Waya walked in and blanched. "It's Barbie's dream house..." She said, frowning.
"
Whaaat? I hope you mean the modern Barbie."
Penelope said. "Besides- the color scheme is 'lush lavender'..not 80s glam pink. Come on now."
"Yeah well..."
Waya began. "I don't know why you have to be surrounded in white leather and lavender any way."
"Because...it'
s a very 'in' color this year?" Penelope said, not sure what to tell Waya right now.
Waya lifted her eyebrow. "It seems unnecessary is all."
"Of course it is. Did you see the cream color that was on these walls previously? Ick. This is much nicer." Penelope said, "Let me get my sewing kit." she said and crawled halfway under her bed.
"Penelope..." Waya said, shaking the little kit she brought from downstairs. "Flux material remember."
"Oh-" she pulled herself out, "Does that have scissors and needles?"
Waya opened itand checked. "Yeah."
"Well why didn't you say so." Penelope smiled and stood back up. She went to a small desk and pulled out a pencil before coming back. "Il mark out where to cut first." she said, "Oh- I should put on some music first."
"None of your hip hop stuff please." Waya said. "I don't think I can take it right now."
"I don't much care for hip hop either." Penelope said and picked up an ipod and remote. She flipped on the stereo and flipped through some albums. "What are you feeling? I know you tend to like the slower, songwriter stuff, right?"
Waya frowned. "No ballads... not right now... Something old and something heavy."
Penelope hummed and started her player. A strummed guitar came on and Johnny Cash's voice grew into the room. "This ok?"
Penlope apparently didn't know the definition of a ballad, but no one said no to Jhonny Cash. It actually surprised Waya. "You listen to Jojnny Cash?"
"I listen to just about everything." Penelope admitted. "But I find faster paced, pop songs are easier to manipulate sound waves from. So- I was thinking... could I have a favor for fixing up your suit?"
"What kind of favor?" Waya asked.
"For you to actually use the birthday gift I got you." Penelope replied, penciling in the design on her side.
"Yeah..." Waya said softly. "I duno, Pen... How do you even know I can carry a note?"
"A little bird told me...." Penelope said with a smirk as she drew on the front of Waya's chest, then to the other side. "Plus your Kurt Smith's daughter, so you must automatically have some musical skill in you."
Waya's expression was a little stiff. Not many people knew her mom could sing too. She only sang for Kurt though. "I know you're trying to help or be friendly or... something but... I don't sing... not any more..."
"May I ask why?" Penelope asked, "I know it's not for everyone, but for those who can at least hold a tune, it's comforting...relaxing even. Why refuse it?"
"I have to feel like it..." Waya said.
"It might help is all I am saying." Penelope said, not wanting to seem like she was attacking Waya. She knelt and began drawing on the tops of her feet.
Waya didn't feel as if she were being attacked. She just felt... exposed and she didn't like that feeling at all. "Did you ever..." Waya faltered and frowned at herself. "Never mind...."
"Try me." Penelope insisted, "I'm your bloody tailor now, you can tell me anything."
"When you were in the Mojoverse..." Waya began. "Did you ever imagine what your mother felt, not being able to find you?"
"Every hour of every day I was there, yes." Penelope said, "To make it worse, we had been fighting before I was taken. I was so scared that she thought I had just up and ran away."
"I fought with Mom that morning too..." Waya said. "And Dad tried to mediate and I ended up yelling at him too... But how your mom felt is how I feel.. There's nothing to sing about till I find them..."
"Well...I hope that will come tomorrow." Penelope said, looking at the two feet. They looked even and she stood up. Opening the little kit, she plucked out a pair of scissors. "You can take that off now."
"I left my clothes downstairs..." Waya said, not wanting to just get naked in front of Penelope.
"Or... keep it on. I can work with this. You can sit on the bed now." Penelope said and gestured to the mattress.
"If you have a t-shirt or something I can just put that on." Waya told her.
