A rush of ctivity erupted in the infirmary as Lyra, Logan, Laura and Storm arrived with Hank, Scott, Emma and William. They where escorting Kurt and Delaney who where both unconscious. They weren't exactly too worried about Kurt. It was Delaney and her broken water they where worried about. Hank filled a syringe as Kurt was laid upon a bed. He handed it to Lyra who immediately injected Kurt's arm. It would work against the tranquilizer and bring Kurt around. He did the same to Delaney and waited for her to wake. Lyra was attending Kurt. everyone else set about activating the proper medical equipment for the ensuing procedure.

Tom had never been one to be left out of the action however; the moment Kurt and Delaney hit the tables he formed out of a puddle on the floor. "What's the problem?" he asked, dressed in a incredibly sterile water jacket.

"No offense Tom but," Hank said as he busied himself around the room. He pulled the large wooden splinter out of Delaney's shoulder and placed a sponge over it. It would heal on it's own. "Everyone needs to leave. Laura would you mind?"

Laura heeded Hank's order immediately and made sure to shoo everyone out of the room except Lyra. She escorted them to The Hall Outside the Infirmary

The drug injected into Delaney's arm acted more quickly due to her healing factor. Her eyes snapped open "Kurt!" She shouted and tried to raise up.

Hank acted quickly to keep Delaney pinned to the table. "He's fine, your in labor." Hank explained.

"I've got six more weeks!" Delaney shouted.

"I know, but this baby is coming and it's coming now. You need to stay calm." Hank soothed. "Is Kurt ready to come around yet?" He asked Lyra.

"Nearly." Lyra said, she was measuring his pulse, it was becoming steadily stronger.

Casey did not make an appearance. She detested birth in all its wonders and did not want to witness it at all.

Kurt groaned and sat up, rubbing his eyes. "Lyra? Wha...Del! Where's Del????"

Lyra pushed Kurt back down quickly. "Go into the shadow realm and heal. She's fine, your loosing blood."

Kurt looked at her sternly. "I don't care. Where's my wife?" He thrusted his arm out past Lyra and grabbed a shadow, pulling it into himself. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes briefly. "Besides, I don't have to go to the shadow realm anymore."

Hearing Kurt's voice Del called for him just as a contraction ripped threw her. "KURT!"

Kurt bounded off the hospital bed and quickly made his way to his wife's side. "I'm here." he whispered as he took her hand

Del found herself in the throws of another contraction as Kurt took her hand. She squeezed, forgetting her own strength. Her grip could crush someone's skull if she wanted it to.
Hank approached quickly. "Kurt her contractions are coming far too fast. We can't stop it now that her water has broken. The baby is coming now."
"Two centimeters Hank." Lyra said as she emerged from behind a curtain concealing Delaney's legs. "It's going to have to be a C-section."
"A what?" Del asked as she loosened her grip on Kurt's hand.
"That means we're going to have to operate to get the baby out." Hank said "It'll be quick but we can't put you out because of your healing factor. It's gonna hurt but it'll be fast."

Kurt winced as she crushed the bones in his hand. It hurt like hell, but it was nothing compared to what she was going through right now.

"Kurt your going to have to put this on." Lyra said handing him a set of scrubs wrapped in plastic.

"Kurt... I..." Del's face contorted for a moment in pain "Could you ask..." She didn't want to seem selfish but she wanted the most important people in her life with her at the moment. That meant Kurt, Logan and Laura but she didn't want to ask outright and seem selfish. This was their moment ad future parents. But honestly fear stole threw her and she wanted the three most strongest people in her life around her.

Kurt sighed, "Are you serious? You want that old fart in here to witness the birth of his great grand daughter?" he asked, transmitting it to Logan telepathically as well

Del couldn't believe it. She sat up on her elbows "Are you fucking serious?" She asked. Obviously the pain of early labor didn't help Kurt's insensitivity "We've been married four fucking years! You fucking did this to me NOW GO GET LOGAN AND LAURA!"

"I don't have to go anywhere to get them, Del." Kurt assured her with a gentle smile. She should have known by now that he just relayed the message to Logan. He kissed her on the forehead and spoke telepathically to both Logan and Laura. Del wants the both of you to be here for this, I'd suggest you get here quickly before she starts killing people...

"Why do you have to be an ass? Del asked threw her teeth as another contraction riped threw her.
Lyra handed Kurt two more sets of scrubs.
"Hurry Kurt, we have to do this quickly." Hank replied.

Kurt slipped into the scrubs and smirked at his wife. "Someone has to keep a cheerful attitude during this."

Logan and Laura entered together. "What's going on?" Logan asked as Lyra handed him the scrubs, he passed one to Laura.
"C-Section." Lyra answered, "We have to work quickly, she can;t have the baby naturally."

Five minuets later everyone was dressed in scrubs, gloves and bonnets. Kurt stood beside Del holding her hand, he belly was covered by a blue curtain. Logan and Laura stood near by. Hank was putting on his gloves as Lyra wheeled the tray of instruments to him. Both were on ether side of Del's belly. A monitor hung overhead to offer the spectators a view of what was going on.

Kurt gently stroked the back of Del's hand with his thumb. He placed his other hand on her cheek and smiled down at her, looking directly into her eyes. To him she had never looked more beautiful, despite the fact that nearly every bone in his hand got crushed each and every time she had a contraction.

Hank was just about ready to start but he had a better thought. "It may be prudent if you were to hold her down." He told Laura and Logan.

