So here's how it is...it's 2518, when the Earth was used up, we went out and made a whole galaxy of Earths. Some rich with the new technology, others, not so much. The central planets decided to form an alliance and wanted everyone else to join as well, but there was some disagreement on that matter. After the war, many of the independents drifted to the edges of the galaxy, far from Alliance control. Out here, people struggled to get by with the most basic technologies. A ship would bring you work, a gun would help you keep it. A captain's goal was simple; find a crew, find a job and keep flying.

It's Unification day, the day where the Alliance planets unified the galaxy under their rule, and you happen to be on one of the outer rim planets at a local dusty bar. Whether you're there looking for work, some entertainment or just a drink, you've found yourself at The Wingless Sparrow, a broken down ship that now serves as a tavern. Lately there has been anti-Alliance feelings among the outer rim, more than usual. Rumors of a rising of the Independents has started to spread, though the Alliance has been trying to squash these rumors adamantly.

You hear that there's a few ships around town that are taking off pretty soon, and you're bound to meet a captain or two at the Sparrow. Where will you go, the whole 'Verse is open to you.
