Meko, pulled her cloak around her tighter as the snow fall quickened, the chill in the air was close to unbearable, but she was so close to what she had been so desperately searching for. How could she even think of giving up?
" You're tired....why don't you just let me help you~ I'll let you rest."
"SHUT UP!!" Meko screamed into the snow filled air, she immediately regretted it when she started seeing outlines of people drifting in and out of sight. The snow made it so hard to see anything but gray and white.
"Came on. I don't want to fight...I'm tired, I just want to rest~"
"I-I'm fine I can still fight." Meko told herself taking a deep breath as she readied herself. One of the shadows moved close enough for her to almost make it out, she quickly swung to kick the person in the stomach, but she didn't make contacted with anything.She noticed more movement out of the corner of her eye and quickly spun around to strike with her left arm, but again, there was nothing to make contact with.
"W-what the.. H***?" Meko panted, her limbs where already aching from traveling so long in this cold climate.
"I wont be able to keep this up much longer.
Meko shook the thought away. She didn't see anyone so she forced her legs to continue carrying her a crossed the snowy Plains.
Again she started seeing shadows moving around her.
"Show yourselves, Da***t !!" Meko demanded feeling herself swaying slightly.
"You shouldn't yell...it's rude." A young nine year old Maniko stated as it formed from one of the dark shadows.
"Maniko!! wh-what are doing here? It's dangerous you need to leave!" Meko stated hurry to her sister.
"No Meko....I'm perfectly safe, and warm. You could be too~ just lay down and go to sleep." Maniko stated happily as she reached up on her tippy toes to pat Meko's head.
"B-but I can't....I have to much to do." Meko stated trying to stand straight so she could continuing walking.
"Why? I'm here. You have nothing left to do. We're together!" Maniko said happily as she cut in front of Meko.
"No...I'm not done...yo-your not here! You can't be here!!" Meko stated going to grab Maniko.
"You-You're soo cruel!! I HATE YOU MEKO!!!" Maniko screamed as she disappeared.
Meko looked down at the snow. It was starting to look tempting with it's white, fluffy, softness. She could see how it could make a nice grave, but not for her, at least...not yet.
I made my sister sad...Maybe...maybe I should've listened to her.
"No....No..I can't give up yet." Meko told herself as she ignored the other shadows that played in and out of her vision. She let out a groan as her left arm locked up on her due to the climate. "D*** It not now, not when I'm so close!" She stated grabbing her arm.
She knew she was getting close she was beginning to see flash backs, and the shadows had faded.
"My, my~ your Very determined~ I like that, it will make you taste even sweeter~" A male voice hummed.
Meko straightened out and glanced around her, there wasn't even a shadow, just the gray sky and the white snow. "Came on....sh-show yourself!" She asked tiredly her body swaying without her noticing.
"Well someone's getting sleep~ Oh and cold~"
Meko managed to keep herself from shrieking as her knee buckled causing her to fall into the snow. Her entire body now was a tingling numb feeling.
She tried to lift herself but her body didn't respond, to her brains command
D***.... I..I didn't want it to end like this...not when I'm so close..
Meko's eyes started flutter open and shut before finally closing.
She felt her hood come off and then some warm breath on her neck and hands on her shoulders.
"Don't worry princess~ I wont harm you, unless you come this way again~"
With that, Meko lost consciousness.
