Zellorah Kingdom History 2

"I shall seek a way of learning for this, I like learning new things" Yuki said happily as she sat by the blossoming tree, "Water is life and life is everywhere" she said.

Araglas nodded and looked at the sky, "I think I should head to find an inn, I am to meet someone there, I have had a very pleasent time with you Yuki." He rose from the ground, and slung his pack onto his shoulder and picked up his staff, he gave a bow to Yuki, "I hope we meet again soon, and I mean no disrespect to you, your company has been very nice." with a flash of a smile, Araglas bowed again and walked back down the road they came, where he found an Inn. He entered into the Inn smiling at the thought of having a bed to sleep in. After speaking with the Innkeeper he rented a nice room on the first floor with a view of the castle. He set his sack on a table in the room and went about filling theroom with items from the sack. He put the bottles of different colored liquids on a shelf beside the door, and ll the crystals on the bedside table. His books he left on the table and he leaned his staff against the door. To occupy his time till Evosias got there he opened a large red book from his bag and started to read it.

Having arranged the city's security appropriately for a minor absense of his presence, Evosias spent some time as a vase of flowers on the counter to the inn. The picturesque object stealthily morphed in a viscous liquid resembling bloody mercury. In this form, Evosias oozed his way quickly to Araglas' door and morphed into his usual self before gently wrapping on the door.

Araglas moved to his door and stopped short, placing a hand on the handle he spoke through the door, "May I ask who is at my door?" in his other hand he held a small vile filled with a liquid that would freeze the instant it met the air.

Evosias giggled softly, stifling a tacky reply of "Certainly." He replied instead with a warm, "Evosias Nollux, sorry to disturb, would you like me to come around later? Let you settle in and rest your legs?"

Araglas felt a smile form on his face as he slipped the vile into his pocket and opened the door, "No, that won't be neccisary, I do apologise, please come in." he moved back and opened the door wider for Evosias.

"Thank you," Evosias replied cordially, stepping across the threshold and stood out of the way of the door. "You had mentioned some interesting observations about Zellorah's neighbor. I was wondering if you'd like to chat a bit, say over a cup of coffee?"

Araglas nodded, "Of course, that sounds wonderful." He smiled and ruffled his blond hair.

Evosias noted Araglas' handsome shock of blond hair and changed the colour of his own at will to match. "Mmm, perhaps the coffee can wait a while, I'm sure you've been on your feet far too long..." he replied, pausing for Araglas' next move.

Araglas shook his head, "Nonsense! Coffee sounds extremely wonderful at the moment." A small splash of pink rose to his face as he saw Evosias had changed his hair color, "Do you know where we could get some? I regret that I used the last of mine, two moons ago."

"Fret not, I know this city like the back of my hand," Evosias replied nonchalantly, briefly considering molding a model out of that appendage. "Not far from here, couple minute's walk, is that agreeable?"

Araglas nooded enthusiastically, "That sounds very agreeable! Coffee would do me wonders righ now." He smiled and moved tothebed in the room and pulled his ccloak back on, though he left his staff propped against the wall. He turnedback to Evosias when he was finished putting the cloak on and smiled, "I'm ready." he said with a smile.

"Grand," Evosias replied, striding to open the entry door for Araglas. "So tell me, because my perception does not allow me this particular understanding, why is it that you cloak yourself so?" he asked, his own attire being both exotic and quite simple.

Araglas smiled, "This cloak was a gift from an old friend, it has cetain...properties that I have grown use to." he chuckled softly, "It is one of my only vices in this world." He smiled at Evosias and followed him to the door of the room.

"Well aren't you full of curiosities," Evosias replied, studying the cloak. He waited in the hall for Araglas to follow and secure the door. "Are the properties of sentimental value? Or of supernatural value?"

Aralgas closed the door behind them and waved his hand slowly over the door handle, "Haer byli var sor saeryr sar mael ti cas os saes, tae si sharaes os jhori eir ti." The door knob turned an icy blue and remained that color. Turning around Araglas smiled, "The answer to that question is both." he said happily.

Evosias shivered, sensing the subtle icy aftershocks of that particular spell, "Are both also secrets too great in importance or privacy to be share to sate one's curiosity?" Evosias asked with adorable eyes, chuckling. "Come...lets get that coffee," he said, beginning to walk down the corridor slowly.

Araglas found the eyes a little hard to deny, "Of course I can tell you!" he smiled and ruffled his hair again. He followed Evosias down the hall, "It has a number of magical qualities, but the first and for most, no matter what the weather, I am always comfortable."

A grin broke across the Draconian's face, "Now that above all for an article of clothing is principle to its purpose; universal comfort in any environment. Fortunately for me, however, I need not bother myself with a wardrobe," Evosias said, grinning coyly as they approached the lobby.

Araglas blushed but continued speaking, "The second magical tendancy of this cloak is that I can make myself invisible to others, and another is that it sheilds me from all magical attacks."

"The ultimate in shielding I must say..." Evosias replied in mindspeech; his form having altered into a small metallic insect that was now buzzing wide elipses around Araglas' head. He made his landing on Araglas' shoulder, shifting into a ruby and ebony lizard. "Its an impressive object, its magics are woven just as well as its handsome cloth."

Araglas smiled, "Yes, but it has three other distinct functions. The first is, that while I am wearing it, I cannot be harmed by any metal. No matter how strong it is, or sharp." Hewas interested in Evosias's transformations, it was pleasent to be around another holder of the gift.

"Ah...so I get the distinct impression you all but sleep and bathe in this cloak, don't you?" Evosias mused, shifting instead into a songbird sized dragon, taking flight again and followed Araglas. "Take a right as you walk out onto the street..."

Araglas turned right and shook his head, "No actually I don't when I feel comfortable I take it off, but I am in a strange place, so I feel comfortable with it on. The second ability is, if I give it to you to wear, all the abilities work for you, if you take it from me, they will not." he looked up into the sky and smiled at Evosias.

"Is there a contract with that exchange?" Evosias mused again. "Ah I apologise, what a miraculous article it is...worth fortunes; many kings would love to have that sort of protection. Wear it well," Evosias replied, landing and morphed only his size, becoming a dragon the size of a Shire stallion. "For protection," Evosias explained, grinning to himself as he watched the crowds on the street part.

