CARIBEAN 2
Narcissa got up after about 15 minutes and pulled a bottle and a glass of wine from the desser and poured half a glass and sipped the wine frim the glass.
John carefully walked down the steps, silently approaching his sister's room. They shared one, despite being opposite genders. Once inside the room, he rolled his eyes. Chlieo had sprawled out over her hammock. "Get up," he said, rolling her onto his by pushing the middle. "It's past dawn!" When she fell into his bed, he smiled and moved to the doorway, leaving it closed behind him.
Chlieo woke with a start, thrashing around on John's hammock. She'd attempted to sit up, but realized she was on her stomach. With heavy limbs, her feet found the floor as she stood upright. "What?" she asked, tiredly.
"Get up," John repeated. "It's past dawn. What did you do all night?" He'd crossed his arms and leaned his shoulder against the wall of the small room.
"Stargazing," she said, stifling a yawn. It didn't work. After stretching her arms above her head, Chlieo blinked, rubbing her eyes lightly. "Okay, okay! I'm up! Now get out!" She shooed him out the door and closed it behind him, sighing. She rummaged around the single suitcase and slipped on something cleaner after peeling off her nightgown and short pants.
John smirked and returned to the upper deck. When he looked around, he noticed Siren had left the railing, so instead of moving to steer the ship, he simply stood there, the rocking motion reminding him of his own need for some shut eye.
Siren climbed back up to the main deck. "John," She placed a hand on his arm, "You should go get some sleep. You look like you're about to fall over."
Looking over to Siren, John simply smile. "I don't like sleep," he said with a wink. He knew sleep was a necessity. "I'm fine, at the moment. A splash of sea water and I'm good to go." He smiled lightly, his tiredness seemingly disipiating as he placed a hand on Siren's.
"Go or I'll put you to bed myself," Siren raised an eyebrow, "I can't have a good officer of mine tired. I need all of you at high alert."
John took a moment before nodding with a sigh. "I suppose I should," he said, and smiled lightly, grasping her hand before smiling. He then turned and loosened his grip leaving Siren standing on the deck.
Chlieo passed him on his way down, her height seemingly smaller next to him, but soon she looked to Siren. After glancing at her brother, she then moved closer to the new Captain. "He likes you," she said blatantly. "It's weird. He hasn't been like that since...well, not since childhood." She smiled. "I'm Chlieo, John's twin sister."
Siren nodded, the wind whipped her hair around, she smiled slightly, "I'm Siren, Artemis's sister. I'm the new captain."
"Well, introductions aside, what orders are we running on?" she asked, hoisting herself to sit on the railing. Chlieo stood about two and a half feet shorter than Siren.
Siren looked out at the horizon, "We are headed to Port Royal to restock, we will be there for about five days, and then after the Black Rose."
"I thought you told John we were headed home," she said. "These floorboards aren't very thick, Siren." Chlieo indicated with her hand. "Either way, it'd be nice to walk on land for a bit."
"Hmmm...no I'm sure I said Port Royal didn't I?" Siren smiled, and then looked at the floorboards, "Yes, I'll have those replaced, I know a good carpenter who owes me..."
Chlieo smiled lightly. "Perfect!" she exclaimed jumping up. "I cannot wait to face those heathens!" She imitated her own version of sword fighting. Surprisingly, it very much resembled the unorthadox style of a pirated, despite her being in the Navy for so long. "The Black Rose, eh? Who are we after, then? My memory's fuzzy."
"Sarah and Sally...I warn you, Sarah may look young, as she is, however, she is just as ruthless as any other pirate," Siren looked at her as she did th emock sword fight, "Oh, and do try to shift your wieght to the right when you jab when you right, not your left...it's much easier."
Chlieo paused in mid-stride and looked to Siren. "Oh?" she said, straightening herself. "Well, how about a practice bout?" She smiled lightly, unsheathing her sword and bowing with a sweeping motion of her arm. "And I'll be sure to shift my weight." She looked up at Siren with a wink, straightening with her arm and sword extended to her captain.
"Not this morning..perha
ps tonight.." Siren smiled slightly, cleaning her nails.
Chlieo laughed. "You're such a spoil-sport!" she said, sheathing the blade and moving closer to the railing, which came up to just underneath her chest.
"Maybe, but fighting in front of my crew is not the smarest thing to do," Siren walked up beside her smirking, she nodded to the staring crew memeber, "Back to work all of you." They turned back to work.
Chlieo watched as their faces resembled hers when she wasn't allowed to join the Navy at twelve: disappointed interest. She looked back to Siren, a smile playing across her face. "Well," she said, moving to grab the rope ladder leading to the Crow's Nest. "I suppose it would've been fun," she paused, "If you'd've been willing. Just let me know where and we've a deal." She climbed about halfway before moving to the side to look out at sea. Within moments she could see Tortuga approaching. By nightfall, they'd be docked.
Siren walked below deck to find John, she wandered around, "Now where are you?"
Laying on the hammock, John simply sat there, staring at the ceiling. He never did like sleeping on a ship, and basically only could after using so much energy he couldn't stay awake. He sighed rather quietly and blinked slowly, being tired, but still awake.
Chlieo had made her way to relieve the soldier in the Crow's Nest and sent him down the ladder, herself taking a post, kneeling against one edge, watching the ship propelled forwards.
Siren paused right beside John's door, not knowing it was his, "Now where are you?" She wondered out loud, not realizing it.
John's attention flew to his door. He'd heard Siren say something and stood, rather quietly for jumping down from a hammock. He moved to the door and opened it. "What would the captain be doing near my quarters?" he asked casually.
Siren jumped startled, she placed a hand over her rapidly beating heart, "John! You almost scared me to death."
John placed his hand over hers. "So I have," he said with a smile, leaning against the doorframe and crossing his arms. "Back to the main quesiton, what brings you down here?"
"Ah...ah..I was looking for the cat.." Siren blushed slightly, but not enough to notice.
John smiled lightly. "I didn't know we had many felines on this level," he told her, faking ignorance, but discretely. "I thought that the two cats on this ship were kept on the lower levels, where the mice had been."
"Well I can do as I wish, this is my ship," Siren huffed. She leaned her back fully against the hallway wall.
John couldn't hide a smile at this. He glanced over Siren before saying, "Well, now that you've kept me from sleeping, what, per say, would you have me do?" There was no hidden tone, strangely enough, just the question.
Siren's attention was taken by the cook, who was passing by, so she didn't hear John's question, she looked up at him, standing up, "Did you aske me something? i'm afarid I didn't hear it."
John smiled lightly. "I asked what you would have me do," he told her, keeping the same lack of a tone or attitude from it.
"Whatever you feel like doing John. Right now I'm too tired to give orders," Siren smiled softly, leaning back against the wall.
