go of Vlad's arm and wobbled over to Nathan, crouching as low as she could get.

Nathan looked up to the Russians, and gave a pained laugh, "I'm fairly alright," he winced slightly, "I think I just re-injured an old sprain from High School." He lifted his leg a little bit from the floor and tried to roll his ankle, but the pain struck him, and he winced again. With Addy approaching him, he looked at her, "Looks like I might need that 'port," He gave the girl a slight smile through the pain.

Valerie smiled happily and almost approvingly at Korvka's decision to make a concerted effort to have a good time, and shrugged a little at her apology. 'No need for apologies, I just want everyone to have a good time!' she explained with no lack of luster in her voice and in her expression. When Korvka gently hip-checked her, Val tottered a bit on her heels, as she hadn't expected it, and was successfully nudged sideways toward Mihir. She offered the fiery mutant a demure smile, as if to wordlessy ask if he still wanted to dance, but the motion of Nathan's downward tumble then caught the girl's attention, and her mouth formed an O of surprise; the tiny, similarly surprised gasp she issued was drowned out by the volume of the music, however. 'Oh, my goodness, Nathan! Are you okay?' she asked, though it was more of a rhetorical question by the looks of how he was grabbing his ankle and wincing. As a couple of concerned students came to his aid, Val stayed off to the side-- she found that nobody really liked to be crowded when these events happened-- and smiled to Addy and Vlad as they came on over to help.

Endelyn put her hand on Justin's shoulder and looked down at their feet. "Now, you're the gentleman, so you're supposed to lead. It's an easy dance. One two three one two three." she said as she demonstrated the simple steps slowly. "All the fancy spins and such get added once you're more comfortable. That's mostly just with the flow." she explained, then looked over at all of the commotion. "Is everything okay over there?" she called out loudly over the music.

Justin had been looking down quickly putting the sweeping yet rhythmic steps to memory like there would be a test later. He had just started to get them right and slowly take the lead from his dance partner when he realized she had asked him a question. His gaze shot over to the floor to see Nathan on the ground clutching his ankle. He felt the urge to go over and see if he was ok but there seemed to be a crowd already in action for that same thought. And besides right now this is pretty awesome. I go from not talking to anyone to landing a slow dance with a cute girl in one day. "It looks like someone took a spill."

Addy took Nathan's hand and screwed up her face before teleporting them both to the X-Men Infirmary.

Of course, the hero was coming to save the day, Korvka noticed as her oaf of a brother lumbered over to inspect what the commotion was. Sighing when he approached, the Russian woman stepped to the side, conveniently away from him in a disinterested stride, folding her arms loosely over her chest as she shrugged at his question. "Vot does it look like? He fell down." As Addy crouched to 'port the fallen Fabio, Korvka took it upon herself to look around for other areas of interest. Despite her earlier promise to Valerie to try and muster up a good time, the constant presence of people was annoying her like pesky flies. While she searched for an escape her arms tightened over her bust as a subconscious cue that she was reaching her limit. Her gaze filtered through the boring drones who were waltzing, and beyond the bulk of Vladimir to spy Light and Shade having an intimate moment. She saw him yank her towards him and her eyes flared angrily at the gesture for a second. After their afternoon together, Korvka admittedly wanted to go and say hi to her friend, but remembered how worried she had been about Shade and decided against it. It seemed both she and Shade made a few sacrifices for the slim, bitchy girl's sake. Waving away the puff of acrid smoke that Addy's teleport had left behind, the swashbuckler spotted the unusually timid smile that Val gave to her frozen dancing partner and sighed, realizing that the only person left there for her to speak to was her brother. Finally, her eyes drifted up to his. With nothing prepared to say, mostly thanks to her constanct avoidance of her elder sibling as of the past month, Korvka cleared her throat and wished she'd come up with something really snarky. Instead, flustered as usual, she relied on body language and simply waited for her normally chatty brother to open his big yap first.

Mihir watched the going ons as if from afar, until Korvka successfully maneuvered Val over to him. When she turned to check on the fallen mutant, he put a warm hand on her shoulder, looking over until Addy 'ported away. With a shake of his head, he looked at Val. "There is one down. Ready to dance?"

Vlad looked down to Korvka as she moved to the side and threw him some lip, so typical of her sour mood as of late. His face was disapproving, wondering if perhaps so much time with Light had rubbed off on his sister's behavior somehow. She was grumpy most of the time, but this seemed somehow different than her usual Russian gruffness. Remaining silent to avoid a loud and unnecessary confrontation, Vlad looked back down to Nathan, whom he could obviously see had fallen. Since no one was forthcoming with an answer he'd simply have to assume that he'd gotten tied up in his leggings or something like that, though, judging by her reaction, he briefly wondered if Korvka had tripped him. He smelt the sulfuric plume of smoke but was well above it to avoid the majority of the pungent fumes as Addy teleported Nathan into Doc McCoy's care. Now that the dance floor was much less crowded, the large Russian noticed that he had caught Val and Mihir in the middle of the typical dance floor mating ritual: guy looks at girl, girl looks at guy, both feel uncomfortable for a moment, and then dancing ensues. He was a bit disappointed that Mihir had asked Val to dance before he had, but the night was young and he figured that he could always ask her later. Feeling as if he were standing next to a black hole for sunshine and happiness, Vlad felt the icy prickle of his sister's glare upon him and met her eyes. They were both silent until Vlad broke the tension with a nervous laugh and scratched the back of his large, green neck. "That costume suits you. You only need a sword now," he started, trying to keep things neutral.

Disappearing in the puff of smoke, Nathan was 'ported to the X-Men Infirmary.

Endelyn smiled as Addy took Nathan away with a puff of smoke. "He's in good hands." she said as she danced with Justin. She was glad he caught on quickly, seeing that she wasn't that great of a teacher in the first place. She was a lot more relaxed than what she was when she first walked onto the dance floor.

'That's too bad,' Valerie gently commented as Addy spirited Nathan away, but in the loud atmosphere it was more likely only her compassionate expression that conveyed her message. When Mihir placed his hand on her shoulder, she smiled back at him, suddenly recharged from her moment of concern. Everything was going to be taken care of, so the dancer figured she should continue to enjoy herself. Val touched her own blithe hand on top of Mihir's-- there was little to be read into this gesture other than she was ready and accepting his invitation to dance. Curling her fingers under his, she gave one last look toward Korvka, who appeared to be ready to square off against Vlad. She decided not to intervene at the moment, for, even with Val's gentle encouragement to cut loose, there still seemed to be a lingering resistance to the idea. How big of a scene could the siblings make on the dance floor, anyway? With a single, succint nod, Valerie smiled and conceded, 'I am totally ready!'

Noticing Endelyn was relaxing, Justin loosened up himself. The movements of the slow yet elegant waltz seemed soothing in the unusual atmosphere. He went from gazing over her shoulder at the intermingling mutants to incidentally wandering to her eyes without thinking occasionally only to quickly avert his stare back to right beyond Endelyn's ear. He thought of Nathan and secretly hoped his new acquaintance was indeed alright, and of the seemingly instinctual pairing of most of the students. "It almost seems cliche how everyone managed to find one or two others to pair up with." He noted out loud half to himself half to Endelyn.

Endelyn looked up thoughtfully as she heard the song that was playing. She nodded to Justin, thinking the same thing about everyone. When she finally figured out the lyrics, her classical confused look came back. "...baby got back...? What is this song about exactly? I do not quite understand the lyrics." she said, thinking about it. She really couldn't come up with anything.

"Hmm?" Justin seemed lost for a second before his face flushed completely. He looked about frantically as if the answer was written on one of the lights. "Um well the singer is...you see its dedicated to the... uh well beauty of the female...... form. Sir mixalot admires the... Curves?" He tried his best to put a song about butts as politely as he could.

Light had to raise an eyebrow at Shade's unusually long silence, normally expecting a quick, and usually clever, response from the black-haired boy. A tiny smirk played on her lips when he asked if she believed him, and she let out a laugh and tilted her head back when he told her he was lying. "I'm not sure if I should believe anything you say," the girl replied quietly, still smirking a bit, before she finished off her punch. Then seeing his eyes open wide, she raised her brow in amusement, simply waiting for an answer from Shade. This time, as Shade jerked her against his body, causing her empty punch cup to tumble to the floor, Light was the one in disbelief as Shade asked her what he needed to do. "Uh," she began to say, feeling his arms wrap tightly around her while she hesitantly put hers around his neck. She had no idea what to tell him. And she really hadn't been expecting him to be so agreeable with the idea. Taking a deep breath, Light let it out in a sigh, closing her eyes for just a second before opening them and looking around the dance floor for half a second. Finally, she turned back to Shade, embracing him tighter and looking into his eyes. "Don't talk to her again." Sure, Light was pretty demanding and controlling at times, but she had never gotten like this over a boy, so she was a bit surprised to hear the words come out of her own mouth, but it was what she wanted. "Just stay away from her," she added, almost whispering, pushing her face close to his and closing her eyes, her lips barely brushing his. "That's it."

