Batman the Animated Series

In the early 90's, BTAS revolutionized the look and quality of super hero cartoons. The voice acting was like something out of an old radio show, the backgrounds were breath taking, the stories dark, and the action incredible. It was, well, who am I trying to kid being all formal and crap? It was AWESOME! I was one of the kids who grew up with this show, and really, when I think of Batman, I hear Kevin Conroy and see BTAS's character design. The Joker will never be anyone but the pointy faced cackling Mark Hamill voiced madman and Alfred will always have that weird little mustache of his. BTAS rocks. It changed the Batman universe forever. It invented Mr. Freeze's back story about his wife, it elaborated on the mental states of TwoFace and other Arkham regulars and it invented the adorably awesome Harley Quinn. It is just as important as the comics and is a real landmark in Batman history. Buy it, download it, I don't care. It is brilliant and amazing, even after it was toned down for the kiddies. And if you don't believe me, it won two Emmy's! That show is sick awesome. It should be worshiped. Worship it. NOW.

Batman Beyond

Can you say, sexy? I don't know as much about this one, I've only seen one or two eps and The Return of the Joker WHICH IS FANTASTIC! Lemme wikipedia this. OK, that didn't help. Basically, Batman in the future, the new Batman is super hot, Bruce is old and awesome, the art is amazing the music blows my mind, it's well written, fun and... might be coming back in the future. Maybe. I think this is a great continuation of BTAS and would not have the future happen any other way.

The Batman Adventures

After season four of BTAS, The Batman Adventures began. I have only seen a few episodes, even though I own them all, because the art repulsed me. Well, at least it's still Kevin and Mark. It's basically a continuation of BTAS with a revamped style and young robin.

I know they're going for something different... but I HATE IT! And that's all I'm gonna say. WHY IS THE JOKER A GORILLA?! And holy shit I just listened to a clip on youtube AND BATMAN HAS A SISSY VOICE! In the clip, Superman's voice was deeper. SUPERMAN. Holy shit, I'm going to cry.