Unsteadily Logan and Laura did as Hank asked. They where sure not to muscle in on Kurt too much.
Lyra stood poised ready and waiting on the opposite side of Del.

Kurt leaned in close to his wife and wiped the sweat from her forehead, holding her hand up and kissing it softly

Hank worked as quickly and carefully as he could. The scalpel split the almond colored flesh of Delaney's stomach. As Hank gently held the wound open to prevent Del's healing factor from hindering their work Lyra's hands ventured inside.
Del held Kurt's hand tightly as Laura and Logan made sure she didn't move. It was indeed painful but as she watched the monitor the thought of any pain was washed away as she saw a tuft of black hair emerge pass the surgical cloth placed over her stomach. She could feel it as the baby was gently removed from her.
"Dad," Hank said addressing Kurt. "I need you over here." Hank held their child as Lyra offered Kurt a pair of scissors and pointed to where he should cut the cord.

Kurt took the scissors and slowly snipped the umbilical cord. He looked down at the little bundle of joy and smiled. She was beautiful

Lyra placed everything back in it's proper order and watched as Delaney's wound sealed seamlessly, healing it's self.
Logan and Laura both too their hands off her shou8lder
Del rose up immediately, trying to peek around the blue curtain. "Is he ok?" She asked "Is he ok?"

"She's fine." Kurt replied with a smile as he moved around the blue curtain, holding their daughter in his arms

Del held out her arms quickly, nearly snatching the infant from Kurt. She immediately began counting toes and fingers. Tears streamed down her face with their daughter began to cry.
"Hold her head." Logan whispered from the side of the bed. Laura stayed quiet, hardly blinking.

"If I didn't know better I'd say this baby is a month late rather than six weeks early." Hank said as he came into view. He held a stethoscope to the baby's chest. "It'll only take a minuet to do the tests but She sound's perfectly fine."

Lyra emerged, trying to squeeze between everyone. She held a small device. Positioning it over the baby a soft blue laser glowed across the infant's face and down her chest and legs. Lyra checked the device and announced "Perfectly healthy, she weighs 8 pounds 2 ounces. What's her name and I'll prepare the birth certificate?"

Del looked from her daughter to Kurt "We thought we had another month..." She looked down at her baby and tried to imagine what would suit her best.

Kurt placed his pointer finger in front of his daughter's hand, watching in awe as her tiny little fingers wrapped around his own. He smiled softly and without taking his eyes off his daughter. "Waya."

Del looked up at Kurt with surprise. She looked back down at their daughter who opened her eyes. Her irises where the same bright, vibrant cobalt blue as her mother's. The rest where black. She looked at Del, her eyes bright and wide like a three year old. "Waya..." Del said slowly, hardly having to convince herself.

Kurt smiled to Del. He had always felt bad for losing her mother int he shadow realm, even though he still hadn't given up looking for her. This was the least he could do...

"I'm going to go tell everyone that everything is fine." Lyra said exiting into the hall.

Del couldn't help but cry. So long they'd tried to have a child and now all she had to worry about was fucking up Waya's life. Compared to life as an X-Man, this part would be a breeze.

Kurt smiled at Del and wiped her tears away. He kissed her softly and pressed his forehead to her's

"Here." Del said handing their daughter to Kurt "I want out of this damn hospital."

Kurt took his daughter and held her close, chuckling softly. "You're not going anywhere yet hon. I don't care what kind of healing factor you've got."

"Actually everything has progressed normally." Hank said "She can go where she likes."

"See." Del said with a smile. "Besides, I'd like to see if I can wear my clothes again and I want to show everyone the baby."

"Thanks alot Hank." Kurt scoffed with a smirk. He looked at his wife and smiled softly. "If you want to show everyone, then why did you give our daughter to me?"

"Your coming with me." Del Said obviously "I'm not going to show her to everyone by my self."

"Naturally." Kurt told her and lifted his daughter up to give her a soft kiss on the forehead.

"Well?" Del asked with her hand on her hip. "Are we going or not?" She smiled, it was high time their daughter took her first trip via shadow teleportation.

Kurt looked at her skeptically. Their daughter was just born and she wanted to take her through the shadow realm?? "Don't you think it's a little early for that? I'm sure everyone is just standing on the other side of the doors, waiting for news."

"She's going to have to do it sooner or later." Del Said "Right Hank?"

"Right." Hank replied as he shuffled around the room, cleaning up after the ordeal. He had machi3enes that would safely sanitize the room for him but he sometimes enjoyed getting his hands dirty with actual work.

"See." Del said

Kurt glared at Hank. The big blue lug really wasn't being much of a help right now.

Del was smiling. "What?"

"Like I said, everyone is probably just waiting outside the doors anyway. I don't think it's really necessary for us to take her through the shadows just yet." Kurt explained with a shrug. He shook his head, gently squeezing the bridge of his nose. He sighed and looked at her. "There's no talking to you when you're like this. What room do you want?"

"When I'm like this?" Del asked "When I'm like this? You mean right after I just had a human life pulled from my body? How am I usually when something like that happens. Cause other than the Ceronian infestation nothing but YOUR CHILD has been removed from my body. So I think I'd prefer our room. Duh."

Kurt sighed and rubbed his eyes. "Fair enough." He smiled and walked over to her. He wrapped his arm around her waist, looking down at his daughter and opening a shadow portal out of their joined shadow, it lead directly to (their room@wiki)
