EoD MLA COMMAND TENT
Almost as if signifying the struggle every single MLA freedom fighter has to go through, the MLA command tent is located on the very end of the Boneyard, behind it, the remains of a toppled high rise make a massive barrier over 30 feet high. The tent is always protected and flanked by the closest thing the MLA has to an elite, leaders from each of the dozen or so factions that form the Army each sending some men to the tent to look after their interests. In the very middle of the tent, the remains of a radio tower and satellite dish have been set up, making it the only non-company way to get communication with the entire rest of the wasteland. On one side of the tent, an old, semi-rusted anti air quad gun also sits, ready to repel any air strikes that could come onto the sprawl, should the mutants be unable to. Inside the tent is the only place in the ruins of New York that has power 24/7. Several old computers and radio equipment have been salvaged and hooked up, allowing some degree of communication even with the outside world. A large table rescued from some upscale hotel also sits in the middle of the sand floor, with some bunk beds, lockers, a small eating nook and other such places dotting the massive area under the tent. Near the massive table in the middle there is also a pin board where notices and codes may be posted, and a smaller chair for Lisa, the 12 year old Speaker that serves as a liaison between the Guide and the militant MLA.

X-Men EoD Time
Wednesday, August 13th
Lucas pushed aside the material that was the entrance to the command tent. He been here a few times previously, usually for much graver purposes. Lucas took his time to look around, waiting for the others to catch up, he put his hand and metal hand on his hips, standing infront of the notice board and reading the latest mission postings. He sighed at his factions mission, a little disappointed at the wording, he had been right in his thought earlier, they were crude children.
Justin pushed his way into the command center taking quick scan of the area making sure he recognized mots of the faces at the controls, you can never be to careful. His gaze fell on the bored as he took a place beside Lucas. He only need a quick fly through to speed read through the postings, he hadn't lost his nack yet. "Seems like the boys are riled. I agree the generator would be great though, not to excited about civilians involved though." He ran his hand over his chin in thought. "Could use some medicine too."
Entering and quickly reading the board,
Rook shook his head. "Could they be any more condescending?
" he asked rhetorically as he perused the final notice. "Warp, do you think we can 'transport' that generator back here without damaging it?" he said as he turned to look at Justin. "If you have it in you, we can also get those families out while we are at it. It would be a good chance to use your abilities."
With a thoughtful hmm, Justin turned back to the board. "I can displace it about a mile, maybe two. Enough to get out of harms way." He could do it but any more log distance ports would be iffy. He new some f the families needed medicine but the generator would help them get the ball rolling for their assault plans. The morals of his past and the goals of his present where at odds with each other.
"Morning." said a tiny voice from behind the trio of mutants. Behind them, sitting in a big chair and reading a book that was a little singed on the edges, was Lisa. Lisa was a 12 year old girl with big frizzy black hair and dark skin, a little button nose and impossibly white teeth, that always managed to keep her skin clean and clear in spite of where she lived. The girl always seemed to wear the same clothes, too, a pair of overalls which were entirely too big for her and a white shirt underneath, some faded animal character on the front, wit her hair tied behind her back. Peeking over the book, which seemed to be a bit of an 'adult' book, or at least not the standard fare a child would read. "You should go to the hospital." she said matter-of-factly, almost like it was an obvious choice and she was just pointing it out, akin to someone saying 'look at that' while pointing it out. Her chocolate brown eyes peeked up at the trio once more, oddly enough the 12 year old had always appeared more mature than even someone like Lucas. "The possibility of saving lives should always take precedence to the possibility of ending them." she added calmly, turning the page.
Lucas stood in contemplation for a moment infront of the board. Everyone had a good point, and of course he was leaning towards Justin's idea. It was definitely between the hospital and the generator, actually going into Salem was suicide by any means. Lucas' eyes flitted round when he heard the girl speak, he turned his head enough to catch her eye before smiling quickly. "Good morning." He said, turning back to the board. "I could get the generator out of there enough for Justin to port it, hell even if they've made the thing out of plastic I'll drag the thing that's carrying it back here if I have to, we could use a truck. We need the electricity, might be able to power a few water pumps too. If that's not saving lives I don't know what is." Lucas sighed, rubbing the arch of his nose, if he didn't help the brotherhood then they'd cause a few riots when they lost the eventual battle for the generator, and no one wanted that on their hands, least of all Lucas.