Mihir smiled and shifted his grip on Val's hand. Making the motion for her to twirl under his arm, he nodded in time with the music. "Nothing like dancing with a pretty girl." He grinned and pulled Val into a quick dance, ignoring what else was going on around him on the dance floor.

Shade's characteristic grin slowly crept back onto his face as his lover seemed a bit befuddled by his earnest answer. The boy had been rather serious for a minute or two, which was extremely strange on him, but he didn't want to leave any doubt that he meant whatever he was about to promise. Once he felt Light's warm body against his, through the soft fabric of her dress, he was distracted for a second by a commotion on the dance floor as Nathan took a tumble, followed by the characteristic smoky explosion from Addy's transportation. A split second later, however, his eyes were back on Light's, grinning as she named her conditions. "That seems pretty simple." he whispered, pushing the girl a little bit more against the wall so their bodies were closer together. As the dancing organized itself behind them, he could barely hear Korvka and Vlad arguing a bit, but he decided to ignore it, as he was focused on Light at the time. "I have no desire to talk to anyone other than you..." whispered back the boy as he felt her lips touching his. Closing his eyes, the boy leaned in to give his girlfriend a loving, passionate kiss, letting one of his hands roam up and down her side and the other one caress the girl's jaw. He closed his eyes, feeling the warm, electric bursts coming from her lips against his own and enjoying her taste and smell. Suddenly, however, the boy was hit by some stray strobe lights from the dance floor, which promptly dispersed his shadow cloak and shone on the back of his neck. The boy winced a bit but didn't break the kiss until a few seconds afterwards, pulling back, Shade grinned and whispered. "I won't talk to her anymore." as if to reinforce his promise. "This place is kind of crowded.. though, I reckon there are a few empty game tables on the opposite side of the dance floor, my love." proposed Shade as he wrapped the girl in his cloak and let his lips brush against the corner of Light's lip, as if nuzzling her cheek with his nose. "I could port us there..."

Korvka scoffed and rolled her eyes at her brother's lame compliment. She was fairly certain that he'd make a much bigger deal about Daniela's 'adorable' ensemble once he saw it, since they were now much closer than she and he. "Yeah thanks, Frank," she mumbled as the sting of supplantation coursed through her veins again. With her arms tightly clamped over her chest and her plump lip jutted out, she began to look more and more like a pouty younger sister than a pissed off pirate. At least he was on edge around her, a fact in which she took a small measure of satisfaction. Looking at his green paint, bolts, and scars with dull eyes, she shrugged and offered her criticism. "You make a decent monster in theory but Frankenstein's creature vos driven by loneliness to slaughter people. Guess I had better let you get back to your friends," she suggested, her brown eyes quite accusatory as they smoldered up at him from below. Then, she let her arms drop from their vice around her bust and walked coolly and calmly away from him, doing her best not to storm off and give him the satisfaction of critiquing her behavior. She looked for Val but saw that she had finally begun dancing with Mihir and decided against announcing her departure. En route to X-Men Game Tables, Korvka took a deep breath and went to seek out Flame, despite the annoying IT that was always clinging to her.

Standing there with a sheepish smile on his face, Vlad had never felt like more of a stranger to his own kin. She was pissed off about something serious, or was at least taking it to an extreme, which she tended to do if she kept things bottled up for too long. Still, her attitude was quite reminiscent of a spoiled brat and he glared at her. "You're velcome," he replied succinctly to her flippant appreciation of the effort he was making to try and figure out what her beef was. Did trying stand for nothing? When she came back at him with a snotty appraisal of his quite-amazing costume, he shook his head and let out a single, hollow laugh. "You're something else, you know that?" he asked, narrowing his eyes to pin her under them. His engine was officially started - what the HELL was her problem? Here he was trying like a fool to make nice with someone who was hellbent to treat him like shit. As she began to walk away he turned after her, calling, "Go ahead, volk avay like you alvays do!" he said, his temper finally catching up to him. First the fiasco with Flame and then the run-in with Shana, and now, finally, the cherry on top. "Vot a bitch," he growled under his breath as Korvka disappeared to the Games Tables. Now that there was no one to talk to, Vlad realized he was the odd man out on the dance floor - Val and Mihir were twirling, Justin and Endelyn were waltzing, and Light and Shade were making out. Again. Putting a large, green hand over his stomach, Vlad remembered his abandoned plate of food and decided to rejoin the buffet. Leave it to Korvka to ruin a good time, he thought, as he walked to X-Men Party Hall looking just the slightest bit deflated.

With an airy giggle, Valerie twirled on the ball of her heeled foot, easily passing under the taller boy's arm, and fell into the tempo of the music along with Mihir after he pulled her toward him. She rested her other hand lightly on his shoulder, allowing him to take the lead, though she couldn't immediately ignore the fact that the group of people who'd come to the dance floor either presently or a little while ago had abandoned their venture. Val took one last glance over her shoulder, a fleeting concern gracing her features as Korvka and Vlad walked off in two seperate directions, before focusing back on her partner, for whom she smiled-- on the other hand, she was enjoying herself. 'I meant to ask you earlier, but who are you supposed to be?' she said, leaning in slightly so that he might better hear, and tried to speak clearly over the music, even as they danced.

Mihir smiled as Valerie moved quite easily into the dance. Of course, she was a magnificent dancer, and this was the first time in a little while he could completely be himself and not worry about what else was going on around him. Val made it easy, and that made him happy. Taking her waist, he led her to the quick rhythm, his feet carefully avoiding hers, and the dance was more of a mix of a tango and salsa. When Val asked her question, Mihir laughed. "Honestly, I have no idea. Some anime character the shop girl talked me into." He gave her a genuine smile, knowing that she would at least understand the cultural differences that led him to not really knowing how to celebrate Halloween. "She said either this or some guy named Jacob Black. But as far as I could tell, that Jacob character is a shape changer. Already have one of those in the tribe."

Totally oblivious now to everything else going on that didn't involve her or Shade, Light let herself be pushed against the wall behind her, tightening her arms' grip around her lover's neck as he held her close and whispered his intentions to her. With her eyes already closed, the girl nearly melted in Shade's arms as he kissed her, tilting her head to the side just a little to be able to kiss him back deeply. In the middle of the kiss, a bright light shined past Shade, hitting her briefly in the eyes, and making her shut her eyes tightly; at the same time, she barely noticed Shade wincing from the exposure to the light, and she automatically covered the back of his neck with both of her hands, shielding his skin from any other stray lights. Pulling his face closer, Light deepened the kiss for a few seconds, before he finally broke away from her lips and repeated his promise to her in a whisper, barely audible to her ears. She simply looked up at him instead of replying, and when he offered to take her over to the game tables and away from the dance floor, she let her eyes linger on his a little longer, then moved her gaze over to said tables. Light narrowed her eyes a bit at what she saw: Flame and Kaider. On one hand, yes, she wanted away from the dance floor and to be in a more secluded spot with Shade, but on the other, she wasn't very fond of the freakish duo sitting near the games. "Alright," she said after a few seconds of silence, "just keep freaks one and two away from us." She was a little relieved to see that Korvka was making her way to the area, but that didn't make her any less wary about being near two of her least favorite people in the mansion. Moving her gaze back up to Shade, she pushed herself up on her toes to give him a short, soft kiss, then dropped back down and said with a small grin, "Let's go."

Endelyn tilted her head when Justin explained the song. "Oh, I see. Well, what an odd thing to dance to." she couldn't help but giggle. "But I don't mind really. I highly doubt anything classical will be played at this party." she said. She was always listening to Addy's music with her in their room for her laptop, and Endelyn never really understood modern music. "Out of all the music I've heard from Addy's laptop, I really like... what's his name... Justin Bieber?"

