The twins ran in and burst open the cupboards.
"Tomatoes...to
matoes.." Jaden of them was muttering, while digging in the fridge.
"Crap! We better have all the right stuff in here!" Jayden said, still in the cupboards. He took out a loaf of white bread, "Does she like white?"
Jaden looked at him blankly, "Shit! I don't know!" He pulled out the only tomatoes that were in the fridge and washed them in the sink. "I just hope she likes it."
"Maybe if it sucks, we can say that...that...the bots messed it up?"
"But they have been off all this time!"
"Gah....I don't know..."
Jayden put two slices of bread on the counter, "Wait a second...WHAT THE HELL IS MUTTON?!"
Jaden looked equally as dumbfounded, "I....don't know. Is it a type of jam or something?" He finished slicing the tomatoes and placed them perfectly on the bread.
"Wait..." Jayden stopped, "Didn't she say that she liked it 'lean'? That would make it a meat right?"
"I guess so?" Jaden assumed with him before washing off lettuce from the fridge. "Wait, there was a dictionary out in the rec room."
With that, Jayden ran out and snatched it. He came back no more then forty seconds later with it open. "Lamb."
"Lamb? Do we cook it?"
"I think so." Jayden said, turning on the oven and placing a pan on it. "But where is lamb stored in a kitchen?"
They looked at each other, "Freezer!" Jayden opened the freezer door and explored it up and down before finally taking out a slab of meat. Jaden on the other hand was putting the sandwich together.
About twenty minutes passed as the meat cooked. When finally done, they put the sandwich together perfectly and cut it neatly on a clean, white plate. "Perfect." they said at once. They both ran out to the danger room.
Rhydian had been there for an hour before dawn broke however. He was hard at work, picking just the right ingredients to make breakfast for Waya. This would be their first official date after all, and he wanted to make sure he got everything just right. He was nervous as hell and he really wished that the robotic hosts were online. He never was a whiz at the kitchen. For the most part though, he could whip up a mean breakfast. He decided he'd start easy and make some scrambled eggs. He added to it by throwing bacon on the pan next to that. While they were both cooking he started chopping potatoes and onions really quickly, getting a helping hand from the knives themselves, bringing them to life to cut faster. He would make home fries. He took the loaf of bread from the fridge and threw a few slices into the toaster.
Waya shadow-ported into the kitchen and saw Rhydian. "Hey." She said
"Waya!" Rhydian exclaimed, her shadow porting startled him and the knives returned to normal. "You're...you're early!"
"Cut me some slack." Waya said "I've been yup for hours. I got restless."
"How many hours? I've been here trying to cook you some breakfast since 8am..." Rhydian told her and exclaimed when he suddenly remember he had to flip the bacon and eggs. He reached out with his powers and the spatulas and frying pans came to life and flipped themselves over.
"I've been up since 5." Waya said sitting down at the island.
"Well the good news is, the food's almost done." Rhydian told her with a smile. "Scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. Is that alright?" He asked her as the toast popped up from the toaster. He walked over and put it down on a plate and grabbed a knife and butter, spreading it lightly over the toast.
"That's fine." Waya said and had a thought "Did you put onions in the eggs?"
"Only a little bit. I'm not really too big on them. But they do give a nice flavor to the eggs." Rhydian informed her with a nod, hoping she didn't mind the onions
"Oh no that's cool." Waya said "I prefer em."
"Good to know." Rhydian said with a smile as he made the pans flip the eggs onto animated plates. He brought forth the silverware from the drawer and had them deliver themselves to the table. "Shall we?"
"We shall." Waya said sliding her plate towards her.
Rhydian smiled again, sitting down across from her. "I hope it all tastes good..."
Waya took a bite of eggs, bacon and toast all at once. She paused in complete bliss "Better than the twin's that's for sure."
"That's because they don't know how to cook." Rhydian told her with a wink. "They know how to make food. There's a big difference." He scooped some eggs onto a piece of toast and put a piece of bacon on top, making a primitive breakfast sandwich
"Agreed." Waya said mentally reminding herself to slow down as she ate. She had a tendency to rush usually. Try to finish quickly if anything happened.
"Why do you rush through meals, Waya?" Rhydian asked her curiously as he munched on his sandwich
"It's part of the field training I did with Uncle Logan." Waya explained trying her best to steer away from his memory "You eat fast just because you have to hurry. You never know if anything is going to happen."
"Oh. Well you know that's a great way to give yourself the hiccups." Rhydian pointed out with a smirk. "Take your time though, the only thing we have after this is the danger room session."
"This is me eating slow..." Waya said looking at him.
"Alright." Rhydian said with a smile. "So how's breakfast?"
"Awesome>" Waya replied through a mouth full of bacon.
Rhydian beamed with appreciation. "I'm glad. You know, I could probably make the breakfast like every morning, if you want."
"We should take turns." Waya said "Considering this might become a habit."
"I suppose. But breakfast really is my specialty. I'm not sure if I could could something for lunch or dinner or anything like that." Rhydian explained to her. He was really quite proud of his breakfast making abilities. "So what is it that you can make for breakfast Waya?"
"Well I can make this." She said indicating the meal they were already enjoying and taking a bite then continued, "Pancakes, waffles, biscuit's and gravy, egg sandwiches, hashbrowns, doughnuts, cereal naturally... and any run of the mill toaster strudel kinda thing that comes from a box."
"Oh cool. So do you do lunch or dinner too?" Rhydian asked her with a smirk, hopefully implying perfectly that he was thinking of maybe having lunch or dinner with her sometime.
"I can." Waya said munching on her toast
"Cool. We should...ummm...have dinner some time." Rhydian told her with a nervous smirk.
"Pushing your luck dont'cha think?" Waya said taking another bite
"What do you mean?" Rhydian asked her curiously. After all, they were dating, it was only natural that they have dates
"Nothing." Waya said. She was being cryptic just to annoy him
Rhydian looked at her, raising an eyebrow. "Why do you always have to be so cryptic?" He asked her with a smirk.
"Because I can." Waya Said "And quit stealing big words from my posts."
"Oh like I can really help it with the fact that you go and write down the better words?" Rhydian asked her with a smirk
(ooc: Pnel asked me to stop breaking the 4th wall. So no more out of character between the character. I realized I'd been doping it a lot lately.)
"What the hell are you talking about?" Waya said as she finished the last bites of her breakfast. She noticed that Rhydian was done also. She picked up the dishes and moved them to the sink. Which with the aid of advanced technology provided by one of Forge's many inventions the sink took the dishes from her and began washing them of it's own accord. "We ready?"
Rhydian got to his feet and nodded. "I suppose so. You don't think anyone else is gonna be at the Danger Room, do you?"
"Nah, by the time anyone gets the idea we'll already be down there." Waya said
Rhydian smiled. "Well then. Lead the way, Waya."
Waya walked to the back of the room where an elevator waited to take them to the lockers.
"Funny. I haven't noticed this elevator before..." Rhydian said a he joined her inside