"Anything we chose will invariably save lives," The Rook said quietly, looking at the girl. He wasn't against helping, he just didn't know how his talents could be utilized raiding a hospital. That was something better left to those who knew what they were looking for. And he had no clue how to get those files off the computers. So he glanced over at Justin. "Generator first, then the hospital? I would still like a chance to help the refugees, and that would be easiest with your specific talents." And a fair bit of planning they could get done tonight. Map out their path and where they could get to.
Justin's hand went from the stubble on his chin back through his hair as he inhaled. He needed a moment to think, his old habit of pinching the bridge of his nose kicking in again. "Yeah the generator sounds like an in and out." His eyes swept up focusing on the girl, scrutinizing every detail. "The most help we can do is ending this war and destroying the damned administration. The faster we do that the more good we can do after instead of waiting it out and letting them kill off people like we are disease."
"Then I guess that's settled. The sooner we get that generator here, the quicker we can start making this place a little more hospitable." Lucas rubbed the back of his neck, "I'll have to give a few of my guys the heads up later before they run ahead of schedule." He turned to the speaker, a alight apologetic look on his face. He hadn't forgotten their main purpose here, to protect and help mutant kind, but if they hoped to win the fight against the X-men, they needed the help of every radical they could find, and all the power they could use.
"You go tell your people," The Rook said, the slightest wrinkling of his nose the only sign that he was talking to Lucas. "Since I am the only one here who does not drink my breakfast, Warp, can you come get me from the diner before you leave." He checked that his sword was firmly attached to his back before giving Lucas a nod and Warp one of his ever rare half smiles. With that, he exited out to the EoD Boneyard.
"Hmm?" Justin finished a swig of his flask while Rook was talking, chocking it down and returning it to its rightful place in his pocket. "What?" He feigned innocence then nodded as Rook left. "Why does everyone think i drink to much? They have any idea how hard it is to rip holes in space time? I deserve a drink." He turned back to Lucas with a slight sigh. "So the generator it is boss?"
"Because when you piss it smokes and burns a hole in the ground." Lucas rolled his eyes before nudging Justin's arm with his fist. "Yup, let's go raid some Company. Go back to your tent, get your stuff together and I swear if I see that flask on the mission I'm launching it into the stratosphere. I need you fresh and sharp." Lucas warned, turning to bow his head to the guide in respect, before leaving the tent and exiting the EoD Boneyard.
With a roll of his eyes Justin pulled the flask out and seemingly dropped it to the ground, but it vanished halfway down and landed safely in his hammock back in his hovel. "Well, Hisoka might be right, should probably get something to eat before they have me pack muleing a damn generator through the fourth dimension." He waved at the small girl before taking his hand a waving a hole to EOD Dead end diner and stepping through.
Lucas entered the command tent, yelling in anger and frustration. He wanted nothing more than to get out on this mission, he was feeling particularly murderous and had no doubt he'd earn some explosives from his brotherhood. He took no notice of Lisa as he strode around the tent, trying to calm down. He needed to get himself together, the others would no doubt be joining him in a moment and he didn't like people knowing what he could do in anger, it was also different from his usual sarcastic self. He stood at the table, slamming his hands onto the table, one hand palm down and turning whiter, his other hand burying into the table a half inch or so.
Lisa's brown eyes peeked from over her oversized book and followed Lucas as he dramatically walked in and began cussing at thin air. Lifting a single eyebrow and putting the book on her lap, she asked; "I thought you were supposed to be a strategist type." very matter-of-factually. It was almost as if the girl was reprimanding Lucas on the his behaviour and how uncharacteristic it was regarding the role he claimed to have, or strived for.
Lucas threw a look at Lisa, he'd forgotten she'd be there, and had not spotted her. He sighed and looked down at the table. "Nobody's perfect." He said simply, "We all have our moments." After a second, he removed his hands from the table, his metal hand causing a little more effort. He took a seat at the table, the opposite side to Lisa, leaning on the hard wood and let his mind wander somewhat, he should think of what he'd be saying to Shana, about what kind of plans the brotherhood had already put in place. But instead he chose to think of nothing.