Araglas smiled again, it was easy to do around Evosias, "Actually no, I must care about you in order for you to wear it. If I don't and you take it, it will be nothing but a regular cloak. There is a catch, that is the last weave of this cloak, when I die, this cloaks, abilties will stay intact, but my sould must remain wandering this plane of existence for all eternity."

"...A high price..." Evosias replied, studying the cloak with his angular, violet eyes. "Any way to move onto the afterlife? In some ways, I'd rather finish my purpose and lessons in this life and move to the next one. Being stuck in one life seems comparable to never ascending in grade level, or a level in a game...or whatever have you. Just...stuck," he shivered, scales and furled wings shuffling. "...Want a quick ride? I can sprint us there."

Araglas smiled softly, "I would rather stay here, there is an up to this curse as well, in staying in this realm for all eternity, I will be a wandering spirit, but I can still influence things. This much I was told. Are you sure it would be no bother to you?" he asked.

"No bother at'all," Evosias replied, stopping before Araglas. Of his infinite forms, his full draconian one was his favorite. Every sinew and fibre of his being pulsed with savage power; to be ready in a moment's notice to strike like lightning, voice roaring like rolling thunder. With all these added benefits, he was also exotically handsome. His ebony body was lean and built for speed, constructed of the God's finest materials from his barrel of a muscle bound chest to his gently sloping, taut, and greyhound like abdomen before his toned, sinewy haunches and undulating tail. Evosias lowered his angular shoulders until his crimson sternum rested on the hot dusty street. "Well hop on, be mindful of the wings..."

Araglas was well aware of Evosias's exotic looks, he was finding them hard not to notice, smiling he nodded gently he placed himself onto Evosias's back and avoided the wings, "I hope this is not uncomfortable for you." he said nervously. He had only been in the air once, when an age old friend had turned him into a Sparrow, but he had not liked it then, he wondered if it would be different now.

"Ever ridden a dragon bareback, Mr. Manore?" Evosias asked, drawing himself up to his full height. "Sit between my shoulderblades, and hang on tight to my mane," he suggested, giving his neck a shake; golden blond mane shimmering in the sunlight. He wasn't planning on flying just yet, actually not at all...it was that Araglas had never mentioned anything about he cloak protecting him from falls, and eight feet was enough to injure most people. "So as a spirit, what sorts of things would you go around doing?" Evosias asked conversationally, striding in a quick and exceedingly smooth gait.

Araglas positioned himself as Evosias said and tangled his hands into his soft golden mane, his mane is very soft...like silk..., he smiled and shook his head, "No I haven't, but there is a first time for everything. I would do my best to help people, as I have done as long as I can remember."

"The word eludes me, but it is the antonymn to misanthrope; perhaps that best describes your good intentions towards people," Evosias replied thoughtfully. He felt compelled to relax his gait and slow to a walk, sauntering through the streets with the corner cafe drawing into view. The light pull on his mane from Araglas' hands brought about a familiar memory that he pushed away quickly. "Think you'll ever have the chance to experience every first time for everything moment that comes along in your life, Araglas?"

Araglas thought a moment, then he smiled, "I can only hope the Goddess allows it, but till I die, I will try." He smiled happily as he saw the cafe, "Wow, this town is very unique!"

"Aye, her citizens come from all walks of life and all over the continent. The city is a grand melting pot of cultures; and I'm happy to say many had quite a taste for arhcitecture," Evosias replied, stopping by the corner cafe and lowered his chest to the ground again so Araglas could dismount. "Now I'm curious again, you keep speaking of a Goddess..."

Araglas nimbly made his way off Evosias's back and reached the street with a smile, "The Goddess? She is my Diety, the one who gave me life, and my gift." he cast Evosias a curious glance, he had thought every one knew of The Goddess.

"Just wanted to check if we were on the same page," Evosias replied, morphing into his typical bipedal form, his golden hair darkening to a shimmering violet. "Sounds like you've a strong connection with the Goddess," he noted, striding to an unnocupied white cast iron table and pulled out a chair for Araglas.

Araglas nodded and smiled, he moved to the seat Evosias had pulled out for him and sat in it, though after removing his cloak and draping it over one of his arms. "Thank you. I would hope I do. As my creator, she is my mother and all I can do is be a son to her. Though...I am quite curious...I have not seen a temple any where in this land...not one. Do they not honor her here?" he asked curiously looking up at Evosias.

"I'm sure she is honnored, but not by means of a highly structured spiritual system. We've a few shrines, plazas for community gathering, but temples? Only the castle comes close enough to that term. People do worship their deities, your Mother Goddess included." Evosias by this time had already sat and studied Araglas carefully, "With this information, my mind comes to the conclusion that you are a sort of demi-god?"

Araglas blinked confusedly for a second, "A demi-god? What do you mean?" he did not understand what Eviosias was saying.

"I'll explain in a moment," Evosias said quickly as a waitress strutted to their table and whipped out a small notepad and quill.

"And what can I get for you fine gentlemen today?" she asked in a melodious voice complete with a trill.

"A large coffee with plenty of cream and sugar," Evosias replied warmly, "...perhaps a small hotcake to go with that as well."

"Very well, and for you, Sir?" the Waitress asked, adressing Araglas.

Araglas cast Evosias a curious glance before turning his attention to the waitress. "I'll have your strongest black coffee, but if you have any mix in some Shadow Wine. And I think a hot cake sounds wonderful." he flashed the waitress a small smile hoping that they had Shadow Wine.

Her quill was writing furiously and stopped abruptly, "...Shadow Wine..." she repeated slowly under her breath. "I'll see what I can do for you sir, might have to go to a nearby tavern. I'll see to it your orders are delivered quickly," the Waitress said, walking into the cafe.

"Thank you," Evosias called after her before turning his attention back to Araglas. "You've an interesting pallet, my dear friend," he noted. "Now...what I mean by demi-god is an induvidual who has at least one parent who is a Diety. Though not being privy to the manner of creation in your case, I can only assume to what I know of. I apologise my mouth is running away from me," Evosias chuckled, reaching for a small mint chocolate at a dish in the center of the table.

Araglas mulled over what Evosias said, "We are all Demi-Gods then. I think you misunderstood me, The Goddess is mother to us all. I did not mean to imply she was my birthing mother, I think of her as such though." he smiled and watched Evosias eat a piece of chocolate.

