2006-08-17 [Adaria_Moonlight]: *sticks out her tongue at you* Hey, I state, quite plainly, in my house, that I can't spell to save my life.
2006-08-17 [Silverbullet]: ..so if you had to win a spelling bee (or however the FRICK it's supposed to be spelled ^^") to save your life, say because some arch-evil-dood said so.. you'd die? O_O
...what kind arch-evil-dood makes someone win a spelling bee to save their life?!!?
2006-08-17 [Adaria_Moonlight]: Oh yes, I would most definitely die. No question.
I don't know, a particularily diabolical one? Who has a thing about spelling?
2006-08-17 [Silverbullet]: well... umm.. I guess NAIT's going to be pretty diabolical then? ^____^
2006-08-17 [Adaria_Moonlight]: *laughs* I sure hope not. I don't think English is a major part of the program.
2006-08-17 [Silverbullet]: ...you still have an english course, though, right?
That's what i don't get! Why, oh why, do we need to keep learning languages after we can speak them, understand them and write them!?! Writing an essay, though it'll help keep my sentence structure in shape and all that blablabla, never really gave me more than a headache!
2006-08-17 [Adaria_Moonlight]: No, actually, I'm pretty sure I don't.
2006-08-17 [Adaria_Moonlight]: At least, I didn't see it in the listing of the courses..
2006-08-17 [Silverbullet]: ...lucky bastard-... what's the feminin form of bastard? Oo
2006-08-17 [Adaria_Moonlight]: I dont' think there is one. Bastard simply means 'born out of wedlock' could aply to male or female.
2006-08-17 [Silverbullet]: yeah, but it is so widely used for men that i figured it was a 'masculin' word ^^
2006-08-17 [Silverbullet]: funny how words have lost their original meaning though, eh? Plenty of bastards flock the streets and nobody really cares, whereas non-bastards are being called bastards cause they're asses XD
2006-08-17 [Adaria_Moonlight]: Yes. Amlost nothing has the same meaning as it did 100 years ago, it seems.
2006-08-17 [Silverbullet]: I had plenty of examples a while back, but now i can't really remember any off the top of my head...
But i often catch myself saying an expression, and then wondering where it came from. Often i'll manage to retrace it and my supposed original meaning comes nowhere near what it means today ^^
2006-08-17 [Adaria_Moonlight]: Isn't that the truth. I don't wonder where expressions come from so much as I wonder why hings were named as they were. Why is a duck a duck? Why wasn't the duck a chicken?
2006-08-17 [Silverbullet]: ...beuh.. i've never found any explanation to those.. Like why is the word 'Pants' and the verb 'pant' spelled the same (except for the s?)
And then there's the classic "why is it ONE bra and pantieS?"
2006-08-18 [Adaria_Moonlight]: *laughs* Ah, the great mysteries of life..
2006-09-03 [Adaria_Moonlight]: *nods* And very distracting when I'm supposed to be getting ready for school.
2007-02-18 [Viking]: Beautiful shots! You've got a nice range of color and textures.
2007-02-18 [Adaria_Moonlight]: Thanks!
