April 4, 2005... A boy died tonight.

His name was Blake, he was one of my friends. He was a freshman at Hillsboro High School in Missouri, and he was loved by many friends and family members. His story has touched many more than those who knew him when he was alive.

On April 1, 2005 Blake, his brother, and a friend were driving over to a friends house to play a game of golf. They never made it. Instead, they hit a tree. Blake was the only one physically injured and he was rushed to the hospital. His family and friends continued to gather at the hospital for the next few days, some of them even skipping school. Family, friends, and the families of the friends stood by waiting to hear news. Then, somewhere between 9 and 10 pm on April 4, 2005, Blake's family gathered to say their final goodbye's as Blake passed away.

Blake never felt any pain. His last conscious moments on Earth were with his brother, Chad, cruising down the road. My friend John says that's how Blake would have wanted it. He says he doesn't have a memory of Blake without Chad, or a memory of Chad without Blake. This makes me believe that Blake was truely happy during his last moments of conscious life.

Blake and his family can use as many prayers as you are willing to give. So don't be selfish, take a few moments and send Blake's story to everyone you know, so they too can celebrate Blake's life and memory with prayer. God Bless you if you do!