Along came Shana, who entered the tent with a scowl, as was usual for her these days, and without hesitation, she moved over to the table and took a seat, choosing an empty spot next to Lisa, at an angle across from Lucas. She didn't want to sit next to the metal bender, and he had chosen his seat directly across from the 12 year old girl occupying the tent, so Shana picked the next best thing. As she lowered herself into the chair, Shana briefly locked eyes with the young black girl, though she said nothing. Finally, Shana got comfortable in her seat, leaning against the back rest, and went about opening the bag and setting her lunch out onto the table. With her eyes trained on Lucas, she picked up the first bite of her food, sticking it in her mouth and chewing silently. Finally, after swallowing, she spoke up, "Go ahead," urging Lucas to get on with whatever planning they may or may not do, depending on his cooperation.
Lucas raised his hand to his face, rubbing his stubbled chin in thought. When Shana entered, he passed a look her way, waiting for her to speak first. When she did, he breathed through his nose, lowering his hand and looking to her. There were quite a few things he wanted to say, all out of anger. But his contemplation whilst waiting for her to arrive had led to his temper abating. He finally spoke, "For what it's worth, I'm sorry. I got caught up in the idea that I could lead on my own." Lucas allowed a small small to himself. He always enjoyed the drama of it all, the action. Life had been a little boring as of late, he just couldn't resist the chance at something big, giving himself an ego boost and helping the people of this dump. Remembering who he was talking to, he lost the smile, sitting up a little straighter, and leaning across the table to look directly at Shana. "Look, it's pretty clear you don't like me, I'm narcissistic, I like to show off and I know I can be immature. But everyone lumps me in with the brotherhood, thinking I condone all of their actions, thinking I'm one of them. Hell the reason I built the scrap heap was to keep most of them off the streets at night." Lucas went on, he'd never really told anyone all of this, but right now, burying the hatched (and not in someone's back) seemed like the smarter thing to do. "Alright, so what you need to know is that I'm a good guy, what I am outside of the serious stuff, that doesn't concern you. What does is how I act when hell's raining down upon us." A serious look crossing his face, Lucas was silent a moment before leaning back into his chair, letting the seriousness abate a little. "Ok, now that I've gotten that out of my system, what in particular about the missions would you like to discuss?"
Shana continued to eat, placing bites in her mouth and chewing and swallowing while Lucas began his talk. Apology. Whatever it was he was doing. Most of the time, the girl's eyes were on her food, only looking up to Lucas every now and then to show she was still paying attention, although her mannerisms suggested she wasn't very interested. Towards the end, the girl's head rolled back and she looked up at the top of the tent, waiting for Lucas to finally finish. When he did, the girl swallowed what was left of any food in her mouth, the looked directly at the older-looking man in front of her. Holding up her index finger, she began addressing each of the man's statements and questions. "No one here leads 'on their own'." A second finger went up, and she added, "Simply admitting your downfalls won't bring to this group what we need to win this war." A third finger was raised as she completely ignored the comment on the Brotherhood. "Believe it or not, I'm actually not interested in what kind of person you are outside of strictly business. I'm a hell of a lot more concerned with what you're doing to help keep this community alive and thriving, and as far as I can see, it's not a whole lot." The girl finally put her hand down, resting both in her lap and crossing one leg over the other. "What I need from you is more willingness to discuss these things with leaders, first. Don't go filling your little minions' heads with ideas before you've even come up with a plan with me, or some other leader. And especially don't ignore me when I ask," the girl explained, ignoring, for the moment, Lucas' question about the missions. Shana was being a lot more civil than she felt like being, and explaining more than she felt was necessary, but if she was going to get through to this guy, she figured she had to be as clear as possible. "We need a plan. Together. You can't just make one up, take your men, and leave me here to rot with the girls." The young woman leaned forward then, resting her elbows on the table, her bright blue eyes never leaving Lucas'. "We have to figure out who works best on what mission. I figured that should be obvious."
