Mysterious Wand
By [RiverStar]
Here is a fun little game that will trick just about all of your friends. All you need is some people to trick, you can have as little as two people to as many as you would like, and something stick like, a stick, a pencil, a pipecleaner, whatever you have on hand. If you are doing the trick with a large number of people it helps to have one or two other people who know the trick.
First off get everyone standing in a circle so that everyone can see everyone else.
Say: "Alright, I am going to do something and all you have to do is copy what I did when the stick is passed to you. If you figure out the trick don't tell anyone, just do the right thing when it's your turn. I will tell you after you have passed the stick whether you got it or not."
Then standing in the circle, hold the stick by the very tip in your right hand. Draw a happy face in the air with the stick. After that pass the stick to the person on your right. After you pass the stick, very casually cross your arms and watch the person with the stick.
Watch as the next person does the actions. It's not very important if they don't hold the stick exactly the same way, as long as it's rather similar, like holding the stick with right hand, doesn't have to be exactly the same spot on the stick. For most people, after you pass the stick they spot watching you and forget to cross their arms. That is the trick to this, crossing your arms.
This is a simple game that can sometimes take more than an hour before everyone in a group has figured it out. When playing this game with children at a summer camp, sometimes even all the young, seven year old children figure it out before the other counsellors who don't know the game.
Try it on your friends and family. How many of them can you fool?