"Which is why your situation might be more specific than the rest of us. We indirectly came from the Goddess Mother while you came directly from her. Well at any rate, you are undeniably an exceedingly rare and extremely unique induviudal. I assume you are careful about your lineage however, many would see you as the closest connection to the Goddess." Evosias stared off into the sunbaked and traffic laden street, his left hand deftly guiding another chocolate into his maw. "So tell me, Araglas...have you ever once settled for any given amount of time?"

Araglas shook his head, "Your still misunderstanding me, I am a child of The Goddess, as we all are, but she isn't my mother. I had a mother...and a father..I just....do not remember them." He looked at a passing Gaurd to avoid Evosias from seeing the sad look in his eyes. "I have never settled for longer than twenty full moons."

Despite Araglas averting his eyes, the emotional footprint was strong enough for Evosias to pick up on. "I apologise then, for my misunderstanding." He stayed silent, occasionally studying Araglas with his violet eyes, "are you planning on staying long in Sar'dan? Must be difficult to keep friends."

Araglas turned his eyes back to Evosias, "Thank you..I meant no disrespect." Araglas picked up a chocolate mint and nibbled on it. "I shall stay until I'm not needed anymore. WHen that is, is up to The Goddess." He cast Evosias another glance before turning his eyes to the chocolate in his hand. "I really don't have many friends, I have colleagues. I had one friend. A long time ago, but sadly he died in the last War between The Shadow Kingdom and The Zellorah Kingdom." But back then...it had a different name, he said this to himself in his mind.

"I don't mean to pry...and you can ask these questions right back to me for fairness." He gazed intently at Araglas, memorizing how his blonde hair fell handsomely across his brow, the masculine jawline, his bright eyes. "...And what of love?" Evosias asked gently, his voice just only louder than a whisper.

Araglas stared into a puddle of water by their table, "Love....is something only the worthy are able to achieve, I myself am not." he said this matter-o-factly, like he had come to turms with it a long time ago. "When you never stay long in one place, it lessens your chances for that unique emotion, but when something inside of you is always telling you leave, and go from place to place. You have to except that love isn't something you will ever find."

"True love would follow you," Evosias replied softly, almost as a reminder. "Do not shun yourself as an outcast so quickly...love to is a something inside a being that tells them, nay, controls them to be with the one they love. If love could follow you, would you have it?" Evosias asked seriously.

Araglas turned his blue eyes to Evosias's, sadness was etched in them, "I would, but I know it is not possible, I am in the service of the Goddess, she controls my life. I do not know when that will end." he turned his gaze to the sky, wishing that his gaze could penetrate the heavens.

"Then ask her, ask her to augment her plans so that you may live your life; you'll be in her service long enough, long after your body leaves your soul as well because of your cloak." Evosias sighed, lightly thanking the waitress when she returned with their orders. "...Well on a lighter note, she found the wine you requested," Evosias noted, taking a sniff at Araglas' coffee handing it to him. "...How does she control your life?"

Araglas nodded but said nothing for a moment, sniffing his wine he smiled softly, "Shadow Wine, and Black coffee, one of the only Drinks in this world that does me good." He took a long sip of his coffee/wine and sighed, "The feelings that I have, those are given to me by the Goddess, she sends me where I am needed, and I go."

Evosias was startled to find a ray of hope smothered in himself with that statement. He composed himself, throwing his head alittle and warmed his already heated hands on his coffee mug. "...And what feeling is she sending you now?" Evosias asked, still gazing into the creamy rippling surface of his coffee before looking up and directly into Araglas' eyes.

Araglas met and held Evosias's gaze, "At the moment..she is silent, but...I am allowed to feel for myself. She may Control my life...but she does not control me." He gave Evosias a smile before taking another gulp of his Coffee/Wine.

A smile flickered on Evosias' lips, "Ah, and so...what is it you feel currently?" Evosias asked, adding quickly, "as from the standpoint to judge how long you'll grace us with your presence here in Sar'dan." He took a draught of his coffee, quietly smaking his lips appreciatively.

Araglas watched Evosias and smiled, "I think I will be here longer than I have ever been anywhere. I think there is a war brewing. In the past I have remained nuetral, but this time, I will choose a side. I will choose to side with Zellorah." He drained his Coffee/Wine and smiled, "Very good...."

"Mmm..." Evosias said, or rather simply made a noise as he drank from his coffee. He set his mug down, his demeanor a bit more serious now, "Ah yes...you said you aquired some interesting observations while traveling the Shadow Kingdom. You likely already know of my interest in such information...share as much as you feel comfortable, please," Evosias said, reaching for his hotcake.

Araglas had already started in on his hot cake, he set his fork down and wiped his mouth with a napkin, "I have traveled through the Shadow Lands many times before, and always I go unnoticed or am attacked relentlessly, this time, it was as if it was not cared that I went through the land. I was able to gather as much information as I could. There had been talk of an uprising, because Cadricoth, the Dark Lord would not attack Zellorah. I fear that it will happen, Cadricoth has become old...and almost senile. It will not take much to dethrone him. Just a clever trap, and he is done. But what worries me, and makes me choose a side, is the rumors of a Shade working to Dethrone Cadricoth. It would spell doom for Zellorah if a Shade were the Dark Lord."

"I see," Evosias replied in a detatched voice, mind computing the information. "...And it could spell doom for us, this shade would have to get through an army of several hundred thousand, Andromeda and myself, the Levorons, a draconian army, and a handful of talented mages. Did you happen to hear of any one person who wanted to take the throne from the Old Lord?" Evosias queried, wondering if an early ambush could be conducted to prolong the Dark Kingdom's instability.

"Sadly I could find no names. Only that it was someone close to the Dark Lord himself. Their armies are no small thing to triffle at. I've seen them practicing for battle. They are hundreds of thousand strong. Many creatures that are only found in the Shadow Kingdom, and have never been heard of here. Creatures that would give nightmares if people even knew they existed." Araglas shivered involuntarily.

"It will of course be a great conflict, with much honor!" Evosias winded half-heartedly. He dropped his voice, "They may have their nightmares, but we have some of theirs right here. By no means am I saying it will be an easy campaign, for that would demonstrate fatal arrogance. I am saying we've more than just a prayer," Evosias said, drinking his coffee to that statement. "My first impulse, however, would be to try diplomacy. Even if a rising Dark Lord is amused, then diplomacy would've already prevailed," he drank again to that.