"Well it's up to you." Penelope said and walked over to her closet. She opened the doors wide and exposed an array of different ensembles. "I've been itching to dress you up..."
"A t-shirt is fine." Waya said. "I'm not a doll..."
"No, you are a buzzkill." Penelope said and reluctantly grabbed a band tee from her dresser and handed it to her.
Waya didn't disagree and slipped the shirt over her head before slipping out of the uniform. It became obvious that the t-shirt was too small for her and stretched way too tight across her chest.
"Bloody christ Waya... you have a huge rack." Penelope admired, tilting her head "And you're so thin... that's impressive. "
Waya hadn't exactly been eating much since the incident she wouldn't tell Penelope about. "Doesn't sound so much like a compliment." She said, slipping her feet free. She handed the uniform to Penelope "At least you have an ass."
"I would rather have a nice rack than a big butt." Penelope told her, "There are countless outfits I wish I could have bought but my chest never filled out the front. I have a few in my closet that you could probably have actually."
"I've got some band shirts from before these things happened." Waya said, indicating her breasts. "They might fit."
Penelope laughed, "Deal." She began threading the needle with her suit on her lap as she sat on the bed, "I have a certain dinner party gown in mind that I think your boyfriend would go nuts for."
"Rhydian isnt..." Waya sat down on the leather love seat with her legs crossed. "Fuck it... yeah I guess he is..."
Penelope began cutting out the holes on the top of her suit, careful to give herself slack to sew later. "Well geez... you don't sound happy about it."
"You try balancing a relationship on top of the shit I deal with every day..." Waya said. "Rhydian is sweet... an patient to a fault..."
"I've heard some rumors..." Penelope began carefully, "Is it true everyone has pretty much slept with everyone here?"
"No." Waya said. "It isn't..." She sounded a little offended. "I think Junior and Jeremy had a one night stand once. I've not been with Rhydian and the Twins..." She frowned and Penelope could see something in her expression that she didn't want to say. "The twins business is their own. As for everyone else, I duno... But whoever said that is a damn liar."
Penelope blanched, "Junior slept with Jeremy?!" She had no idea her half brother/uncle/whatever was bi.
"I said I think." Waya said. "And it was a long time ago. After he came back from California."
"I'll have to give him shit about that later." Penelope smiled as she cut away another diamond. "Jayden and Jaden seemed pretty pissed at the meeting... what the hell is up with that? They seemed to be the only ones seriously outraged at the concept of saving your parents."
"They don't think they're still alive..." Waya said. "Honestly, sometimes I wonder if they're right..."
"Well... I would find that hard to accept. The X-men are pretty badass. Even if we don't know the outcome, it's best to at least try...or live your live knowing that you could have found out the truth, but didn't." Penelope said wisely.
"Yah..." Waya agreed. "Thanks by the way... I know you want to find Will, but other than that you dont really have an investment in this. It means a lot that you've decided to come."
Penelope glanced up from her work and smiled at her, "It might be good to have all the help you can get in there." Her smile widened, "Considering what I did to you in the arena, you'll need me." She was of course teasing her about their little battle together, "There is no harm in having an extra leg to stand on."
Waya frowned at her. "As I recall you were streaming in terror when you did that." She told her. "I don't exactly call that a conscious decision on your part."
"Hey man.. I gave you a warning." Penelope said, "Slugs are..." she shivered, "Not cool, Waya..not cool."
"Leaches." Waya said. "And why are you afraid of them? All they do is suck the impurities out of your blood?"
"All those little grinding teeth... stuck on your skin so much you have to yank them off." she shook her head, "No thank you."
Waya smirked. "Well, I don't often attack with fear." She said. "Dad refused to use it, so I don't know much about tht ability. I might have gotten a little carried away. Sorry."
"Hey- what's done is done. I'm just glad you pulled a lizard and grew your legs back." Penelope said.