Even though the ridiculous song playing was released when she was much younger, and she had many times danced to the funny, off-color anthem, Valerie enjoyed the fact that she and her partner hadn't to fall victim to the senseless grinding and gyration that always seemed to go hand-in-hand with these sort of tunes. 'Ahhhh,' she said in response to Mihir's explanation regarding his costume, though whether or not she fully grasped what he was getting at was left to be seen. 'Jacob Black,' she then said, her face crinkling with amusement and stifled laughter, '...yeah, he's a werewolf. It's a pretty easy costume, I guess... well, half a costume, anyway. Jeans and abs you could play like a washboard.' She laughed in spite of herself, and shook her head before explaining, whether or not he knew what she was talking about, 'My little sister is all about that Twilight stuff, I took her to see the first movie,' then jokingly rolled her eyes as if she, herself was not particularly a fan. 'He is Native American, though.'

Looking up so Endelyn wouldn't happen to see him squint his eyes in dismay, Justin stifled a sigh. "Well thats a start i guess. If you would like i have a good collection of music on my gaming computer in my dorm. I could recommend a few bands, Linkin park or perhaps something along the lines of country or maybe even rap. There something for everyone." He had to think for a second before he added. "Oh your friends with Addy? The teleporter who helped Nathan right?"

Shade noticed his lover shielding the sensitive skin of the back of his neck from the strobe lights of the dance floor and felt like kissing her again. It was an extremely weird feeling for him, never before had anyone tried to protect him after being shown his true self and it both scared him and made him slightly happy, causing the boy to betray a small grin as he peered into Light's bright green eyes. "Don't worry, you know they don't like to come near me." he replied to Light's wish to keep away from Kaider and Flame. Suddenly, he was interrupted by the girl giving him a swift kiss, which made him close his eyes for a second and his grin grew much wider without even noticing. "Yes, my love." he said once she pulled away, reprising his earlier 'Transylvanian' accent as he lifted one of his arms, dragging with it the black shadow cloak and wrapped it around Light's body while his lips moved straight to the girl's neck, pretending to be a typical movie vampire. Once his lips touched the side of Light's neck, he nipped on it gently, but quickly, trying to tickle her as his cloak wrapped entirely around the both of them and had the pair disappeared into the floor, shadowporting them across the room to the X-Men Game Tables.

Lucas made his way through the crowd on the dance floor. He had never been to one of these things before and as he had approached the dance floor he had looked on to the carnal movements with a slight nervousness, wondering if this was the norm. He did wonder what he was doing here, from what he had read about dancing, it was generally done in pairs. But of course being new he didn't really fit into the puzzle unfolding before him.

Mihir made a face at the mention of Twilight. "Never saw it, have no intention to ever see it." He spun her again and pulled her in, continuing the dance. So far, he was doing pretty good. All that poi was making his rhythm better. This song was awful, but at least he could still dance to it...sort of. "Why is it that all natives have to be sexy or beastial? What if I wanted to be the Terminator?" He grinned suddenly. "I can pull off a decent Schwarzenegger."

Settling back into step after the second twirl, Valerie shrugged in response to Mihir's question, though the vague gesture might have been lost amidst the continual movement of their dance. 'Who knows... not really the first thing that comes to my mind, but just one of those stereotypes, I guess,' she answered truthfully. Momentarily oblivious to the comings and goings of the dance floor, and after a couple moments of saying nothing, Val finally ventured, as if in delayed realization of her partner's last remark, 'Schwarzenegger? Really?' The genie raised her eyebrows in playful doubt as a smile curved one side of her lips.

With her arms still draped around Shade's neck, and her hands guarding his skin, Light let her grin grow a bit wider at Shade's faked accent, then rolled her eyes playfully before the boy's cloak wrapped around the both of them. Automatically, she wrapped her arms tightly around the boy, holding on as he nipped at her neck, getting the start of a laugh out of her just as the shadow portal made them disappear into the floor.

Endelyn nodded at the thought of listening to different types of music. "That sounds like fun, I do enjoy music a lot." she said. She smiled when he asked about Addy. "Yeah, she's my roomate, and was one of my first friends when I got here. She's really nice and has been teaching me a lot of stuff." she said with a small chuckle.

"I love Ah-nold," Mihir said with a smile. He spun Valerie again, taking her hand once more and leading her away from the other dancers. "Come with me if you want to live," he said in his best Schwarzenegger voice. He was trying to make her laugh. He really liked Val, she was nice, and right then, he needed nice.

"Oh you share a room? Hmm i ended up by myself." Justin almost seemed to ponder the arrangement before he turned back to the conversation, his steps slow and precise matching every third beat of the fast pop song with one hand in Endelyn's and the other resting on her waist. "What has she shown you?"

Valerie spied only Endelyn, Justin and Lucas as largely unidentifiable blurs as she whirled about at Mihir's dancerly behest for the third time, though she did look back over her shoulder in a friendly sort of hello/goodbye gesture to the others before she was whisked to a more remote area of the dance floor. Cracking a wry smile, Val did laugh, though it may have been simply out of giddy enjoyment of the moment rather than actual amusement at his impression. It probably didn't matter much either way, of course. With her fingers of her free hand splayed gently atop her chest, she admitted, 'I suppose I do value my life,' and shuffled her heeled sandals along with the pulse of the song playing. After a month or so, it was nice to see Mihir opening-up, and for the moment and for once, Val neglected to think twice about the remainder of her friends elsewhere in the party hall. The blonde stopped quite suddenly in her forward movement, however, and loosened her hand from Mihir's. Blinking a couple times at first, and then in rapid succession, she reached a hand delicately to her left eye-- it appeared that, even in the middle of the dance floor, she managed to get something in it. 'Oh, uhm... Mihir, I'm sorry. I'll be right back,' she hastily but apologetically uttered before scooting off toward the X-Men Party Hall.

Lucas remained in the same spot for a moment, his head turning and observing, however he found the dance floor crowded, and to his disliking. He promptly left and headed back towards the X-Men Party Hall

When Valerie took off, Mihir watched her go, confused as to why she was running off. He backed off the dance floor and stood there, looking at the ground. What could he do until she returned?

Endelyn had to think back on what Addy had taught her. "Well let's see... she's showed me how a laptop works, how a camera works. A scanner as well. My favorite part has to be the scanner and the music. I never knew you could take a picture you've drawn, and transfer it to a laptop with only a few seconds! It's astonishing." she said. She laughed lightly. "You probably think I'm wierd now, huh?"

"Unique was the word that came to mind actually." Justin half laughed to the side a bit but then turned and met Endelyn with a smile. "Its like you stepped right out of the nineteenth century. Are you? Like is your power time travel or something or are you like Amish?" His face became quizzical as he corrected himself trying not to insult her.

Endelyn couldn't help to laugh at the nineteenth century and about the time travel. "Amish would be a better term. My parents are against modern things. They raised my brother and myself without modern items, like a T.V. or camera. For them it is all hard work and family." she smiled. "It's refreshing to see and experience the modern times."

Edging right around the dance floor proper, Valerie slowed as she neared Mihir, but shuffled to the beat of the music, not seeming in the least self-conscience, even if she looked silly. When she was close enough, Val reached a hand out to gently touch his elbow, since he was apparently focused on the ground, and apologized again. 'Sorry! There was something in my eye,' she explained with a gesture toward her face as if to emphasize the point. 'It was driving me nuts!' Pausing, she regarded him with a touch of hopefulness. 'You still wanna...' she trailed off, jerking her pony-tailed head toward the dancing area.

"You sound like my grandfather." Justin smiled at the memory. "But he always said,'as the the things get nicer the people become meaner.' And i guess he is right, my cousins are spoiled rotten." His mind wandered, as it usually tends to do, to what his life would have been like had he grown up without the twentyfirst century luxuries. He quickly snapped back to the dance floor when he noticed he had drifted off. "So.... you seem pretty normal. Whats your... um would ability or mutation be more accurate?"

With a smile, Mihir took Val's hand and spun her back onto the dance floor. "That is fine. I was worried you were running off because of my awful dance moves." He gave her a wink as he turned so that he could catch a glimpse of the other dancers. At least she had come back.

Endelyn chuckled. "I can show you better than I can tell you." she said. She reached down and unclipped her little knife from her ankle. She held it off to the side and lengthened it to it's full four foot length. She looked back at Justin and smiled. "I can also shorten it back. It's because of the mix of metals in it that allows me to have this much control. Any other kind cracks in my hands if I try to use my powers on it."

With a surprised jump, Justin sprang back when Endelyn drew her blade. "Well that is certainly.....unique." A small bead of sweat formed on his brow. The sudden appearance of a weapon had brought the suppressed fear of weapons he had buried over the last month to the surface. His hands shook a bit as he forced his heart to slow, getting himself back under control. Shes a freind...sort of... chill and relax. That's it, slow your breath dont seem afraid. Better better. His brow unclenched as he approached her again. "Must uh be something special then, huh?"