Araglas grinned at Evosias' small speech, "I can tell, if the Zellorah Kingdom has a spirit like yours, we could win on that alone." At the mention of diplomacy he laughed, "I am sorry, I mean no disrespect, but I do not think it will work. When the new Dark Lord is on the throne. He will be but a puppet King to the Shade. Somehow....I know the Shade is behind all of this.....pulling all the strings." he grew silent and poked at his hot cake in thought.

"A Shade is a Shade, they've been slain before by some hero or another to maintain the balance of life for all of history..." Evosias paused and leaned forward in his seat, watching Araglas intently. "What is it about this particular Shade that has you so worried, my friend?" he asked in nearly a whisper. Evosias could tell there was a connection between Araglas and this dark country that went beyond simply traveling through it.

Araglas looked up from his hot cake, his eyes looking into Evosias', "I do not know. It is a feeling in my gut. But not the kind I get from The Goddess. It is...another feeling. Like we have unfinished business. But...I have never in truth, met this Shade in person. Just heard whispers of him and his deeds. I know something....but.." he tried to graps at the right words, "They are...trapped...inside my memories. Which have been locked to me by The Goddess. I do not know why..but...I know the key lies there...in my locked memories. If I could unlock them. I would be able to figure out what is happening now. Why this Shade is vying for a puppet King to make war against the Zellorah Kingdom." he grew silent and pulled a small glass vial from his cloaks inner pocket. It was a clear vial with a bright blue liquid in it. He un-capped the lid and set the vial on the table and stared at the liquid.

Evosias' attention was also drawn to this curious vial that Araglas had procured. He was tempted to ask, but the thoughts on the Shade mulled over and took precedence. "Ever made an attempt to visit said Shade? The cloak would protect you from his magic at any rate," he suggested, staring at the vial. "...And, what is that?"

Araglas looked up from the vile, "I have...I have never been able to locate him. He is always one step ahead of me. It is as if he knows I search for him. I have spent many years looking for him. And yet...I have never found him." he was unaware of the statement he had just made, how much it entailed to him. Again his eyes flickered to the vial, "This? This is a small amount of water. Taken from a spring in the farthest reaches of the north. I met, a strange woman there. She was older than any person I have ever met. Not only in appearance, but in every sense. She told me...my mind was sheilded...and that this water would help me. But I was not to drink it till a certain time. And that I would know when that time came."

"Ah...which makes one think that the Shade is invovled in that somehow. Also its odd that this Shade avoids you, typically they'd dispose of their anxiety rather than dodge it," Evosias observed, taking a modest bite out of his hotcake. "Well keep that safe, is that a glass vial by chance? Seems a fragile container for such precious contents."

Araglas nodded, he placed the lid back onto the vial and slipped it inside his hidden cloak pocket. His eyes found their way to Evosias' and they had a small smile lit up in them, "The vial is made of ice. But it's a very special ice. It's harvested like glass, and is shaped like glass. It will never melt, or break. And you can only get it in the very far north." as he was talking he found himself being swallowed into Evosias's gaze, it was like falling into an ocean and drowning. Almost instantly he found himself locked away, cut off from the world, and his unconcious body softly hit the table.

Evosias was quick to react; morphing right across the table to pull Araglas away from his hotcake and the table. "And what is this now, my friend?" he crooned in a concerned tone, reforming into his normal self as he checked Araglas over. With a sigh he set the vial into his friend's cloak and formchanged into the dragon from before and carefully lifted Araglas onto his back with his maw. "...Your concious mind may be resting, but how's your unconcious mind?" Evosias queried, strutting off after leaving tender for the waitress.

Araglas was breathing evenly, he had fallen alseep. A small portion of his subconsious mind was able to speak though, "Tired...so tired....been traveling too long...never resting...always fighting...in her...name...tired....sorry....rest now..." with that jarbled message Araglas' subconcious locked itself away in his mind, behind gates and doors, there it rested. Araglas snuggled closer to Evosias's back sighing contently.

"So long as it wasn't a stroke," Evosias mused grimly, shaking his draconian head as he pranced through the streets of Zellorah.

A general roar shattered the typical city rythmn. "Have a productive hunt, Andromeda?" Evosias queried warmly, watching her eclipse the sun over the city as she flew in from the south.

"Quite...is Araglas well? He appears, unconcious..."

The statement may have seemed redundant, but she was a quarter mile off the ground when she made that determination.

"Aye, just tired. Meet us at the castle, will you?" Evosias said, prepairing to take flight.

"Well you've wings, use them you oaf!" Andromeda prodded at Evosias, tearing off in a violet streak.

Both dragons, pure and draconian alike alighted from their flights on a runway type ivory balcony hemming in the highest chambers of one of the castle's grand turrets. Evosias waltzed through sliding exterior doors fit for a dragon in a smooth canter, Andromeda already preening herself in a shock of sunlight from the southern array of windows in Evosias' chambers. Evosias laid Araglas on an obsidian leather couch and didn't bother form changing, simply curled around the piece of furnature and watched the snoozing man.

"Learn anything interesting from him?" Andromeda queried in earnest.

"Only that Zellorah will need an ally..." Evosias replied grimly, not quite coming a conclusion just yet.

"...I'm sure I could call in a favour..." Andromeda replied pompously, licking the blood and carnage from her talons.

Evosias didn't reply. He was all too caught up in the intense gaze he had received from Araglas before he had collapsed. It was if Araglas had lost himself in that moment, but not from exhaustion. "Think it was because of me?" Evosias asked Andromeda.

"Ask him yourself if you wish, in time," Andromeda replied tenderly, curling up in her ray of paradise.

"...Aye, until then...how about some shut eye, eh?" Evosias replied, the rays of the sun finding him as well. "Tell me more of your favour..."

Andromeda did so until the pair slept lightly, waiting for Araglas to arise.

The sun was warming Araglas's face, and he felt his slumber coming to an end. He opened his eyes slowly, everything around him was blurry, and it took a moment to focus. He sat up slowly, taking in everything around him. Evosias was snoozing nearby, as was Andromeda. His first thought was how had he gotten there, the last thing he remembered, "Was...Evosias...his eyes." he shook his head trying to remember what happened, it was all jumbled a little. He sat up more straighter and sighed softly, "When...when can I be free...free to live...my own life..." he said this softly, as if in prayer.