As Shana said her piece, Lucas waited calmly for her to finish, folding his arms and keeping a neutral expression upon his face, although he was getting more annoyed by the second. Hey, no one could say he didn't try to build a bridge, he'd wanted to open up a dialogue but it seemed to have failed, she wanted business, then that's what she'd get. He chose to ignore a few of the points made, as far as community was concerned, he'd already covered that when he tried to keep the brotherhood off the streets, and what was he doing if not helping the community by trying to get a generator here? After a moments silence, Lucas nodded. But he had one thing to say before getting down to it. "Look, I'm all fine with working in a team, but as for me not telling you about this mission, I'd only just decided on it myself, I needed to get a few facts straight before I came to you with it. And leaving you to rot with the girls? What kind of quip is that? Like I woulnd't rather any of you on the generator mission more than Rook. He's got his uses, but securing and transporting valuable tech from the middle of a squad of company men? Unless we've got a horde of X-men raining down on us, it's Not exactly his style." he breathed hard for a second, before saying, "You think I haven't thought this through at least a little bit?" He stood behind a spare chair, both his hands on it's back as he leaned in. "I'm not gonna go all guns blazing into a firefight, that'd be idiotic. I have a few plans rattling around this head of mine you know." Lucas added, unblinking as he took in Shana's glare.
Shana did what she could to keep from sighing, rolling her eyes, and simply falling backwards in her chair as Lucas went on defending himself. She thought maybe cluing him in to what was pissing her off so much would help him better understand what he needed to do to make these missions successful, but obviously he was missing the entire point. The girl had even tried being calm, nice, even, or at least by her own standards. Instead of making another outburst, although she was more than itching to do so, Shana simply stayed quiet through Lucas'little tirade of words, occasionally giving Lisa a glance to see if she was reacting to all of this. "Okay, great. You've got plans," she finally began to say when the Lord of the Junkyard had finally shut his mouth. Leaning back in her seat, she continued, "Lay them out on the table. We should be figuring this out, not justifying our own immaturities. What mission are you choosing, who do you want to take, why are they your best options? What do you have to do and how is all this going to benefit the MLA?" Obviously the girl was used to planning things out, if not for the help she usually got from Daniela. She silently waited for Lucas' answer, once again staring the metal-manipulating mutant right in the eyes.
"Alright, what we're hoping to be dealing with on the mission I want to attend, is a simple distract and snatch. The plan I was going to suggest was to take a team of me, Justin and either Shield or Halo down to the co-ordinates. We ambush the party, with the brotherhood distracting the company soldiers and Justin hijacking the truck and warping it out of there. I'd compliment him and help him with the portal depending on what energy he had left, get him out of there. I'd stay behind to help out the brotherhood and after the dust has settled, fly back and rendezvous with Justin. If Shield is with us, her job would be to protect Justin until he got to the truck, then protect the generator from enemy fire. If Halo came, she'd be involved with distracting the company men, maybe making a divide between them and the generator, and dealing as much damage as possible." Lucas finished, his left hand had turned white from gripping the chair too hard. He waited a moment before asking. "Any thoughts, additions, criticisms or contributions you'd like to make?" Granted he'd come up with most of that on the spot, but after some hammering out of the details, he reckoned it could work. Either that or he was making it seem to simple. "The generator would grant us electricity, we could use it to get some water pumps online throughout the sprawl and we might be able to get some lamps up in the streets, might make things a little safer." Lucas finished, he was still looking Shana in the eyes, but they'd glazed over somewhat as he began to think a little more about the mission. If the truck failed they needed a get out plan, but the idea that was blooming was unappealing to him to say the least. But it seemed the only option they had. "If that plan doesn't work, then I'm definitely gonna need Shield. Plan B involves me lifting the generator and flying it to Justin, and we port it out of there and leave the brotherhood to fight. I'll be vulnerable throughout this plan, so I'll need Shield to protect me." He added, his eyes returning to their normal lustre.
