Nobody knows when the city of Arkalo was built, or at what time it prospered. In fact, nobody knows anything about it really. At least, nobody knows anything about it that's been proven. But there are rumors, rumors that talk about a ghost city that appears at night. Some people believe it to be a vision of the city as it use to look, while others believe that it to be the city itself, appearing in their time. Then still others believe it to be, not the city itself, but a portal to it.
Of course, nobody really knows for sure, since those who have gone there have never returned...