"Didn't exactly grow them back." Waya said. "I don't know if I can do that actually. A finger yeah, maybe a hand." Penelope had basically held Waya together, making her recovery possible.
"Don't worry... I don't do anything like that again. At least- not to any of my friends." Penelope said.
"I'd hope not." Waya said. "So... if you grew up on a silver platter, how is it you know how to sew?"
Penelope stopped her work, sat up and gestured to herself. In a proper, over-civil tone, she recited, "A proper lady knows etiquette, manners and above all, how to perform meaningless tasks....like sewing." At the end, she let the acting trail off. "Boarding school."
"Oh, rich girl robot camp." Waya said. "I get it."
Penelope nodded with a smirk and went back to her task.
"So how is it you grew up in Rich girl robot camp and still have a South London accent?" Waya asked. "Don't they teach you how to talk in those places?"
"Heh... well I uh... didn't exactly graduate from boarding school." Penelope smiled, as if recalling something funny.
Waya smirked. "Oh?" She asked, waiting for him to go on.
"Heh- yeah... there was this group of girls, total snobby bitches, right? Always bullying people 'below' them.. the whole bit. Well.. they had a little 'haunting' for a good two weeks in their dorms." Penelope explained with a proud grin. "They were complete wrecks... it was glorious and one girl even locked herself in the bathroom for a while. Unfortunately, I got caught and as it turn's out, Courtney's Dad is the school's chairman. Oops." she shrugged, then added, "Totally worth it."
Waya smiled. "Nice. They sound like they deserved it. I never got to do anything like that. Being raised here I always had to be a good example to the other students."
Penelope tied a knot and began on another patch. "Well that's no fun. Say- how about when we get back, we pull a prank on someone. Harmless of course... maybe.. your boyfriend?"
"I duno..." She said. "That's not really my thing..."
"What is your thing? Honestly. Humor me here." Penelope said, "I still feel like I don't know anything about you."
"I spend most of my time working on reconstructing a danger room simulation of what happened." She said. "Rhydian and I used the danger room to go to the movies once... Other than that..." She shrugged. "Junior ratted me out about music..."
"Yup." Penelope confirmed, "How can you not have any hobbies? Surey there is something."
"I spend all my time downstairs." She said. "But I used to draw and play guitar... stuff like that. I still play sometimes... I use my headphones though."
"That's better at least." Penelope said. "Everyone needs some sort of media to create or vent ...or whatever. Otherwise you end up a tightly wound twat. No body likes that, you know?" Penelope knotted and moved to the other hole in the front.
"I know I'm tightly wound..." Waya said. "You don't have to be subtle about it. Everyone thinks I'm a first class cunt."
"A cunt? Noooo no. You aren't a cunt. The baddest bitch? Quite." Penelope said and began sewing some more.
"And that's any better?" She asked.
"Much better." Penelope said with a smirk, extending her arms with the needle with every stitch so it was good and tight.
Wayaa crossed her legs and watched her. "Is there anything I can dovto help?"
"Unless you know how to sew, not really. It's alright...it just takes a while. I want to make sure I don't rush it and your suit falls apart. If you don't want to wait anymore, I could drop this off for you later. Should only be about an hour."
"No, I can;t do that." Waya said. "The least I can do is keep you company."
"Appreciated." Penelope said, still working around the front of the suit.
"I guess... if you wanted... I could go get my guitar..." Waya said, figuring Penelope deserved something in return for all her hard work.
"Ohh... I like that. Please do." Penelope said, smiling up at her.
Waya pulled the shadow out from under the loveseat and came back a moment later with her guitar and amp. "Where can I plug this in at?"
"There is an outlet behind that little end table to your right." Penelope said, working on her feet now. Pausing a moment, she turned off the ipod, then continued.
Waya plugged in and sat down. She nearly put on her headphones by reflex, but pulled the plug instead. There was a quick "SKCH" sound that made her wince and to cover she played the beginning of Nothing else Matters by Metallica as if warming up.
