He is dressed in plain clothes, a pair of dark brown paints that have dirt and mud caked onto them; boots that are covered in the same mud are on his feet. However his armor a suit of chain mail with a breastplate are in impeccable condition his armor is clean and free of rust though the only thing telling you it’s not a new suit of armor is the fact the breastplate he wears has battle scars on it but is still no worse for the wear. A long sword hangs loosely at his side just within grasp should the need arise to defend himself, and a traveling pack sits perched on his shoulder along with a small shield strapped to the back of the pack. Perched on the side of the pack are a long bow and a quiver of arrows just within reach.
Personality: Alex is a kind, gentle hearted man who has come into this world as his own person he is compassionate, loyal, trustworthy, and honorable to a fault. He will not lie to his own advantage and will tell the truth even if it means that it would hurt him. He is the type of person who would risk life and limb to save some one even if they aren’t someone he knows. He will befriend you easily and defend you to the death if someone wishes ill upon you.
A Brief History: The son of a smithy he came into this world full of questions and doubts. Raised by his father, his mother having passed on when he was but a small child he learned quickly how cruel and hard the world can be for anyone living it in. Even with the realizations at such an early age it never stopped Alex for striving to be better at whatever it was he did. He followed in his father’s foot steps and became his apprentice at age 10, by age 15 he was helping his father in the smithy more and more and people from the local towns would come to him or his father for their extraordinary craftsmanship. Yet even with helping his father he yearned for more, he wanted to experience life, travel the world and see everything that he could.
His father could see that in his son’s eyes he wanted to leave having seen it before Alex himself understood the need and want to travel. Alex’s father taught him everything he knew, how to defend himself with a sword, how to hunt, how to mend his own wounds should he have been injured. He knew all the skills his father did when he was a soldier in the army long before he was ever conceived. With this teaching Alex’s father also instilled the morals and beliefs of honor, virtue, and courage. To help the weak and poor and to give back everything that he could. His father hoped that in his travels he would realize that there would troubles and hardships and that the lessons he taught his sons would help him to temper his will and resolve in this world. But grief and pain would strike Alex before his 18th birthday, while Alex was out gathering food for his father and himself since the smithy was at a slow point in the year. His father and his entire village would be attacked by bandits from the surrounding area. He knew nothing of what happened till he was on his way back and saw the smoke fill the sky. Racing back he came to see his beloved home and everything he knew up in flames and no trace as to who had committed this atrocious act. Steeling his resolve and burying all he ever knew and loved he packed his bags and left his small village to find who ever did this and travel to the ends of the earth to bring them to justice.
In just three years from leaving everything he knew behind he traveled out and used his skills to make a living, he enlisted in the army for three years and furthered his skills as a swordsman, to the point that there were very few who could match him in skill, finesse, and strength. His commanders and fellow soldiers quickly learned of the compassion, and strength of Alex and his sense of honor to those he served with. While on patrol they were ambushed, and Alex protected not only himself but those who had been wounded by the arrows of attackers, he knew full well of the potential danger of dragging their bodies off the field of battle to safety yet he would not let them die a meaningless death if it could be helped. His commander had been one of the injured, he tended to his wounds and even though he was of the lowest rank in the squad he took command once he knew that their commander could do nothing in the condition he was in. In little time he was able to push back the attackers and saw that in the end the aggressors had sustained more casualties then they themselves had. Looking back to those he served with he tended to all their wounds before he even realized he had been hit by an arrow in the shoulder and required attention himself. He ignored the orders and help that others offered him till he knew there was nothing left he could do then sat down himself and let others tend to his wounds.
