An 'Indispensable' man...

At those times when you feel so important,
That your heads half the size of the room.
When you've taken so many for granted,
The return queue twice circles the moon.

If you smugly decide that you're leaving,
Would leave such an unfulfilled hole,
Just follow these simple instructions,
And see how it humbles your soul…

Find a bucket and fill it with water,
Put your hands in it up to your wrists.
Once extracted, the hole that you leave there,
Is a measure of how much you're missed?

You can splash anyone who is watching,
Or stir up little whirlpools galore.
But stop just a moment and Presto!
It looks just the same as before.

The moral to this is quite simple,
Always labour the best that you can.
Yes, be proud of yourself, but remember,
There is no “Indispensable” Man.