"Oh that's nice." Penelope said, closing her eyes a moment before snapping out of it to do her work again.
Remarably, Waya began to sing. "So close no matter how far... Couldn't be much more from the heart... Forever trust in who we are... And nothing else matters..." She refused to look at Penelope as she did.
Her voice was very charming. Ill-practiced, but nontheless adorable and surprisingly soft. Not what she expected. Penelope siad nothing, not wanting to disrupt and kept working.
She knew Penelope didn't expect it, but she was helping Waya and she figured after all Penelope's badgering, she deserved to hear her sing. "Never opened myself this way... Life is ours, we live it our way... All these words I don't just say... And nothing else matters."
Penelope glanced at her a few times. She had such spirit in her song. It was lovely and brought s smile to her face despite never much caring for Metallica.
Waya didn't care much for Metallica either, but it was an easy song to play and one of the few songs of theirs that she did happen to like. "Trust I seek and I find in you... Every day for us something new... Open mind for a different view... And nothing else matters." As she came to the chorus she didn't let loose with her voice, but Penelope heard that she could have had she wanted to. She held herself back as if she didn't want anyone else to know what she was up to. "Never cared for what they do! ... Never cared for what they know! ... But I know..."
Penelope adjusted how she was sitting on the bed and made short work of the sewing of the feet holes. It was tedious, but thankfully not difficult. She listened peacefully to Waya's voice, hearing faintly her father in her.
Waya finished the song, wishing she'd chosen something shorter. She let the music fall away and sat quiet for a moment, not sure what to do.
"That was great. You have a beautiful voice, my friend." Penelope said. "Thank you for caving. I'm glad I got to hear you. But you know... now you really have to use the birthday gift I gave you."
Waya smirked, but didn't commit. "Any requests?"
"Do you know 'Stairway to Heaven?'" asked Penelope, figuring that song might be in her arsenal.
"Do I know Stairway to Heaven..." Waya smirked and began to play the intro.
"Think you could up the tempo a little? I have an idea." Penelope said.
"One sec..." Waya frowned and watched her left hand as she moved into the heavier part of the bridge near the end where the song got good. She was used to playing things all the way through and there was a little hiccup as she fast forwarded to the end.
Penelope got up and stole a hanger from her closet. Placing it inside of the x-suit she then hung it on the corner of her bed canopy.
Waya didn't sing this one, but she played for Penelope, grateful for her help with her uniform.
"It's always nicer to manipulate real sound waves over stereo ones." Penelope said and made gentle movements with her arms. The needle and thread lifted off of the bed and as each string was plucked, it shot through the fabric, sewing itself.
"Woah..." Waya said, watching Penelope manipulate the energy through the needle. "I'll step it up a notch then." And moved onto a little of her favorite, the Who. People ragged on Pete Townsend not being a good lead guitarist, but the music spoke to her and she played the solo to Who are You.
Penelope smiled, "Better." and Waya noticed how the needle and thread moved at a much faster speed now, tripling productivity compared to when she was using her hands.
"Nice..." Waya said. "So what else do you do other than this and slice people's legs off?"
"Anything really." Penelope said, finding it hard to be modest. "The louder, the better. Which is why I would like to somehow place speakers on my belt if possible. I can feel the sound waves and direct them to my liking. Mom said that I convert the waves into a more malleable energy that I can control. Junior said that his Dad works with energy so... I wonder if I got that from him." she shrugged, "Usually I divert the waves into 'energy arms'... extensions of my own." she paused and gestured toward Waya. She could see teh energy 'arms' that appeared as wisps. They were clear...but able to be seen, like looking through a glass.
"That's exactly where you got it from..." Waya said, watching her hands as she played. "Like my shadow abilities I got from Dad, but I'm feral and work best with animal constructs because Mom was feral and a shape shifter... She was in one of Dad's videos... Once... the video was great but she hater the experience of filming it."
