Adams: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy review

Douglas Adams wrote his best-seller at the age of 27. The first part of the five-part-series of the famous science fiction parody still managed to make me laugh at times.

The protagonist Arthur Dent has a very bad morning. At first they're trying to demolish his house for they're building a new freeway and then the entire Earth gets destructed by Vogons - for their new galactic freeway.
Ford Prefect, a good friend of Arthur and a man from Betelgeuse (of which Arthur never knew), manages to grab Arthur with him on a hitchhiking journey across the galaxy where they meet weird people - aliens - something, and find out the answer to the most biggest question in the universe.

Adams' language is vivid and comical. There are times when it might be a little over the top, but still you find the events quite funny.

This book is a modern classic and everyone should know it.
Don't look at the new movie. That's not good compared to the book.
