Chapter Fourteen

Stu knew he was doomed to be lost. There was no light at all. No glowing cocoons to lead the way for him. It was absolute darkness. He thought about calling into the night but what good would it do him? No one could hear him. This was getting more confusing by the minute. He was lonely, wishing he could leave his mind. He wished to awake from all this but alas he couldn't. 
He sat there, lost and fearing what could happen. He stared into the endless of abyss of nothing. Wait, were his eyes deceiving him or was a faint glimmer? Yes, there was a strange green glow. Wait, was that a person? Could it be one of his students? 
Whoever it was it proceeded towards him. The only visible thing he saw was an umbrella that the person held. Soon, Stu was under it. He looked to the face of the walker. He could see only a cracked mask with a nearly fading smile. It helped Stu rise to his feet. It pointed to something in the distant. It was a castle: a huge castle of white stone.
“Is that your home?” Stu asked. It nodded. “You want me to follow.” It nodded again. “Okay, just lead the way.”
Stu felt odd following what it was but he figured it was very trust worthy. He had been so many places already and had met so many things. His suspicions began to fade very quickly.
He then heard tiny drips. His nose was filled with the smell of pond scum. He looked down and saw a fish move under his feet. Were they walking on water?
The creature led him to the gates were they were greeted by two bell hops. They opened the glittering gates of gold. Stu noticed there was a figure on the gates. It was a mask like the creature was wearing. He looked closer and read the words El Corazón pesado.
“Sir?” He asked the creature. “Is that your name on the gates?” It nodded for a third time. “Mind if I call you Cor?” Cor nodded for the last time.
Cor led him into his huge hall. It smelled of nose tickling perfume and candles. Two butlers appeared and took Stu away. The halls were lovely! Draperies were hung everywhere! Vases were full of fresh, smelling flowers. They took him to a lovely room where there were two maids and two other butlers.
“Wow! This man has two of everything!” Stu smiled.
As if they were telepathic, the maids bowed to the other butlers and turned to Stu.
“Erm, what are you doing?” Stu asked, as the butlers approached him. His shirt was suddenly ripped off from his chest. “GAH! Hey I need that!”
The butlers took him to a bath room where they ran some water. After it was filled with water, they let him undress in peace and get into the tub.
“This feels nice!” He sighed. The maids came quietly but giggled at the sight of Stu in the tub. They placed some new clothes for him on the sink and scurried off. “Huh? I wonder what that was!”
After soaking for about an hour, he was ready to get out. He grabbed a towel and tied it around his waste. He then noticed that his old clothes were gone but found some rather nice ones instead. Thinking they were left for him, he tried them on. They fit him rather properly so he decided to keep them on.
“Sir?” A timid whisper came from the door. “Are you ready?”
“Ready for what?” Stu asked.
“The party sir.”
She led him down to the stair case where he saw a huge ball room, filled with people. The maid handed him a masquerade mask. It was elegantly designed with feathers and glitter. He tried it on and it fit perfectly. Breathing in deeply, he walked down the stairs and joined the party.