"Not sure what I got from Mom... if anything. She hates loud noises." Penelope said.
"Your mother had heightened senses and agility with a dash of super strength didn't she?" Waya asked. "Maybe you have acute hearing since you work so well with sound. Maybe it's just selective to music."
"Well... I mean I can manipulate any sound. The cheer of a crowd did wonders for me in the arena for example. Music is just...well...it's more fun, you know? Besides I can use my own voice."
"Ok..." Waya said. "Maybe you didn't get anything from your mother. It happens. The twins don't have anything from their parents... Though they are extremelyu fire resistant."
"As far as the skin color and hair... I have no idea. Junior is red so maybe that's also from Will's side." Penelope had William's eyes though.
"Definatly." Waya said. "His aunt is gray with fur."
"That is one strange family gene pool." Penelope said, but smiled inwardly, somewhat pleased to be part of it.
Waya smiled. "Jayn, the twins' dad. Fire for hair."
"I wonder what their parents are like." Penelope wondered. Come to think of it...would they parents be...her grandparents? She did not know they were dead.
"They were human." Waya said. "They died in a fire when Will and them were younger."
"Well I would like to think they were human. Aren't you human?" Penelope asked, even though she knew what Waya had meant.
"Homosapien verses homosuperior I mean." Waya told her.
"Right." Penelope smiled and tied the last knot. Placing them into the kit, she took the uniform off of her bed canopy and showed it to Waya, "Done and done."
Waya quit playing and put the guitar aside. "Should I try it on?" She ased
"Obviously." Penelope smiled and handed it to her. "Don't worry, I won't look." she said and left to gather some outfits from her closet to give to her.
"Thanks..." She said, standing. "I didn't used to be this modest..." She took the uniform from Penelope.
"What happened?" Penelope asked, fingering through her things.
Waya had said she didn't want to talk about it, but she decided to let go of the burden any way. "I was... raped..." She said with her back to Penelope. She thought telling someone who didn't already know would be therapeutic, but she just felt sick.
Penelope froze where she was at the closet, unbelieving what she had just heard. "I'm sorry... did... you kill him?" Waya was powerful and lethal... surely she got her revenge.
"No..." Waya said, slipping into the uniform. "It was... it's complicated. I don't blame him for what happened... We were attacked by... Eliza's half brother. Rex... He can create temporary alternate realities. In mine there was... George... It was only hours but for me it went on for months... It wasn't George's fault... it was Rex..."
"Jesus..." Penelope said and turned around with a handful of gowns and ensembles. "That's awful, I'm sorry... how are you doing after all that?"
"How do you think?" Waya asked. "George doesn't have the same body any more and Rhydian worked on his central processor, but... He still did it... you know? Sometimes he looks at me and I wonder if he wants to do it again... It's my fault he even exists. If I hadn't taken him out of that reality and into this one... Still... I have to look at him every day... Don't tell anyone. Please? Junior, Jeremy and the twins know, they were there after... but I've not told Rhydian... I don't think he would take it well."
"I imagine not." Penelope said, placing the outfits on the bed. The mood in the room had gone down about ten notches after her confession, "I won't say anything, promise."
"Well..." Waya said, turning around now that she was dressed. She sounded almost as if the last five minutes had happened. "How's it look?"
"Pretty hot... and damn, look at that handiwork." Penelople mused, complimenting herself. "How do you feel?"
Waya went to the mirror and looked at herself. She felt... secure. Not hanging out all over the place. It was different, but not so drastic a change that people might question her new choice of clothing.
"Well?" she inquired with a smirk, pleased at herself.
"I like it." Waya said. "A lot... it's sexy without being... showey." She nodded. "It's really good, Pen... Thank you..."
"You're very welcome. Now I just have to think about something for my suit..." Penelope hummed, "Though I think getting speakers on it is a bit more important right now. Oh- hey... take these with you." she said and gestured to a small pile of clothes.
