This time, let's designate a time and place (on the inside) we all meet up early on. Doesn't matter what we all do after, but there's always that time you're bored 2-3 days in and you see a familiar face from day one and bam, back to the whirling chaos you're there for--Meeting up early on, who knows, one of us could be that guy. (The term "guy", as presented herein, is intended to be gender-nonspecific.)

Unless anyone's got anything better or something's changed since I've been there (this is really just arbitrary), I say 7PM on the con's official day 1, ...

When does he PCS out, and where's he stationed?
IET soldiers usually have a 3-day break for Labor Day weekend, and get released at 7PM the night before (at least I used to), so that's a plus; but on the downside he'd have to be back by 7PM for recall on day 3 and still he'd be limited to 50 miles off-post without a signed memo from his commander. There are no AIT camps I know of within 50 miles of Atlanta, so if he's not graduated or authorized, he's not supposed to be there at all, make sure he stays out of trouble so he's not that guy who goes out of bounds and has the ill fortune of getting locked up. AIT = stuck in a barracks for 5 months to a year = tendency to go crazy when freedom comes your way. Been there, done that, glad I'm still clean and my liver's still there.

Hah, I was dead on. The only other place it could've been if he was thinking about the con was Benning, but he'd be done with all his training by then even if he had just started now.
Gordon's a miserable place. I've got a million crazy stories from that hellhole. But yeah, sounds like he's cutting it close.
I might have to get some current contact info from you on this guy unless he already knows what he's going to do. Only reason I'm so adamant is because I had some friends come out and they had a hell of a time.

Ah well though, I just ADD'ed myself onto other subjects, in hindsight it was probably useless to have thought so deeply into that plan.

Of course Basic was a fun time, you shoot rifles and machine guns and beat each other up with sticks and jiujitsu and then you turn around and blow things up! What's not to love?
AIT's different tho, he's learning how to press buttons, fix outdated machines, and beat his head against a wall from dealing with his retarded superiors.

Haha. I'm sure he got a kick out of it, and no doubt got good at it over time. My forte was the grenade launchers. And could be worse, I had friends from Oregon and Cali over there, you can imagine how much they missed their significant others (and vice versa).
