2005-07-11 [manwe]: hehehheh i have to say this angel... marriage is a civil contract. it has nothing to do with love or committment other than to raising children. the civil contract is that both will be "committed" to raising the children. religious groups got into it to perpetuate the dogma for political control of the next generation. nothing more to it than that.... god had nothing to do with it... and neither should the government, but the institution is a protection for progeny, and gays generally do not reproduce.

2005-07-11 [manwe]: i personally think that the government should give EVERYone (as individuals) the same and equal rights to transfers of property, health and insurance, care and protections. that would take religion and civil law aspects OUT of the equation. and, as it always has ever been... committment has nothing to do with a ceremony nor a piece of paper. it's either there or it isn't.... and there is NO legal way to legislate nor enforce morality.