"The ones that don't quite fit?" She asked, looking at the clothes. "Thanks... Can I help you with yours? Maybe pin it or something? I could mark it where you need to take it in..."
Penelope wasn't sure if Waya wanted to still hang out with her or if she was just trying to be nice. "You don't have to if you don't want. I wouldn't mind you hanging out for a bit, but it's up to you."
"I could at least pay for you while you sew." She said. "I don't mind.
Pen smiled. She obviously was enjoying playing for her. "That would be great, love. Thank you. And yes, I think if you pinned the proper areas, I could make quick work of my suit."
"Well get it on and I'll see if one of these fits..." She began to strip out of her uniform with her back turned to Penelope.
Penelope stripped into hers while Waya's back was turned and when she turned around, she was dressed in her funny-fitted suit. "The shoulders need to be taken in, that's for sure."
"Will was never too broad in the shoulder..." Waya said. "Or tall... They always said he was built more like their mom's side of the family and Jayn like their dad. Where Lyra got the tail and anthromorphic legs from no one knows..." She turned around wearing a light blue dress that looked better on a girl with an actual complexion.
"Aw see? You look adorable. I look like bloody crap in that thing. I insist you take it."
"This is like when white girls wear nude colors, Pen..." Waya said, looking at herself. "I think Im too blue already..."
"A secondary color might help though." she noted. "Oh like a yellow scarf and matching boots." Penelope beamed.
"Oh god, no, no keep yellow as far from me as possible." She said. "Looks green every time."
"Just trying to add some contrast. White could probably look nice against all the blue too."
Waya was already white with blue undertones. "Let's just get this thing pinned into place..." She said, picking up the pin cushion.
"I will say you are probably easier to dress than I am. Bright magenta skin and white hair? Try that on for size." Penelope argued, "Though I was thinking about dying my hair black."
"Black is nice." Waya said. "But when your white started showing through I think you'll look old..."
"Of bollocks... I hadn't thought of that bit." Penelope said with annoyance as Waya pinned her suit in places.
Waya rounded off her shoulders and pinned in the sides. Mostly it just needed a couple inches here and there. "I hope I'm doing this right." She said.
"That's just fine. I can work with that." Penelope said with a smile at her pins. "Mine won't take as long as yours did either."
"Right." She said. "I think that's it... you're gonna stick yourself trying to get out though. I might be able to teleport you out..."
"Oh... uhh... if it's no trouble." Penelope siad, but sounded a bit apprehensive.
"I'll turn out the lights. It'll be easier." She flicked off the switch. "Separating people from clothes is tricky." She placed her hand on the back of Pen's neck and the other on the front of the suit. For a few seconds Penelope saw the lackness of Waya's shadow realm before standing in her bedroom again, mostly naked.
"Woah!" Penelope gasped and wrapped her arms around her chest, discovering herself lacking the suit, "That is so awesome!"
"Yeah, I'm kinda badass." Waya said with a smirk. "Here." She offered her her new suit while averting her eyes a little since she could see in the dark.
"What? Oh... thanks." Pen said upon feeling the fabric. "I need light though." and flicked the switch. Setting her suit on the sofa, she grabbed her clothes and got dressed again. "What was that called? A shadow pocket or something?"
"You've been in the shadow realm before." She said. "I don't put people in my shadow cache."
"There is a difference?" she asked.
"Yeah." She said. "I can use small shadows to pull stuff out and put stiff into the cache. The realm I can actually use to travel."
"And you said something about turning into animals, right? Or...was it controlling animals like the leeches?" Penelope asked, sitting on the sofa now with her needle, thread and suit.
"Manifest animal constructs." She said and took Penelope's shadow, making an almost perfect Labrador retriever. It's tongue was black and it's eyes reflected no light, but it's tongue lolled and it jumped, putting it' paws on her belly. The weight of it was very real.
