A Hell We Made


The world is lazy, and tired of work.
We put it to rest, and lay down our arms.
Our legs on the table, and the remote in our hands.
Tv is turned on, and 17 commercials come by.
We see poor people in Africa, and whales that are being slain.

We explore the moons, and try to find more land to live on.
More land to cultivate, and more land to exploit.
We are never grateful for what has been given.
We are not about to understand the consequences.
Ignorance reigns on this world.

People are used like toys, and brutally slain.
Grown men are tempted to do something they would never do,
Just by the view of green pieces of paper.
Pure and untouched women offer themselves,
At the sight of a creditcard.

The world is rotten, and we try to work on it.
We fail instantly, for not stopping the destruction.
"It's impossible NOT to use engine's".
They managed 500 years ago.
Is the world already that incompetent?

We fear the explosion of the sun, or another big bang.
We fear the waters, and the icecaps that are melting.
We are afraid the world might destroy us,
While we destroy the world.
This is nothing more than we made of it.

This world can live without us.
Nature will take it's course, and erase us from the planet.
A next generation of intelligence will arise,
And they will pray not to make the same mistake.
They hope not to die.

We will eventually perish.
Eternity is not ours to take.
We will die and perish, by our own mistakes.
We will burn and wither.
