Another Chance



I thought I didn’t need you at all
I told you I didn’t want you to call
I tried to be strong when you walked away
Just a different guy and a different day


Suddenly I realized I went so wrong
Standing next to you is where I belong
All I’m asking is for one more try
This time I swear I’ll be the perfect girl


I said you weren’t perfect but I lied
I guess I never looked and I never tried
I don’t care what kind of clothes you wear
It doesn’t matter how you do your hair


Suddenly I see how handsome you are
So much more then the boy that’s in my arms
How I wish you were here instead because
You’re everything that I wish he was


All I need is a chance, I’ll make it all okay
So many things that I never got to say
Tried to call and tell you I’m sorry on the phone
But you didn’t answer cuz you’re not alone


Suddenly she’s alone with you
Staring in your eyes like I wanna do
Just a bit to late to care anymore
Feeling so lost standing at your door


You say she’s better and that might be true
But I’m not leaving here without you
If you’d take me back only then you’d see
I’m perfect for you and you’re just right for me


Suddenly I know what I have to do
I’ll wait a lifetime ‘til I get to you
And I may die before you come back to me
But I’ll still be waiting all through eternity

Broken



They shared true love that death alone could break
Yet break it did and he was left with a choice to make
Instinct told him her life is the most important thing to save
Yet in doing so he sentences himself to his own dark grave


That’s not so bad he thinks if she could live for one more day
Yet is it even living if her heart, her love has been torn away
How can I save her life and yet break her heart all in one
She lives just for me so when I’m gone why should she live on


If I were her, he thinks, would I rather live alone or die
What good is a beating heart if it only makes you cry
What greater love hath man than for his wedded wife
That he should give his soul if it would only save her life


Yet even as his own heart breaks he knows what he must do
Because life isn’t worth living if she’s not there living it too
And he knows she won’t keep living if she has to do it alone
The pain of a broken heart is worse than any he has known


I would rather that she dies than have to suffer such a fate
Although it hurts so badly he just watches as it becomes too late
And as he holds her in his arms she looks him right in the eye
Even though no words are needed, she says thank you for letting me die

Desserts and Oceans



You said you were going and walked out the door
I know I needed my space, I guess you just needed more
you said this isn’t over; someday we’ll work it all out
But that was years ago and this love is like a draught
I’m all alone in the desert without a cloud in sight
I wish the rain would come wash me away tonight


Even though I feel tormented, we’re still torn apart
I’ve never given up, still carrying your smile in my heart
Still carrying all the feelings that I never lost for you
Sometimes they feel so heavy but it’s all that I can do


Sending prayers up above like messages in bottles out to sea
Hoping someday you’ll find them and come running back to me
The tides come and go and no messages or prayers return
Watching over the empty ocean, still letting this fire burn
All I ever see is a broken heart and still waters, both so blue
I just wish you were here with me; this island was made for two

Emo Girl



She locks herself in her room
And screams at the world
Every day she’s consumed
By the hatred kids hurled


The scars she wears on her arms
Match the ones on her heart
She can’t hear all the alarms
Tearing her eardrums apart


So every day she loses herself
In the music that sets her free
And puts her problems on a shelf
When she hears her favorite CD


She picks the strings on her guitar
Hoping they’ll carry her away
Someplace less bizarre
Than his troubles of today


Sometimes she cries
When no ones around
Every day her heart dies
And no hope can be found


In thinking about tomorrow
When today sucks so badly
It just drives home her sorrow
When these nights end so sadly


So she keeps playing sad songs
Ironic, how in this she finds joy
And a place she feels she belongs
I guess she’s just an emo girl

Him

 


His hair blows gently in the soft summer breeze
With a pure heart as golden the autumn leaves
He smiles and it’s as bright as fresh winter snow
When spring time comes his soft skin begins to glow


His smile opens flowers’ petals as no sunrise could do
Noonday skies compared to his eyes never look as blue
Artists turn from beautiful sunsets to paint his lovely face
He smiles and the twinkle in his eyes no star could replace


His love and passion burn more brightly than any fire could
Waves of his emotion carry me like the ocean carries driftwood
My feelings for him run deeper than the roots of the largest tree
Over the strongest wind I scream of love between him and me


He’s the reason my world turns, my winter, my spring, summer and fall
And no matter the time of day I’d come running if he should call
He lights me on fire and cools me down, lifts me up and holds me too
He’s my entire world and all it’s created by is the love between us two

I Miss You



He lies awake at night and wonders will life be the same?
Maybe he’ll wake up tomorrow and see her beautiful smile
Or maybe he’ll never wake up tomorrow at all to feel the pain of a broken heart
Shattered dreams and long lost memories of love now torn apart


I’ll be yours forever, she said, as her train started rolling away
No matter how hard he tries he just cant seem to forget that day
The tears keep coming like a rainstorm to wash away the pain inside
But the hurting just wont stop no matter how many tears he cried


Waiting each day for the postman to deliver a letter he’ll never receive
Every time he looks at her picture he hates himself for letting her leave
Years go by and he keeps on hoping maybe she’ll show up at his door
He holds onto faith, still thinking that she’ll be in his arms once more


But time slips away and his hair turns all gray and still he’s all alone
Yet he never gives in to despair waiting for her to call on the phone
He lies awake at night and wonders is she thinking about him too
As he finally closes his eyes he gives up and whispers “I miss you”

Lost



I'll take the touch of his lips, she said
I'll take the touch of his hair
But all she has is a photograph of an unsuspecting stare
So she pins it up by the lampposts
And tells herself he's lost;
For this is the price of destruction;
This is the hell of the cost.


