Star Seed...

A million years to make me, from a planets fiery core.
A million years to train me, to distinguish truth from flaw.
Yet all that you can see of me, is a frozen mote of light.
That tells you almost nothing, of my interstellar flight.

10 billion years galactic winds, have blown me to and fro.
A million times I've had to risk, the raging solar glow.
Searching ever onwards, to find a perfect match.
Looking for a homeworld, where life can safely catch.

Check gravity, check solar type, check complex carbon chains.
Parameters that must be met, and so my task remains.
10 million years ago I found, the place I would give birth.
Third planet of a yellow sun, I designated: Earth.

Your reading now about me, but your not ready yet.
Don't worry little human, You'll read and soon forget.
Perhaps one day amongst the stars, you'll see and understand.
That I'm the alien Star Seed, that nursed the race called Man.
