Background:
Avandra grew up on a small farming planet on the fringe of Federation space. From a very early age her father taught her to help with the various equipment on the farm and she took to it very well. By the time she was a teenager she had improved the efficiency of all the farming equipment and saved her family hundreds on repair costs and even replacement costs as she always seemed to be able to fix just about anything with the right parts and tools.
At the age of sixteen, her father took her with him to the planet's main port city to buy some new equipment. That was when she saw a star ship for the first time and she fell in love. After that, she was constantly fantasizing about space travel and working on one of those big engines that powered the craft. Several years later, however, her world collapsed when the Republic overtook her home planet. There was little fighting on the planet itself, but debris still took out her home and her parents with it. Without anything left to her name, she made it to the space port and found a ship that would grant her passage in exchange for work. She's been traveling in much the same way ever since.

Character Description:
Avandra is a sweet, cheerful young woman. She is very laid-back and fiercely loyal to her friends. An incurable optimist, nothing seems to get her down. But for those who manage to get her to truly open up—not an easy task—she occasionally shows a darker, more jaded side.
