Yalala of Darkgrove, daughter of the wealthy bowmason Mejis and his wife Elala, could never be considered very imaginative. Even her father's ability to mold wood had passed her by. Though she does try on occasion she may only manage the odd useful tool or a bit of bow repair. However, she had gained his keen eyes and her mother's steady hands and accuracy, not to mention what beauty she had to pass on to her daughter. The only thing Yalala of Darkgrove had ever been good at, was bow work. She had some slight proficiency with a sword but that had only been to the urging of her uncle, her father's brother Mehas. "The girl will never be able to defend herself at more than thirty paces." He had said. He himself a swordmason (for the family trade was in weapons) had begged his brother and now sister to teach the girl at least something about a blade. And so she had learned, willingly enough because she too saw what he saw. Without some skill with a sword, she would never be able to defend herself at more than thirty paces.

They had seen to it also that she had learned the basics of this world. It was round for one, that had been Vannay, her tutor's first lesson. The world and how they as elves understood it sat in the cosmos. Second had been numbers and their ability to combine and create nigh anything the imagination desired, but again she had not much imagination at all so again she learned what she was required and nothing more. He had taught her letters, the letters and words of three languages besides her own, including common, sylvian and orc, because one should always know what an orc is saying, if you bother letting him live long enough to say it. But Vannay had taught her the history of their people, the formulation of their languages, where they sat among the stars and how to spot a problem and divert your road ether around or through it, depending on the circumstances.

So her father had given her love of the bow, her mother steady eye and hand, her uncle the use of the sword, and Vannay her tutor, knowledge of the world. With these it was up to Yalala, lacking in imagination as she did, was to strike out in the world and make something of herself. For she was too restless to bother letting one of the groveboys court her. She had not the taste for being a wife and not at the early age of one hundred and twenty. No, she had places to go and things to see, things that were not in Vannay's books, many as there had been.

So as we see her now, all be it a young elfling out on her own for the first time, she is not without experience. Having been apart of the world of men for nearly twenty years now she has learned that she prefers the wilderness and the communion with nature. She calls herself a scout but may be closer related to the druids, a sect her family has on occasion lent a member to in the past. Perhaps that is what has drawn her to wander the forest more often than the world of men, then again it may very well be that men and the beings in which the ally themselves with are far too imaginative for her tastes. So she wanders alone, intent on finding where she fits, finding if their is any imagination between her pointed ears, or maybe just finding adventure. As Vannay told her "There will be water if Ka wills it." and Yalala will drink when she comes to it.

2012-02-06 [Lord Josmar]: I think you need to go back through and look at some of the links you put up.

I dont think there is such an item as a Studded Leather Envy.

2012-02-06 [Lord Josmar]: It looks good, but a lot of it I couldn't figure out since it is all a straight line, like your carry capacity. Also, I will have to get the books transferred tonight and I will check everyone thoroughly.

2012-02-07 [Ravenclaw]: Studded leather is her armor. It was NOT called Envy when I picked it. And yes, I would love to get it all sorted out in a better format. I was in a hurry for work when I posted it.

2012-02-07 [Lord Josmar]: Do you know how to use the table tag? It would clean it up good as long as you don't mess up somewhere and make it all look funky like I did with mine.

2012-02-07 [Ravenclaw]: No, I don't

2012-02-07 [Lord Josmar]: ok

2012-02-07 [Ravenclaw]: Flisk said she;d help me with Format. I haven't even thougbt up her backstory yet.

2012-02-07 [Lord Josmar]: Well I am still waiting on Charles and another player who has never played D&D before. So you have time.

2012-02-07 [Ravenclaw]: k

2012-02-07 [Flisky]: If you put them in brackets, ET automatically tries to find a username to fit there, either old or new. :/

2012-02-07 [Ravenclaw]: I know, I haven't fixed it yet. All I did was paste it from when I finished this afternoon.
