Chapter Seven

Johji had joined Cleo at the hospital. Hector had also come back and much to his dismay, Glenn was there too. Hector was much like Myron, he hated Glenn with a deep hatred. Glenn had no love in his eyes let alone his heart. His soul was hard and no one could penetrate it.
Focus on something else, he told himself. He tried to find something that would make his mind not set on killing Glenn. Flu shots, his shoes, blue roses. Wait, did he just see blue roses?
Indeed he had.
Clasped tight in Johji hands was a bouquet of blue roses. Hector inspected Johji for a moment. Where his eyes glowing blue? Something was strange about these kids; something very strange.

“You see that girl over there?” asked mannequin. “Tap her on the shoulder.”
Stu looked at the man. He wasn't kidding. Stu walked over to the girl who was staring into nothing. He gently tapped her shoulder. “Excuse me but---”
“And we're rolling, rolling, rolling on the river. Listen to the story.” She sang with a soothing, deep voice.
The music exploded and the lights went down. Stu felt himself fall right down into a chair. A spotlight shone on the girl who now had a microphone.

I left a good job in the city
Working for the man every night and day
And I never lost one minute of sleeping
Worrying 'bout the way things might have been

Big wheel keep on turning
Proud Mary keep on burning
And were rolling, rolling
Rolling on the river

“That,” said mannequin. “Is Proud Mary. She likes pop and oldies.”
Stu was touched by these last two performances. He wanted to spread the word through the entire place. He scrambled to tell the pop girl at the No Doubt case. Once there, he was ready to tell her about Be Rock and Proud Mary.
“Isn't No Doubt great?” she said. “They're the best band-band-band in the w-w-w-w-orld! Isn't No Doubt great? Isn't No Doubt great? Isn't No Doubt great?”
She was repeating herself over and over again. Did she not even notice that? Sure, this band have been good but what about other bands or artists? He stopped short; he remembered Johji's word. Now he knew why people liked more than one music. If people didn't it be boring. This girl was repetitive and he didn't like it. He bent his head in shame. He looked towards mannequin to hear words of wisdom but instead he saw Johji. He wore a blue jump suit like Cleo's.
“You're seeing you're fault. Remember to listen and learn.” He said.
Just like Cleo, two butterfly wings of blue sprouted out his back. They flapped, causing a great wind. Stu tried to walk against it but it was too strong. Soon, Johji was gone and Stu was blown away into another unknown part of his brain.