We cannot forget our loved ones
We do not forget our friends
Till time itself be over and every friendship ends
I will always hold on to hope she says,
And never give in to despair.
But she misses the touch of his lips, his smile,
She misses the smell of his hair.

Love’s Last Stand



As I hold you tight
Together at night
So close I can count the beats of your heart
The stars shine so bright
Your hair in moonlight
What a perfect way for our end to start
Cuz something aint right
We're starting to fight
You’re next to me but we're so far apart


Where did we go so wrong
Our love just felt so strong
Then suddenly it just all slipped away
You are where I belong
Our love will last for so long
Now we'll be lucky if we last one more day
I'll sing any song
Cant we just get along
What can I do to convince u to stay


I won’t tell you goodbye
I don’t want you to cry
What can I do to win back your love
We can't let this thing die
We'll get through if we try
A million prayers I’ve sent up above
With one last sad sigh
And a tear in your eye
You turn around and fly away like a dove


I can change you’ll see
If time would just stop for me
Although it slips through my fingers like sand
Like a ship out at sea
You sailed away free
But this world is round you'll sail back like I planned
This is my final plea
Just don’t give up on me
I'll give it my all this is our love's last stand

Mama Said



Mama said girl take it slow, you don’t know a thing about love
Cuz love just isn’t fairy tales with stars that fall from above
But I swear the stars have fallen, and landed in my eyes
Cuz I’ve fallen deeply in love with you and its no big surprise


Papa said girl don’t be dumb, you can’t fall in love at first sight
Cuz love just isn’t like fairy tales with walks on beaches by moonlight
But I swear I knew instantly that you’re the only one for me
Cuz I knew we could spend forever alone, taking walks out by the sea


Grandma said girl don’t be a fool you can’t just give your heart away
Cuz love just isn’t fairy tales with perfect weather every day
But I swear my heart is always yours no matter what the weather
Cuz we'll get through any storms and live happily together forever


My mind is saying girl just hold on, you can’t get hurt if you don’t try
Cuz love just isn’t like fairy tales, with boys that never make you cry
But I swear I know I wont get hurt, and that this love is real
Cuz any tears in my eyes are from all the joy and love I feel


My heart is saying girl give it a try, he just might be the one
Cuz love just might be a fairy tale, and yours has only just begun
And I swear no matter what others say, I know my heart speaks true
Cuz you’re my perfect prince and I’ll always be in love with you

My Hearts Eulogy



How can this be, I’m here all alone
What can I say to make u come home
I can’t sleep at night now that your gone
I miss hearing your voice on the phone


I pray you’ll come back, show me where I went wrong
I can’t lose you so fast after loving you for so long
I’ll change my attitude until we both can get along
I’m trying to say I’m sorry and I hope u hear this song


My eyes are hurting from all the tears that I’ve cried
My heart is breaking from all the pain I feel inside
My mind is wondering why u left after all that I tried
I said id be just fine without you but u know that I lied


So now as I look back at our life’s history
It seems as if I’m reading the saddest love story
A tale about you and me split apart by destiny
my heart is wandering like a ship lost out at sea


And as I stare at the waves suddenly it dawns on me
That quite possibly, our love was never meant to be
And by cupid’s cruelty, my heart will never be set free
So resigned to fate I crawl inside the coffin they’ll bury


Time will march on and ill become another sad story
A long lost tale that’s carried on in a hurt girl’s memory
And an unmarked grave that nobody ever comes to see
Just another plot under the shade of a solitary tree

Will You Be There



He cries on my shoulder and there’s nothing I can say
I can’t reach his heart but I can still wipe his tears away
Sometimes it gets hard to smile in this world we’ve made
All I can do is hold him close and show him that I’m not afraid


I tell him until tomorrow comes I’ll be holding him so tight
Through the pain and tears until we make it through the night
Even if sometimes you fall I’ll be right there to help you stand
You know I’ll be there when you call always to hold your hand


I’ll be there to make you smile when all you need is a friend
Even if you never feel the same I’ll still love you until the end
Cuz I don’t think that anything would be as bad as losing you
I act so strong but that’s one thing I could not go through


So please just know I’m here for you and I’ll never leave your side
I’ll still be here when times get bad and all others ran away to hide
Holding on to hope that one day you’ll open your eyes and see
That now and forever I’ll be there for you if you’ll be there for me
