[Tawnee.] ET Prose Fairy Tale

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful, gorgeous land, still in the age of castles and princesses. There, the days went by like in any other: The sun rising and setting, and meanwhile, many things happened, many adventurous things. But none was so exceptional as that one day, on which the sun was rising into a rather misty morning. It seemed quite plain as any other, but for one thing. A bird sat on the edge of a cliff, watching over the valley. On the other side, lay a castle, quite hidden in the damp air of mist. But a light shone over it, and the bird too might have noticed, that something was about to happen.
In an old farm house, far away from the misty land, lived a little boy and girl. As brother and sister, they of course had times to argue, but also to play. They lived there together with their aunt and uncle, for their parents had died when they were still far younger. Every day passed as another. Until that one fateful day when the old bell on the door rang. The boy hurried to open it, but there was a sight which he had never seen before. In front of him, on the doorstep under the pouring rain, stood a little, pointy-hatted dwarf.
"Hello little boy, is you mother home?" The dwarf said in a scratchy voice.
"No." the boy said a bit intimidated.
"Well tell her I stopped by, ok?"
"Well what is your name?"
" Don't worry about that!"
The boy slammed the door shut and ran to his sister. He told her everything that happened and how he was so scared of the scary little dwarf. The little girl just laughed and called him a scaredy cat. But the two kids just continued to play a game.
Every day the little, pointy-hatted dwarf came back looking for the little boys mother. But every day the little boy would tell the dwarf that his mother wasn't there. The dwarf became annoyed.
A week after the first visit, the dwarf came back to the little farm house.
"Little boy, is you mother ever here!?!?!"
"No sir"
" And why is that little boy?"
" Because I... we......" scared and nervous, the boy slammed the door and ran inside, not letting the dwarf know his secret.
Now, it had been raining ever since the little dwarf showed up at his door on the first day. So the little boy and girls' aunt and uncle thought something was suspicious.
"Why do you keep answering the door?" The boys uncle said to him.
"Uh, no reason, this guy just keeps coming and asking for momma."
"DID YOU TELL HIM THE SECRET!?!?!"
" No, I didn't, I can't let anyone find out about us, plus, I don't even like talking to this guy, he creeps me out! I don't even think he's a real guy."
"Well if this 'guy' comes back again, just let me know, okay?"
"Okay."
Days passed by, and the dwarf hadn't come back, and it hadn't rained. But the dwarf wasn't done yet. Because a week later, the rain was back, and so was the dwarf. The dwarf rang the door bell about 7 impatient times before the little boy answered the door again.
"Is you mother here little boy?"
The little boy went back in the house and got his uncle.
"Yes, may I help you?" the boy's uncle said to to the dwarf.
"I'm looking for the mother of that little boy. Is she here?"
"NO! and stop coming back here"
This time the dwarf left, and this time he didn't leave alone, but he snatched the little boy, when no one was looking, during a game of hide and seek between the boy and his sister. The little girl just thought he had a really good hiding spot, until she couldn't find him for a whole hour! Neither could anyone else in that little farm house.
Back at the dwarfs place, he had the little boy tied up to a chair. But the dwarfs place wasn't normal. It floated in air, in mid air! It was a castle, quite hidden in the damp air of mist. The girls uncle thought back to the last time he saw his nephew, and that was when he last saw the dwarf, so the boys uncle went down to the dwarfs house, and didn't even bother knocking. He thought the house was weird, and so was the dwarf, so why bother knocking. So when the uncle went into the dwarf's house, the first thing he saw was his nephew tied up. He snatched his nephew, and pushed the dwarf into the pot that the dwarf was going to cook him in. The dwarf died from the heat.
Back at the little farm house, the little girl asked, "What happened?, Did he hurt you? Did he find out the secret?"
"The boy answered, yes he found out the secret, but he isn't living to tell. When people find out, that we are fairys, that is the last thing they hear. And when people find out that our parents were dwarfs, and we sent them off for being different, shocked is the last thing they feel. And when that dwarf found out, that he was our 'true' dad, he died, just like our 'other' parents."
As the boy finished speaking, the bird swooped down and carried them all away. After all, a bird could be much more then it seems, maybe a dwarf, a parent of a fairy. The boy, girl, uncle, and aunt were never seen again.