Evosias' body twitched as if he were running in a dream, the motions vibrating the couch ever so softly. Araglas' words caught the highly attune ears of Andromeda, however, and she lifted her scintillating violet head to gaze directly at Araglas. She made no sound, no expression; simply studied him.

Araglas looked up, he had felt a gaze upon him. He looked at Evosias first, a small smile straying across his lips before he turned his gaze to Andromeda, "Andromeda, it's good to see you again. I trust your meal was well?"

"Mmm, quite," Andromeda replied, turning her head towards the open balcony doors and spit out a femur at high velocity. "It would seem you wear yourself out, over what I'm only in vauge comprehenison with, from what I gleaned from Evosias' mind. What drives you so?" she asked, forepaws crossed intellectually before her.

Araglas blinked, he was surprised by the Dragoness' straightforwardness. He gave a small smile, "Peace, a small chance of peace. That is all The Goddess wishes for her children. I try my best to make it so. But wars break out, people are killed, families are split. SO I work harder..I work..so that she will be happy." his words sounded half-hearted, like he almost believed himself of what he was saying, but knew he was lying to.

"An honorable dedication," Andromeda replied, taping the talons on her right paw twice. "Though if she wills your mission to be a peace creator, why is it that your life is so, unpeaceful?" she pointed out in thought. "Perhaps its simply a sacrifice, though I'm sure her path for you will not be so rocky in the near future...soon there will be millions yearning for peace, and your task may be all but done."

Araglas nodded, smiling at the Dragoness in her wisdom, "You are right...I am just tired, I have been alive...for so long...I have always been alone...I've only ever had one friend...and he is dead. I have never known love. I wish to experience things that I have never before." his gaze rested upon Evosias for a moment before they moved back to Andromeda, "But it all depends on The Goddess, it is her will that makes me move, or chooses my path. I have never before resented it till now...I wish to have my own life, but I made the choice...all those years ago...to be in her service." His eyes grew sad and he rested his head upon his knees which he drew close to his chest.

Andromeda didn't bother with mindspeech to say, "Ohh..." in her growling, rattling draconian way. "...Love is the highest tier of peace. What comes before that is understanding, for from it breeds empathy...then we may realize love," she replied, noting his shifting gaze to Evosias. She gave a coy grin for a fleeting moment, "...I don't mean to sound all too cliche, but perhaps you just haven't met the right person yet. By the right person, the induvidual who can help you in your cause for peace." Andromeda paused and studied him, taping her talons again, "...Tell me, do you know what the primary duty of a Dragon Rider is, Araglas?"

Araglas listened intently to Andromeda, drinking in her words, he wanted another friend, so why not a Dragoness, "I wish to find that person....I truely do...but...I do not know if I would be allowed, The Goddess has stopped me from doing things before...there is nothing to stop her from doing it again." at the Dragoness's question he shook his head, "No...I do not.."

With a nod, Andromeda watched him with her clear-cut ameythyst eyes. She drew a breath, "They're keepers of the peace. With their dragon companions bonded to them in one of the strongest connections in existence, they seek out chaos, violence, and injustice...and alongside their dragon companions, they spread peace," she said, nodding to Evosias. After a pause, Andromeda stood and strode closer. "...Ever believe things happen for a reason?"

Araglas was amazed at what he was hearing, he had never heard this before. He had always thought that Dragon Riders were royal body gaurds of some sort, he never imagined they were like himself, always searching for ways to bring peace. As Andromeda moved closer he found he could see very clearly all the colors that made up her scales, his eyes found hers soon after that, "That is how I live my life Andromeda..." he was curious as to why she was asking him this.

"I see, well its good to know that we're not only on the same page, but reading the same novel," Andromeda replied, sitting again perhaps only two meters from Araglas, her head and neck craning the distance. "...And is that a note of curiosity I detect?" she grinned coyly, watching Araglas. "I think so. Now...when you came into this city, you were looking for something. Whether that be directions, a B&B, ways to spread peace...seems you found all of those rather quickly. And why?" she motioned to Evosias again.

Araglas shook his head as he tried to figure out what Andromeda was telling him. "I cam to this city because The Goddess brought me here, I was following what she led me to do. I-I do not know what you are trying to tell me...I....you....she...." he looked helplessly at the Dragoness, he truely no idea what she was hinting at or talking about. He was becoming rather nervous, his heart was racing, like he had been running for miles.

"Shhh...calm thyself..." Andromeda crooned in a rather theraputic voice. She was smiling internally, "I may be wrong, or the logic may add up and you're here for a reason that you'll realize in time..." she sighed, lying her head on Evosias' belly (who in the meantime had rolled over onto his back like a lounging male cat in the sun). "Now I'll let Evosias extend the formal invitation as well, though you're quite welcome to bed here in our chambers...there's a few spare rooms, though its up to you, seeing your luggage is already at the B&B."

Araglas had taken several deep breathes and looked at Andromeda closely, "Andromeda, please...finish what you were saying...I did not mean to panick...I...I...cannot offer an exscusefor my reaction...but I wish to know what you were trying to tell me. As for my things...they will be fine...my room is paid for, it will be open to me for as long as I need it. The room is also sealed shut, none may enter but myself..." he looked at the Dragoness imploringly, wishing for her to finish her sayings from earlier.

"...I see, well alright, were was I?" Andromeda instantly collected her thoughts, "...I was suggesting the reason why you were directed to this city, was so that you could meet another peace keeper; that at the very least makes sense. You were here, and we found you out of hundreds of thousands of people...that and a few other obscure things makes some other pieces fall into place." She sighed, it would be up to Evosias what sort of relationship this would be. "Seems peace has found you for once," she observed.

Araglas modded, his mind as taking all of this in and digesting it. He had not thought o put things together as the Dragoness had, he was just intent on doing The Goddess' work, making sure to find what she wanted him to find and then be on his way. He looked up, his sky blue eyes searching Andromeda's amythest, "I....am still..confused...but...what you say..makes sense...out of the thousands of people..how could you and Evosias immediatly have been drawn to me..." his gaze went to Evosias and rested there.

