So my vacation went to Zambia..

It's a beautiful..not yet discovered by the intire world, country..
Here will be my journal of the vacation and I'll put some or every single picture..:S

Our journey starts at Kariba lake..

The black line you see is the Great Zambezi River( the second biggest river In africa(after the Nile I believe)) We canoed on it..
You can see Zimbabwe on the other end of the lake...Here I saw my first crocodile..Me and my sister([Aine.])were just walking around when I heard a sound..I was standing a meter away from a 1,5 meter crocodile..Me and my sister thought it was better to run;) smart huh??!!:P

Of course..I wouldn't be Evelien if I didn't lock myself in, this time it was the bathroom, I closed the door and was trapped there for half an hour..aw well I survived, you couldn't say that about the door..:S

We saw our first hippo's and my dad and I did a 2 hour walk, around a "island"..we thought it couldn't be that long..but it was...:S
Our journey got an adventures change to it, we went on the Zambezi River and canoed for 2/2.5 days..

When you look closily you see 2 boats(my sister,my mum and the guide)..You can see how big the river is...the circles in the water could turn into rapids very quickly, you had to stay out of those..We didn't collaps once!!^^:D

This was on the 2nd day...I got a little more experienced..I even got some strength in my arms...The river was tough sometimes..We saw all kind of beautiful animals and thing those 2 days..The African Fish Eagle,he looks like an American eagle, very beautiful. We saw a lot of baboons and we even saw our first Elephants. When we stopped for the night we had to help putting up the tent and making a little kitchen...our guide, Martin started cooking and we had to eat in the dark. At 6 it was totally dark..We saw some beautiful sundowners and sunrises!


Me at 6:41..It was cold in the mornings...You can see that I'm very awake and happy don't you..*AHUM!!*I was enormously tired that night and didn't want to get in the boat..I did eventually..

This my dad with his telescope..We all love this picture, the only problem is that it isn't sharp when you enlarg it(the original;))..