Much like before, Shana simply sat, silent as she listened to Lucas go on about how he wanted things to go during the missions, his enunciations of the word 'I' nearly making her roll her eyes. She would be better than that, though, and hear him out completely, at least until he gave her the go ahead to make comments, before she spoke again. She did the same as before, taking the occasional bite of her lunch, which had dwindled down to a small portion by then, and keeping her face expressionless and her actions emotionless. Finally, when the Scrap King finished his drawn out speech, Shana uncrossed her legs and leaned forward on the table once more. "There are faults," she began, her gaze never leaving his eyes. "I don't know how in the hell you expect Justin to teleport a truck out of there, let alone the generator on its own. Keep your men's powers in check, oh leader. Justin's only good for a couple 'ports a day, and they can't be much bigger than himself, last I checked. You can't use him for that. You'd be better off moving the thing on your own." The girl paused to scowl for a moment, then continued, "I don't like the idea of you using my friend simply as your protection, either. She's not invincible," she said honestly, picking up her paper back and crumpling it a little as she spoe. "But I have to agree that she is the best protection around. What I don't agree with is that you're just using everyone to get this generator, whatever it's for, but you have absolutely no offense. What will you do if you get hit from behind? We lose a team member and the generator." Shana finally paused, letting her own words sink into Lucas' mind, hoping he would come up with some sort of better strategy than his obvious barely-planned one. However, it seemed a thought suddenly hit her, and she stood to walk over to the mission postings tacked to the wall, pulling them down and carrying them back to the table. Her eyes scanned over them quickly, the generator one in particular, and she then tossed it down in front of Lucas with a disgruntled sigh. "You didn't read it clearly," she growled, crossing her arms and slouching in her seat. "Generator's not for us. Your brothers want it for themselves. And the only rewards you get are a few bombs and lots of help killing people." Shana lifted an eyebrow as she watched for Lucas' reaction, wondering if he would get all pissy and high and mighty once more as she pointed out all the flaws in his plan.
Sliding cautiously into the tent, The Rook stood near the entrance, eyeing the two inside as he did. He could practically feel the tension in here, knowing full well that the two leaders didn't like each other. But that was why it made more sense to send him in than anyone else. They could be in a full out brawl and he would still be able to end it rather quickly. As it was, it just seemed as if Lucas was being his normal high and mighty self while Shana was trying to prove that she had the more level head. Their personalities clashed so often, though, that Rook was practically expecting someone to attack. Technically, he belonged to neither group, he was the mercenary ready for anything and fulfilling his job in return for room and board. So Rook knew he could watch over the leaders and keep each safe from the other as he didn't have a favorite. The only person he would defend against someone else without question was Daniela, and that was because back at the mansion, she had managed to befriend him when no one else seemed interested. Rook's eyes shifted between the two leaders, though, and he waited for something to happen as it seemed as if they were in the middle of some sort of dispute.
Lucas frowned at Shana, he was expecting the picking appart of his plan, he didn't mind it of course but when it came to underestimating his and Justin' abilities, that's where the fault lay. "Justin can open portals of human size without any strain. With some effort however, I'm sure he'll be able to open one a little bigger. After which I can help him out there, I'd pump it full of magnetic energy to make the portal bigger, although granted after that I'd be little more than useless should any greater conflict arrive, but hopefully by that time we'd be at least half a mile away." At that point he paused to contemplate the rest of Shana's talk, he brushed his hand through the air, as if swatting away an angry retort. "I was going to speak to the freaks about that, I was planning on running some cable from the generator back here to the sprawl." He sighed at the long shot, contemplating the various ways the tide could turn should they get some electricity and some extra help off the brotherhood. He looked back at Shana, shrugging. "Alright, let's hear your plan." He folded his arms and awaited a response.
When Lucas opened his mouth to speak again, Shana finally showed some emotion, her old easily-frustrated self coming out as she tilted her head back with a small groan, letting it hang there while the man across from her spoke. It seemed no matter how much she picked apart the kid's plan, he just wouldn't budge. "You can't... ugh," she started to say, ending with a frustrated groan as she lifted her hands to rub her eyes with her palms. The curtain to the tent opened with a rustle and Shana looked over with a blurry-eyed gaze to see Rook standing there, and she swore under her breath, sitting up straight. Everyone else had probably been waiting on her and Lucas to finish their discussion, but it seemed as though they had barely broke the surface of the whole ordeal. "Look, you know what? Do what you want. But these kids' blood will not be on my hands if something happens," she finally said decisively, placing one of her palms on the table while she gathered her things from her late breakfast, scooping them into the brown paper bag they came in. She looked down briefly at the three worn pieces of paper spread in front of her, and after a short second, she shoved two of them towards Lucas, keeping the medical supplies-related one to herself. "My plan is to do something useful for this camp," she concluded, standing from her seat. The girl gave the young Lisa a short pat on the head before she grabbed her things, the bag of trash and the piece of paper, and headed towards the door, passing Rook without so much as blinking an eye, and into EoD Boneyard.
