EOD MLA ARMORY

Whereas medicine and fuel are almost impossible to come by in the wasters, for some reason, the same is not the same for weapons and ammunition. From the early days when local police stations, gun stores and even a national guard bunker were looted, everyone from the MLA to the gangs and raider bands around the New York city ruins have always been well stocked with armaments. No one knows why, but theories point towards the smugglers, who purposefully under stock food, water and medicine to create a dire necessity, which in turn breeds the ideal market for gun running. Nevertheless, the MLA holds some of the more important and best finds in what's left of a New York city sewer, heavily defended, the armory is run by the third largest MLA faction, the Iron Teeth band, which is also the only MLA faction with a slight human majority. Any requisition or purchase the MLA proper makes for weapons have to go by the Iron Teeth, and no one who is not from their numbers ever enters the armory, the area referring to the camp around the manhole cover leading to the armory proper.

The MLA Armory Contains

1x Assault Rifle
1x RPG Launcher
1x RPG
1x Assault Rifle Magazine (30 rounds each)
1x Handgun Magazine (12 rounds each)
3x Combat Knives
2x Spears
5x Throwing Knives
1x Bulletproof Vest

Wednesday, August 13th

The dust kicked as his heels as Justin strode towards the armory. He pulled his hands from his pockets to show his hands were empty just as a precaution so he wouldn't be fired on. He approached the armed smugglers with slacked caution, having run as a escort with the Iron Teeth many times before. He slowed to a halt just a few steps from the man hole. "Hey guys would you have any handguns, pistols, revolvers, something small?"

The moment Warp walked into the Armory area, two of the Iron Teeth enforcers who manned the Armory at all times quickly lifted their assault rifles and trained them at Justin. Once they saw his face, however, they quickly relaxed and put their weapons down again. The Iron Teeth were known for using old US Army equipment, and their men looked like freedom fighters of some long forgotten war, wearing old and battered military uniforms, complete with helmets, with all the insignia torn out and replaced with a yellow patch with a set of animal fangs on them. "Warp." said simply one of the men. "You out doing jobs for the Column today?" he asked with a coarse voice, "Or the Brotherhood?" he added. Then, as Justin listed the weapons he was looking for, the man replied, "You lookin' to buy or wanna requisition some MLA stuff?".

"Easy guys, technically its for his majesty. But yeah were are running out for some work today." Justin's hands shot up on instinct for a second, his fingers ready to click open a portal if needed but he quickly relaxed when the rational side of his brain realized he wasn't in danger. "Just need some MLA equipment for now but keep your eyes open, if you come across a desert eagle in any of the loads I'd love to get my hands on one of those." He forced a laugh trying to ease up a bit.

Standing near the entrance, The Rook watched the exchange from a safe distance. He wasn't going to move any closer and risk having to actually speak with them. Especially since he had all the weapons he would need. It wasn't unheard of for Rook to take some ammo, though. Since he didn't need it at the moment, he would just allow Warp to get what he needed and be on the way.

With a nod to the man behind him, the Iron Teeth guard had the manhole down to where they keep the MLA equipment uncovered so the pair could easily go downstairs and help themselves to whatever they needed. "Don't go getting greedy." he said with a shrug. "Metamorph'll have my head if you leave nothing for the other teams." continued the man as he went back to his post, clutching his assault rifle. "We can probably fix you a deagle and rounds." added the man, now standing besides the entrance to the mess of tents that was the Iron Teeth base; "you'll have to talk to the boss, and it won't come cheap, but it's doable."

"Id pay for the eagle myself, always wanted one. Not exactly rebel standard fire arms." Justin chuckled. He descended the stair and picked up the first 9mm that he saw, pulling back the slide and checked the barrel and trigger action to make sure it was usable. With a nod of approval he picked up one extra magazine and holstered the gun in his inside vest pocket. With a few quick jumps he was up the stairs again. "Ill just go with a nine for now, but that eagles gonna be my new little toy when I get back." he gave the guards a nod pausing to see if they had anything else to say before they took off.

The guards simply nodded at Warp as he emerged from the manhole once more, armed with a 9mm handgun this time around. "We'll put a word in with the finders then." said simply the same man who'd spoken to the mutant earlier..

"Lets roll out Rook, we have a generator to steal." Justin popped his vest one time to shake off some dirt before they left. He nodded towards EoD North Sprawl and walked off giving a wave to the Iron fangs as he left.

The Rook nodded at Warp and stood aside, giving a small bow to the gun runners before following Justin to EoD North Sprawl.

