In Armored Core 4 the term AC isn't so widely used anymore. You pilot a NEXT Craft now which in all essence is the AC of the game. So that being said certain things are different.


Head A Chasis part. This is responsible for housing the FCS of the NEXT. Like all Chasis parts provide standard AP, Bollistic Defense, Energy Defense, and Primal Armor Rectification.
Core A Chasis part. This is responsible for housing the Generator, main booster and over booster of the NEXT. It is also the center piece of the NEXT. Like all Chasis parts provide standard AP, Bollistic Defense, Energy Defense, and Primal Armor Rectification.
Arms A Chasis part. It is responsible for housing the side booster, and for the addition of Shoulder weapons and hand held weapons. Like all Chasis parts provide standard AP, Bollistic Defense, Energy Defense, and Primal Armor Rectification. The Arm class also has integrated weapons.
Legs A Chasis part. This is responsible for housing the back booster and for the movement of the NEXT. Like all Chasis parts provide standard AP, Bollistic Defense, Energy Defense, and Primal Armor Rectification. Each leg weight type determines the animation used for how you use each blade.
Bipeds are the prime appearance of a next. Appearing in the common heavy mid and light weights there are also Reverse Joint, Quads and Tanks. One note worthy feature with tanks is that they can hangar any handheld weapon.
FCS Housed in the Head , this part provides combat control as well as radar.
Generator Housed in the Core , this part provides energy to all parts as well as Kojima Particles to power your overbooster and Primal Armor.

Main Booster Housed in the Core , this part is the main boosting element to your NEXT. With a good generator and booster you can boost indefinitely on the ground.
Side Booster Housed in the arms , this part is the side boosting element to your NEXT. A good side booster will quick boost up to 8 times without time for recharge. This booster has 4 boost directions: Left Right turnboost left turnboost right.
Back Booster Housed in the Legs , this part is the back boosting element to your NEXT. Often like the side booster used as a quick boost to get away from say a Kojima explosion you would quick boost. They arnt very fast at all so its best to turn around and haul ass.
Over Booster Housed in the Core , this part is the over boosting element to your NEXT. Ideal for rushing and or escaping tight situations. The overbooster coupled with a good generator can carry you across the test stage which is about 15-20 seconds of continued boost.

Right Arm Weapon A handheld weapon responsible for your attack firepower. The thing to be noted is all weapons on the right are available on the left. The stats to look for are PA reduction and piercing.
Right Back Weapon A core-mounted weapon responsible for your attack firepower. The thing to be noted is all weapons on the right are available on the left. The stats to look for are PA reduction and piercing. One thing to include for back units is that they have radar and PA molders available.
Left Arm Weapon A handheld weapon responsible for your attack firepower. The thing to be noted is all weapons on the right are available on the left. The stats to look for are PA reduction and piercing.
Left Back WeaponA core-mounted weapon responsible for your attack firepower. The thing to be noted is all weapons on the right are available on the left. The stats to look for are PA reduction and piercing. One thing to include for back units is that they have radar and PA molders available.
Shoulder The "Extension" of the NEXT. This part provides additional utilities for the NEXT be it support missiles or anti missiles such as ECM or flares

Right Hangar Weapon A handheld weapon responsible for your attack firepower. The thing to be noted is all weapons on the right are available on the left. The stats to look for are PA reduction and piercing.

Left Hangar WeaponA handheld weapon responsible for your attack firepower. The thing to be noted is all weapons on the right are available on the left. The stats to look for are PA reduction and piercing.

Stabilizers
All stabilizers correct where the AC is on its center of gravity. try to get the numbers to 0,0 that means its centered.



If you are wondering: Karasawa or KRSW is now the Canopus Hi Laser Rifle. You get the Moonlight and Canopus after defeating the NEXTS that hold them.