Valerie whirled back onto the dance floor with her partner and provided a little finishing flourish with her free arm as she momentarily posed. 'I'm not about to criticize anyone who's willing to dance,' she said with a smile, an endearing wrinkle of her nose and a playful squeeze of Mihir's hand. She, too, took a second to look at the other couple upon the dance floor, her eyebrows raising in sudden and genuine surprise as Endelyn was presently wielding a... sword? It didn't even cross the dancer's mind that it might somehow be related to the other student's mutation, and Val looked back to Mihir, unsure of whether she should be concerned or not. It did, after all, look like the black-haired girl was dressed in some sort of medieval garb, so maybe it was just a prop. 'Uhm. Did she have that before?'

Looking over as well, Mihir shook his head. "I think...that is what she does." He stared for a moment before shaking himself out of it. He looked at her. "Not exactly dance floor type of thing, though."

Endelyn looked confused when Justin jumped away, so she shortened the blade once more and put it back on her ankle. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." she said and happened to look around. She noticed that the other people on the floor were staring at her as well, and she blushed brightly out of embarassment, and got a sudden urge to go crawl in a corner. Her thoughts were shining clear on her face, giving her a look that would look like she was about to cry.

"No no, im just skiddish around weapons is all..." Justin smiled as he tried to smooth the situation over. His smile faded as he saw the tears form in the corner of her eyes. "Im sorry i just..." But his words didnt seem to be softening the mood at all and before he realized it he simply reacted. Justin's arms reached out pulling her to him hiding her face right in the curve of his neck, his mind was reasoning that it was keeping her from being embarrassed by crying in public but existentially it probably didn't appear that way. "They wont notice if it blends in with my marker blood."

With a slight nod and understanding gradually gracing her features, Valerie glanced back over toward Endelyn with her fresh enlightenment, just as she retracted the weapon. In this circumstance, it now made perfect sense. The blonde, lingering at the edge of the dance floor, was too far to discern the girl's embarrassment, however, and she promptly looked back to Mihir when Justin pulled Endelyn in to an embrace. It seemed like a strange series of events, but who was Valerie to judge?  'Are you sure you still want to dance?' she inquired as a smile turned-up one side of her mouth. Hoping to jar Mihir out of his sudden dance floor stagnation, Val reached for his other hand and tried to perform a couple of silly mock-dance moves, mostly swinging their arms side-to-side in unison and then briefly up in the air, London Bridge style.

Mihir laughed as Val started her strange dancing. He nodded and joined her in the horrible dancing. Mihir's knees moved in and out quickly and pointing in the air, doing some sort of bad disco dance. "Sorry, I was momentarily distracted," he said as he continued his stupid dance. "I am not embarrassing you yet, am I?" He then pulled out the best of his stupid dance moves he knew, including his chicken impression.

'You would have to do something pretty darn extreme to embarrass me!' Valerie laughingly replied, though it may have been a subtle challenge for her partner. After almost thirteen years of sometimes spangled, frilly, awkward, revealing and/or tacky dance costumes that she had to wear in front of all sorts of audiences, embarrassment was largely something the blonde checked at the door a long time ago. There were a couple of areas that would always likely be touchy for her, of course-- for some reason, people outside her hometown region found her dialect easily mockable, she was self-conscience of her uncanny aural resemblance to Steve Urkel when she laughed, and, of course, the most noteworthy event of her life thus far, her mutation. But this? This was fun, and, after her blue eyes made a cursory perusal of the hall, it didn't seem as if anyone was minding anything that they were doing on the dance floor, anyway. Furthermore, it was also good to see Mihir, whom Val had presumed to be generally reserved, cut loose a little. In response to his chicken dance, the genie, finally taking a cue from her costume and with disregard to the modern music, eased into a Middle Eastern-esque dance, or, at least, her best mainstream, stereotypical American interpretation of such a dance. 'I could ask the same of you!'

"And the genie finally dances!" Mihir said loudly as he stopped to watch for a moment. Then he took her hand, pulling it towards him. "Marry me! I know we only met a short time ago, but your genie dance has inspired me!" He stepped beside her, throwing his hands up as if to show a marquee. "We will be famous! Me on my flute, you dancing. It will be great!" He was clearly joking, his big cheesy smile giving him away, but it was still fun.

Endelyn accepted Justin's hug with much appreciation, and buried her face into his shoulder to hide her embarassment. This was a good way to hide, besides going into a corner. Endelyn wrapped her arms around him and rested her hands on his back. She'd never really hugged a guy before, so now her face was red with both embarassment and shyness.

Valerie smiled and curtseyed when Mihir took her hand, then resumed dancing as the boy explained his suddenly inspired plan; pausing mid-turn, she regarded him over her shoulder with a playful doubtfulness, her eyebrows raised at his extemporaneous proposal. 'Maybe we can even get our own variety show... like Sonny and Cher,' she started while finishing her circuit and upon his conclusion. Again facing him, Val straightened her arms out before her, fingers laced together, and gave an evasive little shrug, her attention gradually drifting off to the side. She tried her darnedest to keep a straight face, and was able to long enough to continue, 'But, to be honest, I would kinda like to finish college first, have something to, like, fall back on in case our careers don't... you know... take off.'

"Do you want to be the doctor or lawyer?" Mihir asked as he spun her into the dance again. "Because I have always had a thing for law, being the son of the lawmaker and all, but I could be a doctor, too." He was teasing her, and joking, and having a great time. He could almost forget what happened with Vlad and Korvka, and his smile was real.

Justin rocked back and forth a bit to hide within the music. His eyes wandered to her hair taking in every strand as patches of her cheeks glowed from underneath. He enjoyed the embrace as it lasted taking a quite breath. He leaned in close to her ear, "So whenever your feeling better just pull away."

Endelyn did pull back and tucked her hair behind her ear, something she did when her shyness was overwhelming. "Right, sorry about that." she said and laughed slightly, scratching the back of her head. She smiled though. "Thank you."

'Well, I was thinking more along the lines of, liiike, physical therapy... or...possibly something along the lines of sports medicine... with a focus on dancers, of course,' Valerie revealed, not kidding, but otherwise appreciative of Mihir's levity, at which she laughed even before she had begun to speak. 'So your dad's a lawyer or something?' Val asked, probably misinterpreting what he said, though she was genuinely interested . The blonde had fallen back into a subtle movement with the pulse of the music, and it could barely be considered dancing, but she figured it was better to move at least a little than to linger stock-still on the dance floor.

Mihir smiled as she asked if his father was a lawyer. If only that was the case, maybe he wouldn't have it so rough back home. "I wish. He is the chief of our tribe. He is the law." Mihir gave a snorting laugh as he started to move in a simple two step. "Or at least that is how it was way back. And how my grandfather kept telling it." The intricacies of the tribe would lose most people unless they were raised in that way of thinking. Val was pretty open minded as far as Mihir could tell. Maybe she would understand.

"So um..." Justin looked down and away, laughing awkwardly, "No problem i guess. It is a cool power by the way. I dont think i have seen anyone actually use a sword before outside of like anime conventions. But i mean they aren't really real like yours so not as cool." He noticed he had started to ramble in the awkward post-embrace atmosphere even with the music blaring behind them. He suddenly looked as if he had an idea and plunged his hands straight down into seemingly nothing as his hands disappeared up to his wrists only to re-appear above the punch bowl grabbing two cups and jumped back to where they were n the dance floor. He held one out to her. "Would you like a drink?"

Endelyn had heard Addy use the term cool before, it meant something interesting. The only thing Endelyn got confused about was the anime thing. What in the world was that? She shook the thought out of her head when he suddenly made a portal and came back with drinks. "I could say the same for your power, that's really.. cool." she said with a slight pause and giggled, since it was her first time using such an odd word. She took the offered drink and took a sip. It was really refreshing.

Like most outsiders, Valerie possessed a very vague understanding of what tribal life entailed, and most of what she did know was gleaned from books she'd read a while ago, and even then what she knew wasn't necessarily applicable to Mihir's situation. 'Oh,' she replied, not expecting that to be the actual answer, '...wow! So do you, like... inherit that position then?' Val spoke loudly and in snippets so she could better be comprehended over the music, and continued dancing lightly the entire time, her sleek pony tail swaying behind her head like a pendulum, wholly unaware that she might be approaching some touchy subject matter.

"If I was not banished, yes, I would," Mihir said, his eyes narrowing on the ground. "As it stands, I am not allowed on tribal lands until the elders decide if I am a threat or not." He knew Val didn't mean anything by her questions, but it was still hard to control the feelings involved in the matter. And it wasn't as if the last month had really found a solution to his problem.