"Tell me they didn't raid the whole place," came Shana's voice as she entered the tent, her silver hair glinting with the sunlight that was leaking into the tent through the entrance and her booted feet kicking up a small cloud of dust. It was going to be a pain if Justin and Rook, and Lucas, in her mind, since she wasn't yet aware that he had forfeited the mission, had taken the weapons that the girls might need for their own, badly planned mission. "Us ladies are gonna need something to protect ourselves with," she added with a smirk, standing before the guards with her arms crossed as she awaited some sort of answer.

The same guard as before turned around as Shana walked towards the manhole that served as the entrance to the MLA armory. "Hey there metamorph." replied the man, nodding as a small form of salute. "Two of your men came by earlier, yes, only took a handgun and some rounds, nothing else." he added as he instructed his companion to open the gate. "I take it you're not interested in buying today then? Just checking some stuff out?"

Once inside the armory, Halo let their leader do the initial talking. An inky eyebrow raised and a hint of a smile perked the corner of her lips up when Shana hinted aloud that she hoped the boys hadn't cleaned house, and the tall woman was inwardly surprised when the guard spoke at how little they'd taken. 'I'm not interested in buying,' she quietly and concisely said, since the question was posed, although it wasn't necessarily directed at her, and shot a poignant glance at the man. Her work-worn hands found their way to the waistband of her pants, and she casually hooked her thumbs there as she patiently waited to enter the gated area.

Blowing a puff of air through her nose, Shana lifted an eyebrow, questioning the words that the man had just said. "They didn't even take a vest, or something? Nothing?" she asked disbelievingly, sighing in frustration and giving a small roll of her eyes. At least all the girls could, in some way, protect themselves, but the boys' abilities favored offense over defense, leaving them barely protected. Deciding to just let go of the situation rather than let her anger be reignited once more, Shana just shook her head. Hearing the man's next question, however, the girl uncrossed her arms, patting at the machete still hanging from her side with her left hand, the tiny smirk still stuck to her face. "You know I'm partial to this sharp metal thing here. Can't say I'm too interested in keeping anything else right now. We just need some security for the trip today." The girl paused to twist her head around and look at Halo, inquiring, "You want blades or something?"

"Gotcha." said simply the man with a small nod, probably noticing a hint of annoyance in Metamorph's voice and figuring it was in his best interest to get out of her way as soon as possible. "One of your men DID ask for a Deagle tho, we'll get it for him." he added as if trying to garner some favor from the leader of the Column before she went down. Stepping back, the soldier helped his partner remove the manhole cover and then returned to their post, letting the woman make their way down into the armory proper and retrieve whatever they thought they'd need.

'If I'm taking point, a firearm of some sort would be preferable, but I'll take whatever's available,' Halo succinctly but respectfully replied to Shana, since the armory was already one handgun down; she reasoned that something with a little more power behind it would be wise to have in the lead. As was her tendency to stare at people, a longtime habit she'd never broken, she affixed her coppery eyes upon the armory guards and closely watched the men, waiting as the manhole cover was pulled aside to grant them access to the trove of weaponry down below. Stepping forward, Halo ducked into the sewer access, the soles of her boots scraping against the rungs of the ladder as she descended into the store area. For the moment, the tall, wily-haired mutant stood silently off to the side, at least as much as the space would allow, and only perused the available selection as she awaited Shana's arrival underground, leaving first choice for their leader out of deference.

Shana merely gave the guard that spoke on the Deagle a pointed glance and a curt nod, not uttering another word to him. She honestly wasn't quite sure what the boys' needs had to do with her, but she figured the guy was just trying to get in her good graces. Not that it mattered. As long as the guards did what they were put there to do, Shana was pleased. "Get whatever you want," the girl then said, turning back to Halo just before she disappeared down the manhole. She wasn't aware that there was only one easy-to-handle firearm left in the armory, but she reasoned that if there was little to choose from for that day, she'd take whatever was left. She had her machete, after all. Hearing Halo's boots clomp on the ground, Shana followed suit, easing into the hole before stepping down the ladder's rungs with ease. She landed with a thud next to Halo, then proceeded to dust her hands off on her pants as she turned to face their selection. "So, what do you think?" she questioned, wanting an honest answer from the vibrator of what her weapon choice was.

'Rifle,' Halo concluded flatly and without further deliberation when she was asked, and after the small, available stock had been thoroughly assessed. She didn't immediately move to take possession of the firearm, however, and instead stood with her arms crossed loosely over her abdomen; it looked like she was maybe considering something else. While the mission was potentially dangerous, as life in general could be nowadays, they weren't exactly charging into the fray, so she didn't deem the hindering protection of the bulletproof vest, the only piece of protective gear currently available in the armory, apparently, necessary. Stepping forward, Halo carefully took the weapon into her hands, and, after a brief inspection of the piece and checking if it was loaded, she backed away and started to slip the rifle strap over her head so she could wear it cross-ways over her back to free her hands for her ascension to the ground level.

