X-Men: Adrianne and Endelyn

The window is covered with a deep red curtain, though it is pulled open. The color is prevalent in the room, from the red carpet to the red comforter on one of the two beds. Even the laptop sitting on the desk is red. A small plant sits in the window and books are lined on a shelf. A journal is on the desk, a pen on the cover. It almost seems as if this room was decorated without using the color blue at all, which it was.

On the other side of the room, it was a lovely sight. The wood used for the desk, bed, and shelves were all a dark oak. The rug looked as though it was freshly cut grass. The bed itself was a lime green color, and the ceiling was painted like a night sky. The walls needed a little touching up however, since it's occupier wanted to paint trees on the wall. All in good time, it would become so.

Saturday, November 19th

Endelyn was long since asleep when Adrianne returned to their room. She landed in the center of the floor, seating herself gracelessly on the carpet. Her head landed in her arms as she basically folded herself against the floor, not even thinking about getting into the bed. Today had been so eventful and tiring, all she wanted to do was curl up. But nowhere was safe. Nothing was safe.

Stirring when she heard the still broken door do it's creaking, Endelyn let out a small groan and sat up, long hair a complete mess from tossing and turning. It had been a long day for her as well. She looked around in a daze before she noticed Addy's form on the floor. Blinking to clear her vision, Ende turned on the light and squinted slightly. "Hey... there you are..." she yawned.

Addy looked up and frowned at Endelyn. "I'm sorry, I did not mean to wake you," she said, her voice breaking slightly. Standing shakily, she moved over to her roommate's bed and sat down, not certain if she would be welcome there. "I...don't know what I'm doing anymore."

Endelyn heard the shakiness in her friend's voice and her face grew into a small frown, full of concern. She scooted over slightly to give Addy some room on the bed. "What's wrong?" she asked softly, now fully awake and all ears.

Pulling up her feet so she could hug her knees and face Endelyn, Addy tilted her head on her knees, hair falling into her face as she did. It was strange, after so long of having it matted back, now it was long and falling into her eyes. "I feel lost. It's been three years, but...no one else knows it."

The whole thing seemed odd to Endelyn, but she was trying her hardest to understand. "I do believe something happened, though it confuses me." She said. "I can believe it's been a long time for you. You've aged, that much is certain." She said. "Your power, it has to do with teleporting. You got stuck inbetween. I've never been in a situation like that, so its hard for me to relate. It must've been horrid though." She stopped a moment and cleared her throat. "Sorry.. my rambling probably is not helping..."

"You aren't going to be like Light and attack me?" Addy asked, clearly joking. She looked over at Endelyn, nose wrinkling in distress. "They don't trust me. I'm surprised you do." But then, her roommate trusted what her mind and heart told her, not what her eyes did. She would see through all the scars and aging to what really was there.

Endelyn's expression tightened a bit at the mention of Light. "Of course not. I am not what you would call a hot head." She said with a little disdain. "I do not like her. She also sent her electricity at me when I was trying to help you, something I do not appreciate." She said. "Of course I trust you. You're still Addy, despite everything you've been through."

"I...I was so scared this was all a dream," Addy said, loosening her grip on her legs so she could stretch out a little next to Endelyn. She woul probably wind up sleeping here or on the floor, as the big bed across the room looked cold and uninviting. "I had a lot of those. Mostly during the first year, when I was sick all the time. Some of the creatures were toxic, and if you get bit or eat them, you start developing a fever. I learned right quick which ones they were, but before that, I didn't know. The fever would lead to pretty vivid hallucinations."

"That sounds harsh." Endelyn commented with a soft frown. She didn't mind if Addy shared a bed with her, since Endelyn considered Addy to be her best friend. "Do not trouble. This is no dream. Or a hallucination." She said with more of a smile.

"I'm glad," Addy said as she lay down on the bed. She curled up next to Endelyn, ready to sleep, but not wanting to move. "Can I...stay here for the night?" It was a hesitant question, and Addy sounded a little scared. Almost like the innocent she had been before disappearing.

Endelyn looked down at her roommate and smiled warmly. "Of course you can, I do not mind." She said and moved one of her pillows so Addy could use it if she wished to. Now that she was awake herself, going back to sleep was not going to be a good option. So instead she picked up a book off her nightstand. Lord of the Rings, the trilogy. She had found the large book while she was scavenging through the library, and it had piqued her interest.

Addy scooted further up on the bed, her head resting on the pillow as she watched Endelyn. The book drew her attention and Addy looked at it. She had forgotten books. She had forgotten everything. The smallest of sounds left her as she sat up a bit to read over the other girl's shoulder a little bit.

Endelyn looked over at Addy after reading about a paragraph or so to herself. "Would you like to read it outpouring? Or would you like me to?" She asked.

"Would you?" Addy asked, glancing at Endelyn. "I haven't read in years. I don't know if my eyes really remember how." It was information that was never lost but could be forgotten, and Addy had forgotten a lot.

Endelyn gave a soft smile and flopped to the beginning of the book. "Chapter one, a long expected party. When Mr. Bilbo Baggins of Bag End announced...." she started and continued to read out loud. It reminded her of times where she would read to her younger brother by candlelight.

A small smile formed on Addy's lips as she settled back and listened to Endelyn read. It was calming, as the girl had a smooth reading voice with a nice cadence. She found herself curling up next to Endelyn, comfortable for the first time in three years.

Endelyn read the first chapter whimsically, fully enjoying herself and having a grand old time. This was a lot better than Justin's video games, that was for sure.

Addy proved to be an attentive audience. She hadn't ever read Lord of the Rings, and hadn't seen the movies, so had no idea where the story was going. But she instantly like the characters as they reminded her so much of the students she remembered from the mansion.

Endelyn continued to lead her friend through the colorful story of hobbits, wizards, elves, and the quest for the ring. Before she even realised it, she was beginning chapter 4, and the hour grew late.

By this point, Addy was in a deep sleep. The lines on her face had smoothed and her tightly wound muscles relaxed enough to give her a much more natural posture as she lay there.

Endelyn smiled softly as she checked on Addy to see if she was awake. Very slowly and carefully, Endelyn gently covered the blue furred mutant with a blanket.

Addy actually moved closer to the source of heat next to her. It was unconscious, but equally adorable as she snuggled deeper into the blankets.

Endelyn bit her lip lightly to stop an awwwww from coming out. The girl put the book on her other side and got more settled in, just glad to see that Addy herself was finally getting some well earned sleep.

She was dreaming of hobbits and parties, presents and food. Addy was peaceful for a time, twitching occasionally, much as a small animal would in its sleep.

After a while of just watching her, Endelyn's eyes slowly drifted shut, falling into a deep and dreamless sleep.

Hours passed before anything happened. It was a split second of panic, Addy woke up, not sure of where she was, and pushed away, landing on the floor, completely silent except for the small thud. She searched for her weapon and, not finding it, took a moment to try to figure out where she was. It took a moment for her to realize that she was on her own floor, in her bedroom, at her home. Addy pushed up from the floor and leaned on the bet, both forearms resting on the mattress, and watched Endelyn sleep.