Justin was oblivious he had been talking over Endelyn's head when he started to ramble. "Well no its mostly a convienance power, you know useful for chores and tricks and such. I cant really do much in a tough situation..." And with that comment his mind wandered off to the incident in the woods. He hadnt been able to protect his friends at all, even with his powers they had still been abducted. Maybe with a sword or something useful... he napped back refocusing on Endelyn. "I'm so sorry i tend to wander off in thought alot."

With a nod, Endelyn smiled softly. "It's okay, I do it sometimes as well. Very rarely though." she said and was a little concerned with the expression he had on his face when he had wandered into thought. It must have not been a very good thought, or at least that is what Endelyn was thinking. "Are you okay?" she asked.

"Um yeah im just still kind of frazzled from an incident a while back." Justin's free hand combed through his scalp as he tried to explain. He was mostly just finding something to do with his hands. "I tend to think alot even when its not needed. So what did you do for fun without the distractions of the modern world?"

When Mihir's buoyant attitude suddenly deflated, Valerie stumbled slightly as she over tread one of her heeled feet. She recovered as gracefully as possible and appeared otherwise unaffected by the dancing gaffe as concern settled into her features. For the second time that day, her guileless stream of inquiry had brought an otherwise enjoyable conversation crashing toward the ground-- the first time was when she asked Vlad if Flame was going to be the complement to his Frankenstein costume. Thankfully, no harm, no foul, that issue had been resolved quickly enough, though Val still felt bad about dredging-up the subject. Hopefully she could do the same. 'Hey, uh... sorry,' she ventured, reaching a hand to touch his arm, a friendly and humanizing gesture if anything. 'It really stinks, getting kicked-out, it was probably one of the most hurtful things that I've experienced... when I was expelled from college,' the blonde offered, able to empathize, at least to a point, with the boy, '...banishment from your home and family must be a truly awful thing to endure.' Valerie hoped she could keep the conversation from getting much darker, since they were in the middle of a party, but she didn't want to just marginalize the matter, either.

It was a conversation he had not had with many people. And the reason he was at the institute to begin with. But Mihir still couldn't seem to control the first impulse to get angry. He shook his head, clearing it of the memories of his father and the elders banishing him with little more than the clothes on his back and the items in his pockets. "Yes, it is. But it is better than the reality I would have to face if I still lived there." He knew this for a fact. Mihir had always felt he was second in his father's eyes, but with his powers, he quickly downgraded to last. It wasn't a happy thought, and Mihir quickly dismissed it, looking up at his dancing partner once more. "Sorry, that got a little un-party like."

Endelyn smiled and thought a bit. "I love the outdoors, and admiring different plants. Hunting is another thing I used to do with my brother a lot." she said with a slight nod. "Otherwise, my mother was teaching me to sew. I'm not very good at it though." she said as an after thought. She realised they had stopped dancing all together and started to sway side to side to the music.

Justin unconsciously copied her motions not realizing they had stopped dancing for a brief period. His head swayed a bit as his hips followed showing unusual coordination for a guy. "Well thats some common ground. I love being outdoors but i am mostly camping or simply wandering around observing nature. Cant say im any good at sewing or any housework really but i have a nack for cooking." He noticed he had been leading the dance/conversation the whole time not leaving much room for Endelyn to interrogate. "Sorry for hogging the topics the whole time." He managed a half chuckle.

'Today I'm just destined to ask alllll the wrong questions,' Valerie airily replied with a shrug, a self-deprecating laugh and a smile to match after Mihir apologized. 'Uhm, sooo...' she said after a moment's pause, obviously searching to revitalize the moment, as it had been lively and enjoyable just a short while ago. 'We could, like... dance some more, or get something to drink....' she paused again and flashed a toothy smile, 'Or you could just tell me if there are any other open wounds you'd like me to rub salt in, you know, get that out of the way first.' With a little laugh, she fell silent, her expression hopeful-- she didn't want Mihir to take that the wrong way.

"Well," Mihir said, suddenly rubbing his backside. "I did fall out of bed the other morning, you could poke that bruise if you wanted." He was completely joking, but serious that he had fallen out of his bed. Again. Even after a month, he still wasn't accustomed to the bed he had been given. And it was highly flammable. "I'm not sure about the salt thing. Not sure how that would work." He gave her a smile. "But, yes, drink first, then we can dance some more if you would like."

Endelyn smiled and nodded as she listened to him speak. "I can't cook. I can burn and destroy food, but not cook it. That's why I perfer foods you don't have to cook, like bananas." she said with a smile. When he apologised, she shook her head. "There is no need to apologise. I am a better listener than I am a speaker." she said.

"Well i can treat you to some cooking sometime if you would like, might have to find some good ingredients in town though." Justin offered with a smile. As the music changed he had to readjust to match the beat, slowly pivoting and rocking from foot to foot.

Teena bounced over to the dance floor and hopped on it, hoping to locate Addy's crutches. At least she didn't need to evade the dancers, since the four didn't seem to be moving much at the moment. She spotted one crutch right on the stage since no one had moved it, and went for it. "Excuse me! A-ha," she said after acquiring it. She looked around for the other and remembered that Vlad had kicked it, so she circled the stage and found it on the floor. She picked it up and gave the others a wave as she headed back to X-Men Party Hall.

Valerie smiled with a touch of sheepishness and shook her head-- she thought she was pretty well-deserving of Mihir's gentle mocking, so there was really no other way for her to respond other than to accept it. After her attention was briefly snagged by Teena, who had come to collect Addy's crutches, the blonde jerked her head in the direction of the buffet, setting her sleek ponytail in motion once more. 'To the punch bowl!' she announced, arm raised in the air, apparently not caring about how corny she looked or sounded, before heading to X-Men Party Hall.

"To the punch bowl!" Mihir repeated before Valerie took off. The native laughed and followed after her, waving at Teena as he did so. She was busy picking up blue girl's crutches, so Mihir hurried towards X-Men Party Hall, trying to catch up with Val.

"That sounds like a plan." Endelyn said with a smile. "Maybe you can teach me." she said. She also adjusted her own swaying, and waved to Teena when she came onto the floor, then left just as suddenly. Endelyn noticed that the others left the floor as well. "Ah, we're alone." she said and smiled.

"I would be more than happy to." Justin looked around noticing she was right, they were the only ones left on the floor. "Well what do you know." His eyes moved to her princess outfit then away slightly embarrassed. "Well we could stay and dance some more, or we could go do something else. I'm not quite tired enough to head to my room." He offered.

"Sure." Endelyn said with a smile. "I saw some game tables, would you like to go check them out?" she questioned. She didn't get why he looked away the way he did, but she just shrugged it off. Maybe there was a bug on her shoulder and he didn't like bugs, is mostly what she thought.

Justin reached out taking Endelyn's hand. "Sounds like fun lets see what they have." A smile split his face as he gently lead her off the dance floor towards X-Men Game Tables.

Endelyn felt herself blushing lightly when he took her hand, but she smiled none the less and followed him to X-men Game Tables. She wondered who else was there, and hoped it wasn't too crowded.

As a song was ending on the dance floor, the loud music was cut short and the room's intercom buzzed to life and a quick announcement was made by Jean: "Attention students, in ten minutes, the costume contest will begin. If you are interested in participating, please make your way to the stage near the games now. Three winners will be chosen by the teaching staff and will receive prizes according to their placement, either first, second, or third. If you are not interested in participating, you are also most welcome to watch. Thank you." Once the announcement was over, the loud music began playing once more.

Coming from the game tables, Vlad made quite the entrance, what with Addy coming along for the ride on his shoes, like a little girl with her father. He stopped in the middle of the dance floor and let go of Addy's hand so that she could turn around. "You may as vell stay on my feet," he explained, looking down at her, "seems easier than trying vith that cast." He listened to the song and frowned a bit, realizing that it was a bit more dancey than they needed in order to give Addy the dance she wanted. Concentrating on Jean Grey, he closed his eyes and tried to deliver a telepathic message to her: Jean could ve haff a slow song now? Any von vill do.

Turning carefully, Addy used her tail to keep her balance. She was doubly glad that her feet meant she stood on her toes. It made it easier for her to stay on Vlad's feet while she turned. "That would be easier," she said. She tried to ignore the pain in her leg as she waited fro the music to start.

At Vlad's request, when the upbeat song ended, a slower one started.