Although he was easily seen as a less than experienced soldier, The Rook knew that there were few people in this place who didn't give him a wide berth. Shana was one of them. He stepped aside to let her pass, looking over at Lucas in minor confusion as to why the girl was so frustrated. "They are waiting," he said simply, his eyes looking down at the papers before flicking back at Lucas. He didn't have anything more to say, so he followed Shana out to the EoD Boneyard, not liking being left in the tent with the metal manipulator and the young girl.
Lucas had watched them both leave, frustrated and annoyed. He turned to stand and stare at the mission board, taking the time to read everything carefully, unlike earlier when he'd skimmed it. He sighed and shrugged, what the hell, he'd let the others decide what they wanted to do, they had a few days to do the generator mission. He resented Shana for a comment on doing something useful, looking at the mission details, what was more useful in making sure they had more help to end this thing? He turned and left the tent, a little unwilling since it gave rise to the chance he'd run into Shana again in the EoD Boneyard.
Feeling a bit tired with all the bickering, Shield walked into the tent from the Boneyard. Sometimes it seemed the MLA had more bureaucracy than the government, with all these people unable to take things a bit more... easily. Even the ones who claimed to be chill or suave acted like a bundle of nerves and in the end, stuff didn't quite get done. With a sigh, the girl sat down at the central command table while she waited for Shana and Halo. Hopefully keeping the two groups separately would make things move faster, as they had wasted a ridiculous amount of time already.
Gliding into the tent only as smoothly as her limp would allow, Halo appeared just a few seconds behind Daniela. As her eyes scanned the interior of the structure, she offered Lisa a small smile upon locating the girl, her expression genuine and not its usual, ironic, brassy simper, and tossed the crumpled bag of food onto the command table, with a tip of her head as if to say free for the taking. As the bag thunked and slid a few inches, Halo forwent taking a seat for the moment, and instead when to the pin board to read the missions for herself. 'Looks like we're headed into the city,' the woman idly remarked after a quiet perusal, but didn't turn to the others as she re-read what was posted on the wall.
Shana entered the tent shortly after the two ladies, her arms crossed over her chest and a rather disgusted expression upon her features. "Yeah, maybe we can all have a walk down memory lane when we get there," the girl joked rather sarcastically, the scowl fading into an almost complacent look. The three of them had spent plenty of time in Salem, enough to know how to get to the hospital easily if they followed the streets and old landmarks carefully enough. The young woman walked across the room to stand beside Halo, looking up at the particular mission in question, re-reading it for the sake of accuracy, which Lucas and his men had seemingly failed to do. "So, how do you suppose we'll go about getting a U-S-B?" she asked, the question directed toward the little Lisa, although she didn't even bother to turn and look at the young girl.
Lisa had sheepishly put her book down on the table and crossed her hands over it while she looked at the three older girls who had just walked in with big, brown, almond shaped eyes. "That is easily arranged." she said with a tiny smile, "The Guide provides." she added simply as she fished something small and silver that had been deftly hidden inside the small cloth belt around her waist. It was a simple, small USB device, "Plugging it in should be enough, there's a program already in it that will make a backup of the hard drive of whatever computer you plug it in, it just takes a bit of time." she added, almost mechanically, as if someone else's words came through her in her own voice, in a deliberate and almost rehearsed manner. "Of course the medicine for the people is the Guide's main concern." she added with a small smile and a look wiser than her years would normally allow. "But... the Guide would be VERY happy with the information in that hospital's database, if you managed to get it."
"I guess that solves that, oh fearless leader." added Shield with a cocky grin as she nodded in Lisa's direction after the black girl's explanation. Shield was actually quite pleased with the mission choice they had this time, it was something she felt could really help the people she interacted with every day, the sick at the medical tents down in the South Sprawl. "So.. getting there won't be hard... just a little wasteland trek...." she began to say, playfully pressing the tip of her index finger against her lower lip as she looked up with her one good, blue eye. "We should figure out what to take so we can go get it before we meet up in the exit of the South Sprawl..." she added, bringing her middle finger up to her lips now, as if she was counting. "And figure out what to do in case we run into trouble, three pretty young girls could make some of the gangs out there salivate..." she added with a bit of condescension and disgust in her voice, "Better have a battle plan of some sort or... at least know what we're supposed to do if a fight does break out." she concluded, with her ring finger up now.