Andromeda watched Evosias for a moment as well, a moment where Evosias stretched luxriously on his back. The Dragoness rolled her crystalline eyes and censored the male dragon with her tail. "That's why I asked you if you believed in events happening for a greater cause or reason. She sighed, "I'm not sure what the relationship is to be between us three, or even you two, but there's something between the Goddess and her directions for you and us swooping in to offer directions." She paused as she reviewed her repeated words. "Yeah...that works," she mused, mostly to herself. "Still confused, Sweetie?" she crooned.

Araglas had blushed softly and turned his head when Evosias had stretched, when it was safe to look again he nodded at Andromeda, "A little, but...talking further with you has helped..it will take some time for me to comprehend all of this, but...as long as I am not alone anymore...I think...I will be ok...with whatever happens..." he gave Andromeda a hopeful yet sad smile.

"Certainly, especially with this eager puppy of a draconian as a companion," Andromeda replied, rolling Evosias over onto his belly. She chuckled lightly, "Besides, even if you had to go, we could follow; we both have wings you know," Andromeda pointed out in a positive light. She fell silent, watching Evosias for a moment, "...I hope you didn't scar your mind from seeing too much...I'll have to make sure he adds more clothing to his wardrobe, in any form he takes."

Araglas smiled softly, it felt good to have friends, even if they had not said anything like it, he could feel it, in his heart. He looked at Evosias and smiled with a blush, "I have not been scarred...I actually..." he closed his mouth as the blush on his face became more prominent. He averted his eyes from the two Dragons and stared at into a corner.

Andromeda nearly felt the rush of blood to his cheeks, and she studied him with a curious expression for a moment before smiling. "I see, no need to worry 'round us. The idea with friendship is being comfortable with your companions, right? I understand," she consoled softly, her eyes twinkling.

Araglas was still blushing but he turned his gaze back to the two Dragons. He reached to h is neck and undid a small chord, almost instantly his cloak slipped off, he folded it and moved it to the arm of the couch, "I do not know, if I could be as comfortable as Evosias, but I will try." he gave Andromeda a happy smile before leaning backinto the couch and watching Evosias sleep.

Evosias gave a small grin, "...You actually, what?" he asked quietly, Andromeda going bug eyed before stalking off back to her plot of sunlight from the southern windows. He had changed back to his normal form when he woke from his slumber, still a bit groggy but with remarkably perfect hair.

Araglas blushed, he looked at Andromeda curious as to why she had gone bug-eyed, but his gaze went back to Evosias, "Did you sleep well?" he asked, hoping that he had not noticed he had been watching him sleeping.

"Why...yes..." Evosias replied, covering an expansive yawn; his tongue curling in his mouth. "Nice lil' nap if I do say so myself," he chuckled, watching Araglas. He noted Araglas' action of removing his cloak as one showing that he felt safe and comfortable in their company; this brought a great deal of warmth to Evosias' heart.

Andromeda met Araglas gaze when she could and shrugged, "Something he said..."

Araglas gave Andromeda a glance, "What did he say?", before turning back to Evosias and smiling, "Thats good..I wanted to thank you...for...carrying me here. I did not realize how tired I was." he blushed again and looked down at his feet.

"You're quite welcome...just couldn't have left you there," Evosias replied modestly, despite being very happy that Araglas was grateful. "You still tired? He asked, blinking away exhaustion; he had a late night yesterday.

Araglas nodded, he tried to stiffle a yawn, but he couldn't, "I am....I have been traveling for several months now...and...earlier had been my only restful sleep...I had not been able to sleep peacefully while traveling..." he yawned again and tried to blink the sleepiness away.

Evosias nodded and formchanged to his dragon form once again and went to his side in a semi-circle. "I would feel better if you were near...for your protection," he said, motioning with his handsome head the natural space that one could comfortably curl up in. "Go on, I won't mind."

It took Araglas a mo ment to realize what Evosias was asking him to do, then when he realized he blushed softly, but hesmiled, "Of course...only if you don't mind though.." he deftly moved to the spot that Evosias indicated and snuggled close to him, "Thank you...Evosias..." it was all he could manage to say as he instantly fell asleep again. His breathing steady and a small smile lighting his face.

"Rest now...my road weary friend," Evosias crooned softly, cuddling snugly around Araglas. He smiled as Andromeda curled around the both of them almost twice. Evosias drew a deep breath...succumbing to the rising tides of sleep.

Slowly Araglas opened his eyes, he blinked rapidly to chase the sleep from them and looked around him, he felt something warm beneath him and he smiled softly when he realized it was Evosias. He tried to find a time piece, he had left his at the inn, he had no idea how long he had been asleep, he had heard music, and it had woken him. Looing out a window, he saw lights from below and surmised that a party was going on. He smiled to himself and softly stroked Evosias on the head, "Evosias..." he said softly, not wanting to jar him from sleep.

A gentle smile graced Evosias' lips, his eyelids fluttering open. "Mmm, you're a welcome sight to rouse to," he crooned, his violet eyes a bit lighter as if filled with energy. Evosias gave a furtive lick to Araglas' jawline before formchanging, leaning up against Andromeda's belly with a content grin. "Feeling better?"

Araglas blushed and nodded, the skin where Evosias had licked him was tingling and it made him slightly light headed, "I actually do. Thank you." he looked out the window again before looking back at Evosias, "I think there is a party going on in the palace." He ruffled his hair trying to get it out of his eyes.

"Ah yes, the Ball." Evosias yawned greatly, taking a few moments to come back to conciousness, "Are you interested in attending?" he asked, watching Araglas with cutely sleepy eyes, "plenty of gormet food, drink, exotic music, and dance to be had." Evosias loved parties, and after their nap food and excitement sounded delicious.

Araglas nodded, "I actually, have never been to one." he said this shyly and blushed while looking at his feet. SO many things I have missed being in her service, I must try to remedy this..., he said this to himself.

"Honest? Well, what's the rush anyways, right?" Evosias replied in a light muse to bring up Araglas' spirit. "I do hope you are comfortable in crowds."

Andromeda began to stir, her tail curling in a stationary stretch, "...Are we going someplace?" she queried sleepily, watching Evosias and Araglas with but one eye.

Araglas nodded, "I can handle myself well enough...but it has been a long time since I have had to be in a large crowd....but..I do wish to go..." he looked at Evosias hopefully, "Would...you mind going with me?"

Evosias' vermillion skin around his maw turned just a shade darker for a moment or two. "I would not mind at all, I would love to go with you," he replied, getting to his feet. "Coming as well, Andromeda?"