"Thanks Jean!" Vlad called out mentally, waving in her direction as the song changed almost instantly. As Addy situated herself on his feet again, facing him this time, the beefy Russian remained still. "All right, are you ready for your incredible first-time-ball-slow-dance experience?" he asked, grinning. "I vorn you," he looked down at her with sudden dramatic flare, "to keep your three fingers, cast, and tail inside the ride at all times." Had he better control over his powers he would have been able to immediately put his arm around her and pull her close for a little comedic effect, however with his lack of finesse he'd probably just flatten her into a furry pancake. Instead, he gently put his hand around her back and pressed until he felt they were both comfortable, and took her free hand in his other. Finding the beat easily, he stepped a little to the side in a slow sort of shuffle that had them rocking a bit back and forth. "Is this right? I confess I haff never slow danced either."

As Light made her way over to the dance floor from the direction of the game tables, dragging Shade behind her, she could faintly hear Camille retort something back to her last comment, and she was barely able to make it out. Was that slut of a woman really insulting her looks? "She has some nerve," the girl growled as she walked over toward the wall, away from Shade as she let her hand slip out of his. Leaning back against the wall, she turned around and face Shade, her arms crossed, and grumbled, "I don't understand what you men see in some hussy like that." Pot calling the kettle black. Light knew she had been that way before. Before Shade. Maybe not as brazen though. But she still couldn't help but despise Camille for the way she was, especially considering she was after Light's man. "Then again, you all tend to think with your dick, don't you?" she questioned, raising her brow at Shade. Light was honestly pissed at Camille, not Shade, but she couldn't help but feel a little bit of anger towards the boy for allowing things with that woman to go on.

Shade couldn't help but have a big grin grow on his face as Light dragged him towards the dance floor. The boy got some sort of pleasure out of getting a usually cool and detached woman like Light worked up and jealous over him, it gave him a degree of control and felt like the girl considered him 'special' so to speak. Still, he didn't want to milk Light's frustration to the point where it became anger against him, specially after their fight. "You can't possibly feel threatened by her." replied Shade, disguising his cocky smile for a second in an attempt to appease his girlfriend. "Cmon, there's no way she can compare to you, love." he said as they reached the dance floor, a slow, romantic song playing at exactly the right time. As Light leaned back against the wall and crossed her arms, the boy looked at her up and down, noting her comment. "Well, even if we do, you know you're all I think about." he grinned as he drew closer, letting his fingertips rest on Light's hip as he brought his other hand to her face, barely brushing her cheek with the back of his index finger. "I mean.. look at you... you don't have to parade around in your underwear or have your boobs hanging out to be the sexiest woman in the joint." whispered the boy as he slid his hand further, placing it on the small of Light's back. His other hand slowly moved down the girl's neck, over her shoulder and down her arm until it reached her hand, intertwining the boy's fingers in hers. "Now c'mon... I thought you wanted to dance.. the music seems just right too." he added, fixing his silvery grey eyes on her emerald greens as he lightly tugged her towards the dance floor.

Addy instinctively leaned closer so she wouldn't fall backwards. He was being careful, that she knew, and she was thankful that she wasn't being squished. With a power like Vlad's, it was hard to judge sometimes. Addy put her hand on his shoulders, smiling up at him. "You seem to be doing fine," she said. Finally, something at this dance was going right. Her tail came up and wrapped around the arm behind her, keeping her steady while Vlad did all the dancing.

Noticing the cocky grin stuck to Shade's face as she leaned up against the wall, Light cocked an eyebrow and raised her glass of punch to her lips to take a sip, one arm still crossed over her abdomen. Making a face when she was reminded that the drink had yet to be spiked, she instead leaned over and placed the cup on the floor, replying to Shade without looking at him, "Threatened? Not at all. I merely want to rip off that pretty little face of hers." As the girl straightened up and focused her gaze back on Shade, she continued, "Obviously, but that doesn't keep her from trying." Maybe Light was a little intimidated by Camille. Just a little. But there was no way, of course, that she would ever say it aloud, even if Shade, or anyone else, knew. Spotting her lover's eyes wandering over her body, Light crossed her arms tighter, blowing a puff of air through her nose as the boy proved her previous words true. "You're full of shit," she replied bitterly to his claim as he approached, unmoving, even as he let his fingers brush against her skin. However, Shade nearly got a small smile out of the young woman, the corner of her lips twitching, when he complimented her and took her hand in his. "You're never going to let me be pissed at you, are you?" she asked before a tiny smile finally broke through and she grasped Shade's hand tightly. "Okay, okay. Let's dance," she agreed, following him out to the dance floor, "But just for this song. You still owe me a drink."

"I reckon if you were pissed at me it'd be hard to kiss you or feel you up." grinned Shade, now exuding the seemingly endless cockiness the boy was known for. "And I very much enjoy doing that." he added, suddenly and painfully reminded that him and Light had not been intimate in quite a while. As Light accepted his invitation to dance and held onto his hand, the boy leaned down for a second, depositing his punch cup next to hers. "I might have to go kick a puppy after saying this just to even shit out but... I'd rather see you happy than seeing everyone else be miserable, and that's quite rare for me." whispered Shade as he pulled her a bit closer, standing back up and stepping into the dance floor at once. Both his hands now free, he placed the hand which had held his punch cup on the small of Light's back, his thumb aligned with the girl's spine and his pinky dangerously close to Light's butt. Applying gentle pressure, he tried to pull her towards him as he drew her further into the dance floor, gently swaying to the music. The boy lifted his other hand up without letting go of Light's and slowly intertwined his fingers with hers. "One song is good enough." grinned the boy again as he began leading the girl in a slow dance, brushing his lips and the tip of his nose against her cheek.

With the considerable difference in their size, Vlad made sure not to hold too tightly, spin too suddenly, or otherwise dislodge his already injured partner. Never mind the fact that every time he spun he had to purposely ignore the red scales that he could always see, no matter how far away. Damn woman. His dance was more of a gentle swaying back and forth as he tracked a lazy circle along the dance floor, his feet moving precisely with more finesse than one would think him capable of. Looking down at Addy as she assured him that he wasn't goofing up her special moment, he grinned lopesidedly and nodded once. "I'll just keep up the good vork, then," he replied. He stopped moving and secured his arm around her back with just a touch more force and then leaned forward to dip her backwards, fitting his hand over the three-fingered one on his shoulder so she didn't topple over backwards. Just as smoothly, he brought her back to standing and continued the effortless circle, moving her feet with his.

The fact that Addy's legs made very good shock absorbers made it easier for Addy to keep mostly still and not fall. When Vlad dipped her, a laugh of enjoyment bubbled up from her and her earlier bad mood was temporarily forgotten. Knowing that he wouldn't let her fall, Addy just went with it until he brought her back up. Her smile was huge, and her face lit up in happiness for that moment in time.

Vlad maintained a very serious expression as he danced, one that was clearly intended to be over-the-top and funny to wring more laughter from Addy. With as much suddenness as he was willing to risk, he turned them around and bent lower, pushing his cheek to her fluffy blue one and extending their arms out to the side in the perfect modification of the stereotypical tango stance. "You von't get paint on you, I promise," he said, all while keeping his ridiculously serious expression, made even more humorous by the way his bum stuck out a bit to accommodate her height. He took three steps forward and then one to the side, showcasing a rudimentary understanding of the dance. "Now if only you had a rose, this vood be perfect!" he said, his strong jaw bone moving against her cheeks as he went for another round of silly tango.

"At least you admit it," Light replied to Shade's initial comment about the issue of her anger, a small grin still tugging at her lips when she added, "Though I can't say I don't enjoy it, myself." However, as Shade continued to speak, the smile slowly faded from her expression and she looked at her lover quietly, almost curiously, following obediently along as he led them out to the middle of the dance floor. She could see Vlad and Addy attempting some silly rendition of a dance, but she only offered them a short glance before she locked her eyes on Shade's. She wasn't exactly sure how to reply to his previous statement, his words having taken her by surprise; she had never expected him to admit that, that he genuinely wanted her to be happy. Light let her lover hold her closer, intertwining their fingers together as he began moving to the music, brushing his face against hers and making her close her eyes as she placed her hand gently on his shoulder moved along with him. "I wasn't aware you could dance," she said quietly, avoiding a response for now, at least until she could come up with something. Leaning her face in to the soft caresses of her lover's lips and the tip of his nose, Light slowly pushed her hand further up the boy's shoulder, lightly brushing her fingertips against the bare skin of his neck. "... I might be willing to stay for more than one. Maybe," she finally said after a few minutes of silent, slow dancing to the music. "I mean, if you want to..." she continued, almost stumbling over her words, before taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly, and quietly, she added, "I'm enjoying this."

