EOD DORMITORY 107
The room is very sterile and plain. A simple bunk sets up against the wall, covered in black bed sheets with a single green pillow. A military style ammunition chest sits at the foot of the bed with Nathan's name printed on the top in stenciled black spray paint. The walls remain mostly bare, save for a single body length mirror that hangs beside the door. A small wooden side table sits next to the head of the bed, and houses a reading lamp on the top.
X-Men EoD Time
Wednesday, August 13th
Nathan sat up from his bed, sitting his feet on the floor. He reached over to his side table and pulled his wallet off of the top, flipping it open to the photo that he kept inside the plastic holder. A picture of his sister, taken 10 years ago, shortly before he first left for the Xavier mansion. The young, blond girl, all of 11 at the time, was smiling and playing before a backdrop of luscious green grass. He sighed, a stoic and stern look growing over his face, remembering the old times. Looking at this picture always pained him a bit, but it also reminded him of his one and only goal at this point, to keep Katie safe. Shutting the wallet again, he tossed it onto his bed and stood up, stretching out his back and letting out a brief yawn. He walked to the foot of the bed and stood before the munitions locker, flipping the lid open. He pulled out his uniform pants and a black tank top, tossing them onto the bed. He shuffled back around, grabbing up the tank top once again, and sliding it on. He kicked off the shorts that he had worn to bed, pulling on his uniform pants, and zipping them up. He stepped over to the mirror, looking over himself again briefly, not entirely happy with what he saw, but content enough to call it good. He grabbed the socks that he had kept in his shoes and slid them on, followed by the shoes themselves. Walking back over to the bed, he grabbed up his wallet and slid it into his pocket, and then grabbed up the name badge from his side table, clipping the zip line to the waistband of his pants. He turned and headed out of his dorm, into
EoD Hall 1st.
Stepping back in to his room,
Nathan felt his resolve dissipate further. His protectiveness of his sister was seriously damaging his relationship with Endelyn, but he needed to keep Katie safe. That's what his parents had wanted him to do when they sent her to Xavier's in the first place, and now where was he? Failing at keeping her safe, and failing at keeping his relationship together. He shuffled over to his munitions box and popped the lid on it once more, this time scrounging around until her produced the jacket of his uniform. He pulled the jacket on over his tank top and zipped it up, snugging it up tightly to his neck. He let out another sigh. Every time that he had to suit up like this meant that there was another mission, and knowing that there was another mission meant that the world was still not a safe place for mutants. He went back to the side of his bed and sat down for a minute, pulling his wallet back out from his pocket. This time, he opened it, but to the other picture that he kept. This one of Endelyn. He stared at the picture for a minute, thinking of his fiancee, and how things had once been. Back when they met, and had gone on the run through the woods that now lay barren just outside of the mansion. The rain that had began to fall on them when they got lost. How she was always at his side when he was always getting hurt, all these 9 years ago. With another light sigh, he laid back on his bed, letting his wallet flop from his hand and closed his eyes, laying there; just listening to himself breathe.
A second later, the built in communicator on Nathan's X-men badge went off and Vlad's voice could be heard coming through, albeit a bit choppy; "Team, meet me in the war room in an hour. Be suited up and ready to go."
Sighing deeply as he heard his communicator chime in,
Nathan pushed himself from his bed, slowly getting to his feet. He wasn't completely thrilled with the idea of a mission today, but he knew the team needed him. Already fully dressed, he headed out of his room, in to