"Well of course, I love the attention," the Proud Dragoness replied, shuffling herself sideways before getting to her feet as well.

"Right then, I'll get the saddle," Evosias said, strutting off to another part of his chambers.

Araglas watched Evosias go to the next room. He looked at his clothes and noticed all the dust and a few smudges, "I think..." he pulled out a small green vial from his pocket and swirled the liquid around. He pulled of the lid and the liquid floated into the air and immediatly became a giant bubble, after reaching his height and width Araglas stepped into the bubble and held his breath as the liquid in the bubble started to spin rapidly around him.

Andromeda watched this display with interest, "Getting cleaned up?" she asked, a twinkle of amusement in her voice.

"Araglas?!" Evosias exclaimed, sprinting back with a two-seater saddle in tow.

"It's alright, he's getting washed up I suppose," Andromeda replied, getting into position for Evosias to dress her in the saddle.

After a few moments the bubble pulled away from Araglas and went back into the vial. His clothes were now whiter and seemed very clean. SHaking his head he sputtered as water dripped into his eyes, "Only problem with that...my hair gets wet...." he gave his head a shake and ll the water flew out of it instantly, leaving his hair dry and slightly fluffy. He casta curois glance at Evosias who seemed slightly worried about something, "Are you ok?"

Aurelia smiled then gave her horse a quick kick so it took off at a gallop. And there was me thinking I was going to get the whole speech about how I shouldn't wonder outside the city walls without a guard incase i'm ambushed or something... she thought as she galloped through the streets towards the city gates.

"BE CAREFUL, AURELIA! NO STRANGERS!" Mira shouted after her sister. "Ever since my grandmother died... I had to look after her... I don't even know what happened to my real mother... Well..." she sighed, trying to turn her thought to something else. She helped Caanan take two readied horses from the stables and headed outside. They both mounted, then leaded their horses toward where Aurelia was going; the city gates.

For an hour, Connor gathered civilians and the royal servants for aid in decorating the ballroom. They would do this until the sun would begin to set.

Hooded and cloaked in black, rimmed with crimson, Jaiden, face shadowed, came upon his black horse Rox alongside Lake Placid. Upon his shoulder was his falcon Hex, staring into the waters hoping he would be aloud to search the waters for prey. Sighing, Jaiden led the horse on the sands, listening to the waves crash on the bank, washing it with long fingers of a complexed blue blended with a white hue. The lake was large enough to have a liquid horizon and could be mistaken for a vast sea, yet the waters were not salty. Rather, it was quite fresh, eligable to quench thirst.

Suddenly the sounds of galloping hooves echoed through the trees that surrounded the lake. Then right behind where Jaiden stood, Aurelia's horse burst through the trees with her sitting delicately its in saddle. She slowed it down, not noticing Jaiden at first as she quickly jumped down from the saddle and landed softly upon the ground. It was then when she turned towards the lake that she saw him, and gasped when she saw the figure cloaked in dark garments.

Jaiden pulled down his hood to show a smile on his face. "Hmm..." He then allowed his falcon to fly freely through the air. "Good evening... Since when does a beautiful girl go wandering without her guards?" Still grinning, he looked upon her softly, for her beauty seemed to overtake him.

"I do not feel the need for a guard as I am able to protect myself stranger." Aurelia replied defiantly as she took the reigns of her horse and led it down to the waters edge.

"Forgive me. I didn't mean to offend you..." Jaiden said calmly. "What is your name, may I ask?" He watched her closely, leaving none of her movements left unnoticed. He seemed to be sudying her. To him, he never saw a girl as gorgoeus as her especially since there aren't many pretties in the Shadow Kingdom.

My name is Aurelia, princess of Sar'dan." She said simply as she allowed the horse to drink from the water. "And what may I ask is your name? I do not recall seeing you before..." she looked at him, waiting for a reply.

"It is good to meet you, princess..." Jaiden sighed. "I am Jaiden Skullsworth of the Shadow Kingdom... I don't normally travel this far..." He laughed suddenly. "I have this habit of rebelling against my father's orders..." He thought for a brief moment before continuing. "Hm... I have never met anyone from Sar'dan before... especailly one of high royalty..."

"I have never met anyone from the shadow kingdom, and i'm sure people would not be happy to hear I have. There are rumours that everyone that lives there is evil. Is that true?" Aurelia replied as she removed her cloak and set it on the ground.

Jaiden shook his head softly. "No... not all are evil... There are slaves who are of good... there are rebels against the king who want so much to flee to Zellorah but cannot... In order to flee one must get close to the Dark Lord... one has to be exceedingly cunning... And the dark king's royal advisor has done just that... except... he has no means of fleeing... Well, I am not here to speak of the dealings in the Shadow Kingdom... I seek solitude..."

"You wish to be alone? I guess I am bothering you then...I do apologise." Aurelia replied with a kind smile now upon her lips. She turned and removed a small bag from her horse then sat down upon her cloak. "Care to join me?" she said as she removed a few apples from the bag.

Jaiden smiled. "Of course... I could not object to a comely princess such as yourself." Carefully, he left his horse Rox, and he took the reins in order to lead him towards Aurelia. He sat down opposite of her with his horse towering above. The horse gazed down at the apples and whinnedm bobbing its head. "What brings you out here?" Jaiden asked.

"I come here to relax...and to have some time to act normal. Being a princess isn't as glamorous as people think. Constantly being followed by guards and not being allowed to do some things." She replied as she gave an apple to Jaiden. She stood and offered an apple to Jaiden's horse.

Jaiden took the apple with a smile. "Thanks." Then he took a bite out of it. "I can understand what you mean ina way... being the royal advisors right hand man isn't fun either. It's almost like being treated like a prince." Rox the horse grabbed the apple with his teeth and gobbled it up.

Aurelia giggled at the greediness of the horse and tickled it's nose before seating herself beside Jaiden again. "Well in this place we can both feel normal, with no one to bother us."

Jaiden smiled. "Yeah..." Daring, he kissed Aurelia sofly on her cheek and then bit a piece out of his apple.

Aurelia blushed slightly but turned her head so he could not see. She glanced at the lake then at Jaiden and a smile spread across her face. She turned to Jaiden and leaned close to him, looking like she was going to return the kiss. She watched his reaction then suddenly whispered, "Last one in is a rotten egg." With this she giggled again and quickly jumped up and ran to the waters edge and dived in fully clothed.