"Well I've always been a beacon of honesty with you." said Shade with a mischievous grin, making it seem as if he was being sarcastic even though the statement was rather close to the truth. In reality, Shade didn't lie much, it was a side effect of not giving a shit what most people thought or felt. "I've picked up many an unlikely skill during my travels, my love." replied the young man, whispering it into the girl's ear as the skin of their cheeks brushed against each other. When Light suggested dancing for more than one song, his eyebrows lifted in surprise for a second, but then his expression relaxed once more and his smile returned. "We can dance the night away if you wish, gorgeous." he added, holding her a bit closer and turning as he swayed with the girl. "I must say I prefer this kind of dance to the mindless crotch grinding you see in clubs, too." he added, lowering his hand only an inch and pulling the small of the girl's back towards him. "This is much more... subtle." he added in a whisper with an even bigger grin as he pushed one of his feet forward, making Light's left leg go back and the upper part of his right pants leg graze the side of the girl's right thigh. With that small, tiny bit if intimate touch distracting her the boy leaned forward trying to make Light lose her balance but holding her up with his arms, and stole a small kiss before letting her regain her balance.

Addy tried not to laugh at Vlad's serious expression, but only managed it for a moment before a snort of laughter left her. She tried to stand up straighter so he wasn't so oddly balanced, but her legs would only give her another inch or so. Another laugh escaped her as he mention paint and roses, and she bit her lip to try to keep herself from laughing again. It was a useless endeavor. She let Vlad lead her around the floor, a smile plastered on her face.

"As I'm sure you're being now," Light replied with a grin to Shade's comment about honesty, not so much pretending to fall for the false sarcasm he was presenting as she wanted him to believe she was. As conniving as the boy was, sometimes she found it hard to believe every word he said, though she hoped, and mostly believed, that the sweet things he had said to her tonight were true. "I see. I think the only thing I've learned is how to give a good blowjob and that men are assholes," she joked, trying her best to hide a tiny smile with a cocky grin and failing miserably as Shade pulled her closer, his breath tickling her ear. "I agree," she whispered back in response to his statement about his liking of their slow dancing, and before she had time to add anything else, she felt her foot slide backwards, and after a distracting soft touch against her upper thigh, she suddenly lost her balance. Letting out a small gasp, Light gripped Shade's hand tightly and held tightly to his shoulder, her eyes going wide just before his kiss calmed her, her eyes closing and her heart racing from the small and sudden scare. Melting into the short kiss, Light relaxed under her lover's grip and stood up straight once more when he allowed her to, going back into their same dancing pose. "As far as dancing all night goes, yes, I'd love to," she began to speak again, pretending nothing had happened. "But I'm afraid most of that dancing," she continued as she tilted her head just enough so that she could place a slow, soft kiss on Shade just beneath his ear, "will possibly involve no clothes and some 'mindless crotch-grinding'." Letting her lips brush lightly against the boy's earlobe, Light took a step forward, letting her own leg peek out from beneath her dress and brush up against Shade's inner thigh, just below his crotch. "Hope you don't mind," she concluded, whispering into his ear as she attempted to one-up his previous gesture, something the couple had been known to do since the day they'd met.

After a moment, Vlad stood up straight and paused, looking up as if trying to recall something. He continued to hold Addy as gently as he could, since she was already broken he wasn't going to take any chances, and her tininess wasn't something he was entirely used to. "Sorry Addy, I'm trying to remember this formal dance step I learned a few years ago," he explained as reason for his pause. Looking down at his feet didn't help much this time, considering there was a 15-year-old blue furry mutant on them, but he concentrated nevertheless and took one step forward, then another, a step to the side and then spun. "It's something like that," he offered with a grin. "So, are you going to enter the contest?" he asked, forfeiting the dance step he couldn't remember all of and opting to just hold her near and wander in a circle the way most 'slow dances' were danced to.

"You temptress." grinned Shade as the girl began to tease him with promises of sex, it had been quite a while, after all. "With all the interruptions earlier, you know I'd be willing to take you up for that... crotch grinding... as soon as possible." he added as the girl's skin touched Shade's pants leg, just under his crotch, Light's skin and body felt warm and pleasant even through the fabric. Shade grinned a bit wider and wrapped his arms around the girl, bringing her a bit closer and pulling her against his body. Slowly swaying and turning to the music, as he placed a few tiny kisses on her neck and nibbled her skin lightly, right beneath her ear. "You're making it hard to wait until after the costume competition, my little black widow." he added right before he blew some cold air into the girl's ear, holding her as they danced in stark contrast to Vlad and Addy.

"I was going to," Addy replied. She had seriously thought about it, but now that she knew everyone else's costumes, Addy felt that she didn't stand a chance. "Everyone else is so much more dressed up, though. And I don't look at all like my costume is supposed to look because of the crutches." She gave a half shrug. From the corner of her eye, Addy spotted Shade and Light's display on the other side of the dance floor. They disappeared again as Vlad steered them away, and she tried her best to forget what she had seen. It wasn't helpful at all to her current mood.

Furrowing his brows at his small, blue partner's gloomy response, Vlad shook his head. "Bah, who cares about your crutches? Just get up on stage and haff fun, who giffs a shit if you vin?" he asked, whisking them in another circle so that Light and Shade were now in plain sight over the top of the Bond Girl's head. Though he knew full well that he had no reason to be, the sight of those two, possibly the most dysfunctional people in the mansion as snug as two beans in a burrito, made the Russian grimace a bit in jealousy. With Addy's hand in his, he turned again and led them both a bit further away, so that neither of them had to see the necking duo. "So," he said, looking down at the girl on his feet, "are you haffing a nice time now? Because Vlad 'the Party Machine' Shostakovich vill not rest if you are unsatisfied," he said in a cheesy radio journalist voice, looking down with mock seriousness as their dance continued to lazily and smoothly whisk them around the floor.

"I'm glad you're okay with my plans, then," Light whispered into Shade's ear, letting her lips lightly brush against his skin as she spoke, pushing her leg a bit more forward when he pulled her closer so that her pelvis was pressing firmly against Shade's. The girl closed her eyes and slowly began moving her hand from its place on Shade's neck down across his shoulder and onto his chest, slipping it inside his jacket and resting it on top of his shirt. "Trust me, I'm not thrilled about the wait, either," she explained as she let her fingers trail slowly down her lover's torso and moved her lips across his jaw, placing tiny kisses in a path toward his lips. "But once we see this little plan of Korvka's in action," she started to say just before she placed a long, soft kiss on Shade's lips, her fingers moving even further down until they reached the waist of his pants, at which point she slipped her index and middle finger beneath the fabric. "We can leave and go have our fun," she added as she pulled away from the kiss, before she leaned in once more for another long kiss, this time tugging on his bottom lip as she pulled away. Finally, opening her eyes to look lazily into Shade's, she concluded, "For as long as you'd like."

Shade was enjoying the closeness of the slow dancing, warmth and the small tingle of electricity flowing from his girl friend and into him as he perceived the scent of her perfume. When she started to kiss him and he felt her hand on his chest, and her velvet lips gently brushing against the skin of his jaw, the boy couldn't help but close his eyes and learn a bit forward into her, swaying to the music and missing the strange looks they had gotten from Vlad and Addy. Shade was about to reply to the girl, when she suddenly pushed her lips against his, he pushed back, savoring her lips and trying to follow after her once she pulled back. "We're not getting out of that room for a few weeks, then." he added as he looked at her lazily too, peering into Light's emerald eyes and almost letting out an involuntary sigh. Noticing the girl was annoyingly in control of the situation and that Vlad and Addy seemed to be having fun with their goofiness, the boy grinned mischievously, as if giving Light a tiny heads up before he grabbed onto the small of her back and leaned forward, dipping her quickly and suddenly as far down as he could. While he held the girl up, he slipped a hand under the leg her dress left exposed, holding onto the back of her thigh, inches away from the girl's butt and tickling it lightly with the tips of his fingers before he slid his fingers a bit downwards, towards the back of her knee. Holding her leg and the small of her back up, the boy held Light in that extreme tango position for a second, grinning wildly before he placed a small kiss on her collarbone and pulling her up, once more, without warning.

Addy smiled as they moved in the slow dancing form. "The night could get better, but I doubt it will happen that way. I'm perfectly content right now." She gave Vlad a smile and a nod, laughing at his attempt at a cheesy voice. She could only catch a few glimpses of Shade and Light, and tried to ignore them as much as she could.

