I have language issues, I know. But when there's something like Kakkahaar... I mean, really. Haar is similar to "hair" in many languages. "Kakka", then again, means poop in Finnish. Crap. I need a translated version because the language just bothers me. Maybe I'm pathetic that way, but still... I'd probably change the spelling of that to something like Khaqcahaar.

Endnote: so when was that time when Pell spent a good deal of time turning the world upsidedown looking for Flick? Because it seemed like the book and writing finished before it was done, so it couldn't have been known, or was it done there in between? And if so, why was there no marking of it?
The second book
So Terzian loved Cal. No wonder!
I think I know why Cal suddenly got a lot better when ey shared breath with Swift. Had been so long since last time...
General: I wonder what it would be like to write about epicene people in Finnish, where any attempt at trying to imply gender when you know there is none is pretty cumbersome unlike in other languages. I suppose in Finnish it just wouldn't become an issue at all (all books that have included epicene people this far that I've read have been written in English and all have made some notion of personal pronouns and other stuff like that, which in Finnish doesn't make sense (you had to know English to get the translation of
Left Hand of Darkness in that sense)).
Of course, with a gender-neutral pronoun set it's possible to write that way in English too, even if it would be sometimes a little cumbersome for natives to not talk about "men".
Mwahaha. Swift and Cal's wild animal sex and tearing and biting. XD
In the beginning of book two or end of book one it was said that Varrs are about the only tribe out there... how about the Uigenna? Whatever happened to them?
Where did Cal go? Why does Thiede insist on making things the way they're done?
Why is Swift so obsessed with Seel? The way Swift spoke to Seel and later Rue was so unbelievable that I recognized it from my own way of behaving! XD
Uigenna are still a slight problem, but they didn't get to that.
Cal came back and Terzian died, but Cal didn't tell what had happened to em. Seemed a bit like ey was on the run.
Third book
I finally started actually reading it...
Prologue: What will the future Wraeththu think about the past?
1: Cal went to Fallsend, a cesspit, more or less. Ey didn't get work, so ey was thrown out of the "hotel" and ey happened to go up to a musenda (ilotalo) to ask for work.
2: Flashback: Seel and Cal are lovers (damn young too) and decide to go check out Wraeththu. Cal is incepted, Seel apparently isn't. Yay aruna!
Astarth cleans up Cal, and Jafit "interviews" em. Astarth shows Cal the ropes (or tries to), then Lolotea instructs em and Cal apparently "impresses" Astarth in some way. Lolotea and Cal become friends during the evening (and Cal shares a bit of eir background).
3: Flashback: Seel went to the Unneah. Cal met Zackala. Cal went on a butchering trip to a human town. Wraxilan wanted Cal to try and have a child, but ey declined and was banished. Ey and Zack went to Seel.
Cal and Lolotea have some actual fun and Cal moves to Lolotea's room. Cal got eir own room and was "tested" by Astarth and Jafit.
4: Cal heard a ghastly cry and ventured in the "forbidden" part of Piristil, from where ey was driven away. Kruin got to be eir customer. Jafit showed Cal the har that was kept in the locked up part of the house: Panthera, a slave. Astarth and Cal went to take care of em afterwards and Panthera spoke to Cal telepathically
. Cal would help Panthera to escape eventually.
Flashback: Cal and Zack ticked off some people, ran, got cornered and Cal got away. Ey wouldn't help Zack, so Zack threw a knife into eir arm. Cal met and took Pellaz.
5: Cal planned and met Kruin again. Kruin could help em get out of Fallsend. Cal talked to Kruin about eir plans and Kruin barely agreed to go along, after hearing there was money involved.
Flashback: Cal did eir part in Pellaz's inception and ey was quite enthralled by it.
6: Flashback: Pell and Cal were in Galhea. Terzian asked Cal to stay and Cal declined.