"Double woah!" she exclaimed and happily grabbed the dog's head and itched it behind the ears. "You can do so many things! I'm impressed."
She shrugged. "Yeah, I can shadow lick a bad guy to death." She said. "I'm beginning to learn how to do proper constructs. More than just shields and stuff."
"What about dinosaurs?" Penelope asked.
"I've never met a dinosaur." Waya said. "Well, Mom could turn into a few that she'd encountered in the Savage Land, but I have to be around an actual one in order to imprint it so I can make it. Mom was like that, she had to kinda connect to the animal before she could shift into one.
"Intriguing..." Penelope said and began snipping away excess fabric. "You have a useful mutation."
"It' useful when you factor in the teleportation and cache." She said. "Sometimes the animals work but not all the time."
"The light sensitivity is a bitch I bet though." Penelope assumed.
"You have no idea." She said. "Though artificial light is worse... night vision is a pretty sweet trde off though."
"I've yet to be in a situation without sound waves. it's just... not something that happens." Penelope said.
"My room blocks sound." She said. "And there's a sensory deprivation room somewhere. If you wanted to see what it's lie."
"There are always sound waves." she said, not convinced. "You can make them...it's simple."
"Not in the deprivation room." Waya said. "But in mine, with all the electronics off, it can sometimes get creepy.
"What? But...what about your voice?" Penelope asked, not realizing that the sound waves would not bounce off of the walls.
"I don't talk to myself." She said. "Well, not often."
"I'm not convinced about this silent room of yours." Penelope said concerning the room as she sewed on, "Maybe you just dont like to admit my mutation as no weakness." she taunted.
"I'll show you when we're done." Waya said. "Mine isn't as bad as the deprivation room though."
"What the hell is the point of a deprivation room?" Pen asked.
"There was a student who could sense people's emotions." Waya said. "Sometimes she got out of control or just too exhausted with it. She could go in there and shut off without using a neural inhibitor."
"Is it in the basement?" Pen asked.
"It should be on this level." Waya said. "Or maye a floor below."
"I'll make note to avoid it." Pen siad and knotted her strand.
"How's it coming?"
"Just one second." Penelope said and adjusted the other side. It was quick, though not as fast compared to when she had been using her mutation, "Done."
Waya put her guitar down and turned her back so she could get dressed. "Let's see it."
Penelope changed and in doing so, said, "Too back you cant teleport me into it. There.. done. Ta-da...."
"That looks really nice." Waya said. "You can't even tell it was Will's before... well, kinda, but it doesn't look like it wasn't meant for a woman." It didn't have the designated breast area, but then again Pen didn't really need it.
"You said this wasn't his... same design, but not his his.." Pen said.
"No, I said it was one of his spares." Waya told her. "All the basic replacement uniforms look pretty much the same, apart from color. He was a full on X-Man, only they and Junior X-men got to customize their uniforms."
"Well I'm not going to wait for that." Penelope said, "I need those speakers."
"We'll get you speakers, relax." Waya told her.
Pen eyed herself in her mirror and smiled, "Looks good. I like it."
"I agree." She said "now change so we can go het your speakers."
"I want to wear it out." Penelope said.
"Oh, ok..." Ways said. She realized she was wearing pen's dress. She didn't want to change and make her feel bad.
"Did you want to come with or..... " she let the question hang.
"I don't mind." She said. "I'm sure we'll find George downstairs."
Penelope smiled and opened the door for Waya, "You can come back for the dresses later. Or put them in your shadow pocket thing."
"Cache." Waya said and swiped her arm over them. The shadow of the couch darkened to black over the dresses and when it disapatedm they were gone. "Now I just gotta remember to take them back out again. I think I left a kitten in there once when I was a kid..."
"Uh... jeez.. did you ever find it?" Penelope asked with a frown.
"I um... plead the fifth." Waya said with a wince, holding the door open for her.
(gonna msg evo and find out where george got to.