As the song ended, Vlad made sure to get in one last dip, since it seemed to have brought her such amusement the first time. He held her little paw against his chest and leaned forward, his other arm cradling in the small of her back to keep her from knocking off backwards. "Goot," he said with a warm smile upon hearing that she was content. He wasn't going to think about how he could have been more content, or about how he was trying to focus on helping her have a good time to distract from his own melancholic feelings. Instead, he righted them both and then released one of her hands with a long sigh of satisfaction that indicated that the dance was over. "I'll bet that costume contest is going to start any minute. Let's go over and see," he said, his feet planted so that she could first dismount his large shoes.

Addy gave one last giggle as she was dipped, laughing as he he brought her back up. When the song ended, she gave him a smile and nodded, glancing back at the stage across the room. "Probably. We should head over." She put her good leg down on the ground first, trying to maintain her balance as she pulled her casted leg down as well.

"I won't mind that a bit," Light replied to Shade while she slowly snaked her hand back up to its former spot on the boy's shoulder. "Besides, I'm sure that will only begin to make up for the past few weeks," the girl added, beginning to lean in for another kiss. However, the sudden change in Shade's expression caught her eye, and she raised an eyebrow, questioning the reasoning behind his mischievous grin. His reply, as she should have expected, was not with words, and the girl let out a gasp and instinctively wrapped both her arms around Shade's neck as he dipped her once more, this time at a more extreme angle. Feeling the boy's fingertips running along the back of her leg, Light let her head fall back and her eyes close as a shiver ran up her spine. "The more of these stunts you pull, Shade," she began to say, running her hands through the boy's hair now while Shade's arms held her up. Letting out a sigh when her lover's lips brushed over her collar bone, Light continued, "The less I really care to stay here for this stupid contest." When Shade pulled her up again, Light let her arms hang loosely over the boy's shoulders and she looked up at him, the slow song they were dancing to finally ending. Glancing over toward the game tables, she noticed everyone moving in the direction of the stage and sighed. "I was going to suggest we skip out before it started, but... might as well go now. But we're leaving as soon as it's over." With a tiny smirk, Light looked up at her lover from the corner of her eye, then without another word, removed her arms from around his neck and began making her way over to X-Men Game Tables.

As if mesmerized, following some invisible trail, the boy felt himself drawn to Light over and over again, it was like a cartoon character catching the scent of a pie cooling in the window and wafting over to it drawn by some unseen force. As the girl pulled away to head towards the table area, the sweet scent of her perfume lingered for a second, making Shade close his eyes and enjoy it while the soft warmth of her skin began to fade. "Now.. you know what would make it make it more interesting?" he began to say as he followed his lover to the X-Men Game Tables.

Korvka walked in from the party hall, looking around to make sure that no one was looking and satisfied to see that this part of the party was mostly deserted. Addy and Vlad caught her eye but she proceeded casually, as if she weren't up to anything. She waded into the pumpkin patch easily, stepping around the vines and pushing apart the large leaves with her legs as she found the bag. Grabbing the black Adidas bag from the middle of the patch, Korvka pulled it up and then stepped her way back out of the patch. With her payload on her shoulder, the pirate lass swished nonchalantly towards the side of the stage where the contest was to take place, keeping to the perimeter so that she wouldn't be spotted by anyone with curiosity as to why she was lurking somewhere so clearly uninhabited by humans. Once she came to the back of the wall, Korvka dropped the bag and unzipped it, revealing the many balloons filled to bursting with water and pumpkin goo. Kneeling, she carefully removed the balloons from the bag and then shoved the it under the stage to keep it out of the way. Tucking herself into the shadows and remaining perfectly silent, Korvka held out her hand and began to grow a vine that wrapped around the tied-off tails of the balloons, holding tightly and then carrying onto the others until soon, all the balloons were secured to the vine, mostly in clusters so that whoever was beneath would be pelted with at least five. Now, she waited, leaning against the wall and listening for any sign that the contest was about to begin.

Vlad looked down to Addy as Korvka walked in, effectively missing her entirely as Addy planted herself gingerly on the ground. "All right, let's go," he said with a kind smile, walking into X-Men Game Tables.

Addy half hung onto Vlad's arm as she limped back in the direction they had originally came from.

Once again, the music coming from the dance floor was interrupted and Jean's voice projected over the speakers, "Okay, students, the costume contest is about to begin. If you plan on joining, please make your way to the stage and sign your name. Everyone will be allowed one vote, and we will call everyone up to the stage when the votes have been tallied to announce the winners. Just write on paper the name of the person, or the costume if you are not familiar with the person's name, whose costume you think is best. You have ten minutes." As Jean's voice disappeared, the music returned once more. Then, without warning, several blank pieces of paper and pencils began appearing at each of the tables where the students sat, leaving behind a trail of blue smoke, obviously Nightcrawler's doing.

Watching from her hiding space, Korvka watched the goings-on of the games tables area, specifically those approaching the stage. Her shrewd brown eyes pinpointed each of her targets, holding onto them for stretched moments before moving onto the next. Tucked in the darkness, she was surprised to see that Light's eyes caught hers, indicating that she was clearly not hidden well enough if the Bride of Frankenstein was able to spot her without issue. Scooting closer to the side of the stage to hopefully conceal herself better, Korvka's eyes locked onto Vlad. There he was, arm-in-arm with his favorite girls. Despite her general appreciation for Valerie, it didn't help the twisting feeling of jealousy in the Russian's gut to know that her casual friend had an easier way of spending time with Vlad than she did. As she watched she allowed her brooding thoughts to the forefront, examining them in the solitude of anticipatory mischief. Why wasn't it obvious that she needed her big brother? Her father had dropped a lifelong secret on top of her head no more than a month ago and he hadn't done anything to try and make her feel better, or explain why he'd kept the facts from her as well. It wasn't as if pushing him away was new behavior - she always hid within herself when her feelings were hurt, or she was feeling overwhelmed, and never had that stopped him from barging into her room and figuratively poking the bear until the hurt came spilling out. Narrowing her eyes like a predator in the night, Korvka watched as Vlad, Valerie, Shana, and Daniela climbed to the stage, joining Justin, Endelyn, and Light. Of course, Vlad had distractions now. Pretty distractions that were more fun and optimistic and better to be around for someone like him. It was no wonder, really. Steeled, Korvka lay her hand flat against the side of the stage to scale her vine up the expanse. As silently as could be, the vine climbed, taking the clusters of balloons with it up and up and up until it reached the scaffolding for the lights. Looking up so that she could navigate, Korvka slithered her vine along the chrome pipes, trying to align the clusters of balloons over the people she wanted to peg most: Vlad, Daniela and Shana; and then also hovered a few over Justin and Endelyn, simply for being there. With a deep breath, she concentrated on loosening the grip of the vine around the payloads to drop the clusters of balloons all at once over the intended targets.

The balloons fell and hit Vlad, Daniela, Shana, Camille and Justin, splashing some on Light, Endelyn, and Valerie.

As soon as the balloons hit, Korvka busily sucked the vine back with all haste, making sure to track along the route it had originally taken to avoid snapping off bits and pieces that would fall and give her away. Falling plant debris? Yeah. That had Korvka's name written all over it. Once the vine was back into her palm, the Russian calmly walked away from the side of the stage, fairly confident that all eyes were on the mess on stage and not on the unassuming girl walking away from the sidelines. Eager to see her handiwork, Korvka walked to X-Men Party Hall to retrieve Flame so that they could both enjoy the outcome.

From here, you can move on to either X-Men Party Hall or X-Men Game Tables.

2011-07-29 [XxTsomexX]: Sorry, I was up in Maine :)

2011-08-01 [Figgy]: ....? :>

2011-08-01 [XxTsomexX]: It's just Justin, Endelyn, and Mihir left in here right? I feel like I have to keep waiting for someone else to post XD

2011-08-02 [XxTsomexX]: XD Aww, Endelyn just scared everyone :P

2011-10-09 [Duredhel]: Vlad's turn? :>

2011-10-14 [Figgy]: Roma post?

2011-10-31 [Flisky]: Roma...why you no post for Vlad???

2011-12-01 [Figgy]: Anytime now, Roms. Time to get this shit over with >>

2011-12-01 [Roma]: Uh... I already posted. It states clearly who the intended targets are. I've been waiting for a GM post to see who all got hit.

2011-12-05 [XxTsomexX]: ??

2011-12-05 [Duredhel]: What's wrong Tsome?

2011-12-05 [XxTsomexX]: ... I don't even know actually :P I kind of posted that on the wrong page. It was meant to be at the game tables lol