Cal went back to Piristil and it felt empty. Cook Jancis told someone had been murdered and Cal went to check that it wasn't Panthera, got a little friendly with Mojag Outher and then went to Jafit's office, from where ey and Astarth left off to kill Lolotea's murderer, Demell. Astarth bought poison, they stuffed it down Demell's throat and left em for dead. Lolotea was buried. Cal met Outher and bought some poison from the same Uigenna person as Astarth had done before. Ey took Outher to eir room and Outher said ey wanted to take Cal away with em to Mojag. Cal planned eir and Panthera's escape on Outher's blue-eyed stupidity.
7: Flashback: Pell was killed and Cal went more or less crazy.
Cal was dead anxious about eir plans going well the night they would make their escape. Ey was supposed to have a client, ey faked illness and couldn't get to bring Panthera food. The others bothered em since ey was "ill". Eventually ey advanced and had to take Ezhno to Panthera's room with em. Panthera silenced em. Kruin started corroding the window bars and when it was almost done, Astarth came in but helped Cal and Pathera when the Mojags woke up. They got away.
8: Panthera told the tale of eir parents (jolly, romance) and how ey was supposed to visit Kalamah, eir hostling's home. Ey liked Ferike better. On that trip ey was caught and Jafit took em to Thaine. Cal wouldn't share any of eir story.
9: Flashback: Cal is back with Seel (in Saltrock?). Ey cries and is apparently confused or crazy or something. Orien comes there and ey and Cal do some things. There was confusion, but Cal tore up Orien, killed em and hung em in the temple by eir guts. Cal said it was because Orien could have warned Cal and Pell (about what exactly?). (Did someone control Cal?) (576)
Cal, Panthera and Kruin stopped at a place where there is a shrine to the Aghama. Cal was anxious there and wanted away, but it was a good shelter. They made their way to Caraway, where an innkeeper gave them a free meal and told that another party of people from Thaine had been there within two days. They left quickly. They camped, but in the night Jafit and eir group of five others found them. Panthera had to kill Jafit, which resulted in them being captured. Cal was struck unconscious, and when ey came to, Outher beat em up extremely thoroughly. (583) The thugs were planning on executing Cal and Kruin and taking Panthera back to Piristil. They were just about to cut Cal's throat when Arahal (commanding officer in Pell's armies) materialized there and stopped it. The Gelaming stopped the whole thing. They would go to the next Hadassah town to settle their crimes.
12: Cal, Kruin and Panthera ride somewhere, and they arrive at a Gimrah village called Lemarath (603). Cal has a dream/experience about Zackala (607). They spend some time in there, stranded in snow.
13: The three arrive in Ferike, where Panthera's home is. They travel some more and arrive at Jael, Panthera's home "village".
14: Calanthe dissects eir memories with Panthera's parent, Ferminfex. This chapter explains a lot of things!
15: Calanthe tells of eir memories to Panthera, too. Panthera says ey will go under the mountain of Jaddayoth with Cal. cal meets Pell's soul in a stunning waterfall.
16: Cal and Panthera come to the area of Ehlmen. Arawn seems like a leader figure, and another Ehlmen called Nanine leads them to Shappa.
17: Kachina leads them deep underground, and Cal and Panthera fireball em by accident while shooing off some monster. They arrive at Sahen.
18: Cal and Panthera go see the Lyris in Sahen. Cal is probably Cleansed.
19: Cal goes to the oracle under Sahen. It tells em that ey should go to the Roselane, or Dream People. They return to Jael.
20: They spend time in Jael. Panthera decides ey will go with Cal.
21: Cal decides to go to Oomadrah first, and After sailing on a ship with Asvak, comes to Morla, a Maudrah town, where Lourana took em and Panthera to Oomadrah and Ariaric.
22: Cal and Panthera get into the Sykernesse.
23: Cal meets Ariaric. The Tigrina will come to Sykernesse soon.
24: Cal stays so ey can meet the Tigrina.
25: Cal meets the Tigrina, quite unproductively. Ey decides to leave for Roselane soon.
26: Cal goes to Roselane and meets Tel-an-Kaa, who is another kind of new species, Kamagrian.
27: All kinds of things are explained!
28: Cal and Panthera travel to Immanion and meet Zack.
29: Cal prepares.
30: Cal kills Thiede and is reunited with Pellaz.
31: Endings.
