Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. ~Ralph W. Emerson]
No sword strikes as deep as the one wielded by a friend - Unknown

From day to day, we live with this pain. Pain no one knows about... Hidden by smiles, masked by laughs. But we get to living this way, and after a time, not even we notice it, because we become so good at what we do: lie, act, and pretend. We believe ourselves.]
When everything is said and done, everyone moves on and I fade from existence.- Charlie R. Miller, AKA [

Better to die knowing my enemies, than to die sleeping innocently beside them]
“Words..., so innocent and powerless are they, as standing in a dictionary; how potent for good and evil they become to one who knows how to combine them...” [
Sir Riddle]

In Her Hands
Close your eyes against the reigning night
It's okay that you're too weak to fight
Nothing matters anymore
Here where darkened angels soar
Just let me hold you now tonight
As we see this mythic sight
Soft are the stars deep in the sky
So sweet is time, creeping, crawling by
It's okay, and it's all right
To be scared today, tonight
Stay here- I'll let you cry
One last time before good-bye
Don't rise, don't struggle from this eternal sleep
It's okay- you're mine to keep
Your thoughts- too little, too late, and so long ago
From a time within a time now we barely know
I'll listen as you cry and weep
It's only time before you're again asleep
So quiet is this reigning night as you draw your last
So dear is this life, and slipping painfully fast
And embrace--a sleep so sweet you've never seen
The person at peace you've never been
Forget your present, your future, and past
You are mine, and mine at last

[I was searching in my old papers and came
across a poem I had written a while back,
thought you might like it...]
We/Instead
We strive for the light hidden within the stars,
Instead fireflies are left to die in empty jars.
We wish for the sun when it is cold and dark,
Instead caterpillars burn alive sitting upon the bark.
We wish to own a warm and cozy wooded home,
Instead the bird loses its young and lives alone.
We search for a companion, a friend whom will play,
Instead the dog waits for their family to return one day.
We look to increase our knowledge throughout our life,
Instead the ape becomes crazed and stabs itself with a knife.
We race against each other to climb the stairs to success,
Instead beggars are tempted to drink to release the unbearable stress.
This is the life we hold in our hands.
The ones that reach to control the sands.
The sands of time,
It seems a crime.
True, two wrongs don’t make a right,
But, where there’s a shadow, there’s always a light.