Jaiden laughed and chased her after he got up. Rox the horse just stared in amusement. With a big "whoops!!" Jaiden slipped and fell into the water face first. When he lifted himself onto his hands and knees he was dripping from head to toe. Suddenly, the wave of the lake washed over him. He got up and rubbed through his hair real fast to get rid of the liquid. "Heh heh... oops..."

Aurelia laughed heartily at his blunder as she floated in the middle of the lake. "I haven't had this much fun in so long!" she said as she swam to him.

Jaiden laughed heartliy again and came over to Aurelia. "Same here..." But when she off her gaurd, he splashed her.

Aurelia screamed with surprise but began laughing as she splashed him back. "You muxt come to the party at my castle tonight as my guest...and i'm sure I can find you somewhere to sleep as well." she said. "And the tailor could make you a party outfit fit for a prince." she smiled as she draped her arms round his neck so so was facing him now. "What do you say?"

Laying his hands gently on her hips and moved in close to her face. "Of course..." Then he kissed you passionately on the lips.

Aurelia's eyes widened in shock but she did not break the kiss. When finally she parted from him she looked at him but not in anger. "May I ask what that was for?" she asked quietly.

He blushed and turned away, scratching the back of his head." Sorry...I..."

"No don't be sorry...i've just never had someone kiss me like that before." Aurelia whispered. She walked round to face him then gave him a kiss to match the last. "We should be going...we're soaking wet and we have to get ready for the party..." she said taking his hand.

"Yeah... you're right... So... Are you going top rise your horse, Aurelia? It would be best so you don't leave it behind... Don't worry. I'll ride right beside you and I promise not to run off." He laughed lightly.

Aurelia smiled as she let go of his hand and walked to her cloak. She picked it up and wrapped it round her shoulders before turning to Jaiden. "You better not..." she said still smiling. "I'll have my guards track you down..." She then climbed up into the saddle of her horse.

Jaiden laughed as he mounted his Horse. His falcon came down and made a perch on his shoulder. "Of course..."

"We must hurry. If I am late my sister will be angry...though she does not know this party is happening...it is a surprise for her. You'll meet her later...but for now let's go!" Aurelia said then kicked the horse to start it galloping.

Jaiden grinned and followed close behind her, allowing her to lead the way. "Sounds interesting!"

Caanan and Mira at last made their way into the forests, enjoying themselves. The horses seemed very easy to manipulate and they could ride on the paths without having to worry about a horse's disobedience.

A great, sky-blue griffin dove down, throwing Caanan out of the saddle of his horse. They landed on the ground with the griffin on top of him. Caanan tried to struggle but the creature wouldn't get off. "Winters! Let him go! He's with me!"

The griffin stepped off lighty, but had his claws deep into the ground, clawing it. "Who is he?" Winters asked bitterly.

"My name is Caanan," Caanan replied angrily and did his best to keep his patience. "You must be the griffin i heard so much about. The one who ALWAYS makes sure Mira is alright even if it means tackling the innocent... Err... I can't believe ot about you."

Winters laughed heartily. "That's right..." he said, making a stance as if to pounce on Caanan.

Tiredly, Caanan got back on his feet and tried to get to his horse but Winters wouldn't let him. "Come on! Let me mount my horse! I'm not doing anything wrong!"

"I don't trust you...I've seen your face before. I know your history now that I think of it..." the griffin said scornfully.

"I told you! I'm not doing anything wrong!" Caanan shouted fiercely.

"How am I supposed to believe that..." Winters glared hatefully at him.

"Winters! That is enough!" Mira shouted in rage. "Don't attack and interrogate my companions! i told you this before when you did the same thing to Connor!"

winters stepped back, feeling small. "Forgive me, m'lady. Of course..."

Caanan climbed onto his horse's back with a sigh.

"Don't apologize to me, Winters! Apologize to Caanan!" Mira scolded.

Winters at last turned to Caanan, bowed and apologized to him. Then he lifted off toward the skies.

Caanan sighed as he peered up at the clouds. The sun was beginning to go down. "We batter head back... it's getting dark." He turned his horse to face the way that would lead back to the Zellorah Castle.

"You're right," Mira said as she turned her horse around. "Let's go..." then they headed down the path together.

When they got to the stables, they left their horses and went to the castle.

The ball was ready, and now most of the guests were there, including Connor, but he waited at the castle entrance for the others to come back. His patience was extrordinary.

Mira and Caanan came to the castle gates, but it was mira who was confused at what was going on. Caanan only grinned, knowing that connor's plan had succedded.

Mira stepped up to Connor with a smile on her face. "Hi!"

"Good evening, Mira," Connor replied smoothly as he bowed. "Many await you inside..."

"Huh? what for?" Mira asked.

"You shall see." Connor smiled warmly. "May I lead you inside?"

"Um... Of course!" Mira held onto Connor's arm as he went inside. Connor caught Caanan give him a wink and he almost laughed.

Aurelia slowed her horse down as she came to the castle. She spotted Caanan and waved before stopping and turning to look at Jaiden. "We're here..." she said pushing her still soaking wet hair from her face.

Caanan laughed when he saw the newcomer and Aurelia. "So, you've found a friend for the ball, huh? What's his name?"

"Good day," Jaiden said calmly. "My name's Jaiden."

"Are we late? I still have to get dressed..." Aurelia said as jumped down from her horse. "I need to find some clothes for Jaiden...we...uh...accidentally got wet." she said giving a small smile to Jaiden before turning to Caanan.

"Uh..." Caanan thought for a second, folding his arms with a grin. "I don't think you're too late, but not that late. I think I can take care of Jaiden, so you should go ahead and get ready. I'll have him in the ballroom in no time. He watched as Jaiden carefully dismounted his horse.

Aurelia nodded as her horse was led off to the stables. "Take care of him Caanan...and don't forget to save a dance for me." She said smiling at him. She turned to Jaiden. "I'll see you soon...Caanan will take care of you." She then turned and quickly entered the castle, running to her room.

Caanan led Jaiden upstairs and into one of the dressing rooms so Jaiden could find the clothes he wanted to change into. When jaiden was finished, he followed Caanan downstairs into the ballroom. Jaiden looked quite princely and handsome. "There you go," Caanan said. "You'll have to wait here for Aurelia." Then Caanan left to get a drink.