Halo responded with a sharp, humourless laugh to Shana's quip, then, with her curiosity was satisfied in regards to the posted information, she turned around to face Lisa when the young Speaker answered the question posed. With her stance squared and arms crossed over her chest, she quietly volleyed her attention from the 12-year-old to Shield, who spoke next, and watched her compatriot with her usual intense and judicious gaze. 'Speak softly, walk swiftly and carry a big stick... we'll go far...' Halo uttered with a wry smile as she butchered the saying to fit her needs. 'Well,' she said then, still smirking but getting down to business this time. '... we could hit the emergency room first, since it'll be at ground level... there's bound to be a pharmacy and supply closets there,' she postulated. 'You two going armed?' she then asked after a moment, looking between Shana and Daniela, although it was a really just a rhetorical question, but the issue of their general safety had been raised, and she did wish to make the trip as smooth as possible.
Shana smirked at the young girl after she gave her reply, crossing her arms as she turned to face her companions once more. "Of course. Hey, might as well get what we can out of this trip, hm?" responded the girl. She, of course, owed the good doctor for treating her wounds after her little mishap with a former X-Men partner, and it would be nice to also get some supplies for her companions, and possibly even gain some help from the Guide himself. Shana looked between the two women as they spoke, leaning forward and resting her palms on the table. "Emergency Room sounds good. They'll probably have anything we would need there. We can hit the second floor if we don't run into any trouble. I'd like to make it back before sundown though." Shana shifted her legs, crossing one ankle over the other, before standing up a little straighter. "Halo can lead. She's got a better chance of seeing around corners and through walls. Shield, you take up the rear, you can keep an eye out and block anything that comes from behind. I'll hold the middle down and carry most, or all, of the supplies on the way back. Once we get there, get whatever looks useful, and we get our asses back home quick as we can." The silver-haired woman then looked to Halo, another smirk appearing on her lips when the human vibrator questioned the use of arms. "It'd be insane not to nowadays."
"Sounds like everything is decided." replied Shield as Shana and Halo laid out the battle plans. It should be a quick incursion, go in, get the meds, get out. Finding a working computer terminal would be considerably harder, though. They would probably have to find some way to funnel power into the hospital before even trying to turn on any of the old computers, let alone find a computer that could be turned on after 5 or 6 years of inactivity. Emergency buildings tended to have some sort of emergency power storage though, so they might be able to pull it off. Still, meds were their first and foremost objective in the mission. "I've got my trusty old gun." replied to the gun comment, standing up and jutting her hips to the side so as to show off the Beretta she'd had for almost 10 years now, safely strapped to her hips on a dark red leather holster. "You two probably need to get something with range, though. I can meet you at the exist of the Southern Sprawl while you check out the Armory, if you'd like." added Daniela with a grin.
Nodding once in concurrence, Halo pursed her lips slightly and made a soft, low sound at the back of her throat to indicate that she understood their leader's plan and accepted her position. Even before the mission had been definitively decided upon, she had figured that a trip to the MLA's modestly-stocked armory was in store. In her day-to-day life, Halo found she had little need for a gun; she could ward most would-be aggressors off with a relatively small display of power, otherwise she didn't have an easy way to carry a firearm without the chance of destroying it or causng it to accidentally misfire if she did, in fact, need to utilize her abilities to a greater magnitude. Her eyes slid from Shana to Dani, or more specifically the black-haired girl's sidearm, then back again. 'Arright. Armory first, then meet on the other side. Who's in charge of the drive?' she asked lastly, with a glance to Lisa and the shiny, precious acquisition in her hand.
"Any of you will be fine." said Lisa as she put the Flash drive in Shana's hand. Truth was, billions of them had been made so they weren't exactly hard to find. The program within this particular one, however, was a luxury acquisition in the modern New York area, so it would be hard to replace it should the girl lose it.
Shana gave a nod to Daniela, acknowledging her suggestion even if she had already considered it. She looked to Halo with yet another nod, then held her hand out to retrieve the USB drive from Lisa. "Let's go, then," she said to Halo, motioning to the vibrator to follow her out the tent as she took a step forward. "See you," she then added, speaking to Daniela, before stepping out of the command tent and into EoD Boneyard.
As she wasn't much for small talk, and there wasn't anything of worth for her to add, Halo raised and lowered her hand in some semblance of a wave goodbye to Lisa and Daniela then walked out into the EoD Boneyard just behind Shana.
