Character name: Alyssa Jameson

Mutant Name: Siren

Abilities/powers: Reality manipulation through illusion and suggestion. If Alyssa is able to concentrate on a person for long enough, and she can maintain line of sight to, She can essentially hijack their mind, and fill it with an alternate reality that only they can see, hear, smell, and even believe that it exists. Often times, the form of the fantasy is based off of Alyssa's emotions. If she is happy, then the illusion may be that of a warm meadow, or some other similarly enticing dreamscape. If she is angry, the illusions may reflect those of the gates of hell, however. She is also able to send suggestions by voice (Similar to the Jedi mind tricks in Star Wars. "These are not the droids that you are looking for."). None of her powers will function against targets with telepathic abilities, such as Professor Xavier.

Height: 5'7"

Additional Appearance: Alyssa's style is mostly just fun and a little sporty. She prefers tank tops and shorts during warmer months, but gladly branches into t-shirts, jeans, and sometimes even skirts, usually in bright colors or black. If she's cold, she's more apt to go for a comfortable hoodie rather than a sweater or something similar. She likes wearing jewelry, and will often switch between a number of necklaces and rings, and the such. She also has her ears pierced and slightly gauged, in which she wears small, silver tunnels.

Personality: Happy-go-lucky is probably the best way to describe Alyssa's personality. Her mutation hasn't been able to get her down, and she tends to view it as more of a gift than a curse. Her mutation has opened up new doors to her that would have otherwise been shut, and she has cherished in those opportunities so far. While friendly and relatively cheerful, she is not overtly in anyone's face with her happiness. She's friendly, generally nice, and cheerful, all of which tend to get her a long way in most cases.

Special Skills: She is in generally good shape, and is fairly flexible.

Place of birth: Albany, NY

Weapon(s) of choice: Quarterstaff. (She carries a two-section, carbon fiber quarterstaff with her.)

Medical information: Minor case of Hay Fever. Freshly cut grass tends to cause her to sneeze for a while.

Brief History: Born and bred a New York native, Alyssa grew up in a small, suburban section of Albany to a 'slightly' more than middle class family. Her father, Steven, was a leading doctor in Neurology, and her mother, Ellen, a Professor of Psychology at NYU. Even as a young child, Alyssa was a very happy youth, often deemed to have a 'highly active imagination' (Little to be known was that is was actually early glimpses into her mutation.). Alyssa was known to have wild emotional swings as a child, often hitting two very different ends of the spectrum, from the happiest of little girls, to the most upset, angry, and depressed of children, sometimes, even within a matter of minutes. Around the age of 10, both of Alyssa's parents took great concern with the matter, both investigating into the girl's moods, thinking that she may have been bi-polar. The tests, instead, caused another reaction in Alyssa, the stress snapping her out of her own illusions, and into a more normal world. While the tests went on to turn up negative results, dismissing the idea of a medical condition, her parents let the matter go, for the most part. Life went on this way for the Jameson family for a few more years, before Alyssa's mother decided to have another look at what may have snapped their daughter out from the mood swings that she was once susceptible to as a child. When approaching Alyssa about undergoing more tests, the girl looked her mother in the eye, and simply said, "You don't want to test on me any more," And with that, Ellen's eyes momentarily glassed over and she stood up, saying that she no longer wanted to test on Alyssa. Alyssa's father, however, noticed this phenomenon, realizing that something was very different with his daughter, something far beyond the realms of normal science. Dr. Jameson looked into schools for the "unnaturally talented" near their home in Albany, and came across the Xavier school for Talented Youngsters just a ways away in New York City, and with that, Alyssa was sent off to study with other like-talented people.