Sasaiya approached the armory, noting that the manhole cover was open. She'd never gone in herself since she didn't usualy use weapons, preferring to use her animal forms to fight instead. As she drew closer she slowed her pace. "Metamorph down there?" She asked the guards with a raised eyebrow.

Chimera's nose seldom deceived her, even in her human form, and it certainly told her Metamorph was down in the Armory alongside someone else she didn't know very well. The Iron Teeth, unlike those in the column, didn't really know her, since she had never bought anything from them. Quite understandably, one of the soldiers looked a bit jumpy, but the other was less worried, after all, the stuff down in the Armory belonged to the Column for the most part, not the Iron Teeth. "Yeah, jus' go ahead." he said, when the other guard turned to see him, he shrugged and added, "What? If she's trouble, Metamorph'll handle her."

"Thank you." The shape-shifter said as she slipped past the pair and drop down through the manhole. Sasaiya landed in a slight crouch, straightening up and cracking her neck as she looked around the room and eyed the impressive display of weaponry. Her eyes landed on Shana and she cleared her throat softly.

Shana offered an approving nod to Halo when she announced her choice of weaponry for the mission, and while the girl seemingly contemplated other pieces of equipment, the adamantium wielding mutant let her eyes wander over the dwindling repertoire. The rifle was her best bet if she were to carry a weapon: she had no use for any sort of protection - her powers did that for her - and carrying around and RPG launcher would be heavy, tedious, and incredibly overkill. However, Halo was taking the gun. While she mulled things over, and eventually came to the decision that she would take nothing, she heard the mutterings of voices upstairs, recognizing her name being spoken twice, and turned to meet Sasaiya eye to eye when she set foot on the ground in the manhole. "Yes?" the girl questioned with a raised eyebrow, wondering if the beast-girl had approached her for a mission assignment or something.

'You think we need to grab the extra--' Halo started to say, with a glance to the supply of armaments that Shana was meditating upon, and more specifically to the remaining rifle clip, when Sasaiya dropped down through the opening overhead. Without waiting for a response, Halo grabbed the extra clip, flipping it one into the palm of her right hand, and stuck it in the waistband of her snug pants since it wasn't likely to squeeze into the smallish pockets of her skintight clothes. She hoped she didn't need it, and simply intended to return it when she brought the rifle back after their excursion. With the assumption that the newcomer was seeking an audience with Shana that did not include herself, she saw no need to remain in the confines of the underground armory, so she offered a 'Morning,' in greeting to the shapeshifter and then a,'...'scuse me,' as the now-armed mutant slipped by to access the ladder to climb back up to the ground level.

Sasaiya stepped aside to allow Halo to pass, giving the other woman a nod in response to her greeting. Her rubescent gaze turned back to Shana. "Going on a mission?" She asked, keeping her voice low and soft even though they were alone. "I'd like to come." It'd been a bit since she'd last gone out, but doing so always seemed to offer some kind of temporary release for the energy pent up inside of her. All this war surrounding them, it made it hard to sleep some nights, hard to even stay still. Sometimes.she just had to go out and do something about it.

Shana merely glanced at Halo as she walked past, and as Sasaiya spoke, the silver-haired woman rested both her hands on her hips. She felt the question had already been answered, considering they were huddled in the armory and picking out weapons, so she kept her mouth shut, at least until Sasaiya announced that she wanted to tag along. There was a short pause, before Shana gave a half shrug, replying in a monotone voice, "Okay." There was no change in the girl's expression as she stepped forward, walking around the animal girl to stand near the ladder, behind Halo. "Make your pick here and come with us. We're doing a medical supplies run," she added, just to be a little informative for her comrade's sake.

Halo was already up the ladder and out of the hole by the time Shana agreed to let Sasaiya tag along on the mission; another body couldn't be a bad thing on their planned trip, she supposed, especially since they could cover more ground faster once they got to the hospital. 'Boys,' she said in acknowledgment of the armed guards on duty before proceeding several strides off from the manhole to give her two fellow mutants plenty of room when they vacated the armory. She copped a rather casual stance as she patiently waited for her teammates, one hand on her hip and the other hand on the rifle's strap, her fingers curled lightly the material.

Sasaiya gave a a quick look around, but as she expected there was nothing here she could use unless she stayed in human form, and she wouldn't be much help if she did that. "I'm good here, let's go." She said as she moved over to the ladder and quickly scaled it. Once up she stepped back a bit so that Shana would also have room, giving Halo a once over before letting her gaze wander a bit.
