The War Effort

Notice

The War Effort will be the name of a mini-game that will happen through your role-playing in End of Days. At the "End of Days", the final day of the RP, the War Effort will indicate what resources are available for your side and how the final battle goes. The War Effort mini-game is played through special missions, as detailed in the rules;

Equipment

Equipment represents the gear and weapons each side has access to, each character has an item section detailing some useful gear, but that gear can be used or spent. Each shots fired and knives thrown cannot be recovered, weapons and armor might break, bandages can get used up. In order to restock equipment, a character has to either buy it with their own money, or request more from their team leaders. Team leaders have to manage the Equipment available for their teammates or they might find themselves with no gear for important missions later on. The equipment available for each team is stored in their respective armories, EoD Armory and EoD MLA Armory.

Resources

Resources are things that benefit the faction overall rather than one particular character. A working vehicle, a power generator, medicine, supplies, gasoline, etc. Some resources may be spent to make missions easier and gain an edge over the other side, some may simply provide advantages in the RP. For example, an X-men Character that somehow gets MLA secret codes may enter the sprawl a few times and use that to his faction's advantage. An MLA character might find a way to intercept supplies heading for Xavier's mansion and take them for their team. The resources of each team can be seen in their respective command centers, the EoD War Room or the EoD MLA Command Tent.

Because of this dynamic, remember that your character cannot have, get or find anything that is not GM sanctioned. So please don't make them find or obtain any random stuff, at all, without running it by the GM.

Relationships

No man, or army, is an island, doing certain missions in certain ways, or simpy the way the members of a team behave might earn them points with many of the factions in the wastes. The factions may, in turn, provide resources, gear or even NPCs to help out the players of the side they like. If the situation with one particular faction turns really sour, a side might find themselves fighting a war in two fronts. Whereas the use of Gear and Resources are determined by the leaders of the factions (with input from other players, obviously), relationships can be affected by any player in any given side. The bonuses a relationship can give a side are listed under resources.

Missions

All of this, of course, is geared towards missions. Missions are special RPing events that can be undertaken by teams of 2-3 characters. Pages in EoD can be divided in Mission Pages and Non-Mission Pages. Non-mission pages are located in the bases of each side of the RP. Players might traverse Non-mission pages freely and control any non-named NPCs within them. In Mission pages, players need GM reactions to most things and all NPCs are Gm controlled. Missions are posted twice per in-game day and a character may participate in up to two missions per day (a morning and an afternoon mission).

If a mission cannot be taken one day it may be taken the next, but they may expire after some time. Missions have several rewards, gear for characters or for the factions, money, NPCs to help out, information about the game or even RPing awesomeness. Taking on many missions is vital to be ready for the end-game, but be careful, mission are dangerous and characters might get killed. If the two sides also end up sending teams to the same place on the same or different missions, it might end up in confrontation, or at least interaction. Missions will not always be about fighting, though, many will be about roleplaying.

Missions can be received in one of three ways, you can suggest one to the GM, missions from other factions will automatically appear every day at the command center, or speaking to named-npc might open up some missions for your faction.

The mission available for each team will be displayed in their command center, the EoD War Room or the EoD MLA Command Tent. Once the team for a mission has been decided, either faction leader can ask the GM to set up the mission area.

A note on metagaming.

Don't metagame.

No, seriously, we're trying to make something cool here, please keep this in mind. Be very careful with what your character could know and what he/she couldn't

2012-12-05 [Duredhel]: Missions for the first day are up! The first "round" will start next week :> That means you have till then to decide which missions your group will undertake. Because of your numbers, each faction can only get two missions going.
